Stopped for dinner at the Springside Inn as part of a bus trip to the Dickens Festival with Scenic Excursions. As we pulled into the parking lot, the beautiful building welcomed us. The outside entrance and inside reception area were also very welcoming. It was a wonderful end to our festive day. We had a group of around 150. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Service was good. I, along with a few others at my table had ordered the baked haddock. It's funny, when I got my plate I thought it looked boring, no color. Lol, you do eat with your eyes first. I must say though, the haddock was cooked perfectly. The potatoes and veggies were also cooked well. Nothing was overly exciting but tasted fine. I'd say better than most banquet type meals. I was surprised that there was only 1 bartender for our large group. Though considering we were just there for dinner and not a long evening, it worked out fine. We got married here in 2015 and have the most beautiful memories from that day. A truly wonderful place and despite having plans to get married outside in the gazebo, rain quickly put a stop to that and the Springside decorated the room for our ceremony so beautifully that we had no complaints. Our friends/family are still talking about what a fun wedding we had even all these years later. Had my wedding here in 2017 and it was absolutely perfect! We were able to get ready in a room upstairs, photograph first look portraits in the tall trees in the backyard, and have a cocktail hour and reception in the ballroom. We even used the fire pit for smores! read more

If you can get a table and the table you're sat at isn't uncomfortably close to another party, consider yourself lucky! The food is decent, it's not an exhaustive list, and the service isn't terribly fast, but if you're not in a rush, and you want something slightly more upscale than the usual fare, definitely stop by! read more

Just had my bridal shower in the terrace room at springside inn and it was great! Waitstaff was extremely attentive, the food was good (we did a plated lunch) and we were well taken care of. The brownies were delicious that were provided. The room is a beautiful space with lots of natural light and perfect for parties, we had 30 guests and it was spacious. The event coordinator was great to work with as well. The only downside was there was 1 single stall bathroom downstairs that was constantly occupied by the people in the other event room so guests had to go upstairs to use the other single stall bathroom as it is an old building. Such an iconic establishment. We have been here for many celebrations. Last night my son and I had dinner, which was a great value, presented well and very flavorful. The service here was great and always has been. Also, I was pleasantly surprised with the $5 happy hour, which applied to wine by the glass and craft beer on tap, which IMHO is unheard of. We will continue to go, as the food preparation and quality is very consistent over the years and always great service. read more

Just ok. For an appetizer we had the cheese soufflé. Who knew cheese could be so bland? Plus it comes with nothing to dip in it so you're just eating a bowl of melted cheese. How odd. I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Hubby had a burger with Cajun and blue cheese. My fried chicken was way overdone and hard to chew. Honestly KFC is better. The mashed potatoes were bland and broccoli was undercooked and without seasoning. The side of coleslaw it comes with also had no flavor. Hubby ordered his burger medium and there was zero pink. Why bother asking for a temperature if it's going to be ignored? It was also hill very light on the blue cheese. However his fries were good. Service was excellent. read more

The restaurant is closed. They still have signs up around town as if they can't be bothered to take them down. The Oak and Vine is being used for catering and wedding events. We spend a horrible night in one of the 7 rooms and the stay included continental breakfast. When we came into the area, nobody was around to let us know where to sit. We looked around, and finally found the owner or manager in the kitchen. We asked where to sit and he told us not at one of the tables that had a setting, as if we were an afterthought and should not dirty a table. As we got our cold continental breakfast he said we could sit outside on the patio, which was under an awning. It was raining but we got the hint that he wanted to sit in the dining room and not be bothered by having to deal with guests. He sat and looked at his laptop news station, while we were in the humid outdoors. What was good was the homemade small pastries. That is why it is not a one star review for the breakfast. read more

Superb dining in a lovely setting. Too bad in April it was too cool to dine outside. I will greatly look forward to revisiting to dine outside come summer. The roasted beet salad was excellent. Without a doubt, the classic cheese soufflé was the finest to be had ANYWHERE! (Especially complimented with the nice house Pinot Grigio). My taste buds went orgasmic with the chipotle maple grilled pork chop! Our waitress was extremely attentive and the service was quick and complete. Can't wait to hurry back! This place is an epicurean culinary jewel in the Finger Lakes region. It gives me a great excuse to make a short detour during my frequent journeys along I-90 in central NY. read more

Went here for a bridal shower and we all had a Saturday brunch that was simply amazing. The choices were very appealing (I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Duck Confit) and beyond satisfying. From presentation and plating skills to the most important element (taste) their menu was an award winner in my book. To top it off, even the price wasn't as intimidating as you might expect! So I recommend a Saturday brunch here, but they offer so much more than that. The atmosphere is very warn and inviting, this is a great place to have a wedding or special event! read more

We had our son's wedding at the Springside Inn in August and it was fantastic. Noreen and Chris took care of everything, from the initial meeting all way through the reception. They responded to every question and request in a timely fashion, and couldn't have been more helpful. The cocktail hour up at the grove with the new outdoor bar area was the perfect way to kick things off, and the move down to the main room for the short ceremony was smoothly handled by Noreen and her terrific staff. We chose to do a family style dinner and everything was perfect. The servers were attentive and made sure that everyone had plenty to eat. The chicken cordon bleu was the fan favorite, and the steak and baked scrod were excellent as well. The cheese soufflé is a must-have! At the end of the evening we had the street taco bar and everyone raved about it. It was a wonderful way to send everyone off. We can't speak highly enough about everyone at the Springside Inn. They were professional and courteous, and if we ever have another event in Auburn, we will be sure to have it at the Springside Inn. read more

Sunday Buffet, 10:30a.m. - 2p.m., $19.95. Most of these dishes were offered in 2005, also. Plenty of large, round tables in this, their biggest dining room. On the buffet - the usual breakfast items including large Breakfast Sausage links (skin-on and decent flavor), Scrambled Eggs that looked like from powdered, and the Home Fries were paprika(?) -coated were OK. On to other types of foods you'll find Seafood Newburg made with enough artificial crab and very few tiny shrimp, with little of that delectable Newburg flavor. For this, they replaced the poor baking dish of biscuit-cake with homemade under-sized real biscuits. Chicken Ala King with toast points had ample chicken, but, lacked the flavor. Next, small coated chicken pieces (commercial?) topped with a little thick white sauce were dry and blah. Their French Bread Casserole and Cheese Soufflé were back and still enjoyable, as was an al dente veggie mix. Sliced ham was low on flavor, but, the sliced beef was OK. Beverages consisted of coffee, tea and an OJ dispenser. An omelet station was well-stocked with fillings and they were made well. Nearby is the dessert table, offering 3 flavors of good ice cream, toppings, and a few baked goods (or bads, as were the mini pumpkin pies without whipped cream). Some fresh fruits were also here. None of us wants to return after this visit. read more

Waited 2 hours for a dinner of 15. Didnt even see my dinner. Worked in a restaurant 3 times the size with half the kiten size,and could cater parties and events and no one waited 2 hours for dinner. What a pleasant surprise! Springside Inn's new Oak and Vine restaurant is great! The atmosphere is a casual pub-like feel and the food was awesome! The fish is flown in daily from the Honolulu Fish Market and was spectacular! The new chef has a great variety on his menu! I would rate them 5 stars if the wine list were more expansive. With the name Oak and Vine you would expect a broader range of wines. Also the wines were sold by the glass and I would prefer the bottle. read more

We stayed at the Springside Inn four nights during a 10-day trip to the Finger Lakes, and it was one of the most delightful experiences we've ever enjoyed. We had made several previous trips to this area and dined at the Oak & Vine Restaurant at the Inn. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to stay at the inn this time. We're so glad we did! Inkeepers Sean and Beth Lattimore -- and indeed their entire staff -- did an amazing job to make us comfortable and tend to our every need. Our room was clean, well-appointed, and comfortable; the food in the restaurant was superb! We're eating there again tonight, in fact, for our "last meal" in Auburn. Me and m'y girlfrien stayed there for a night. It was impeccable. The venue is beautiful, well maintained and full of history. The food at the restaurant was great and the waiter really friendly and a great source of informations for the activities in the region. I really enjoyed my stay at Springside Inn. It was the first B&B we went to in the Finger Lakes region. Walking in on a Wednesday night, the restaurant was hopping -- I didn't try it, but it seemed quite popular in the region. The gracious hostess brought us a pitcher of ice water and led us to our room. What a gorgeous room! A large king-sized bed, two rocking chairs, and a couch. The decor was just lovely, and the bed was heavenly to sleep on. We were surprised with a bottle of white wine from Dr. Franck's and two glasses. The TV worked well, and we had all channels. Breakfast (continental) the next morning was adequate -- nothing to write home about, but just fine to start the day. They accepted our AAA discount. I would definitely recommend this Inn to anyone for a very comfortable stay at a superb value! :) read more

Hotel is charming. Our room was big and the bed was nice. However, the hotel was loud both nights due to a wedding and reunion. No one from the hotel is on duty at night so people were literally screaming in the lobby without anyone to tell them to stop. We had to go down and ask them ourselves. The contenental breakfast was terrible. Our bathroom was too small for a normal sized person and we only received two thin towels. Overall, the charm and location could not make up for the noise. It would probably be okay on a week night or in the off season but I wouldn't stay here on a summer weekend again. read more

My brother warned us about going there, but we went anyway. What a mistake. Five of us went for dinner - we waited a long time for our drinks, and when dinner came my Roasted Cauliflower was cold, the potatoes were very hot and my Prime Rib was perfect. Everyone else's dinner was very good but there were some complaints. We had to wave down the waitress to get another round of drinks - they never came. Kitchen Plating - average. Springside Inn was a lovely location for my birthday dinner tonight! My husband enjoyed his veggie burger and I also loved my wedge salad with salmon. The food and service were excellent, our server was enthusiastic and informative. Lots of gluten free options for me, including house made dinner rolls which were a delicious rare treat when dining out. Management stopped by twice to ask how things were going and to chat briefly, very nice. We sat out on the porch, which was very pleasant, but there is also an indoor option for dining. Lovely atmosphere, great food and very good service! We will be back soon! read more
