Grilled cheese with sweet potato fries
Ella L.

Evergreen is a consistently great choice for chill, welcoming vibes and elevated bar food. They offer a full bar and a long list of beers and ciders. I really enjoy their cocktails and my friends love picking out a local brew. Their menu includes plenty of gluten free and vegan options. The wait staff and the chef are really well versed in allergies and always explain whether a dish has potential contamination. This time we got the short rib nachos to share. They were large enough for 2-3 people and were a fun take on bar nachos (short rib and gravy with tomatoes, jalapeños, and onion). I got the chicken bacon sandwich. Really enjoyed the bacon jam. My friend got the grilled cheese with sweet potato friends and had no complaints. The sweet potato friends were excellent and would definitely recommend those if you're getting a sandwich or burger. I love that they're open late, the staff are always friendly and attentive, and their food hits the spot!

This is such a cute little restaurant on the outskirts of armory. When we went in there was only a couple tables full but more came after us. We were looking for something after the night market at sky armory. We decided to just do a bunch of appetizers. The Brussels sprouts were good but they could have used a dipping sauce, the burrata was soooo good and a great app idea, and the French fry flight was amazing. I thought I might only like the ranch dipping sauce as chipotle and Thai chili crema didn't seem too appealing but they were my favorite. The waitress who appeared to be the only one was very friendly and attentive. If you're looking to not wait 2 hours in armory this is a quick walk.

chicken and waffles

Evergreen is one of my go to for chicken and waffles. The waffle wasn't as crispy as I'd like it but the bacon was crispy and the jalapenos added a nice kick to the dish. Top it off with syrup and butter and the dish is divine! My friend ordered the shrimp and grits and the shrimp looked amazing! Service was also great, our waitress was very attentive and down to earth.

Great night at The Evergreen for their special Lobster and brew night. Buy 2 brews (not sure if it was draft only, but that's what we had) get a 1.5 lb lobster for $15. No sides, but it was only $8 for a side of salt potatoes and corn which we split. The lobster was cooked perfectly and every piece came out tender and very easily.I tried one of the sours from Maine, just ok. But the Stout I shared was amazing Peanut butter, coffee and chocolate. Also our service was above and beyond....the 2 young men, covering the entire restaurant when we got there, were outstanding.

I wanted to fall head over heels for The Evergreen, but it was just like... pretty good for the area. I am SO SO happy they have vegan options, although the current menu seems lighter than what I read online ahead of time. And they ran out of a few apps that my husband wanted. The space itself is really nice, cozy, and comfortable. Parking was also a breeze. The staff was amazing! Super welcoming and attentive. The 3 stars really all boiled down to the food for me. My BBQ Tofu sandwich was just okay. The ciabatta bread wasn't toasted. And they put the sauce on the bun like you might find at a fast food joint-- just a little in the middle. The sandwich lacked the slaw and pickles that were described on the menu. And the fries had an odd sweetness to them with the seasoning... I prefer more savory fries. The cauliflower appetizer left something to be desired as well. It wasn't saucy enough. Just lacking a little bit overall. My husband's steak frites was devoured, but it looked like a steak you would get from a $5.99 casino deal. I really want to LOVE this place, but it just wasn't what I imagined.

Go Froth Yourself (espresso martini)

I came by myself because I had time to kill. Food: I ordered the stuffed portobello, which was creamy and garlicky and amazing, if also quite heavy. I couldn't finish it, but no regrets. 10/10 Drinks: Ordered a "Go Froth Yourself" which is a dressed up espresso martini. It was obvious from just one drink that the bartender absolutely knows what they are doing. They have a solid beer list, but live a little. Try a specialty cocktail. Service: Had to wait a long time to be seated, and an even longer time for the check. On the one hand, they were super busy. On the other, they are probably always busy--I came on a Wednesday night!! Get more wait staff! I don't blame the server for that though. Vibe check: Noisy, social. Mood lighting but not what I'd call romantic. Just a really chill place

Cowboy burger with side of house salad. BLT with a side of Caesar salad.

A good stop for dinner on a Thursday night. They had ample outdoor seating on a less busy street downtown. I ordered the Cowboy Burger special. It was over cooked, but I enjoyed the candied jalapeños with it.

A classic Caesar with a twist the dressing was house-made and had that anchovy punch I love. The croutons were crispy but not too hard, and they weren't shy with the shaved parmesan. I added grilled salmon, which was flaky and flavorful. Nice light lunch option.

Fish tacos

I've been here twice. I like that there's outdoor seating during the summer months. The food is not consistent, but it's decent. The nachos were mediocre. They definitely have to.add some ingredients or do a "build your own nachos" option. I got fish tacos and they were OK but once again, very bland. I had to add a lot of extras to them to make them tasty. Thats just my own preference though, because I like flavorful and spicy food. I'm guessing they cook to satisfy everyone, but I would appreciate a more unique menu at this place. I heard their burgers are absolutely bomb though. Def try it out if you're in the area!

Come for the drinks but not for the food. After reading reviews and thinking we'd have a chill night after a long drive, I had a good beer on tap and the mojito was good. But ... Meh! That's the reaction I had for the food tonight. Menu for beer and drinks is online. Beer chalk board wall has more, so we started with drinks. Mojito used fresh limes (as we were told) but were ok but didn't blow our socks off and tart but a bit on the weaker side. Nice draft to quench the thirst! Cauliflower wings were good and comes with ranch and blue cheese, I think. Chicken nachos were mediocre using shredded chicken that's likely for the tacos and I'd have liked more salsa bits since they were best on the plate. At $13-14 each, they're not worth it IMHO. Caprese salad was large but I didn't taste it. Spicy chicken sandwich with fries looked better than it tasted. Meh was the response I received. And that's what I said about my Evergreen Burger ... the second one that is, since the first one was served chill cold with limp cold sweet potato wedges. Second one was warmer with hot potatoes, but it fell flat. Was it due to having limited staff, who knows but it' was early on a Saturday night way before the rush, so no excuses. The chicken risotto looked good but don't expect a culinary experience. Seating inside was comfortable and some outdoor tables, too. Can't say I'd make my way back too soon.

They were also so kind to give me a complimentary glass of prosecco to celebrate my birthday. Wednesdays are $2 off all cider and wines so my friends enjoyed that deal as well. The Wedge changes their menu on a weekly basis so I was excited to see what was on this weeks menu so naturally we had to get multiple dishes to share in order to try as much as possible. We ordered two pasta dishes, truffle fries for the table, and brussel sprouts to share family style and we didn't leave a crumb behind! All the dishes were more unique than a typical pasta dish you may find elsewhere which was extra fun and soo delicious! The brussels were so soft and topped with so much flavor. I would love to come again to try their brunch menu and continue coming throughout the year to try many new items as their menu rotates. I really wanted to try their mac and cheese so I am determined to come back at the right time for that one!

Cocktails were imaginative with a wide variety. Personally tried to Ceasar Salad Martini for something different and the Berry the Hatchett for my favorite kinda of of cocktail. Spicy! Loved both. Ceasar Salad Martini truly tasted like a light ceasar salad. All the food was fantastic, shrimp bisque, poached pear salad, steak with fabulous mashed potatoes, and one of the best lava cakes I've ever had and a shockingly good combo of Basque cheesecake and blood orange. And not to mention their cheese platter to start the night! Staff was friendly. Inside is cute and cozy, feels like an upscale Cafe with adorable artwork. Great place for a special occasion or just a catch up date night. Cannot wait to go back.

We use Resy, and...either the hostess misheard our party size, didn't really care, didn't really doublecheck to read our actual reservation, or whatever man, that's just your opinion. So, the backroom might have been a bit better suited for us olds, we were ushered into the front room. Not the window, but pretty darn close. Again, fun for people watching, inside and out. But damn it kids, if you have a DJ, I want to talk to Sir Vibes A Lot and ask them how they think thumping house music actually aids in digestion? Maybe I unconsciously started chewing to the unrelenting 4/4 beat, anything's possible. Now onto the menu, and back to the identity crisis. Like a lot of places, the York has a broad spectrum of offerings. Burger. Nashville Hot. Multiple pasta options. Sure, sure, sure. The porkchop with kimchi fried rice was the clear winner, hands down. The chicken, mashed and greens took second place (but I'll give ya a pro tip chef: the longer you cook your greens, the better they are). The salmon was a distant third because everything bagel seasoning is a lot after a while, and the veg was uninspired. Our TL:DR recommendation is come for cocktails and poutine. The poutine satisfied by itself. Our server was great- thanks, Destiny!

It's not uncommon for a new restaurant to impress the first time, only to fall short on subsequent visits. Touché, however, proves to be a welcome exception. Their continued commitment to quality, creativity, and classic French influences remains evident in every aspect of the dining experience. Several days before our reservation, I received a courteous text from the charming and attentive hostess, Bridgette, requesting details about the members of my dining party, including names and dietary restrictions. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by name and seated at a table adorned with a personalized name card--an unnecessary but thoughtful and memorable gesture that set the tone for the evening. I selected the very reasonably priced three‑course prix fixe menu ($70), while the rest of my party opted for the Steak Frites. My starter, a colossal scallop, was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked. While the nettle purée could have used a touch more vibrancy, it still complemented the bright yuzu dressing well. The main course--a perfectly cooked half duck breast accompanied by roasted celeriac purée and a currant‑cassis jus--was a standout. The deep berry notes paired beautifully with the richly rendered duck fat. Although I typically gravitate toward savory dishes, the dessert was an impressive finale: a Sablé Breton with blood orange cream, thyme Chantilly, thyme jam, and a rocher of coffee ice cream. The combination of sweet, salty, and herbaceous elements was wonderfully balanced and thoroughly enjoyable. I was fortunate enough to try a few bites of the Steak Frites, which did not disappoint--nor did it for the other members of my party. Our meals were complemented by excellent cocktails from the well‑stocked bar. The bartender was knowledgeable, skilled, and engaging. The open‑concept kitchen is also a delight to observe, and I look forward to reserving a seat at the chef's table on my next visit. One of the ongoing challenges in the Syracuse dining scene, in my opinion, is a general lack of restraint. Touché distinguishes itself with its thoughtful menu design, technical precision, and appropriate portion sizes. We left feeling thoroughly attended to and perfectly satiated. I sincerely hope Touché continues its pursuit of excellence both in the kitchen and in the dining room. Syracuse needs restaurants of this caliber, and I eagerly anticipate their spring and summer menus.
