My friend and I went to Laci's last night and decided to sit on the patio. It was a beautiful night. Our server was Marianne. She brought us Cucumber water which was absolutely delicious. She told us about specials and about ordering tapas. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. It was a fantastic pour and the light fruitiness of the wine was perfect for the big flavors of the food we were about to explore. Bacon Wrapped Jalepenos. Sometimes I can't handle spice but I'm so glad we ordered these. They were balanced perfectly with all the ingredients and the poblano sour cream dip so that you could taste the flavors and a little heat but it cooled quickly. These "poppers" were crispy and way better than battered and fried! Grilled Asparagus Aranchini. If you don't like Asparagus, try them anyway. It is not an overpowering flavor in this dish. I usually eat aranchini with a tomato sauce but the Lemon Beurre Blanc it was served with was absolute perfection. Shrimp & Grits. Perfectly cooked shrimp topped the most delicious cheesy Grits. Bacon and Scallions put this dish right over the top. Portobello & Truffle Flatbread. Portobello mushrooms, goat cheese, Truffle oil, and arugula. Flavor Bomb! We had our eye on dessert too but apparently we ordered too much food. We were both so stuffed! Marianne checked in with us several times and kept refilling our waters before they were needed. She was one of the best servers I've had in a long time. It had been many years since I've been to Laci's. I can assure you I will go back much sooner this time. read more

This would have been 4 stars, I try not to throw out 5 star reviews, often, but Ashley at the bar, helped make it a 5 star dinner. The food was great, potatoes Bravas were good but needed a different sauce. Bacon wrapped jalapenos still amazing. The Bistro Steak was cooked perfectly at medium rare. Salsa added to the flavor. Some heat in the salsa for flavor extra yummy. Steak was excellent. Service at the bar by, Ashley attentive and friendly. Laci's is in an old building that has seating at tables or bar seating. It is a great facility. Lots of history. Upstairs offers a place for private events. Parking in back or on the street. Worth a try, especially if you like sharing various dishes to try. What a great evening with friends to catch up. I've never been to Laci's and my friend suggested it for our mom's night out. I sat at the bar waiting for my friends to arrive. The staff was so welcoming as you walk in. The dining area is a bit cozy, they also have seating on their wrap around patio. When I was waiting for my friends I order the jalapeño & pineapple spritzer(mocktail) at the bar. It was delicious and refreshing, I'm not one with spicy things in my drink but the hint of it was enough. As my party arrived we opted to sit indoors. My friends order a house made sangria, fresh mint mojito and I had the black cherry mojito. We all enjoyed our drinks. For the tapas we all chose what we like and shared. We went with chipotle tofu tacos, luscious pig, roasted Brussels sprouts, bacon wrapped jalapeños(not pictured), apple & brie flatbread(opted for gluten free bread, not pictured). For my first time here everything was delicious. I think the one that stood out to all of us was the luscious pig flatbread. The pulled pork and that sauce made the dish. I enjoyed the tofu tacos, I loved the fresh of the pineapple salad. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were stuffed with chorizo so it definitely had a kick but the sour cream helps cool the palate. The apple & brie flatbread was good but too sweet for me but my friends enjoyed it. The service was great, our waitress was so attentive and personable. What a lovely way to spend a night out. I like that I was able to make reservations to go out on a Saturday night. There's nothing worse than going to a favorite spot and finding a long wait when you have tickets to be somewhere. I made reservations for 5:45 and was promptly seated by a lovely hostess. Laci's is such a cozy place with no overwhelming music to interfere with conversation. Our server Katie arrived to introduce herself and gave us a few minutes to look over the drink menu. Katie was friendly and helpful, explaining some of the dishes on the menu. Tapas menus are always fun to read and allow you to taste a variety of different things. Food comes out, one dish at a time which gives time to share and not rush along. We ordered a cold salad and a winter salad, a flatbread, shrimp and cheesy grits as well as sliders. Everything is fresh and made to order and served at the proper temperature. I also tried a cocktail that I loved, a Sparkling Ruby (vodka, Prosecco, and pomegranate). My friend and I dined at the bar post a Yelp event held upstairs. I ordered a Cosmopolitan and my friend a Spanish red off the extensive wine list. The bar tender was friendly and very helpful with recommendations. I ordered Beef Wellington which is a favorite among the many tappas to choose from. It was delight packed in to every bite! Bacon wrapped jalapeños were also on must try list and did not disappoint, my friend enjoyed a flat bread with mushrooms and arugula. My second cocktail I chose a Lemon Drop. Second time here and I couldn't be happier! Came with another couple and we had 9 plates and a dessert each. The atmosphere has been fantastic both times. I think a strong 4 perfectly fits this establishment. First things first, the ambiance is great. It's inside a residential home in the city and it has a very cool vibe. We were greeted and seated right away - we did have reservations and likely you will need them too because it's not the largest venue space, but that's part of its charm. Service was fast and friendly enough. I did not snag pictures of the food this time, but here's what we had. It is Tapas style, so we had a variety. The Chef's Braised Beef was alright. I found the beef to be too try for what the dish demands. I'd skip this. The Beef Wellington was great. I would get this again. The blue cheese with horseradish aioli was a great accompaniment to this classic dish. Well executed. The Honey Glazed Salmon was good, but not worth it for the price. There was perhaps 1oz. of salmon for $17.00....I get that it's tapas, but it was just way too small for the asking price...and it was farmed salmon. SKIP! The Smoked Salmon Pintxo was good. We received three pieces. While the salmon was sliced thin, the flavors reminded me of a bagel with lox, which is something I just haven't been able to find up here. I liked it. The Luscious Shrimp had good flavor, the shishito peppers were good. That's really about it, it was a good dish. Nothing special. The Apple/Bree Flatbread was far too sweet for my liking. The raspberry jam was just too sugary. SKIP. Butternut Squash Arancini - Excellent. I was really impressed with this dish and the amaretto cream sauce went very well with it. I wouldn't even have to think about it, I'd get this again. Mole Calamari Special - I could pass on this. The breading was soggy, but the calamari was cooked appropriately. It was not sliced though, the way you'd traditionally receive it at let's say an Italian restaurant. The mole just wasn't memorable. It actually reminded me more of a Japanese Curry than a mole. Lastly, we had the GF Chocolate Cake. It hit the spot and was very good. I also LOVED their house coffee blend. It reminded me of one of HEB's Texas blends. They had a lot of drink specials running at the time, which were nice. All in all a decent spot, very nice decor. This would be a good first date spot before going out to do something - you know, keeping it light, having a few drinks and engaging in conversation. Will I be back? Visited on a Wednesday evening as a surprise by my daughter and her wife. Was happy that Laci's is back in the old location which has a lot of atmosphere. The only thing I did not care for were the exposed bulbs over the tables in the back dining room. I'm glad I wore my baseball cap to keep the uber bright light out of my eyes. Cocktails were great. Had the sparkling Boulevardier and the coconut water one (can't remember the name). The three of us shared six tapas plates. The standout was easily the Beef Wellington, and then the shrimp and grits. But, everything was excellent. We were all too full to order dessert, so no idea of what they offer. Walking up to the front of Laci's I noticed a beautiful outdoor sitting area decorated with lights. I also noticed a cute door knocker on the front of the red door which was super cute. When you walk in you can either go upstairs or to the right you will see a dining area and then a bar a little father in the back. It's definitely small inside and doesn't have a ton of seating but there is a pretty good amount of seating at the bar which is where we sat. I had a margarita which was perfection and the bartender even asked us how it was to make sure it was to my liking which was super nice. We ended up ordering the Apple and Brie flatbread which was *chef kiss* delicious! The combination of the flavors was perfect. The food did take a little bit to come out but was well worth the wait! Right around the corner from my home it looks like a house actually. It was quiet and quaint and our waitress was down to earth & attentive. Our tapas came out quickly 1 at a time. One of the only small plates places we have in cuse and they do it well! They recommend you order 2 plates per person. They have a large menu with many tempting options, it was a bit hard to choose. We started off with some cocktails. Although Wednesdays are 50% off bottles of wine. My lemon drop martini was delish. My friends said their drinks were good as well. Now for the food; we tried the Spanish sliders, Mac and cheese egg rolls, short rib, ahi tuna, shrimp tacos, and flatbread. Overall everything was pretty good. I'm taking off one star for a few reasons. First, the short rib is ridiculous for the price. $17 for a lump of potato's and one piece of meat is crazy. We couldn't even share this dish. Secondly, the Spanish sliders were okay, but seemed to be lacking a bit of flavor. And lastly, the waitress checked on us once but it was when we were finishing up and at that point why even. The place wasn't busy at all. I may come back here but tbh the short rib really put me off. read more

We enjoyed our time at Laci's. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and accommodated a 6 month old we had with us. The cocktails were very tasty! The food was a little hit or miss. The beet and barrata salad was delicious and had some truffle oil taste to it that paired very well. The beer short ribs only had one tiny bit of meat and mostly mashed potatoes. The ravioli tapas was a bit pricey for the few ravioli you get, and the ravioli were very chewy. I have been to Laci's twice and had a great experience both times. One time I sat at a table and the other time I sat at the bar-excellent service either way. I love trying multiple dishes so this place is perfect for that. Also, someone in my group had an allergy and the staff was very helpful with giving safe recommendations. Went out with my cousins so didn't take pics but I have to say Lacis used to be one of my favorite restaurants but this was my first time back since it reopened and I was pretty disappointed. First when we walked in on a Thursday night it was dead. I don't think I have ever seen so many empty tables there. It was half price martini night so I got a lemon blueberry martini and it was the star of the meal. First course was Thai chili shrimp which were okay but literally three shrimp for $15 which is straight crazy. Then we got Brussels sprouts were good but not amazing and then a Buffalo chick pea flatbread. The flatbread just felt like bread with hot sauce on it. For the second round we got the beet and burrata salad which I did not have any of as I don't like beets and the Mediterranean platter which was okay but I wish there was more hummus. And less veggies. Lastly we had the banana sushi and the cheesecake. The sushi was a frozen banana which was hard to eat and the cheesecake was okay. All in all it was $135 and I have had better meals for a lot cheaper and am sad such a great restaurant has gone so down hill. read more

Definitely not tapas and the food was nothing stellar. It seemed very pre-packaged and processed. The smoked salmon "crostini" had decent flavor but the bread was too thick, not toasted and cold enough to give the impression that it had been pre-assembled and left in a cooler. The flatbreads were okay. They were made on store bought flatbread and, though they had decent flavor, were nothing we couldn't have made at home. Not sure what the overarching hype over the "luscious sauce" is but it seems a bit over used on the menu. The kicker of the night was our waitress. She brought us menus and told us we were a day late for the half off bottles of wine. I overheard her explaining to another table, after we'd ordered, the sharing concept of the menu and advising how much they should order. Later in the meal she came over to fill our water glasses. Mine was pretty far over on the table, well out of her reach and past my wine glass. I started to move it closer for her convenience and she chastised me and told me she'd been at this for 20 years. Apparently not long enough to know how to talk to a well-meaning customer or to offer a towel to wipe up water poured all over the table and my phone. Next time we're in town, we'll be happy to go somewhere different! read more

We also had people walking around filling our glasses of water nonstop and also apologizing that the food wasn't coming out faster, it's just it was so packed and we were fine with that because what came out was amazing!! My favorite 2 things I got that night were the beef Wellington Laci's style and the bacon wrapped dates! The lucious pig flatbread was also so tasty! My friend had the peanut butter surprise and that was delicious!! If you are a peanut butter lover GET IT! Another friend got the lamb- that was the most perfectly cooked piece of meat ever! I wished I had ordered it...but there is always next time since I will most definitely be coming back. The only things I was not in love with was the Mac 'n cheese eggrolls, to be honest I loved the crunch of the outside but it wasn't creamy enough for me in the middle and I would have preferred it a bit more seasoned. Another friend also got the sirloin in bacon butter...I didn't taste any bacon butter on that meat...the meat was cooked to perfection- but it was just a piece of meat to me. If I tasted that bacon butter I probably would have ordered myself one. We had great service! The owner chatted with us on the way out which was sweet. The ambiance, the lighting was perfect, drinks were tasty, a little loud only because it was packed but not loud enough you couldn't hear everyone at a table of 8. Went there with a party of 7 and it was a fabulous experience. The setting is quite comfortable. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and on the point. We ordered several dishes and they were all cooked to order and delicious. The staff was not pushy as in some Tapas establishments could be. The dinner went with a flow and everyone was very impressed and satisfied. If I had to choose the table favorites it would be difficult, but I would go with the lamb lollipops, shrimp tacos, and butternut squash ravioli were outstanding. To finish the night, we had 7 different desserts between us. They were all a perfect way to end a pallet stimulating night. I would say that this would be a home run for a 1st date. read more

We made a reservation and I can see why this is important at the small place, but the bar looked like a great place to eat as well. As for the food, literally everything we tried was delicious. We're ashamed that it took us this long to get to Laci's - and it was certainly our loss! First off, the service was really remarkable. We didn't have a reservation but the hostess sat us right away outside. Our server Maryann was incredibly attentive, brought us samples of the sangria when we couldn't choose which one we wanted (FYI, BOGO sangrías in Thursday's), and gave great recommendations. Everything we ordered was delicious and unique. In particular, we loved the Button Mushrooms and the Mediterranean Flatbread. The flatbread is probably the best bang for your buck, but you really can't go wrong. We can't wait to come back to try more tapas and some of the awesome sounding cocktails. Update: We came back for round two and our parents couldn't stop talking about how amazing the food was. The Peanut Butter Surprise desert is just heavenly.
