We stopped in for a pre-show brunch, and had the BEST time! As a group of 7, sometimes service can be slower or compromised - not at Oh My Darling! Our server was excellent, very personable, and she had great recommendations. The brunch menu had so many options, beyond your basic eggs and French toast! We adored the seasonal cocktails, they were the cherry on top of a five star experience. I would recommend reservations, especially on Landmark Theatre show days!

Food and drinks were great, but service here needs work. I came here as a party of 1 and it took more than 6 minutes for someone to come and serve me water. It was lunch time but not busy at all, so not sure why the long wait time. I got the Alive and Kickin for drinks, and chicken waffles as entree. Alive and kickin is their version of an espresso martini, I will say 8/10! Chicken and waffles were delicious, chicken was fried to perfection but just a tiny tiny bit on the dryer end. It also took a while to get anyone's attention to get the check, the receptionist actually ignored me when I tried to get her attention, l o l ... Overall, this is a cute spot for a meal but don't expect much.

A great brunch spot! The eggs Benedict was delicious. They have a lot of fun drink options, the inside is nicely decorated, and the service is wonderful.

First time here and it was a good experience. Great server with a wonderful personality. She was funny. Food was good! Shrimp and grits did not disappoint. Cornbread was good but could have been a touch more soft and moist. The ambiance was nice, open and light. Would definitely fine here again. Good spot for a group of people as well.

Oh My Darling is a beautiful restaurant located in the middle of downtown. We came here for brunch, food was good. I'm giving them only 4 stars because I did not enjoy my latte. Coffee was a bit watery . Our waiter was friendly and kind.

Me and my several friends have been there many times for brunch since 2020. We always loved the food, and the prices were friendly. The underground bar was pretty good too.

We stopped at Oh My Darling for lunch in our way up to Rochester. It seems like OMD is one of the better dining options in Syracuse, especially for Sunday brunch. The space itself is really nice - tall ceilings and good bones. It does have this kind of empty feeling and could definitely use more warmth in terms of decor. I started off with the strawberry smash mocktail which was delicious. The grits looked great in photos, so I decided to order along with blackened shrimp. Although I wish they were warmer, the grits were tasty and well seasoned. It came with three shrimp, but unfortunately one of my shrimp was still partly raw - cooked on one side but when I flipped it still totally blue gray on the other. I worked around it. I'd recommend this spot for a quick lunch on the way up to Rochester or Buffalo.

We made reservations for brunch because we were going to a show at The Landmark Theater afterwards. It was very busy and while many people with early reservations were going to the same show, people continued to arrive who were just coming for a lovely brunch. I have always loved the decor, light and airy with a clean modern feel. I love that you get a bottle of water on the table....no waiting for refills. I had the ricotta pancakes with lemon curd and fruit on top. It came with a small fresh, tasty salad that was dressed with a light vinaigrette. It also comes with choice of either ham, bacon or sausage on the side. My friend highly recommend the bacon, and while I'm not really a bacon person I went for it. I got three nice size strips that were tasty and perfectly cooked. I don't care for crispy, hard bacon and these still had some chew to them. The pancakes were very tasty and the lemon curd and fruit was a delicious topping, though they did serve a small portion of of syrup on the side which I enjoyed also. Service started out great, our server was attentive and friendly. As it got busier and we saw our server waiting on a large party, we didn't see him as much, which was absolutely fine. We had food and drinks, we knew we would make it to the show on time and he stopped by just enough to check in. (Sorry for no pictures of food.)

Interior is light and modern and vintage touches. Plenty of tables with comfortable seats, including bar seats. It can get rather loud when its busy. Staff has always been friendly and informative and able to answer questions about items being vegan or GF. Personally, I've found their drinks to be a bit disappointing, cocktails and mocktails alike. I find myself longing for more flavor, and for cocktails a bit stronger. I've had some great experiences with food and some disappointing ones. The vegan cauliflower steak curry was DELICIOUS, one of my favorites I've had from them, vegan or not. Shrimp and grits are okay, 3 shrimp for $18 is a little steep and grits overall flavor was little off. Brussel sprouts had good flavor but I think they need to be cooked longer. Sweet potato fries were yummy. Mac n cheese and hot honey chicken are also yummy. Brunch is overall better but items can vary as well.

All style, little substance. The interior of this place is absolutely stunning, though it gets pretty loud during afternoon brunch because the place is packed. Even despite this, the staff were pretty quick to get things in and out. As far as the food, I was disappointed because they were out of so many things I wanted to order and what we did get was pretty lackluster. Their avocado toast is very low effort. And a lot of bread. You get two slices with a very thin spread of guacamole, not real avocado, and it's slathered with honey and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. They put a salad and fruit garnish in the middle, but it was still very sad. I'm not expecting it to be California quality, but the effort is not there, especially not for $12. The banana bread was pretty dense and contains walnuts. As far as drinks, we went for the mocktails. I'm guessing the lychee one is popular, because they were out, so we settled for the others. The lavender lemonade was average, a little too sweet for me. On the other hand, the strawberry limeade was way too tart and unbalanced, with no strawberry flavor coming through. Each of these mocktails were $8 but they came in much smaller glasses than their cocktails, which felt odd, especially since they're much cheaper to make. Overall, very expensive for what you get, and what you get feels half-assed.

Came here for brunch and was seated in the back, which unfortunately felt like we were a bit forgotten by the servers. It took quite a while for our orders to be taken. The music was also LOUD... borderline overwhelming for a brunch setting. We tried the Darling Brunch Burger, which sounded amazing. It was good, though I've definitely had better. The truffle fries on the side were a nice touch and actually pretty tasty. Overall, it was a mixed experience. Might consider coming back, but I'm not in a rush.

I went on a night a show was opening at the Landmark so it was pretty much impossible to find any close parking. The restaurant was also hopping, but despite that service was impeccable. I was sitting with a group of about 10, but food came out fast and our server was great about checking in. Would definitely recommend dining in for the full experience. The restaurant is popular, especially on show nights or when there are other events downtown, so if you want a calmer ambiance maybe plan your visit on a slower night. Otherwise, enjoy the buzziness. The decor of the restaurant is pretty chic and trendy, and I don't think you truly get the full experience if you're not dining in and socializing. Their cocktail menu is on point. It was truly hard to choose from the seasonal menu, which had tons of great options. The harvest sangria was tempting (lots of other folks at the table got it and it looked delish) but I went for the apple cider spritz. Great size, and super refreshing. For dinner I went for the seasonal flatbread and a side of mac and cheese. I asked for the flatbread to come without meat. Not sure if they assumed I was vegan, because they also nixed the whipped brie, which was a bummer. I didn't realize it was missing until after I'd already finished my meal (I'll admit, I was a bit tipsy/hungry by that point.) Flatbread was still tasty, but would have really been better with the cheese. Mac and cheese was delicious. Creamy and cheesy but still fancy. Their cheese blend is pretty unique and tastes luxurious. A nice night overall. Will come back!

We're heading to the theater in Nov 12. How early should we show up to get a table?

I went to Oh My Darling before a show during the week. We arrived at 6:00 for a 7:30 show and had no problem getting a table. If the show is on the weekend, they may be busier.

Is your outdoor seating still available (mid-Oct)? Also, it is listed here as "heated outdoor seating" -- is that accurate?

    Do they serve alcohol?

Once again, it was outstanding. Great service great atmosphere and the food is superb. The price is worth what you pay for. If you have not come here yet, I strongly suggest it. I was genuinely looking forward to dining at what is often described as "the best restaurant in…read moreSyracuse," especially for their Valentine's Day prix fixe experience. Unfortunately, based on our visit, I do not anticipate returning. While I do have several culinary critiques--such as paying for the luxury wine pairing only to receive a bold Burgundy alongside Linguine and Clams, or seeing "Caviar" listed on the menu and discovering it was actually Bowfin roe--these are ultimately matters of taste and expectation. Likewise, the eclectic menu progression, shifting from Korean/Asian-inspired starters to Eastern European notes and then unexpectedly into Italian influences, was unusual but clearly stated ahead of time. SEE UPDATED REVIEW FOLLOWING THIS SECTION SPECIFICALLY RELATING TO "SERVICE FEE". What was not clearly stated--and what I believe crosses into dishonest practice--was the service fee. The menu advertised on Instagram included fine print noting a 3% service fee. That seemed reasonable. However, the check we received instead included a 22% service fee, which is a significant and unexplained deviation. This is not a simple oversight. The terms presented online at the time of reservation did not match the terms presented at the restaurant. (UPDATED REVIEW: Following my review, one of the owners of Noble Cellar reached out to discuss my experience. We had an in‑depth, thoughtful conversation about the complexities of New York State restaurant laws, particularly those governing how front‑of‑house staff may be tipped and how back‑of‑house employees may be compensated. While we were in agreement that the language surrounding the service fee was confusing, our discussion gave me a clearer understanding of the intent. I now feel far less certain that the discrepancy was malicious or deliberately deceptive. That said, it should have been made much clearer to diners that the service fee included what is traditionally understood as gratuity. Transparency in this area is crucial for maintaining guest trust, and clearer communication would have prevented the confusion I--and likely others--experienced. I want to commend the owner for reaching out directly and taking the time to address each of my concerns. His willingness to engage, listen, and provide context demonstrated genuine integrity. We also discussed my other critiques in depth, and it was evident that he was sincerely interested in my perspective and committed to further elevating the experience they aim to provide. I was invited back to experience a standard service, and I appreciate the opportunity. I look forward to giving Noble Cellar another chance and hope to update this review again following a future visit.) Our total bill was $599, including a $100 "service fee." I still chose to leave a $100 tip, as our server was attentive and should not be held responsible for management's decisions. In the end, we spent $700 for two people--paired with the added disappointment of feeling misled. I have photo documentation of both menus, and the discrepancy is unmistakable. I will be reaching out directly to ownership and management regarding this issue. Until then, I feel compelled to leave a 1-star review, as this level of inconsistency and lack of transparency is unacceptable. Without the inflated and undisclosed fee, my rating would have been closer to 3 stars, based on the food and overall experience.

Another outstanding meal at my favorite syracuse restaurant…read more Enjoyed some time this Friday with special people as we sat and enjoyed an exquisite dining out. I was the only returning patron, the others much enjoyed their first time here. Walking through the front door you're instantly hit with a wonderful smell of food cooking over an open fire. Got a terrific table to look out the window and enjoyed a nice evening view. Took full advantage of every food meal course available. Started out with their evening appetizer of homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Each of us got our own dinner choice along with small plates to start. The two small plates were green lentil salad and ember roasted carrots. Both of them with their unique flavor and style. The green lentil salad featured heirlooms. The ember roasted carrots featured labrieth, doqqa, and maple syrup. Keep in mind everything here comes from local farms and local breweries and distilleries. Big fan of supporting the state and local community. Fantastic! They feature only a few main entrées, tonight's included halibut, steak, chicken, and sea Island peas with jasmine rice. Knowing how well seasoned their steaks are, I went with a filet mignon 10 ounce. Probably a little more than I should've gotten, but I very rarely eat steak and know how well and good they are here. Ordered the steak medium to medium rare and that's exactly how it came out. Mouth watering delicious. Along with the steak includes mashed potatoes, chimichurri, kale, and. crème fraiche. Every bite was outstanding. One of us got ice cream for dessert which she said was very good. The ice cream was made right there at the restaurant. We kicked off the dinner with a rum cocktail and a tequila cocktail. All spirits locally sourced. If you haven't tried it here yet you should. You will not be disappointed.

We were promptly seated and ordered glasses of wine while perusing the menu, which is on the smaller side. That usually means everything on it is rather good, so we had high expectations. We started with the Mushroom Toast, Ember Roasted Carrots, and Beef Tartar. I'll start with the bad and finish with the good. The Ember Roasted Carrots were a complete miss. They were trying to go for a middle-eastern flavor, with each ingredient contrasting, while the carrot served as the centerpiece to flavor. I found this to be INCREDIBLY bland. The carrots were not salted enough during roasting and lacked enough char. They dish also needed more labneh than it was served with. It literally just tasted like carrots and yoghurt. Honestly, if I could only give one critique it would be to have used more salt, but this dish was a real disappointment. The Beef Tartar suffered from a similar issue. It was bland. Not enough salt was used. It unfortunately tastes like flat beef. I overheard the bartender talking to another couple and he told them they really want to highlight the ingredients. The idea is purity or something like that. And that's well and good, but you still need to season beef tartar. I don't think this is necessarily a poor execution of the dish(es) rather this is more in line with the philosophy of the kitchen, and that's fine. It's just not for me. And now for the good. The Mushroom Toast was great. It had all the things I had wanted. Fat, salt, umami, freshness. This was a good dish and I would get this again. As for the entrees, my husband and I ordered the Cappelletti and the NY Strip. The Cappelleti was the strongest dish of the night. The flavors were layered and intentional. This was a great dish and I1000% would get it again. My husband ordered the NY Strip along with bone marrow. It was cooked to perfection. Cooking it over a wood fire gave it a great char and almost Smokey flavor. It was very flavorful. The chimichurri made the steak feel lighter than it actually was. My husband loved it and I loved having a bite or two of everything together. This was a complete dish and I'd highly recommend it. The only knock I could give it is the bone marrow. There was a lack of volume in it which is probably due to being cooked over a wood fire. Parts of the bones were also over roasted. I'd skip this the next time and get the foie gras pate. Lastly, for desert we were disappointed that we could not try the rice pudding as they were out of it (we will try it the next time if available). We did however order the Flourless Chocolate Torte to share. It was made perfectly. It was rich and decadent but remained light. It was almost like a mousse, but not quite. We loved it. Overall, the had a great time. There were several highlights and I think they make up for the a couple of the earlier dishes. I'd like to see what else they have to offer when they change their menu.

The chicken, mashed and greens took second place (but I'll give ya a pro tip chef: the longer you cook your greens, the better they are). The salmon was a distant third because everything bagel seasoning is a lot after a while, and the veg was uninspired. Our TL:DR recommendation is come for cocktails and poutine. The food is wildly…read moreinconsistent; sometimes, we're surprised at how good a dish is (usually a special or seasonal dish), but if we order it again, it's never the same. The biggest issues: - Many things seem to have a lot of oil involved. From the side vegetables to the burgers to the "garlic bread" served on the side of the pasta dishes - there's a strong, oily taste. It's not a pleasant oil - my guess is it's ostensibly neutral, like a vegetable or canola, though it leaves a flavor that suggests it's not entirely neutral. Perhaps a fake butter? Why it's so ubiquitous is anyone's guess, but it leaves an unpleasant film in your mouth. While I understand restaurants use a lot more oil/butter than home cooking (it's often why we like restaurant food better), this oil is not good. - The fries. I guess some people like them; I loved shoestring fries as a kid, but these aren't the same. They have no flavor (aside from the aforementioned oil), and they're the consistency of McDonald's fries, but drier and harder. Recently, we got an order that came with a new, more traditional style fry, and they were so good. We were excited that they finally ditched the cardboard variety but that apparently was a one-off - today showed that they seemed to revert to the old style, unfortunately. - They had an amazing chicken bacon ranch pizza for a while, until one day when it was gone. I think the secret was smoked Gouda, but whatever they used, it was a great pizza. When it disappeared from the menu, I inquired and was told, "oh yeah, lots of people are asking for that." So I said, "is it coming back, then?" I was told it's "doubtful," which kinda sums up my experiences there. Everyone loved it and wants it back? Better get rid of it, then. - The kids menu options are somewhat insulting to children. The "grilled cheese" uses what appear to be hamburger buns, so carelessly made that they seldom match up (that is, the top will be skewed off so the sandwich isn't put together). The kids pasta dishes are just plain noodles, usually undercooked, with no seasoning (i.e. salt) or other attention to preparation. The inconsistency is really the biggest issue for me. Things range from "fine" to "bad," but even if you stick with one menu item, you don't know what you're going to get. Non-chain, family-friendly restaurants are seemingly hard to find in this area, so I really wish they were better. We've kept at this place far longer than we probably should, again due to convenience, and because every now and then, a dish will be surprisingly good. However, those instances are becoming so rare, I think we're done for a good while. I do hope they improve.

I didn't realize they had a different menu for lunch and dinner so I was pleasantly surprised to see some new options than what I am used to. I had an espresso martini with peanut butter cold foam and I wish I could taste the pb but still delicious. My friend and I both ordered chicken and the pieces were huge and so delicious!! We had a reservation for a Friday night and i'm glad we did because the place was packed, which it normally is! We were even 15 mins late and they were super nice about it and had no problem keeping our table for us. All the staff are very friendly and can give an answer to any question on the menu very quickly. I really do like everything about the preserve and will keep coming back! It's also nice they have a parking lot and don't have to street park.

So this isn't going to be a review so much about the food, but our experience. As you read you are…read moreprobably going to be like "yeah so why 4 stars??" Well here goes... I booked a reservation for 5:15pm as we had an appt at the theatre but we were running a little late due to weather and arrived around 5:35. I did call ahead to let the restaurant know and they were fine. We arrived and were promptly seated. The restaurant was quite busy. Our server greeted us and was lovely. We put our drink order in and then apps and food a bit later. We expressly told the server that our show was at 7:30 and her response was "good to know!". Then things went sideways. The drinks were very late to the table but the server apologized. They were rather tasty though and she convinced me to try a new Roku gin which I did! Good choice! The mozzarella app came promptly, it was tasty though pretty common. Then...we waited...and waited..and waited. 20min- 30min- 1 hour. We had been told that their new menu premiered today, and the server was also running around like a chicken with her head cut off. We later were told that they had cut a server earlier because they had not anticipated being as busy. Ooooops!! No bueno! The other issue was that our server, had tables all over the restaurant. Not in a specific area but like all over. Being that our show was at 7:30, at around 6:50 after speaking with the manager the food arrived. Here is the good part- The manager was AMAZING. She knew that the restaurant was in the wrong, she knew they were unprepared and she took action. She along with our server got the food to us with copious apologies and she made it right. I will leave that there- SHE MADE IT RIGHT. My brother was in the restaurant business for many years and explained where the failures happened - a new menu and lack of staff and why the mixture was not a good combination when unprepared. I asked if the owner happened to be in the restaurant at the same time and I was told yes, but that they were in a meeting discussing sauces. Lord have mercy! That bothered me, considering that there were problems in the dining room and the owner was nowhere to be found, but at the end of the day, the manager and our server really rose to the occasion, took care of the issue, apologized profusely, and we left feeling as though we were taken care of even though we had to shove our food down our faces in order to get to the theatre. Will we go back? Yes, of course - we will give them another chance but more over the owner needs to recognize that there was a problem that likely there will continue to be a problem unless they learn from the mistakes with his or her management team so that these things do not continue to happen. One thing our server did say to us is "we really enjoy and appreciate the feedback that we get so that we can pass that along in the hopes that management and ownership will listen to us, and these things won't happen again; she was embarrassed. We told her not to be. We tipped her highly because we felt that this was not her fault at all; that this was the fault of ownership and management not properly juggling all of the balls in the air to make a smooth evening for everyone. As we left we noticed that the restaurant was even more jam packed than when we arrived- I do hope that things got a bit smoother!

NOW!…read more Don't be fooled by the looks of this place, I promise you, you will receive some of the best food you've ever had in your life! I stopped in on wing Wednesday, and boy, oh boy, was I in for a treat. On Wednesdays, their wings are .75 cents per wing, a minimum of 10 per order. So, in true foodie fashion, I decided to order some for "now and later." I chose their Val wings, Salt & Pepper, and Korean BBQ. We also ordered a Cheesesteak, I had been told by 2 people that this was the best cheesesteak in town, and I just had to try it for myself. Let's start with their wings. Are they a great value ? Yes! Were they amazing? Also, yes! These wings were simply great. Great size, great flavor profile, just great across the board! I can't imagine coming here and not ordering their wings. So good! You're probably thinking, well, what about the cheesesteak... well, I can assure you that the 2 people who suggested I try it did not steer me wrong. This cheesesteak was delicious!!! Full of tender steak, toppings, and loaded with cheese just how I love it. To make matters even better on Tuesdays, you can order a loaded cheesesteak & fries for only $8. The Old Ledge is truly a hidden gem. Great atmosphere, amazing bar staff, and a phenomenal cook!
