A nice size New York strip, perfectly cooked with sautéed mushrooms on a piece of crunchy garlic bread. First rate onion rings as well. I really recommend this spot if you are in the area. I had Tuscan Chicken. The chicken was unseasoned and the artichokes were right from a can, it seems. There was little flavor to the dish. A great disappointment. My wife ordered Vegetable Pasta. It was served with mozzarella cheese, which added nothing to an already bland dish. If it wasn't for the green peppers, the dish would have had no flavor. Often you need to explore a town to find a hidden gem restaurant. In Auburn, I was happy to find one within a hotel itself. Beauvine Chophouse was a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. Our waitress (Cary I believe) was a combination of sweet. attentive and professional throughout. The interior of the restaurant is modest and classy, and there is a more casual outdoor dining area that has an outdoor fireplace burning in the evening. The French Onion Soup was an excellent starter. The Beet & Chevre Salad had an earthiness that you only get from local cheese and veggies. fantastic. The Rib eye with Beauvine steak sauce was cooked to perfection and delicious. The sauce was served on the side; it was tangy and tasty, but the steak held up just fine without it in my opinion. I'm not one to get mashed potatoes in the summer, but it just worked so well with the steak as they had that freshly made taste. I feel like the restaurant has minor kinks to work out. For example, they have live music at night in the outdoor dining area, but the volume is at times overwhelming. Other than that, I recommend you check out Beauvine Chophouse for excellent food and great service. Prices are competitive, and Prix Fixe available on some nights. I was a little 'wined out' from daytime tastings, so I didn't examine their wine list closely. read more

My husband and I wanted a nice romantic dinner. We chose Beauvine based on the location and menu. When we entered the bar area, we almost turned around. Apparently it was "Trivia Night" at the bar. There was a host with an obnoxious microphone and a bunch of young professionals guzzling their cocktails shouting out answers to a bunch of random trivia. Garth Brooks "friends in low places" was playing. The hostess/waitress saw us, knew we weren't there to test our knowledge over bud light and directed us to a table. She was very friendly gave us our choice of tables and menus. There was an okay wine list, I selected a Malbec from Argentina, my husband grey goose. There was a rather long wait for out drinks to arrive and the bar was getting rowdier, we again considered leaving. The Malbec was delicious. The waitress came and took our order. We are foodies so our order may look large to some . We choose the calamari and lamb chops as appetizers. My husband and I both tried to order filets. They were out. He switched to a NY strip served with fingerling potatoes and baby carrots in a bordelaise sauce. And I chose the duck breast with an orange and fig reduction served with hericot verts and roasted butternut squash. We also split a flight of sides including roasted brussel sprouts with roasted red peppers, rosemary and bacon Mac and cheese and housemade truffle and Parmesan fries. There was a rather long wait for our appetizers to arrive but they were worth the wait. The calamari was as tender as ever and my husband said the lamb was as good as he's ever had. The dinner arrived promptly after we finished appetizers. My duck was divine. Cooked perfectly with the most delicious sauce. My husband strip was also great. The brussel sprouts were over cooked but that was ok because everything else was so fantastic. The Mac and cheese was soooo good!! After we finished dinner (with leftovers to take home) we asked for a dessert menu. The waitress said they didn't have a menu but she could tell us what they had. We asked if they had creme brûlée as that was our favorite, they did, so that's what we got. It was delicious with a beautiful presentation. The bill came and was $120 for the two of us. Completely reasonable for our order. Overall if your into food, this is the place to go, just don't mind the Paula Abdul blaring in the background. read more

I only heard good things about this restaurant and I wasn't totally disappointed. We were looking through the internet to view the menu. Unfortunately the menu was a bit different so we had to rethink what we were going to eat. I ended up ordering the filet mignon and my husband order the pork chop instead of the popcorn crusted chicken. Each came with potatoes and vegetable. My filet was done perfectly but my asparagus was soggy and potatoes were good. The potatoes and vegetable seemed a bit over seasoned. My husbands pork chop was good and he enjoyed the potatoes. His brussels sprouts had a good taste with the honey but were over charred and had a burnt aftertaste. The service was extremely wonderful. They did a great job at taking care of us and we also received chocolate covered strawberries for free to boot. We also did a flight of wine a bit pricey but pretty good. As a Diamond Hilton member I travel and stay in a lot of Hilton Garden Inn hotels. To date, this might be one of the nicest restaurants in a Hilton Garden that I can recall. The bar here is spacious and comfortable. The bartenders are very pleasant and very conscientious of their customers. The burgers, chicken sandwich, Ruben, and onion rings were all really good. I also had the fish and chips with mixed thoughts on it. The fish was ok but a bit mushy for me. Maybe I'm not used to halibut or it was cooked too much? Second time we've been here. Both times we've had great food and great times with our family (youngest is older teenager). We love the Parmesan fries with the homemade ketchup (sweeter than most). Spicy chili special tonight has a nice kick to it. Ask to have your steak encrusted with blue cheese and get the creme brûlée for dessert. What a clean and modern breath of fresh air in Auburn. To celebrate a special occasion my spouse and I decided to give this place a try.Both the inside and outside atmosphere is clean and sleek yet approachable. We decided to sit out on the patio as the late summer evening was beautiful. The patio is serene, strung lights and the fire pit make it an intimate space. The menu has a diverse selection to please most palates. I decided to order the Cali Melt and spouse ordered the peach bourbon pork chop. Both dishes were prepared well, delicious and fairly priced. The only downside of our experience was the wait. From ordering our food to having it in front of us took well over a half hour. We also had to ask for a to-go container and the check after waiting for a while. Our waitress was nice and apologetic. She was the only server for several tables. Front of the house UNREFINED FAIL. There are 3 tables seated in the dining room. Décor strives to emulate the W brand but does not come close. It is disjointed with inconsistent lighting and purple accent lights...weird. Square room with screwed up interior design-UNREFINED. We order two chardonnays- she says would you like the house chard its not on the list-UNREFINED. Chardonnay arrives in a Cab Stem glass-UNREFINED. I order Lobster Bisque and a Wedge Salad with chicken add on. She says-"Sorry we are out of Bisque; it has been really busy toady and people really like it". I say "Do you like it.?" "No its really fishy" -UNREFINED. So I'll Take the Wedge Salad with chicken added on. How do you have one permanent soup on the menu and you are out of it at 7pm on Monday? Very disappointed in our meal last night. Strip steaks - excellent but only warm not hot, the fried potatoes were soggy and almost cold. At $38 I really expected a much better dinner. Over priced and not good. The service wasn't good. Waitress was also the bartender she was nice enough, she keep running between the bar the dining room. Several people at the bar but only 2 tables in the dining room, 3 at ours and 1 other gentlemen and other table of 2 came in just as we were leaving. Seeing the good reviews on yelp, we decided to end our trip to Skaneateles with a dinner at Beauvine (which has since undergone a name change to Refinery Modern Fare, though I don't see anything refined or modern). The menu looked appetizing and the restaurant seemed clean and promising. Soon after we placed our order, everything went downhill. The waitress took at least 30 minutes to pour water for us and an additional 10 minutes to offer some bread. It's now an hour after we've been seated and the waitress informs us that our salads will be right out and the kitchen was really busy. There were only three other tables seated in the entire restaurant so the one hour wait for salads seemed inexcusable. I ordered the Modern Caesar salad, which, when it finally arrived, looked as if it'd been dumped straight from a prepackaged salad mix. My boyfriend ordered the Beauvine Salad, which also had wilted salad mix, along with lumps of sugar that were presumably the candied walnuts. Soon thereafter, my fried duck wings and my boyfriend's mahi mahi arrived, which is the only reason why the rating is two instead of one star. Both entrees were surprisingly good, but our moods had already been soured from the long wait and the sad-looking salads. The wait staff kept apologizing, so perhaps this isn't a common occurrence. Was in town for a wedding and my husband and I were looking to treat ourselves to a nice dinner. This appeared to be one of a few places in town with more of a fine dining option. The menu options looked great, but were not as good as we were expecting considering the venue and price. The waitress was nice but seemingly inexperienced. After an almost 5 min wait after being seated, she rattled off all the dinner options before even asking us if we wanted anything to drink...even water. Once we ordered our food, we waited almost 30 mins for our appetizers. Calamari was pretty good (light and fresh, sauces were good), however lamb chops were overcooked and bland. As we waited for our main course, a group of 15 loud and rowdy people were seated directly next to us. Not exact the type of clientele I expected at a fine dining establishment. Another waitress (not our own) took notice and brought us some complimentary wine and dessert. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were greeted by a wonderful host. We waited in the bar area which is small but got a seat at the bar. We were not only ignored by one bartender but both. Yes it was busy, but two other (locals) were immediately waited on. When our table was ready the waitress asked if she could transfer our drinks to the table. We laughed as we had sat with no drinks for over ten minutes. Then to the meal. The lounge only offered $45 fix fare which was fine however we studied the website prior to visiting and if we knew of the choices we would have foregone the venue. The choices (chili, burger, pot pie) great for Sunday football. Chili tasted like taco meat; chicken pot pie was filled with mostly potatoes - 5 chunks of chicken but the cookies were good! My Cosmo was awesome and our waitress nice, but for $169 bill - we were totally disappointed, still hungry and didn't stay for NYE celebration - oh, and didn't get champagne as advertised. I have eaten here twice. The first time, I had a salad and a filet mignon. It was a very good dinner. The second time, I ordered off the bar menu and was horribly disappointed. My husband and I started off with calamari, which was rubbery and bland. It was definitely frozen, probably pre-breaded too. For my entree, I ordered the "Beauvine Burger" medium-rare. Being that this is a "high-end" steakhouse, I expected an exceptional bite. It was not exceptional. In fact, I think I have had better burgers at Applebee's. The burger felt like a mediocre pile of ground beef covered in compensatory fancy ingredients: arugula, fontina, prosciutto. Do they even season their burgers? If so, I could not tell. My side order of brussel sprouts was soggy, not-caramelized, and overcooked. Additionally, my truffle fries AND my husband's steak fries were overcooked. They were as crunchy as pretzel sticks. On the positive side, the service was great: prompt, friendly, and professional. Also, the bun on my hamburger was pretty good. However, I will not be going back there. Waste of money. read more

Small business district restaurant/bar in a hotel never really screams "local hang out," but for what it is worth, it caters well to those traveling. Hotels can generally get away with subpar eateries since it is a captive audience for the most part, but compared to the many in-hotel restaurants that I have been to, this is on the upscale side. Do not get me wrong, jeans seem to be fine, but I would skip the baseball cap and stained t-shirt. That all being said, the sirloin tips with mushroom tortellini was very tasty. Somewhat small for $17, but satisfying none the less. My foodie partner had the full blown filet at almost $30 a whack but said that it was very good. Nothing earth shattering and nothing that would make me choose it over anywhere else, but for a quick run down from a room to have something good onsite, is a win. Lastly, dessert was good - key lime pie and some chocolate cake with chocolate sauce and chocolate magic, all rounded out a good meal. Bottom line is that it is worth NOT traveling out when in the area and if you are in the area, is not a bad option when in need of a upscale feel meal. read more

Terrible service. Entered the building at the same time as another customer. 20 min after opening, 11:50. Walked around the entire restaurant, no staff. Approached the front desk of the hotel. Not acknowledged, as the woman was on the phone. After wandering a while longer I found a man sweeping the floor and asked if anyone was working the restaurant. He said I'm sure they're just in the back. I said well there are customers waiting. Finally a server comes out from the back. I glanced at the menu and left. Already aggravated with poor customer service, didn't feel like supporting the establishment or wait staff. Very disappointed. read more
