Iced tea in cute mason jar with free refill

I've been wanted to come here to eat for a long time and today was the day. On this 90 degree day it was nice to go into an air conditioned dining room. My sister and I were the only ones in the dining room on this Saturday afternoon. We were greeted quickly and given menus and drinks were ordered. Our waitress was new (she told us) but was very sweet and accommodating. The menu is not big but everything looked good. I ordered the special burger which had Swiss cheese, mushrooms, gravy, bacon and a special sauce. I asked if they had sweet potato fries instead of regular and they do (with no up charge). The burger was delicious and waffle sweet potato fries with maple dipping sauce were to die for. The portions were big and reasonably priced. My sister loved her burger also. I will definitely be coming back!!!!

Had to come check this place out!! So many people have talked highly of the menu. I didn't know what to expect because it is off the beaten path. It is basically a long time bar for the locals. Now it has seating inside and out for the restaurant. The menu has many great options for everyone's tastes. I started with a grilled romaine Caesar salad which was highly recommended. Spot on. For dinner I had to get the catfish with slaw and fries of course. One of my favorites. Perfectly cooked. Others had the creamy tortellini pasta bowl and a steak house burger. Finished with a nice piece of chocolate cake. Finally service was friendly and all dishes came out piping hot. Come check this place out even if it is a long drive. Definitely worth it.

Stopped here for an early dinner before a concert at Kegs since it was only 10 minutes away. It was a cute little, well decorated, restaurant and bar. The bar seemed full of locals and the dining section was quite. The food chicken sandwich was amazing and the sweet potato fries were great! I liked that they included maple syrup! The waitress was nice and friendly. I'd go back if I ever came back to town!

I gotta say, a big part of the reason we stopped by was Reggie who was mentioned in other reviews. As soon as we pulled into the parking area, Reggie was standing there to greet us. He actually escorted us to the front door, and stood there waiting for us or his master to open the door. Smart boy. I had the "Pork Belly & Slaw Sandwich". Mm-mm GOOD! Couldn't finish the generous portion of fries that came with it as we had started with an order of the "You Scream, I Scream, We all Scream for Poutine!" Gotta love the playful names and descriptions of the dishes. We also enjoyed the "Korean BBQ Pork Belly" taco; described as "Kim Jung Un and Pablo Escobar can both agree on this winner". And a "Southern Fried Fish" taco. Owner/cook Dave came out to see who had travelled 4,800 miles to try his food. Reggie sauntered over and affectionately wedged his head between Dave's legs. I asked Dave whether he had trained as a cook, and he replied "no, I just like to eat". My kind of cook. Dave and Tammy are 2 of the most friendly people you'll ever meet. They obviously enjoy what they do, and that makes the food and drink taste even better. We love you too Reggie.

Red Rooster Pub Owens Apple Orchard Burger and fries.

For a roadhouse with a pedigree such as Skaneateles Falls' Red Rooster Pub and Eatery, it's no surprise that an exerpienced restaurateur would be interested in taking over. That's the case with new owner David DelloStritto, whose industry pedigree can be traced to Curley's Restaurant in Auburn, as DelloStritto's grandfather was Curley. The Rooster is across the street from the former Welch Allyn Plant in Skaneateles Falls on the corner of Jordan and Stump Road. The business was founded by Charles Huxford in 1875. In the middle of the 20th century the Rodak family started a long run of nearly four decades as Rodak's until Skaneateles Chef/restaurateur Deborah Schneider reinvigorated the operation as The Red Rooster Pub. DelloStritto took over in 2017. Before going to a movie, the wife and I were in the mood to grab dinner at a new place. The Rooster is relatively close to us and seemed to have good reviews, so we figured we'd give it a try. From the outside, it doesn't look like it'll be much, but don't be fooled...this place has some good food. The restaurant is split into two sections...a roadhouse style bar on one side, a small dining area on the other. The inside has been remodeled, as they've updated the interior, lengthening and refinishing the bar. During this process they uncovered the face of an old wooden cooler that had been walled over and organized the traffic pattern for easier service to the handsome deck, which is attached to the north side of the building, with 3 or 4 tables for outside seating. We were told to grab our own table so we chose one, sat down, and took it in. The inside is just as eclectic as their menu, which consists of burgers to Osso Bucco to pickle fries, catfish, poutine, a Cuban sandwich and many more. We looked over the menu and the wife chose the Owen's Apple Orchard Burger - a burger topped with a slice of sweet grilled granny smith apple, bacon, cheese and their secret onion jam. I chose the Red Pepper Chicken Sandwich - a grilled chicken breast topped with roasted red pepper, lettuce, tomato, cheese, red onion and a house made red pepper mayo. Our food was brought quickly, and we dug in. Everything was delicious. I had a bite of my wife's burger and it was one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. And I just mean the burger itself, not even the toppings. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, high quality meat. The apple slice gave it a nice, sweet crunch that perfectly complimented it. My chicken sandwich was also delicious. The chicken breast had an awesome chargrilled flavor to it, and the homemade mayo and red peppers gave it a wonderful spicy-sweet kick. Their buns for the sandwiches were great too. Delicious, sturdy yet soft Brioche buns. Both came with fries, which were also great. Perfect size, nice crunch, seasoned well. David DelloStritto, the new owner, was stopping at every table and asking customers how everything was. He was an extremely nice guy and very thankful when I told him it was one of the best burgers I'd ever had. Our server was very nice and accommodating as well. Prices were more than fair. Two meals with 1 beer and drink was just around $30. We'll definitely be back and I'd recommend it to anyone to check out.

The food is great but the atmosphere and staff are unwelcoming and seem very flustered all the time.

Really nice bar and restaurant with great food and good prices…read more It's a two page menu with a nice amount of options for vegetarians, although they made my inner-Buffalonian happy when I saw Beef on Weck on the menu. I had a veggie burger and it was pretty tasty! A good meatiness - if that's what you're after. The real star was the fried cheese curds from the specials menu - salty, a hint of sweet from the light glaze on them, crunchy fried outside, and ooey gooey cheesiness. The drink prices weren't listed on the but turned out to be very reasonable. I was at Parker's with a large group and they handled us really well. We happened to be there on night with live music and the two brothers they had playing were great and part of my group kept half singing along while the rest could carry on conversation just fine. The decor is nice- old wood and gorgeous stained glass ceiling lamps that are all different. Everyone had their own favorite. The bar has a patio area that can be opened up in nice weather. Car parking is in on the street. I didn't spot any bike racks nearby but there are sign posts that could serve. It's in a very walkable downtown.

Companion had the fried fish sandwich, even tho we weren't there on a Friday. We shared 2 desserts: the turtle cheese cake and the pbexplosion cake (layers of chocolate cake and pnut butter mousse); the cheesecake was the winner here although both were very good. Actually we each felt as if we had too much chocolate; who ever says that?!

My wife and I had an early Valentine's Day dinner, or late lunch depending on how you look at it…read more The place was already full on a Saturday afternoon in the bar area, but we had our table waiting for us in the dining room. The host was friendly, our server was upbeat and attentive, and the owner came by to chat late in the meal. A truly welcoming experience. We started off with two Black & Tans (Guinness and Harp) and an order of the Irish Fritters and mini potato pancakes. Generous enough portions of both, that we set aside half to take home for the next day. Our entrees were the Irish Meatloaf dinner and the baked haddock dinner. Both arrived perfectly timed and perfectly cooked. Again, we couldn't quite finish them, so we boxed up the remainder for Sunday. For dessert, we opted to drink ours. We ordered a strawberry Martini and a whiskey cocktail named after the title of Ireland's Prime Minister. All in all, it was 2 hours from start to finish, the bill was $110, to which I added a 25% tip. If you're looking for a real taste of Ireland, look no further than Kitty Hoynes.

For dessert we had the gluten free brownie. It came with ice cream and was very good. We were in a corner of the restaurant and the service was a bit on the slow side.

Bottom Line Up Front: Worth the money - YES…read moreFriends and Family Recommendation - YES Yelp Bookmark-able -YES One of my biggest pet peeves regarding dining out is spending good money on average to sub par or poor food. Rest assured, that is not the case when it comes to Stone Creek. From the moment we walked through the front door the staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The decor/ ambiance was a pleasant mix between relaxed/casual to upscale. Nothing fancy or pretentious, but welcoming and inviting. Although I'm a local I've not eaten here until tonight...a point I regret. I'm a steak snob that often finds numerous faults in a steak I get in a restaurant knowing I could do better at home. This was not the case tonight. My ribeye was cooked to perfection, was full of flavor, tender and juicy. That alone would bring me back for more, but the mushroom cream I had as a side was spectacular and took my experience to an all never level of enjoyment. My wife had the seared ahi tuna with a duck confetti fried rice. I sampled it...another success story there. I've read plenty of reviews about the price...but I'm here to tell you that the $ is in perfect alignment with the quality, flavor and portions received. I have ZERO negative comments and for the sake of brevity I can only say this.....I WILL BE BACK!!!

We went to Stone Creek tonight for a birthday dinner. Overall, the food was very good, but the…read moreservice was a bit lackluster. Our waitress was kind and polite, but after we were initially seated, it felt like we were forgotten for a while. She did apologize, and the owner also came over to apologize, which I genuinely appreciated -- I understand that mistakes happen. However, we did mention that we were celebrating a birthday, and while we weren't expecting any sort of spectacle, it was disappointing that dessert wasn't even offered and the check was simply dropped at the end of the meal. As for drinks, the espresso martini was a bit too bitter for my taste. The lavender fizz had a nice flavor, though the texture was more puréed than expected -- not a bad thing, just interesting. The food itself was the highlight. The Brussels sprout appetizer was delicious, and my ribeye was cooked perfectly. The truffle mushroom side was excellent as well. I would give Stone Creek another try because the food was strong, but the service didn't quite match the quality of the meal this time.
