In 2009, Morris's Grill closed its doors at 6 W. Genesee St. The village's neighborhood pub's last call was a sign that was taped to the glass. With every closure, every end of a legacy - Morris's lasted more than 60 years - there is a new beginning. That new beginning came through an opportunity sought by LakeHouse Pub owners Dennis Coleman, Joe Goethe and Michael Wamp. His own family's legacy began at 100 S. Lowell St. in Syracuse, as his family began the world-reknown Coleman's Authentic Irish Pub. Both Coleman and Hanover agreed: They didn't want to replicate Morris's, but they didn't want to replicate the Irish pub either. The notoriety of both places, however, fueled the interest that surrounded the lakeside pub leading up to the opening in August 2012. The LakeHouse Pub has a roast beef sandwich on its menu that has a reputation...and as a long time former Clark's roast beef lover, I'm always looking for someone to fill that void again, so when I heard LakeHouse had a close one, me and the wife decided to go. We went on a Sunday afternoon. There was an SU game, so the place was pretty packed, but we were able to sit ourselves immediately. We knew we were going for the roast beef, so we were ready to order when our server came over The pub's signature food item is served au jus on a kimmelwick roll with bears caraway fruits. The menu item can bear read onion, cheddar cheese, mustard and horseradish sauce - which is made by River Rat Cheese, according to the owner. I went for all on mine, with a side of fries while my wife got a side of onion rings so we could try both. The sandwiches were delicious. They are the closest thing to a Clark's roast beef I've had, so we were very satisfied. Fries and onion rings were good, mustard and horseradish had a good kick, the salt in the kimmelwick was plentiful and easily wiped off if you wanted less. Prices were comparable to other similar establishments, service was friendly, really have no complaints. Will absolutely be back for that sandwich again.

    Beef on a weck

Best beef on a weck sandwich this side of Olean, New York. This sandwich is a "go to "at the Lakehousr pub. It's a toasted weck bun with salt and seeds on top. Between the buns rests some nicely cooked and delicious fresh roast beef. If horseradish is your go to, you can get that on the sandwich or on the side. The sandwich comes with a choice of french fries or onion rings. I found the onion rings a solid choice. Good place to hang out with friends, watch the game or just chill at the bar.

Service was great, they've definitely worked out the system for busy nights. Food and drinks were great as usual!

Beef on weck, onion rings and a Guinness!

I heard they have beef on weck. I used to live in western NY, and a good beef on weck sandwich is hard to find in the Syracuse area. It was a sunny day, so I took a trip to Skaneateles, and arrived shortly after noon. I got seated right away, and ordered a Guinness. Then the sandwich. Had onion rings as my side. Everything came out quickly. The sandwich was delicious - love the caraway seeds on top. There was a generous portion of moist, tender, rare beef on the bun. You get au jus, horseradish, and a radish sauce on the side. The onion rings were super hot, crispy and tasty. Server was attentive and friendly! Great lunch on a cold winter day. It's now dinner time and I'm still full from lunch!

We went 7/14 for my sons birthday. It was packed. Just find a spot to sit and someone comes right over. I thought for sure it would be a rough outing but the server was professional & had our order in and out in no time. Chicken fingers were gigantic, shrimp tacos got devoured, and the roast beef sandwich you can't beat for 6$ on a Monday. This is the go to spot in this town for us. Only thing that made it not 5 star was flat Diet Pepsi and well it's bar food so it's not really a 5 star experience. It's a bar so be ready because it can get really loud.

On this hot day it was nice to come into a really cool air conditioned dining room. Waitress said to take any available seat. My friend and I sat at a booth and were greeted promptly. The menu is small but they have a good assortment of things. I knew the roast beef was great because I had it before so I opted for the shrimp tacos and onion rings. It was 2 tacos with fried shrimp, coleslaw and dressing. I really loved the dressing it was spicy but not too spicy. The onion rings were ok they could have had more of a crunch they were falling apart. The service was good, the atmosphere was cozy, dark wood, long bar with a few craft beers on tap. I heard they have 5.00 roast beef sandwiches on Mondays!!!

Walked in and it's seat yourself for lunch. My server was over to see me very quickly, and I didn't need a menu because I was there for the Monday special, 1/2 price Beef on Weck. It is very hard to find this sandwich outside of Buffalo, so I was excited. The roast beef was medium rare, very tender and had been briefly dipped in aus jus. My roll tasted perfectly like the ones in Buffalo, a hard roll with salt and caraway seeds on top. They had a lovely, creamy horseradish sauce, but next time I'll ask for more horseradish. They had a nice beer selection, many local choices. My server checked on me regularly and overall it was a really good. I can't wait to go back and try other things.

Can't say much for the food but the beer was cold and the atmosphere was fun. Seems like a lot of locals. The bartender was friendly.

Cute spot - the old Morris' Pub back in the day. Very good pub food, great service, many drink choices. A nice, dependable go-to.

Rude service. Dirty glasses. Incompetent management. Horrible food. Go to blue water across the street, 1000 times better.

Obviously the main draw is the Roast Beef sandwich but the rest of the menu is also top notch!
