Went for a Palentine's Day brunch today with a group of 9. The weather was nasty out, so they were a little behind this morning. All good, as we were supposed to have 12 people and lost 3 due to the weather and illness. I wish I had taken pictures but everything except for the crème brûlée dish was excellent. The man on the omelette and carving station did a fantastic job, and staff was around often to remove plates, bring more drinks, etc. $30 cash or $31.20 credit card. Well worth it! read more

Yes, the ratings are legit. You might question it when you pull up to it on Wednesday evening and park in the dimly lit lot. Yelp shows late hours but if you're going for food, I suggest calling ahead to make sure kitchen will be open when you arrive. Once you step inside the alternative bar lobby and seemingly simple dining room you'll still wonder if you made the right decision. You'll be greeted by the super friendly and attentive staff (ask for Frank if possible). You'll peruse the menu and find the offerings tempting and moderately priced. I suggest the spicy fried pickels to start. We had a party of 8 and EVERYONES dinner was delicious with generous portions. Light eaters might consider splitting a main. Two stars of the main courses were the chicken and alfredo pasta "one of the best I've ever had" from several in our party and the correctly prepared NY strip with your choice of sides. Tater tots, lemon butter pasta, waffle fries, heck all the sides were delicious. Turns out everything is homemade, and you can especially tell in the desserts. We sampled apple crumble ala mode and the baklava ala mode. Both were incredible and each was only $3.00! One disclaimer, the mens bathroom decor might be a bit overwhelming for one who isn't prepared. You'll see what I mean. It's harmless and fun. Eat here in full confidence. Based off of the reviews, decided to stop in for a bite before my flight. I was welcomed by the bartender as soon as I came in and seated in the dining area. He was very friendly, and attentive, took my order right away. I ordered wings and spicy fried pickles. The wings came with blue cheese dressing carrots and celery, large portion of wings. The spicy fried pickles were tasty and were served with ranch dressing. Both arrived piping hot. My only complaint is that even though I was the only person there, my food took an extremely long time to arrive. The bartender expressed concern and checked on my order multiple times. Okay, do not let the exterior of this space chase you away. This brunch was fantastic. Everything from your classic breakfast offerings of by order omelettes, scrambled eggs, bacon etc to more diverse offerings like Indian Mac and Cheese and Chicken Tikka Masala. From what we were told the offerings rotate. Everything is home made including a delicious variety of pies and cakes. Paying in cash does save you about $2 vs using cards. Tried to famous wolf's den Sunday brunch! They post what they are making weekly, so check it out before making your reservation. It's all prepared and ready to go as soon as you walk in, including your 2 brunch cocktails. It's clean, neat and organized. I loved the Crème Brûlée French toast & getting to try a few different salads, like the tabouli, and different desserts in a much more relaxed atmosphere. Another phenomenal meal here. I rated the brunch last year but this is my first time for dinner. It was a group of 6 of us. When we arrived early at 6:00 the dining room was empty but several people at the bar. I started with an old fashioned ordered at the bar. The bartender was extremely friendly and made a very good drink. Our bartender ended up being our server also (that is happening so much these days). He was very attentive but when the bar filled up later during our dinner he was stretched pretty thin. We ordered some appetizers to split: coconut shrimp, onion rings and potato skins. All were excellent. For my dinner I ordered the steak with baked potato and brussell sprouts. The steak was cooked perfectly and delicious the sides were also delicious. It was a good size steak and I took half home. The price was amazing at 19.00!!!! Two of us shared the baklava and it was very good. A couple at our table got the apple cobbler and they enjoyed it also. I have to say all the food prices were reasonable and everyone loved their food. Everyone is just wonderful to interact with. My husband and I came without a reservation, which I realized was a mistake, but they found a place for us. Make a reservation if you expect to come here For Sunday brunch. All the food is simply wonderful and made in house. Everything is spotlessly clean. It is a wonderful place to spend a Sunday mid morning or afternoon. Inflation has raised their prices to $30 per person which still includes two drinks. This local bar/restaurant is a hidden gem! From the outside it looks like a dive and actually when you walk in feels like a lounge from the 70s, but don't let that dissuade you from going. The service and the people that work there are some of the hardest working and nicest people I've ever seen in any restaurant. The two owners have a culinary background with a high-end restaurant in Cazenovia. They are also the Chefs. The regular menu is somewhat basic but with a gourmet flair and daily specials. The portions and sides are huge, but that's just the regular menu. The thing that everyone needs to know and talk about is their Sunday Brunch. It's out of this world. The selection is huge and everything is made in house whether you're a vegan, vegetarian or meat eater there's plenty of food to satisfy anybody and then you get to the dessert table, and you're overwhelmed because there's so many homemade desserts on the table. It's hard to choose. The brunch also comes With your choice of two Mimosas or two Bloody Mary's. That alone is worth the price. Be sure to make a reservation in advance because they fill up full every week. It's very difficult to get a table as a walk in, almost impossible. I can't recommend this highly enough. Make your reservation now. Also, if you don't go for the food, it's also a full on bar six days a week with a lot of great people just like a local hang out. The fresh salads (yes plural), bar had Caesar, fresh fruit all of which was sweet as if in season and we know that is not the case right now in CNY. I love tabouli but this made from scratch beats anything I've ever had, there were others tempting me but I had to get in to the main brunch items and leave room for the desserts I spotted in the other table looking like they just came out of a French pastry shoppe. Ok fluffy eggs, crispy bacon, hand made sausage patties, crème brûlée crepes ( mouth melting), cherry cheese blintzes, stuffed waffles I know not with what because I saw the rare roast being carved and off I went! So tender juicy and flavorful it was. I never made it to the waffle and omelette cook to order station but that's a good excuse to return. So desserts oh my! The lemon tart with fresh blueberries was epic. I can say it rivals my favorite key lime pie in the Keys but then the waitress told us they made that the week before so now I have to keep an eye on the menu for that is sufficient reason to do brunch again. At first glance on here and FB it appears they only offer a sought after neighborhood brunch option, but don't be fooled! There's a 3, dare I say 4-star chef/sous duo back there making magic on a plate. I'm just a work traveler so passed on a bunch of delicious regular, extensive menu options and went for one of the neon lit board 'specials' - NY Strip. I subbed one of several side/veggie options (super yummy homemade mac n chz) for the baked potato since I got the freshly scooped potato skins as an app. It also came with perfectly (yes, perfectly) cooked broccoli. The steak was cooked to order, mid-rare as requested, and contained very little gristle. Yummy! The drinks are strong and inexpensive. The crowd is chill and friendly and the music and decor give a nice vibe. Oh, and I got talked into 2 different to-go homemade delicious desserts. We found this place after searching yelp and reading several of the reviews. My wife and I were in town for a show and wanted to go out to dinner before. We both ordered the strip steaks with chicken wings for an app. The wings were amazing. They were cooked to perfection and coated with a crunchy cheese and garlic crispy coating. The blue cheese was homemade and delicious. Our steaks were cooked to order and were really, really good. The waiter/bartender was super friendly and couldn't have done better. This place is a hidden gem for brunch! Two Mimosas or Bloody Marys plus an amazing buffet and omelette bar for $20! We were there right at 12 and the place filled up quick, but they were ready for everyone! As others said, the homemade breads and desserts are fantastic... I wanted so badly to buy an entire danish to take home with me! I didn't get to try the omellete bar, as there was plenty available in the buffet line. Eggs, bacon, French toast, salads, DELICIOUS cheese and cherry blintzes, and an amazing potato hash that I couldn't get enough of! I was SO full when we left, but not in a greasy, sick way. We found The Wolf's Den on Yelp - what a find!! First of all this is a super friendly bar restaurant! The moment we walked in, clearly new to the joint, two patrons offered us their seats at the bar while they stepped out for a smoke. We decided to sit in the more spacious back dining area, where we were greeted by a super friendly server. We ordered the grilled salmon on fettuccine and the menu's fried haddock. Delish!! We washed the tasty fare down with cold brews. The total bill was about half of what we would have paid at the 2-hours-wait spots. Sweet!! The atmosphere is "dive bar meets local pub with rainbow flags". We will gladly return whenever we are back in town!! read more

The service was very friendly and there was a large variety of traditional breakfast choices, Italian choices, a fruit station, a carving station and a desert station. I imagine it might change from time to time. Everything was extremely tasty and I went back for a second plate. My favorites were the veggie lasagna, CRISPY bacon and the corned beef. Had a phenomenal Easter brunch. They do brunch every Sunday, and we have heard that it is great. We were not disappointed. We made everything from scratch, so I know what that tastes like in comparison to something that came out of a box, can or the freezer. Every single thing on their buffet was made from scratch, and was out of this world delicious. The whipped cream for the made-to-order waffles was the real thing, as was the maple syrup. I take my own syrup to the diner if I think I might get pancakes, as I can't stand the fake stuff. This was the real deal. Every single thing was cooked and seasoned to perfection, from the scrambled eggs to the wonderful desserts. i can't say enough about the superb quality of the food. For $15 a person, you not only get all you care to eat, you get TWO free mimosas or Bloody Marys. I had the mimosa, which was wonderful, and my husband had a Bloody. He says that HE makes the best Bloody, but he said this one was damn good! Service was super friendly and attentive. There are several hidden gems in Syracuse, and this is one of them. I've never written a review but tonight I went to Wolf's Den for the first time and this place is so good I have to write one. I had the fried haddock with mac and cheese and cole slaw. The fish was perfect. Crunchy coating with moist, flaky flesh. The cole slaw had crisp, fresh cabbage and a creamy sauce. The mac and cheese had a perfect creamy texture with a thin crisp top. It tasted nothing like the usual bland velveeta kind. It tasted like real cheese. Portions are generous. Service is friendly and fast. I will definitely be a regular customer from now on. read more

They threw a little bit of everything on the walls (Tom of Finland, pop-art, beer signs, 3-d hologram wolves), giving it a really fun and playful vibe. But when it comes to the food, they are not playing around, at all. Everything - from the desserts to the bread used to make the creme brulee french toast - is made from scratch, and it shows. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was crisp and not at all greasy, and that french toast is just to die for. There's tons of options, so it doesn't matter if you are craving sweet, savory, healthy, indulgent, meaty, or vegetarian - there's plenty for everyone.
