On the recommendations of many here on where Syracuse eats, we decided on lunch at Eagle Tavern. Great spot! First we started off with the bacon wrapped jalapeños stuffed with cheese and sausage. Tasty and unique! For entrees, Marge had the French dip and I had the grilled chicken club sandwich with pesto. These are not your ordinary run of the mill sandwiches. Both packed a lot of flavors, and raised the bar from the norm. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Good atmosphere with 5 big tvs and sports being broadcasted. Nice background music and sound system. We would definitely return to try other menu items. Check em out!

I have been here a few times before and my husband LOVES their burgers and their sweet potato fries are amazing! However, this time the food wasn't as great as we remembered. My husband said his burger was okay and not the same. Same with the sweet potato fries... it also came out without the dipping syrup. But this time I got the boom boom shrimp wrap and it was AMAZING! It was spicy but not overwhelming and it was so good! The service was good. She only came to our table once when the food came out so I had to wait until the end of my meal to get another drink. But the chef did bring out another thing or chicken tenders since the first batch was a little burnt and my toddler was a little picky with the burnt chicken. The place is a bar so it's not a really good place to go with a family because it's small and doesn't have a ton of seating but again it's a bar not really a restaurant. But it's cool inside and we enjoy going.

I heard that this place opened again under new management and I had to give it a try! The bartender Mike greeted us (with my friends for our weekly lunch) warmly and seated us. Mike was also our server and he was very attentive for having to cover the bar and the tables. The place is small but it was not noisy. The menu is small for lunch (copy in photo) but had some nice choices. I went for the blue cheese burger and instead of fries I got a side salad. The burger was very tasty and the side salad was huge with spring mix lettuce which I like much better than just iceberg lettuce. My friends also were pleased with their lunches. Very happy with the change in this place and will be back again.

So glad we found this hidden gem. Greeted by Brandi, who continued providing exceptional service. Homemade soup of the day was excellent. Sausage with goodies see picture. Spouse had their Greens as her starter, she liked them a lot. Toast pints that came with them were also very good. Spouse went with their Cuban Sandwich and really enjoyed her lunch. I really enjoyed their Firecracker burger with peppers and jalapeno cheese, side of excellent onion rings. If back in the area, we would return or even may drive a little out of our way

Eagle Tavern was fine. A cute little joint that I'm guessing is the kind of place where "everyone knows your name". More of a 3-star experience for me, but it's not them, it was me. I allowed my 16yo daughter to choose tonight's dining locale. She picked this place. Odd choice for a 16yo since it's a local bar, but I figured, they have food so what the heck? We're used to brewpub-type establishments. This wasn't that and I wasn't planning on a beer or cocktail anyway. I don't think this is the best choice for someone stopping in town briefly unless you truly want a "bar" experience. That said, my daughter really liked her pulled pork sandwich (The Eagle) with house made chips. My salad, The Orange, was good, too. I didn't even need the side of dressing it came with because of the balsamic glaze already on the chicken. So, like I said, if you only have one night in town, I'd suggest somewhere in the Armory area of downtown Syracuse... that area looked like it had more selection and a seemingly fun vibe. Eagle Tavern is good, but more of a locals place.

It's great for what it's meant to be: a place to get apps and standard beer and relax. There were older couples all sitting at the bar. I went in and say at a table and the waitress took the mentors l menus after we ordered 2 apps because she was used to that being all that was ordered. The fried cheese curds were fantastic in Buffalo sauce. The Buffalo tater tots were a little crumbly, almost wish I had a spoon instead of fork to eat them to get chicken and celery in the same bite. Service was fast and friendly. It's a great local spot to grab bar food and a drink, but there wasn't a list of mixed drinks or wines or anything, just basic choices.

Food is not that good anymore... the burger is not big enough for the bun. Service is good.

Been here a couple times with friends. First time with just a couple people, and the last time with a larger birthday party. Good experiences both times. It's a very small tavern in a strip mall. You'd probably pass it if you didn't know, there's no sign from the street. Plenty of parking since it's in a strip mall. Both times I've gotten burgers. Both were very good. They have a decent sized menu, plenty to choose from. The burgers came with homemade chips, which are delicious. I'm not a drinker, but from the sounds of my friends, it seemed like they were out of a lot of stuff the last time. It was a busy Saturday night, so that could be the reason. Service is good. I believe I had the same server both times, and even though the second time was with a large party during a busy time, we were taken care of. Nicely decorated inside. Small, tight space though, so it can be tough to get around on a busy night. Nice little place. Definitely worth giving a try.

Even though COVID has limited things, the Eagle is still presenting the best!

I mean, what's not to love good drinks, food, and people. Small neighborhood bar, what else do you need?

The food was great! This is very much a bar, though, with some tables and a great menu. The service was very good.

They brought us warm chips and salsa and our drinks and came back in a little while to take our orders. The food came out pretty quickly and was nice and hot. Service was very good even as it got busier during lunch. My 1/2 Enchilada Supreme came with one cheese and one chicken enchilada, rice and lettuce, tomato and sour cream. It was a decent size lunch portion. My friend had shrimp and rice and vegetables. She said it was cooked well, tasted great and took some leftovers home. The decor was colorful and fun. True Blue Margarita ordered and sipped on while order was being prepared, I think the blue is my favorite at this establishment so far! They will give you a to go cup, as the margaritas are monstrous! I was greeted immediately upon entering and seated myself, drink and to go order both taken promptly. Short wait time for to go order, I do like to have the salsa and chips with the margarita but that came with the to go order this trip. I do think the tortillas were a bit stale this order. I ended up using the salsa with the quesadilla. Great quesadilla wish it came with sour cream, I would love to add jalapeños as well next trip. Supreme Enchiladas good as well, I prefer the chicken. Good amount of food for the price. The portion was plenty to share. I need to remember to add the Guac! I think the dinner meals should add the guacamole with order but I'll be sure to order next trip! Bon appetit!

This place is a hidden gem for sure. I only found them because I turned around there on Wolf…read moreStreet. I'm assuming they're new. The experience was super disorienting, but the food was worth whatever the heck that was. To make it simple, you walk in and place the order at the counter inside. The guy in the food truck doesn't speak English, but one of the guys at the counter will run the order out to him. The first time we went, we walked up to the truck and started to order, but realized the guy was trying to tell us to go inside and order. We went inside and there were four guys at the counter who took my order and told me it'd be ready. I went back and sat in the car for a while, but noticed the guy was just sitting at the window looking out. I was confused, so I walked back to the food truck and he kept pointing inside again. I eventually realized they never relayed my order to him. The guys inside were also not super easy to talk to, but we finally sorted it out, and one of the guys ran out and told him what to make. It'd be cool if they put up some signs explaining what's happening. It was a Saturday, and for a reason I didn't pick up, they don't do fish tacos on Saturdays. I think they said they clean their fryer that day, so weekend options might be limited. We did manage to try all three tacos over two visits. There's a discount if you get three. All of them were drizzled with salsa and cilantro. If you can get the fish, get the fish. The fish is lightly crispy and goes best with the setup. Chicken was a close second, and then beef. The beef was a bit tough, but the chicken and beef were seasoned well and those two contain salsa verde. They should put some roasted jalapenos on the side. They do use regular, probably store bought flour tortillas for these. If they used fresh corn tortillas, they would be unstoppable. I get why they don't, given their space and the complete vacuum of Mexican resources in Syracuse. We also tried lamb and chicken rice bowls, which were absolutely solid. Everything tasted totally fresh. The meat was melt in your mouth tender, and very well seasoned over fluffy yellow rice and several amazing sauces drizzled over it. Normally I like to pause and try to understand the flavor profile of what I'm eating. I genuinely forgot to do that. Once we started on these bowls, we didn't really slow down. The bowls come with a C&C brand soda from the cooler. You can get whatever flavor you're into, but obviously get blue. You need to try this place out. These are some of the best Mediterranean style rice bowls we've had around here, and some amazing tacos as well.
