Stopped in over the holiday season for a cocktail with a friend. Contemporary, lively and festive ambiance! Prompt, and friendly service even on a bustling holiday weekend. Great cocktails and martinis. Many of my friends are huge fans of the espresso martini! I like the cosmopolitan and lemon drop. Maybe I'll try the mojito next! Nothing on the menu really caught my eye this visit. On previous visit there was a crab dip and lobster roll that both looked tantalizing. The London broil sliders have potential maybe with another side other than chips. We opted out of food this trip.

Excellent cocktails , great service at the bar , good vibe and fun scene. I went there wirh a group of friends to catch up , so it may have been a bit too loud for conversation , but other than that, it was great! Even though there are tables to sit, it is more of a "get your cocktail at the bar and chat with people standing up." Not my scene , but cocktails were delicious

WOW!! So impressed with this place! It is the perfect spot for a date night or girls night out. My husband and I tried it for the first time last year, but I was pregnant at the time and could only have a mocktail. They do have amazing mocktails, though, if that's what you're looking for! We had a reservation, but didn't need one as there were several tables available. We were promptly seated and put in our drink orders. The drinks here are like no other place in the area. I went with the Chichenita and my husband had the penicillin. The prickly pear cold foam was amazing. Their regular menu is limited, offering various appetizers, charcuterie boards and paninis, but we went for the Dining Weeks menu. I ordered the crab cake, smothered chicken and chocolate chip cookie. My husband had the stuffed portobello, seafood stew and cheesecake. For a small cocktail bar with an even smaller kitchen behind the bar, we were so impressed with the quality of the dishes. The single chef worked her magic and produced top-level dishes that you would find at a 5-star restaurant. Everything came out hot and stayed warm the entire time I was eating it. Do yourself a favor and don't sleep on this place!

    Chef David's tartare.

The atmosphere was cozy but could see this place being packed and crowded when it's not middle of winter and during school break (we visited early January) The cocktails where great and the bar staff knew their spirits. We were lucky to sit across from the food prep area which gave us the opportunity to watch and talk with Chef David. His menu is out of this world . The small Plate creations were absolutely phenomenal. You MUST try the tartare. We will def visit again next time we are in SYR and hope to sit in the same spot to talk with David.

The vibe when you walk into Tallman Cocktail Lounge is electric and exciting! The food was amazing - best grilled cheese ever! Even though it was incredibly busy the staff was very attentive and friendly. I ordered their best selling cosmo, Clouded Memories. The first sip was incredible and probably one of the best cocktails I've ever had. I will be bringing all of my friends to Tallmans!

What an amazing 4 course menu with cocktail pairings (or mocktails). These were very well thought out mocktails with carefully selected ingredients and flavors. Our menu was themed "Latin America", with a course from Ecuador, Columbia, Venezuela and Mexico. The dishes were plated beautifully, the service was first class. The manager did an excellent job of reviewing each dish and each cocktail. Food allergies were taken into account. The 1st course - Hominy, eggs, cojito cheese and cilantro. 2nd course - Arepa with mozzarella, black beans and avocado. 3rd course - Roast chicken, corn, habanero, plantains, rice and yellow squash. 4th course - Dulce de Leches cake. We also had sorbet between the first two courses. Chef Kiki's food was packed with flavor and expertly prepared. The food and drinks were coordinated nicely. This was a private event, so this is not on their regular menu. They do hold special events so keep a watch on their social media. Check out the website for their everyday menu.

    Espresso Martini time!

One of my favorite places to grab drinks in downtown Syracuse. Right in the heart of the city, there are lots open, along with public parking garages (both for a fee), and on street parking. Walking into Tallman's the vibe gives fancy for sure, but the staff is very nice and attentive. The mixologists are super friendly and take pride in their craft. Tallman's has small plates on their menu to snack on while enjoying one of their many specialty cocktails. Most of the small plates and apps are geared towards seafood, so that's where it misses for me. Having a variety of small plates with less heavy seafood options would give this place 5/5 stars. If wines and specialty drinks aren't your go to, they also have a variety of liquors and beers. A little on the pricey side, but worth it in my opinion for a deliciously made, frothy espresso martini!

I went to Tallman's for the first time a couple months ago. I went with a friend for happy hour, my friend had gone before. I've been dreaming of when I'll be returning hahaha. I started with an espresso martini because I've been seeing it all over social media, I've never had it before. It was delicious, so smooth and definitely can't wait to get it again. Also I'll be trying other establishments versions since I heard not everyone uses fresh espresso. I got the lobster roll slider and it was delicious and for a slider they did not skimp on the lobster meat. My friend got their red sangria, and the burrata and warm olives and she said she enjoyed both. Walking in I love the coziness of the place, we sat at the bar. The price was great for happy hour I would definitely head back during that time or for a light dinner. It is in downtown so parking is on street(pay) or pay to park in a lot (there's one on the same side of the restaurant). This will definitely be a date night spot for my husband and I.

We went to Tallman Cocktail Bar for a group event on a Sunday (a day they are not normally open). The event started with a cocktail hour that they didn't seem prepared for... One of the people behind the bar wasn't very helpful or friendly, but ALL other people at the place were super, super helpful, friendly and professional. The food and cocktails that followed were paired masterfully and made you think about the pairing and flavors, wondering what the chef's thoughts were and why they made those choices. The place is beautifully decorated, with our window seat lit by the outside light. It was lovely. The manager was fantastic as well!

The best espresso martini I've ever had. The perfect place to catch up and enjoy a cocktail with friends.

espresso martini, a lavender gin drink i forget the name of but it was bomb
    Gabby W.

sophisticated cocktail bar on par with something you would find in nyc. very knowledgeable bartenders that can make you just about any drink imaginable and are willing to create something perfect for your palette. their espresso martini is insanely good, the foam is unreal. their cocktail menu is unique, pricey ($15 a cocktail) but the drinks are elevated and they use quality ingredients so it's justified. i cant speak on their food because i have not tried anything, the menu consists of elevated bar snacks that are prepared in a small open kitchen situation to the right of the bar (to be honest the prices seem high for what you would get though) tallman is connected to hops spot so you just walk right through to use their restrooms! great date not spot or for getting a fancy drink to catch up with a friend.

Extra dirty gin martini (dirty vodka in the back)
    Angelita U.

I wish I could give them 5 stars as I typically enjoy the atmosphere (on less busy night personally) and the service is pretty good overall but my only major holdback is prices. I considered a good mocktail as we were hopping around for girls night and I wanted to pace myself but I could NOT justify over $13 for a zero proof cocktail even if it actually contains the zero proof liquors. I definitely understand upscale cocktails costing more than the usual but the drinks seem to consistently go up in price. I spent over $18 before tip on this very small dirty gin martini. I did request Hendricks and was willing to pay the price but it didn't feel great. BUT aside from the cost and how little alcohol I know was in it, it was a phenomenal extra dirty. They took me seriously with the "EXTRA" which is hard to get for some reason. The bartenders aren't the most personable but that probably comes with a busy night so as long as I get a good drink I can let it slide but it does dampen the overall experience a bit. I'll keep it in rotation for a nice drink on a night out very occasionally but it's not a go-to for me.

    Pop up dinner night

One of the best spots in Syracuse. I'd take people here to impress. They host excellent pop up dinners from time to time. Their ever-changing drink and food menu that is served regularly also delivers. They have a great happy hour on weekdays. They handle private events expertly. Can't recommend them enough.

The Wedge changes their menu on a weekly basis so I was excited to see what was on this weeks menu so naturally we had to get multiple dishes to share in order to try as much as possible. We ordered two pasta dishes, truffle fries for the table, and brussel sprouts to share family style and we didn't leave a crumb behind! All the dishes were more unique than a typical pasta dish you may find elsewhere which was extra fun and soo delicious! The brussels were so soft and topped with so much flavor. All the food was fantastic, shrimp bisque, poached pear salad, steak with fabulous mashed potatoes, and one of the best lava cakes I've ever had and a shockingly good combo of Basque cheesecake and blood orange. And not to mention their cheese platter to start the night! Staff was friendly. Inside is cute and cozy, feels like an upscale Cafe with adorable artwork. Great place for a special occasion or just a catch up date night. Cannot wait to go back.

Decor-wise, it's luxe lounge, and is a welcome surprise in the Salt City. We use Resy, and...either the hostess misheard our party size, didn't really care, didn't really doublecheck to read our actual reservation, or whatever man, that's just your opinion. So, the backroom might have been a bit better suited for us olds, we were ushered into the front room. Not the window, but pretty darn close. Again, fun for people watching, inside and out. But damn it kids, if you have a DJ, I want to talk to Sir Vibes A Lot and ask them how they think thumping house music actually aids in digestion? Maybe I unconsciously started chewing to the unrelenting 4/4 beat, anything's possible. Now onto the menu, and back to the identity crisis. Like a lot of places, the York has a broad spectrum of offerings. Burger. Nashville Hot. Multiple pasta options. Sure, sure, sure. The porkchop with kimchi fried rice was the clear winner, hands down. The chicken, mashed and greens took second place (but I'll give ya a pro tip chef: the longer you cook your greens, the better they are). The salmon was a distant third because everything bagel seasoning is a lot after a while, and the veg was uninspired. Our TL:DR recommendation is come for cocktails and poutine. The poutine satisfied by itself. Our server was great- thanks, Destiny!

It's not uncommon for a new restaurant to impress the first time, only to fall short on subsequent visits. Touché, however, proves to be a welcome exception. Their continued commitment to quality, creativity, and classic French influences remains evident in every aspect of the dining experience. Several days before our reservation, I received a courteous text from the charming and attentive hostess, Bridgette, requesting details about the members of my dining party, including names and dietary restrictions. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by name and seated at a table adorned with a personalized name card--an unnecessary but thoughtful and memorable gesture that set the tone for the evening. I selected the very reasonably priced three‑course prix fixe menu ($70), while the rest of my party opted for the Steak Frites. My starter, a colossal scallop, was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked. While the nettle purée could have used a touch more vibrancy, it still complemented the bright yuzu dressing well. The main course--a perfectly cooked half duck breast accompanied by roasted celeriac purée and a currant‑cassis jus--was a standout. The deep berry notes paired beautifully with the richly rendered duck fat. Although I typically gravitate toward savory dishes, the dessert was an impressive finale: a Sablé Breton with blood orange cream, thyme Chantilly, thyme jam, and a rocher of coffee ice cream. The combination of sweet, salty, and herbaceous elements was wonderfully balanced and thoroughly enjoyable. I was fortunate enough to try a few bites of the Steak Frites, which did not disappoint--nor did it for the other members of my party. Our meals were complemented by excellent cocktails from the well‑stocked bar. The bartender was knowledgeable, skilled, and engaging. The open‑concept kitchen is also a delight to observe, and I look forward to reserving a seat at the chef's table on my next visit. One of the ongoing challenges in the Syracuse dining scene, in my opinion, is a general lack of restraint. Touché distinguishes itself with its thoughtful menu design, technical precision, and appropriate portion sizes. We left feeling thoroughly attended to and perfectly satiated. I sincerely hope Touché continues its pursuit of excellence both in the kitchen and in the dining room. Syracuse needs restaurants of this caliber, and I eagerly anticipate their spring and summer menus.
