Date night - LOVE the cheese inspired/paired drinks. The mozz stick was $18, but honestly entirely worth it as it was "legit" mozzarella, and we were obsessed with the marinara. The mac & cheese was a little lackluster but still tasty.

Tried The Wedge for brunch and had to return for dinner...it did not disappoint! Such a nice ambiance and they have a fun cocktail menu with a great selection of old-fashioneds. We also tried "Have You Bean to Rio?" and the Sangria of the Moment, which was white with cranberry and bubbles and so good. For dinner we shared the crispy Brussel sprouts and the fall stuffed Delicata squash. The flavors of the sweet squash with grains and feta cheese were amazing. We also tried the house made pasta, mushroom farfalle, which was filling and delicious. We ended the meal with two desserts, a chocolate crème brûlée with a cookie topping, so rich and good to share , along with a fluffy white cake with delicious filling. Can't wait to comeback and try the latest menu!

The Wedge is Sarah Simiele's second cheese-centric business, as you might know her from The Curd Nerd, the small gourmet cheese shop next door. After winning the top cheese competition in the country and turning her shop into a destination for cheese lovers, Simiele decided to expand her business by adding a sit-down, cheese-focused restaurant in April of 2025. Simiele put out a call for thrifted items to decorate the restaurant, and customers showed up with everything from silverware to tables and chairs - the mirror came out of someones bedroom, the U-shaped bar was salvaged from a neighbors basement. The walls are lined with dairy and cheese themed artwork and the bathrooms are labeled Olives and Pickles. I recently visited the Wedge with my wife and some friends and we were all very excited to give it a try, cause who doesn't love the idea of a cheese-centric restaurant? We made reservations for 7PM on a Saturday. Easy on street parking, we were sat immediately and given our menus. The Wedge changes their menu seasonally, and the first thing that stood out to me was that they had mocktails on their menu. As someone who doesn't drink I always appreciate a restaurant that serves mocktails. I ordered a mocktail I can't quite remember the name of, but it was plum flavored and very tasty. The rest of my party all ordered cocktails and were also happy with their drinks. We then all ordered our dishes and unfortunately this is where it fell flat for us. We ordered one of the mac & cheese of the day for the table to share - the servers description sounded delicious. I ordered their risotto, my wife ordered a red sauce pasta dish, and our friends ordered a seafood pasta and a duck dish, respectively. Our food was cooked quickly, but we were all a little disappointed with it. The one thing that we all said, for every dish, from the mac and cheese for the table to our individual mains - not enough cheese. It just kinda blew our minds that we were at a cheese-focused restaurant and not one dish had enough cheese flavor. The pasta that was used in both the mac and cheese and my wife's dish were different, but we really liked them, and my friend who ordered the duck said his was cooked perfectly. We both ordered a desert to go, and my wife and I loved ours - a pumpkin spice latte cake, pumpkin spiced caked with coffee flavored cream in between the layers. Our server was great, the restaurant was clean and we enjoyed the thrifted aspect of the aesthetic. Dishes were a little on the pricier side, but we knew and expected that going in. Over all, nothing was terrible, and there were some enjoyable aspects of the food, but it just didn't have that big flavor that we were expecting from them.

I finally got a chance to eat at The Wedge on 5/22. It's a new place on James St, a cheese-centric restaurant opened in tandem with The Curd Nerd. I started with a Golden Hour cocktail. It's not sweet, perfect for me! My entree was Caramelle. It's a nice blend of gorganzolla stuffed pasta with sautéed shallots and spinach, with a beautiful green sauce. The flavors were wonderful. The shallots were large sautéed rings that competed with the pasta. I would have preferred they be caramelized or diced to complement the texture of the pasta. I ate at the bar and enjoyed visiting with the bar tender and my neighbors to the side. Service was friendly and food came out pretty quickly. This is a farm to table place, so everything is fresh, and the menu changes frequently!

A new, amazing brunch spot in Cuse! I love that it's laid back, casual vibes, but not a diner. It's also not super loud, which can be under-appreciated. They do serve cocktails and have somewhat of an unlimited mimosa option. I wish the espresso martini was made with espresso vs cold brew, that would be the one pitfall of our visit. They rotate the menu weekly, so there are always new options. Don't come with your sights set on one dish! The deviled eggs were delicious. They made a Greek flavor that was perfect. We split the savory crepe and huevos rancheros. Both were fresh, rich, and so good. We had enough to take some home for leftovers. We wanted to try dessert, but couldn't make room for it. Our server was very kind and attentive. Overall, would definitely come back again!

The Wedge is a cheese focused restaurant. Similar to some other greats in the area they keep the same menu structure from week to week but will vary the dish. There will be a cheese plate, a wedge salad, a chicken of some kind, mac n' cheese, etc, but what goes into it will change. My favorite thing has been the pastry option from the Starters portion. The gallette and phyllo pie I have had have been incredible - a soft cheese overflowing out from the pastry, combined with cooked fruit flavors. It's flakey, sweet, and just savory enough. The greens I've had have been good, and the soup I had recently had me savoring every bite. The pasta is....well just get it. They specifically have a pasta night on Wednesdays if you want to super cheese-carb it out. I'm not much of a Mac n cheese person so I admit I was meh on theirs but I am the oddball who prefers the violently orange boxed stuff. Like the rest of the menu the beverage menu changes regularly. It will be creative and seasonal, and the bartenders will even make custom drinks based on a prompt you give them. If you're a hard cider nerd this place is for you- they have some super interesting more-than-just-sweet options that can give wines a run for their money. Service is good. If you nab one of the limited bar seats the bartenders are particularly fun to watch to see what they're concocting. I thought the noise level was fine and conversational even on a busy Saturday night. The interior design is a collection - tables, chairs, and tableware literally collected from the Eastwood community the restaurant resides in. It is a smaller restaurant so reservations are strongly recommended. The bathroom I used was large, had a fun olive and cheese mural, and seemed like it may be good for those who use mobility devices. Parking - for cars it's street parking. Mind the signs though! On the side streets it's alternate side. There are bike racks down the block at Kinney Drugs for visiting bike riders. The restaurant is on a regular bus line.

Love that Small Business Saturday allowed me to visit the wedge! The Raclette plate was flavorful and cocktails delicious! Can't wait to come back for brunch!!

The decor at The Wedge is eclectic and homey, making a unique and inviting setting for dinner. Eating off of mismatched plates and different styles of seating felt like having dinner at a family home! You can tell this place was put together with a lot of pride and a lot of love! So much personality. We ordered the goat cheese galette for an appetizer, and the waitress let us know it would be a little bit of a wait (10-15min). It was SO worth it, absolutely delicious, and freshly baked. This was my favorite dish of the night. We got gnocchi and chicken entrees, plus drinks and dessert. Every dish was well composed and all the staff were very friendly! Great selection of cocktail specials, beer and wine, and NA or low alcohol options too

The vibe of this place is great. From the bathroom artwork down to the fun mismatched plates. Have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the chance last night. The drinks were a little wild with cacio e Pepe and mushroom gin but the white sangria was amazing. We got the pimento cheese dip, fries, grilled cheese, Brussels sprouts, and Mac and cheese all to share. The pimento cheese was definitely the winner with the fries a close second. The Mac and cheese was slightly underwhelming with the noodles being kind of soggy and the cheese not having much flavor. The grilled cheese was good but with the mushrooms were enough I don't think it needed the onions too. I would definitely give this place another try especially since they rotate the menu often.

Gluten free Mac and cheese and gluten free panko breaded chicken cutlet

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This place is an absolute DREAM. The space is cozy and inviting, the dinnerware is adorable, and the food is outstanding. The cocktails are unique and flavorful. The staff are passionate and accommodating. As a cheese lover, I wish I could eat here every day. And a special shout out - I am gluten/nut free and was able to have delicious gluten free Mac and cheese with a gluten free chicken cutlet, which I can't get anywhere! I also requested a small charcuterie board with just cheese and meats which they accommodated without issue. Will be coming back!!!

This was opened by the owner of the Curd Nerd and is right next door to it. They have a huge drink menu and I learned that they have a new creative $10 cocktail every day. The food menu rotates frequently. We ordered the deviled egg appetizer which was delicious!! The server told me that they switch the flavors in that app frequently as well. Due to some poor scheduling on my part, I was on a huge time crunch and needed to leave much earlier than my family. I told our server this, and she was still able to get me poached eggs and sausage super quickly so I could eat before I had to leave. I really appreciate how accommodating they were. They made brunch possible for me in my tight schedule and I am very thankful. I will definitely come back here for a proper meal. Would highly suggest this place for brunch or dinner!

We came on a blustery winter evening and were so thrilled! The Wedge offers a very curated menu revolving around fancy cheese- any sane persons dream! Servers were so friendly and educated about the drink and food selections, and the food itself was such a fun treat! We loved the variety. Definitely worth a try!

Be sure to make a reservation as we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The food was amazing! The presentation was delightful and appetizing. The server was attentive to our needs. We shared all of our dishes and there was plenty of food to be satisfied. The restaurant was packed and it was loud. Could barely carry on a conversation. Parking is on the street. I enjoyed our meal a lot! I will come back if we are in the area.

Once again, it was outstanding. Great service great atmosphere and the food is superb. The price is worth what you pay for. If you have not come here yet, I strongly suggest it. It may be expensive, but the experience is hard to beat. One of my top five favorite restaurants of all time.

I was genuinely looking forward to dining at what is often described as "the best restaurant in…read moreSyracuse," especially for their Valentine's Day prix fixe experience. Unfortunately, based on our visit, I do not anticipate returning. While I do have several culinary critiques--such as paying for the luxury wine pairing only to receive a bold Burgundy alongside Linguine and Clams, or seeing "Caviar" listed on the menu and discovering it was actually Bowfin roe--these are ultimately matters of taste and expectation. Likewise, the eclectic menu progression, shifting from Korean/Asian-inspired starters to Eastern European notes and then unexpectedly into Italian influences, was unusual but clearly stated ahead of time. SEE UPDATED REVIEW FOLLOWING THIS SECTION SPECIFICALLY RELATING TO "SERVICE FEE". What was not clearly stated--and what I believe crosses into dishonest practice--was the service fee. The menu advertised on Instagram included fine print noting a 3% service fee. That seemed reasonable. However, the check we received instead included a 22% service fee, which is a significant and unexplained deviation. This is not a simple oversight. The terms presented online at the time of reservation did not match the terms presented at the restaurant. (UPDATED REVIEW: Following my review, one of the owners of Noble Cellar reached out to discuss my experience. We had an in‑depth, thoughtful conversation about the complexities of New York State restaurant laws, particularly those governing how front‑of‑house staff may be tipped and how back‑of‑house employees may be compensated. While we were in agreement that the language surrounding the service fee was confusing, our discussion gave me a clearer understanding of the intent. I now feel far less certain that the discrepancy was malicious or deliberately deceptive. That said, it should have been made much clearer to diners that the service fee included what is traditionally understood as gratuity. Transparency in this area is crucial for maintaining guest trust, and clearer communication would have prevented the confusion I--and likely others--experienced. I want to commend the owner for reaching out directly and taking the time to address each of my concerns. His willingness to engage, listen, and provide context demonstrated genuine integrity. We also discussed my other critiques in depth, and it was evident that he was sincerely interested in my perspective and committed to further elevating the experience they aim to provide. I was invited back to experience a standard service, and I appreciate the opportunity. I look forward to giving Noble Cellar another chance and hope to update this review again following a future visit.) Our total bill was $599, including a $100 "service fee." I still chose to leave a $100 tip, as our server was attentive and should not be held responsible for management's decisions. In the end, we spent $700 for two people--paired with the added disappointment of feeling misled. I have photo documentation of both menus, and the discrepancy is unmistakable. I will be reaching out directly to ownership and management regarding this issue. Until then, I feel compelled to leave a 1-star review, as this level of inconsistency and lack of transparency is unacceptable. Without the inflated and undisclosed fee, my rating would have been closer to 3 stars, based on the food and overall experience.

Another outstanding meal at my favorite syracuse restaurant…read more Enjoyed some time this Friday with special people as we sat and enjoyed an exquisite dining out. I was the only returning patron, the others much enjoyed their first time here. Walking through the front door you're instantly hit with a wonderful smell of food cooking over an open fire. Got a terrific table to look out the window and enjoyed a nice evening view. Took full advantage of every food meal course available. Started out with their evening appetizer of homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Each of us got our own dinner choice along with small plates to start. The two small plates were green lentil salad and ember roasted carrots. Both of them with their unique flavor and style. The green lentil salad featured heirlooms. The ember roasted carrots featured labrieth, doqqa, and maple syrup. Keep in mind everything here comes from local farms and local breweries and distilleries. Big fan of supporting the state and local community. Fantastic! They feature only a few main entrées, tonight's included halibut, steak, chicken, and sea Island peas with jasmine rice. Knowing how well seasoned their steaks are, I went with a filet mignon 10 ounce. Probably a little more than I should've gotten, but I very rarely eat steak and know how well and good they are here. Ordered the steak medium to medium rare and that's exactly how it came out. Mouth watering delicious. Along with the steak includes mashed potatoes, chimichurri, kale, and. crème fraiche. Every bite was outstanding. One of us got ice cream for dessert which she said was very good. The ice cream was made right there at the restaurant. We kicked off the dinner with a rum cocktail and a tequila cocktail. All spirits locally sourced. If you haven't tried it here yet you should. You will not be disappointed.

We were promptly seated and ordered glasses of wine while perusing the menu, which is on the smaller side. That usually means everything on it is rather good, so we had high expectations. We started with the Mushroom Toast, Ember Roasted Carrots, and Beef Tartar. I'll start with the bad and finish with the good. The Ember Roasted Carrots were a complete miss. They were trying to go for a middle-eastern flavor, with each ingredient contrasting, while the carrot served as the centerpiece to flavor. I found this to be INCREDIBLY bland. The carrots were not salted enough during roasting and lacked enough char. They dish also needed more labneh than it was served with. It literally just tasted like carrots and yoghurt. Honestly, if I could only give one critique it would be to have used more salt, but this dish was a real disappointment. The Beef Tartar suffered from a similar issue. It was bland. Not enough salt was used. It unfortunately tastes like flat beef. I overheard the bartender talking to another couple and he told them they really want to highlight the ingredients. The idea is purity or something like that. And that's well and good, but you still need to season beef tartar. I don't think this is necessarily a poor execution of the dish(es) rather this is more in line with the philosophy of the kitchen, and that's fine. It's just not for me. And now for the good. The Mushroom Toast was great. It had all the things I had wanted. Fat, salt, umami, freshness. This was a good dish and I would get this again. As for the entrees, my husband and I ordered the Cappelletti and the NY Strip. The Cappelleti was the strongest dish of the night. The flavors were layered and intentional. This was a great dish and I1000% would get it again. My husband ordered the NY Strip along with bone marrow. It was cooked to perfection. Cooking it over a wood fire gave it a great char and almost Smokey flavor. It was very flavorful. The chimichurri made the steak feel lighter than it actually was. My husband loved it and I loved having a bite or two of everything together. This was a complete dish and I'd highly recommend it. The only knock I could give it is the bone marrow. There was a lack of volume in it which is probably due to being cooked over a wood fire. Parts of the bones were also over roasted. I'd skip this the next time and get the foie gras pate. Lastly, for desert we were disappointed that we could not try the rice pudding as they were out of it (we will try it the next time if available). We did however order the Flourless Chocolate Torte to share. It was made perfectly. It was rich and decadent but remained light. It was almost like a mousse, but not quite. We loved it. Overall, the had a great time. There were several highlights and I think they make up for the a couple of the earlier dishes. I'd like to see what else they have to offer when they change their menu.

I had the pleasure of returning to Touché for a second visit on Saturday evening, and once again,…read morethe experience was exceptional. It's not uncommon for a new restaurant to impress the first time, only to fall short on subsequent visits. Touché, however, proves to be a welcome exception. Their continued commitment to quality, creativity, and classic French influences remains evident in every aspect of the dining experience. Several days before our reservation, I received a courteous text from the charming and attentive hostess, Bridgette, requesting details about the members of my dining party, including names and dietary restrictions. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by name and seated at a table adorned with a personalized name card--an unnecessary but thoughtful and memorable gesture that set the tone for the evening. I selected the very reasonably priced three‑course prix fixe menu ($70), while the rest of my party opted for the Steak Frites. My starter, a colossal scallop, was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked. While the nettle purée could have used a touch more vibrancy, it still complemented the bright yuzu dressing well. The main course--a perfectly cooked half duck breast accompanied by roasted celeriac purée and a currant‑cassis jus--was a standout. The deep berry notes paired beautifully with the richly rendered duck fat. Although I typically gravitate toward savory dishes, the dessert was an impressive finale: a Sablé Breton with blood orange cream, thyme Chantilly, thyme jam, and a rocher of coffee ice cream. The combination of sweet, salty, and herbaceous elements was wonderfully balanced and thoroughly enjoyable. I was fortunate enough to try a few bites of the Steak Frites, which did not disappoint--nor did it for the other members of my party. Our meals were complemented by excellent cocktails from the well‑stocked bar. The bartender was knowledgeable, skilled, and engaging. The open‑concept kitchen is also a delight to observe, and I look forward to reserving a seat at the chef's table on my next visit. One of the ongoing challenges in the Syracuse dining scene, in my opinion, is a general lack of restraint. Touché distinguishes itself with its thoughtful menu design, technical precision, and appropriate portion sizes. We left feeling thoroughly attended to and perfectly satiated. I sincerely hope Touché continues its pursuit of excellence both in the kitchen and in the dining room. Syracuse needs restaurants of this caliber, and I eagerly anticipate their spring and summer menus.

She brought us Cucumber water which was absolutely delicious. She told us about specials and about ordering tapas. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. It was a fantastic pour and the light fruitiness of the wine was perfect for the big flavors of the food we were about to explore. Bacon Wrapped Jalepenos. Sometimes I can't handle spice but I'm so glad we ordered these. They were balanced perfectly with all the ingredients and the poblano sour cream dip so that you could taste the flavors and a little heat but it cooled quickly. These "poppers" were crispy and way better than battered and fried! Grilled Asparagus Aranchini. If you don't like Asparagus, try them anyway. It is not an overpowering flavor in this dish. I usually eat aranchini with a tomato sauce but the Lemon Beurre Blanc it was served with was absolute perfection. Shrimp & Grits. Perfectly cooked shrimp topped the most delicious cheesy Grits. Bacon and Scallions put this dish right over the top. Portobello & Truffle Flatbread. Portobello mushrooms, goat cheese, Truffle oil, and arugula. Flavor Bomb! We had our eye on dessert too but apparently we ordered too much food. We were both so stuffed! Marianne checked in with us several times and kept refilling our waters before they were needed. She was one of the best servers I've had in a long time. It had been many years since I've been to Laci's. I can assure you I will go back much sooner this time.

This would have been 4 stars, I try not to throw out 5 star reviews, often, but Ashley at the bar,…read morehelped make it a 5 star dinner. The food was great, potatoes Bravas were good but needed a different sauce. Bacon wrapped jalapenos still amazing. The Bistro Steak was cooked perfectly at medium rare. Salsa added to the flavor. Some heat in the salsa for flavor extra yummy. Steak was excellent. Service at the bar by, Ashley attentive and friendly. Laci's is in an old building that has seating at tables or bar seating. It is a great facility. Lots of history. Upstairs offers a place for private events. Parking in back or on the street. Worth a try, especially if you like sharing various dishes to try. Ps this review is with the current owners. Not under Laura and Cindy's ownership .
