If you love watching beautiful sunsets this is the place to be! Outside seating is first come first serve, but you can still make reservations. We started with the New England clam chowder and it was amazing! My husband got the chefs choice which was the short rib, the mashed potatoes were bland but otherwise great plate. I got the Jamin sunset burger which was amazing, messy but so good! Danielle is our favorite waitress there, she is always so attentive and makes every visit a pleasant one. Everything when well with the food, it was takeout. I can't review the service, except my order was ready on time

Before we start about the food, I must say the view is wonderful. Hard to beat sitting out on a deck on a warm summer's night, overlooking a lake. This was my first trip here. It was a good night to enjoy a nice evening outside with good friends and a good meal. Three of the four of us ordered the Friday fish fry. The fish was cod. The portion was good but the fish was salty. The other person ordered the Yak burger and said it was good. We had two appetizers, the Asian and the spinach/artichoke dip. The both were ok. A pet peeve is getting hit with a $6 credit card fee at the end of the meal. No heads up, no warning just a dropped off check with this surprise surcharge on it. This is the first time I've been hit with such a fee on my food. I'm sure there are other restaurants that do the same thing. If the Loft has an issue with credit card fees then either don't except credit cards, charge more for your food, or at minimum give your customers a heads up. read more

More attentive waitstaff would have merited 2 more stars. I had to ask our waitress to refill my water glass and would have asked again if she came by. Why aren't they trained to keep them full? I would also have ordered another glass of wine but was not asked. Major problem was a friend that ordered a gluten free salad and it came with a crouton on it. Is the waitstaff aware that a celiac person eating wheat is extremely hazardous to their health? I hate to complain but this is a serious problem. My husband ordered the French dip with cheese and he was very happy with it. I got the brisket sandwich. Big and tasty, although there were big clumps of fat in it. The side salad was delicious. We were a large party and felt comfortable and The Loft was a great place to meet and converse. Sad about the problems we had and that I felt compelled to give a smaller tip then normal. Went to the loft for dinner on a Wednesday night. I ordered a glass of wine and a yak burger. The burger was delicious! The service was a tad slow but they were super busy and I didn't mind sitting there looking at the beautiful view. I'll definitely be back! read more

We have come here quite a few times over the last 5 years, living just 10 minutes away. I've always given it great reviews for staff and the view. The food has always been " top Sysco" truck stuff - kind of like an Applebee's or something. I don't even know how to put my finger on it. Maybe it's the smaller menu due to 'Rona. Maybe they have a new chef - but WOW!! They've really stepped up their game! The Spinach and Artichoke Dip app was handmade. It wasn't some overly creamed out of a can dip. The ingredients were big and tasty! In fact, I only really have pictures of the after because we ate it so fast! The wife had her usual Steak Salad and the steak was done better than ever. I nervously ordered the Reuben - knowing full well in upstate NY it often is devoid of anything but a tiny bit of Sauerkraut. Everything on this Sammie was perfect NYC grade. The corned beef had a smoky hint to it. The cheese and thousand island dressing were perfectly portioned. The Mac salad side had this amazing mustard taste to it. Drinks were great. Staff picked up on us quick even though we were sitting on a packed deck next to a fairly demanding large party. Always nice and always trying to please. Did I mention the view? We love it so much we literally just bought a house that shares a border with this golf course with the same view! If you are in the area, is it Beak and Skiff, have a tasting, but for sure eat and enjoy the sunset at the Loft! This is a must visit. read more

After reading a review in the current edition of = Table Hopping, my wife and I stopped by on Saturday night, 7/24/2018. We were treated to a spectacular view, some of the best appetizers that we have had - scallops, calamari, and bruschetta, and excellent entrees - Tumeric chicken, and ahi tuna tacos. Chef Larry came out to chat, and we complimented him on the view, food, and service( the cold Fat Tire drafts were great also). Please be aware the restaurant charges a fee for the use of a credit card. Not really told upfront about the fee although was told when I called to complain it was posted on the front door. Notice was not on the menu or warned by server. Didn't notice it until I noticed it on the receipt. read more

What a great surprise. Lived nearby for years and never came till tonight. Wonderful view of Otisco Lake. We had an ahi tuna served on greens and a Slurping Shrimp bowl both of which were excellent. Watchmen the sun set as we ate out on the deck. read more

Not a busy night. One member of our party arrives, stands at bar, is ignored. I arrive, join her at bar, now we are both ignored. We listen to staff complain about a couple that had come in, sat at a table and then left after no one went to talk to them "they should have called to us" seriously?! and we're standing right there, ignored. The rest of our party arrives and we are all ignored until I call out 'hey this is party X reservations' and are told go sit anywhere. well the only table that could seat five of us was covered with dirty dishes. The Loft is a much needed place close to Tully, it is a fun place to meet your neighbors, amazing food, friendly service, family place, watch sports while you eat or enjoying the dining room where they have an amazing view of Otisco Lake and the surrounding hills. This very friendly restaurant not only has great food, a super friendly staff but also one of the the most beautiful views in upstate NY. The golf course sits above Otisco Lake. There is also a large deck which can be used for dining. The sunsets are gorgeous. We have been there for dinner many times and have never been disappointed. Our most recent visit was for a Mother's Day Brunch Buffett that was extremely varied in choices , all of which were delicious. Hope to be back many times during the summer. read more

Had lunch at Vesper Hills last weekend. Being a warm, sunny day, we ate out on the deck to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Even if the food hadn't been so good, we might have have loved the place just for that. The food is casual, and just as wonderful as the scenery: paninis, burgers and salads. My Caprese Panini was made with tasty, fresh ingredients. (My one quibble was with the bread; it was cut pretty thick and didn't taste quite as special as the fresh tomato, mozzarella and pesto inside.) Our waitress was a very attentive, even though she had another party indoors at the other end of the building, and had to dash back and forth between us. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. Ate there last Friday, had the fish fry more breading than fish. No question someone is trying hard to establish a fine restaurant with some beautiful scenery but once you sit down at your table you will quickly see the view disappear as all the windows are installed well above eye level. Ate lunch at The Loft at Vesper Hills last Saturday. The Mullefetto and Smoked Salmon BLT sandwiches rocked! I challenge anyone to fine the same quality food in downtown Syracuse. The remodeled restaurant and great views of Lake Otisco make this a must see place for lunch and dinner. We will come back regularly! read more

If you want a nice dinner, then this probably acceptable, but if they try to tell you that you can have a banquet there- run, don't walk away! Went there for a group gathering (under 40 people). The cost was a little more than $40 a person (this did include a couple of drinks from the bar- but "top shelf" (Jim Bean was considered top shelf) was extra. I figured with the cost of the ticket that this would be on par with lots of other banquets that I have attended. I could not have been more wrong! The main entree food was tasty, but there were was a certain level of ambiance that was missing. The silverware was wrapped in paper napkins, which to me is much more "diner-like", than banquet like. There were no salt or pepper shakers on the table. There was a coffee decanter off to the side, in which you could fill up your styrofoam coffee cup- however there was no sugar or creamer brought out until asked for. For desert, a cake was served (by people attending the banquet) not employed staff, and it might have been the worst cake ever. The frosting had and may still have been slightly frozen. Then to top off the night, I had a drink or two left in my glass and stood up to talk to someone, and the wait staff came by and grabbed my glass. I understand that you want to stay on top of on clearing the tables, but if the event isn't close to being over- then leave the glasses with a couple of swigs left in them on the table. The view is terrific and they do have this great wrap around porch, which has stunning views of the lake. I guess after reading about this place and how much experience the manager had with catering and restaurants, I was really expecting much more from a $40+ a head/banquet price. read more
