Living in very upstate New York it's like a food desert so I was so looking forward to lunch in Auburn! I was excited to order something I presumed would have flavor, namely, the gyro. Oh my goodness, where do I begin! Probably with the thing that was called a gyro wrap. It was thick, crunchy, and nearly burnt. How does that even happen? I don't know what this alleged wrap actually was. I could not even pick it up as it just broke apart in the foil packet. So in essence I ended up with an open face gyro. The lamb and beef were indistinguishable, thin and dry as if it had been shaved from the doner a week or so ago. It could have used a bucket rather than a splash of tzatziki. The side salad was the best part of the meal! I would hope that there are other choices at this establishment that are better. It looks like the sports bar would be a lively place, although I will never know. As an aside, it would be great to fix the latch on the women's restroom door! For the way they pack in cars in the parking lot, I'd expect the food to be better. I've been here at least 4-5 times in the past year and each time it's just a bit disappointing. I know they've had issues keeping personnel which may be a part of it, but the food just isn't that great and the service isn't the most reliable. The gyros are okay, the wings aren't terrible, the fish and chips are hit or miss. If you're starving and there's no wait, it's worth a try, but there's no wait I'd wait to eat here. read more

horrible customer service! order online, get my order wrong then try and argue with me because they add extra ingredients that were never selected (mayo) and then proceed to tell me that they can't refund me till the next couple days because the owner isn't there, when the lady was just talking to the owner. I will start this as I always do by saying that I don't give out five stars unless I am really blown away. This place seems like it would be a good place to catch a game. Lots of TV's in the bar area. Large open room with a U shaped bar with tables on out away from the bar. There is a nice dining room to the left when you walk in. I stopped for lunch because there were so many cars in the lot. The lunch specials looked great. The menu confused me a little. It was not as sports bar-ish as I had hoped for. I was really looking for a burger but they only had one on the menu. They offer normal bar like apps and sandwiches. Then they had some Mediterranean options. They all sounded great they were just not what I had anticipated. I went with a Chicken Caesar salad. It was very good other than the hard boiled egg halves they didn't need to be there. I saw other food coming out and the portions were very robust. I was jealous of the guy two tables over that got the fish sandwich it look awesome. Staff was great and food came out fast had my salad in less than 10 minutes. I would recommend stopping in for lunch here. I will try back for dinner some time and a game. read more

Currently in Auburn frequently for work and during lunch time decided to try the Greek chicken wrap, 2nd time tried the gyro. Both come with fries which are perfection. Out of the 2 specialty sandwiches as labeled on their menu, I have to say the geek chicken wrap is amazing and the right balance of its ingredients. Not a big fan of marinated olives or even cole slaw but the olives in the wrap are a nice touch and the small side of cole slaw is a great break in between bites. Currently they are open for pick up. Order took about 15min from placing call to ready for pick up in their parking lot. Efficient service, delicious food, kind staff. Can't wait to try more of the menu! read more

Came for breakfast and was quite impressed. Spacious and lots of seating, extremely friendly wait staff, and fast service. French Toast was delicious and bacon was crispy; everything was hot. Nicely filling meal for a very decent price, and I imagine all the portions are just as generous. Looking forward to coming back in the future. read more

I have been to Kosta's literally over 100 times. I have been for breakfast, lunch, dinner and just drinks. I can go so far as to say, I went before it was Kosta's and it was Webster's. So, like many others on Yelp, I have experienced my fair share of snarly, surly service. However, my server Ann this evening has broken the streak and was splendid! She was kind, courteous and attentive- anticipating refills, extra napkins and to-go containers without us even asking. We went for their wing night- $.60 a wing. (Up from previous $.50). We ordered a section of hot, Louisiana and honey garlic. We requested extra crispy and were not disappointed! They came with a side of blue cheese which was kindly exchanged for ranch without question. The restaurant was rather slow, maybe 5 tables, but all staff was working and attentive. Don't be dismayed by the other reviews- ask for Ann's section and your faith in their wait staff will be renewed. read more

When we first arrived you set yourself and a teen takes your drink order and seemed to be put out or confused by a drink order that contains alcohol b/c she can not server due to the law and has to get someone to take that part of our order. Because of this she seemed to just stand there an wait she I guess hoping my husband would then order something different but he had to insist and tell her to get someone who can take his beverage order. Other then that service wasn't to bad. Wings are great a crispy skin with a juicy meat in side, French onion soup was lacking seasoning and hardly any cheese but with a little add salt would probably try again. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Ordered delivery from here. It took 2 hours to get and came cold. My daughters burger was raw. Called to have them remake the order and they told me they wanted the cold food back. I had eaten 1/2 of my blt club and I'm glad I did, because they sent back a turkey club with the new order. To make matters worse they called me after and informed me I was on a block list and could never order food from there again. Fine with me! I never want to anyway. I have to be honest, this is my first review. My wife grew up in auburn and we moved here about 7 years ago. I had an experience at Kosta's that I really want to share. Last Saturday night, my son had the flu and we wanted delivery. My wife dug out our coupon folder and found a good family deal at Kosta's. She called and the owner happened to answer. She told him about the coupon and he told her "we can't do that, the coupon is expired". My wife let him know there was no expiration date on the coupon and he told her she "was lying and he always put expiration dates on his coupons!!!!" I never complain about the service industry because I worked in it during college and realize how tough it is. My wife is a kindergarten teacher and came to me almost crying, I needed to say something. I called back and the owner called me a liar. At that point, I drove to kostas to show him the coupon and clear this all up. I didn't even want the food (and never will again) and waited in the bar patiently. The owner would not come out of the back and instead sent Frankenstein with boobs out to shoo me away. She looked at the coupon and bellowed "we are not wrong, you are not getting this deal. Leave!! GRAWWAAAARRRRR!" I am not sure how I rated this treatment or why they would act like this. I even supported them a few months ago when I brought some friends in for beer and wings and COCKROACH scurried across the floor. When I asked the waitress about it, she turned flush and stated "that never happens". What, roaches or that customers see them. My conclusion is that auburn has made the owner fat and rich and he just doesn't care about his customers anymore. I like Kosta's for what it is; a locally owned restaurant with good food at a fair price. But what Kosta's suffers from IMO is an identity crisis. We went on Saturday, all the TV's were tuned into various sports and SU was playing so we snagged two seats at the bar. Then the band (outside) started to play. Then I noticed people getting dirty looks from a waitress as they sat at the bar tables just to drink and watch the game. Is Kostas a bar? A place to see live bands? A place to eat dinner? I guess it's all three.... What really irked me was witnessing an argument amongst the staff that went on and on. They knew we were listening too and they just kept at it. The bartender was pissed off at one of the waitresses and man.......I do not go out to see and hear this shit. Hey Kosta's, get you shit together!! I stopped by last night with some friends for dinner and an opportunity to watch some sports. There are television sets EVERYWHERE....yes, even in the bathrooms. On Sunday afternoon you could watch baseball, football, car races, etc...on the various TVs. Our party decided to get a Combo Pizza and an order of Sweet Chili wings to share. I have eaten here before, but have never tried either their pizza or wings. Both were very good, however, I can say that I am now a huge fan of Sweet Chili Extra Crispy bone in chicken wings. They were awesome. The place was crowded, both in the bar and restaurant. However, we were able to get a table in the bar area with no wait and the service was quick. The only concern I had was after the football game one of the patrons in the bar was almost falling down drunk. I was praying that he was not driving and somehow hoped that the bartender knew that. He was apparently not with anyone else and was going outside and back in again and texting someone (possibly for a ride???) After some of the games were over the place cleared out quite a bit. He approached someone in a drunken stupor and put his arm on a guy's shoulders and said something to him. The guy put him in his place and I thought there might be more of an altercation. We ended up leaving before he did. Up until that last 15 minutes or so that we were there, everything was cool. I plan on going back on another game day to try out some other menu items (or one of their items on the long list of daily specials) and hang out with friends.
