Just had my bridal shower in the terrace room at springside inn and it was great! Waitstaff was extremely attentive, the food was good (we did a plated lunch) and we were well taken care of. The brownies were delicious that were provided. The room is a beautiful space with lots of natural light and perfect for parties, we had 30 guests and it was spacious. The event coordinator was great to work with as well. The only downside was there was 1 single stall bathroom downstairs that was constantly occupied by the people in the other event room so guests had to go upstairs to use the other single stall bathroom as it is an old building. Overall it was a great space!

Such an iconic establishment. We have been here for many celebrations. Last night my son and I had dinner, which was a great value, presented well and very flavorful. The service here was great and always has been. Also, I was pleasantly surprised with the $5 happy hour, which applied to wine by the glass and craft beer on tap, which IMHO is unheard of. We will continue to go, as the food preparation and quality is very consistent over the years and always great service.

Prices for rental are reasonable and the staff there did a great job of working with us every step of the way. And thank you again for making sure we had a working keg-orator on site! We really enjoyed the scenery there, and our guests had nothing but compliments of how beautiful the place was. The little barn for the cocktail hour was an absolute hit! Everone loved the boat-bar and the decorum of the space, really a neat little area for folks to hang out and enjoy! Without a doubt if we had to do it all over again, we would have no hesitation to book with you! For those who are looking for a place where they do EVERYTHING for you, this is not that kind of place, nor should it be. They do lots of the heavy lifting for you though, thats for sure. But you'll have to do the set up yourselves unless you want hire people to do it for you (ala wedding planner style). And you'll also have to provide your own alcohol permit for the day of your party. Not a big deal, you can get that online through NYS pretty easy, even from being out of state its not a hassle at all. The one drawback, is that there's NO Air Conditioning in the place. And when its hot out, that place can get pretty hot! For years, September months in the Fingerlakes were cooler. But these past few years its been getting hotter and hotter. Our wedding day it was in the mid 80's and muggy so it made it a bit unbearable to be in the back room area (where the band is). When the sun went down, it got a bit cooler, but it was still hot overall in the bldg. If the folks @ CM read this, that is one recommendation I would make - invest in a solid Central Air system for your hall; a system that you could possibly let people rent (in addition) for their party, or just charge a little extra for each party booked. Also, your A/C units in the rental houses on the property are sub-standard. Again, small investment which would make a huge difference for your guests. So for those of you looking for a beautiful, quaint, and overall enjoyable place to hold any kind of celebration, I would strongly recommend Chantelle Marie! Thank You Again! Geoff & Jenny

We arrived on Friday night to attend the rehearsal and dinner afterwards. The grounds are beautiful, the houses that the bride and families stayed in were immaculate, warm and inviting and gorgeous! The food was delicious and the staff was so nice. The wedding on Saturday could not have been more perfect. The outdoor set up for the wedding itself was just beautiful. Looking over the lake provided a glorious view. The bar is a perfect set up! The reception hall was large, open and airy and at no time felt crowded. Again the food was delicious! Oh, where shall I begin on this awful stay in this hotel. I checked in Monday night 12/1, I went to…read moremy room (503), and it was super super cold in there, 65 degrees. I tried using my thermostat turning up to 74 degrees, and it didn't kick on at all. After about 30 minutes of waiting for it to turn on, it didn't. I went down the front desk around 10:20 and the lady sent up Scott, to look at my heater, but before he came in my room, I told him "There is a space heater in here, but I don't feel comfortable using it." He responded "Oh, people use them all the time" and offered to bring me another one. I then talked to my boss, and she called the front desk, to talk to whoever. Then at 11:30 the guy called and offered to move me to a different room, I declined because it was already 11:30 and I had quite a bit of things with me. So, at this point, I accepted that I was sleeping with no heat. I bundled up and used the 2nd blanket. It was miserable. The next morning, I go down to check out, and I told the lady at the front desk about my stay and that she was "super sorry and appreciated me telling her." I also explained that I wanted a refund and she told me that her GM had to do that. After leaving my boss called back there and talked to the lady at the front desk, and she used that they offered to move me, but I didn't want to against me. She then, sent my boss to the GM office fully aware that the general Manager wasn't even there yet. We still haven't heard back from the GM, and we will NOT be staying at this hotel ever again.

Never Going Back February 2026…read moreI have been staying at this hotel for years, had birthday parties here, celebrated Christmas's and holidays, and a long long time ago I even used to work there, but it has been awhile since I stayed there prior to Valentine's Day 2026. I am a travel agent and I travel a lot and stay at a lot of hotels. I love to swim and there are only 2 options in Auburn, NY, unfortunately, and I don't care for Hilton's pool the next block over because it is surrounded by windows so the room is cold. However, after last weekend, I will never be staying at this hotel again or any Holiday Inn. We arrived at 4:00pm on Valentine's Day, check-in is at 3:00pm, and the front desk attendant proceeded to tell us they didn't have any rooms ready. Uh......what? It's 4:00. I could understand if we were early or even 5 - 10 minutes after 3:00pm, but we were not. So, he calls housekeeping and finds out that room #203 is ready, directly to the side of the service elevator. Ok, fine. All night long it was "Boom Boom Boom Boom" from the elevator doors slamming shut and mechanical clanking noises etc. and when we turned on the air conditioner to cool down the sweltering room, it sounded like a freight train for the duration it was on. This clunking symphony continued all night (and morning). Fine. I'm not usually bothered by much, but I was definitely annoyed. Don't even get me started about the ridiculous sliding barn door that doesn't lock or actually close in any way so anyone in the entire room can hear EVERY SINGLE NOISE coming from the bathroom. Who in their right mind EVER thought that was tasteful or anything that people WANT?????!!! Then we went to get in the pool, but there were a bunch of kids/people in there, so I decided to wait. Being a plus-sized girl I am not really a big fan of running the hallways in my bathing suit for everyone to see, so my fiance checked the pool every 1/2 hour to see if it had cleared out any. No. Ok, I guess I'll get up early in the morning and go swimming. It should be quieter then. Well, when I got up in the morning, I went to use the black make-up washcloth they give guests to use for makeup removal and when I opened it up, there were crusty bits of God knows what in it, but it looked like morning eye crusties.....not from me or the fiance.......so I couldn't use that disgusting thing. I then realized that we had only been given one set of towels, including one washcloth, for a room for 2 people. Since I couldn't use the makeup washcloth and my fiance had already used the one and only regular washcloth, he had to go hunt down the non-existent housekeeping staff to find a washcloth for me. After this, we finally head out to go down to the pool, and when we get to the main elevator (that comes out right next to the pool..........it is out of order. Are you kidding me? At this point I am starting to get really frustrated that I stayed here and I am about to check-out and go home, but I really still wanted to go swimming since I paid just under $200 to do that, so we headed down the stairs across from the elevator and tried not to freeze to death in our swimming attire while the stairway area temp was about 10 degrees because it is also connected to an outside door at the bottom and the stairways are clearly not heated. Now, on the IHG (Holiday Inn's parent company/owner) app, it states that the pool operating hours are: 9:00am - 8:00pm. Ok, it's 9:30am and we try to open the gate, and it's locked. The sign on the front of the locked gate states that the "Atrium quiet hours are 9:00pm - 9:00am." Ok, it's 9:30am, so fiance heads to the front desk to inquire about getting the gate unlocked. While he is gone, a family with little kids all ready with their bathing suits and swimmies on, comes down to go swimming too. Fiance returns from the front desk, who is refusing to open the pool, and he un-velcros the sign from the gate to take to the front desk to show them what it says. I double check the IHG app to make sure I read the pool hours correctly and the manager at the front desk, Carrie, says that she has to "Verify that" and also that she has "no idea who put that sign there" and proceeds to do nothing but refuse to open the pool. Oh, and by the way, the actual Holiday Inn website also lists the exact same pool operating hours as the IHG app, and the OWNER in their own response to other reviews visible online to the public, specifically states the POOL OPERATING HOURS ARE 9:00am - 8:00am, Carrie. Quiet hours were respected, 9:00pm - 9:00am, there was absolutely nothing else going on that day, and you had multiple people waiting to get in the pool and yet, the great and wonderful Carrie could care less about the little kids excited to go swimming, hospitality or customer service of any kind, or actually knowing what Holiday Inn's own website, app, and owner actually say, and was more interested in being rude and inhospitable. Hotels are a part of the hospitality industry

We knew it would be nothing fancy but we were not looking for that. We both ordered grilled buffalo chicken sandwich and shared fries. The grilled chicken was very good and the sauce was tasty and not too spicy. The fries were the shoestring type and plentiful. The cost for 2 was reasonably priced. We opted not to get ice cream because I wanted to go to bailiwick's on the way home. The seating outside was nice and we could see the little league baseball game going on next to us. Perfect spot for a burger type summer…read moreSaturday dinner and perhaps a little ice cream... how ever... we my friend and I are in our late 60's so have been around the block... so I'll be brief. Initially we were ignored by all employees, waited way too long to order as they seemed to all be engaged mostly talking to one another... food: once we got it, was horrible... French fries were cold and soggy. Burger was kinda messy, the lettuce was wilted from being under a heat lamp way too long. chicken sando likewise and everything seemed out of the box (Sysco reheat house) no condiments, no napkins or service ware.. when ketchup was sought a few "packet" were offered. The staff seemed to be preoccupied with each other with no one knowing what even bad service was... tried for an ice cream... ordered a cup and a small cone... dismissed to the "other window" upon paying where a unidentified cup was sitting with no apparent service ware available. I asked for a spoon and the counter creature barked there were sooon right in "front of you". There was a container above eye level with I guess had a few spoons at the bottom but since I had forgotten my x-ray goggles, I was unable to see the two spoons... then watching a young ice cream ... ahh tech, I suppose, struggle with the soft serve machine, but she did have a roughly 1 foot high cone and soft serve combo and she was trying to secure some help with this endeavor, I asked if that would be my small twist? At which time the excited gaggle of gathered counter kids all chortled "yes... that's our small!!!" OMG what a waste of marketing effort... no one over 15 needs that much ice cream... and it was a small... I refused it and asked for a reasonable sized portion to which they, the aforementioned gaggle said you want our kiddie portion... I agreed to that size but this could have been avoided if the had some sort of size posted. Over all it was a horrible customer service experience... management has zero clue what or how a fast dining experience should be. As a side note they recently upgraded the pos and need help adapting to the system. But none of our issues were related to that... it was a series of lost opportunities to show that anyone cared about what or how they should treat a guest along with old poorly packaged food that sat way to long. Incidentally there is zero reasons to have BAD French Fries with all the superior products available I will not be back!
