Steak Frites

You say Syracuse is under appreciated for French cuisine? Well Touché. Located in the original location of La Melange they kept the open kitchen, which I love. Reservations are made on Tock, a deposit is required but it isn't clear now many days before your reservation you can cancel without penalty. It also appears there is chef's counter seating for $150 a person on Tock but no mention of this is mentioned on their website. Got the pain (bread) which was delicious but quite pricey at $13. An add on of foie gras was available which I highly recommend. The Coquilles St Jacques was very pretty and tasted great but not a lot of scallop so don't know if I'd get it again. The steak frites and canard were both amazing. Nice ambience for a date. Very friendly service. Reasonably priced wine list. Would definitely go again

Touché is cozy and has beautiful esthetics. Service was also great; at one point, it got drafty where we were sitting and I told our server, and the temperature went back up shortly after. In our group of six, two got the dining week option and the rest of us ordered off the main menu. I thought the portion size on the duck was quite small, with one larger and smaller piece of duck (cost of $33). I know it's fine dining, but I have been elsewhere with a more significant portion size. Portion size aside, I think the berries were undercooked (maybe by a minute or two) so they were quite crunchy; however, the sauce was delicious and I was still hungry so they were eaten! The dessert menu was...Strange, as someone else already mentioned. Maybe the combination of flavors would work, but for the price point, I wasn't willing to give anything a try. My hot take: It was a one and done for me. If Yelp did half stars, it was more of a 3.5. The service was the standout, but if I was going out for a special occasion, I would choose a place where you might get a bit more food for the price.

French almond tart with sweet cream

Had a delicious brunch at Touché for my friend's birthday. We enjoyed Champaign cocktails with rhubarb infusion and the Chartreuse swizzle, both excellent. We shared the Dutch baby with sliced apples and chantilly cream (sweet and light), eggs Benedict with pork belly, a brunch staple and very well prepared; and an omelette with short rib and oyster mushrooms, great combo of flavors. The atmosphere was elegant and the service was very attentive. We shared an almond tart for dessert, which was crisp and loaded with almonds for a perfect finish.

Came here for dinner with wife for a nice date night meal. What a great find. The host quickly seated us. The menu/options were well set up and I did pick the wine pairing with the meals (see pics). The bread was phenomenal. The staff was friendly and attentive. Was told that the deserts were cooked by a chef from France and it was extremely delicious. Would recommend.

My friend chose this lovely French Style Bistro for her Birthday dinner and they did not disappoint! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming with an upscale vibe. We each ordered the three course dinner for $65. This is a phenomenal price and included the freshly baked French selection of breads with house made butter! Adam waited on us and kept a steady flow of dining service, great to experience restaurant with hands on owners. They have a curated wine collection, and offer pairing with your meal. I do regret not selecting that option. $35 for premium and $65 for high end pairing. I stepped out of my comfort zone with the Rockpool for 1st course. It is served chilled oyster, clam, squid in lobster consommé. It was exquisite. My friend started with the succotash and took notice of farm to table freshness and quality of ingredients. NY Strip aged steaks prepared to tender, and juicy, could be cut with a butter knife. Toasted plums with yogurt sorbet, and Apricots Hazelnut Cremeux with lavender ice cream for third courses. Both unique, and flavorful refreshing sweet. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion or order a la carte for more casual meal! Bon Appetite!

We had a great experience with the gastronomy of the food design and presentation. The food was tasty, often surprising elements (like fingerling limes) and so well prepared. Three things could have made the experience exceptional. 1. Only the steak was hot. Every other meal was lukewarm. 2. When the dish has sauce as a major component of the experience, why not share a large spoon for the eater? 3. The cooking area was fun to watch but the backsplash was extremely greasy from our perspective. We had an early meal so it wasn't from tonight's service. An expensive experience. Fun and tasty. Could be exceptional with a few tweaks.

This place is such a nice addition to downtown. The vibe is very cool without being pretentious. We walked in on a Saturday night with no reservation and sat at a high top bar table. The bartenders were so attentive and we never waited for anything. The bread app was very good but the butter was amazing. Got an order of steak frites and the hamburger. The steak frites were well seasoned and the only thing short of making them perfect was a little too much fat on the edge for me but my husband loved it. The greens it was served on were so vinegary and salty. I could have eaten a whole bowl of just the greens. The burger was the star. Seemed simple ingredients but it tasted amazing. Got a coffee to end the meal and it came in a French press with fresh cream and was sooo good. Give this place a try!

À très bien cozy, casual French bistro in the heart of downtown! My husband and I ventured here for dinner and had a lovely experience. The staff and service were wonderful- everyone was so kind. We started our food journey with the fresh bread which consisted of 3 different types along with their take on French onion soup which was so light and refreshing. For our main entrees, we had the duck that was cooked to perfection and the steak frittes, a well executed staple. The apple tart tatin for dessert was a delightful ending to our meal - not overly sweet. Excited to have this new addition to downtown!

Sides-- homemade sausage patties, potato hash, bacon and Johnny cakes

Today was my 4th time at Touché and we had another incredible experience! This time we went for their brunch. They knocked it out of the park with flavor for their brunch items and unique pastries that seem to change each weekend. We shared a bit of everything and left full and satisfied. We also got several of their sides you can add to your brunch-- great portions for the $6-$7 price point for the high quality. Definitely check it out for a unique and more upscale brunch experience, with high quality ingredients, a beautiful ambiance, and some very kind staff!

I was super excited to try this place after reading the reviews but I was met with disappoint shortly after arriving. The restaurant was very understaffed. This is understandable due to shortage of food service workers but there was no acknowledgement from the restaurant until someone from my party had to flag down a waiter after waiting 30 minutes to get our drink orders taken. The owner/chef was very apologetic and explained many people called out which again is understandable if we were told from the jump. He mentioned he would comp a round of drinks (this never happened). The food was disappointing. We started with the cheese plate and bread. This was the saddest $22 cheese plate I have ever seen. It MAY be adequate for 1 person but 3 tiny slice of cheese with 3 halves of bread was unacceptable. (you couldn't even bring 4 halves for each of us??) We were not told what each of the cheese were or anything after they were dropped at our table. They were fine.. the quarter bite we each got. The bread and butter were delicious but to split between 4 people was almost a joke. If you are going to charge this much for bread make it a decent portion. I will say that the burger and steak frites were both excellent. I ordered the vegetarian option which was essential roasted carrots with cabbage. This was nothing special and again for $26 it seemed like a rip off. The dessert options were odd. The ingredients and flavors were trying to hard to be something unique but ultimately we were not interested. Touche is not at the top of my list to try again but maybe I will reconsider that one day. I think there is potential but definitely a few areas to improve upon first. Wishing them the best and hope they work out these kinks.

They were also so kind to give me a complimentary glass of prosecco to celebrate my birthday. Wednesdays are $2 off all cider and wines so my friends enjoyed that deal as well. The Wedge changes their menu on a weekly basis so I was excited to see what was on this weeks menu so naturally we had to get multiple dishes to share in order to try as much as possible. We ordered two pasta dishes, truffle fries for the table, and brussel sprouts to share family style and we didn't leave a crumb behind! All the dishes were more unique than a typical pasta dish you may find elsewhere which was extra fun and soo delicious! The brussels were so soft and topped with so much flavor. I would love to come again to try their brunch menu and continue coming throughout the year to try many new items as their menu rotates. I really wanted to try their mac and cheese so I am determined to come back at the right time for that one!

Cocktails were imaginative with a wide variety. Personally tried to Ceasar Salad Martini for something different and the Berry the Hatchett for my favorite kinda of of cocktail. Spicy! Loved both. Ceasar Salad Martini truly tasted like a light ceasar salad. All the food was fantastic, shrimp bisque, poached pear salad, steak with fabulous mashed potatoes, and one of the best lava cakes I've ever had and a shockingly good combo of Basque cheesecake and blood orange. And not to mention their cheese platter to start the night! Staff was friendly. Inside is cute and cozy, feels like an upscale Cafe with adorable artwork. Great place for a special occasion or just a catch up date night. Cannot wait to go back.

TPOH nailed it: "Speaking of hearing, I can't take too much loud music I mean I like to play it, but I sure don't like the racket" I'm starting here, with the vibe, which sets the scene, dig? Decor-wise, it's luxe lounge, and is a welcome surprise in the Salt City. We use Resy, and...either the hostess misheard our party size, didn't really care, didn't really doublecheck to read our actual reservation, or whatever man, that's just your opinion. So, the backroom might have been a bit better suited for us olds, we were ushered into the front room. Not the window, but pretty darn close. Again, fun for people watching, inside and out. But damn it kids, if you have a DJ, I want to talk to Sir Vibes A Lot and ask them how they think thumping house music actually aids in digestion? Maybe I unconsciously started chewing to the unrelenting 4/4 beat, anything's possible. Now onto the menu, and back to the identity crisis. Like a lot of places, the York has a broad spectrum of offerings. Burger. Nashville Hot. Multiple pasta options. Sure, sure, sure. The porkchop with kimchi fried rice was the clear winner, hands down. The chicken, mashed and greens took second place (but I'll give ya a pro tip chef: the longer you cook your greens, the better they are). The salmon was a distant third because everything bagel seasoning is a lot after a while, and the veg was uninspired. Our TL:DR recommendation is come for cocktails and poutine. The poutine satisfied by itself. Our server was great- thanks, Destiny!
