Our server seated us , gave us the menus and returned quickly with our water. She brought over the chips and salsa and while I do prefer thinner chips these were crispy and fresh and the salsa had a good flavor. I would have liked a little more heat, but that's just my preference. I had not been here before, but my two friends had and both said they really liked the food. The menu is large, with lunch items, drinks and also many other meal choices, appetizers and desserts. The lunch menu is very reasonably priced compared to several other Mexican restaurants I've been to and the portion was nice sized as well. I had a Burrito Ranchero which came with a nice sized burrito, rice, beans, a small portion of pico de gallo and topped with a light cheese sauce and ranchero sauce..both very mild. Another great Margarita and to go order at Mojitos! Fun Latino ambience with great margaritas! The Mojito Burrito is their mother of burritos! Deep fried with ground beef, chicken, rice, and beans, topped with nachos cheese and pick de gallo. Two chicken taquitos, two cheese quesadillas, and carne asada that was well seasoned, and flavorful. Efficient service at bar and to go order. We went to Mojitos on a Tuesday evening. We were seated as we arrived and immediately greeted with water and chips with salsa. The salsa had a strange consistency like spaghetti or tomato sauce but was very tasty. After a few minutes we were greeted by our waiter who took our order. They had 3-4 other tables occupied and some people at the bar. Besides salsa we began with the queso/cheese dip and guac. I love fresh veggie in the guac it was excellent. Our food came out suspiciously fast but hot! My fajitas were great but could do without the big chunks of grilled tomato. I wish you'd get more than 3 tortillas but that seems to be a universal experience at every Mexican restaurant. I ended up bringing home any extra fajita mix I had. went on a Wednesday night in the winter. Food was bland or awful. My six-year-old rejected the chicken tenders, my eight-year-old quesadillas cheese was not melted, my meal was mixed up and then they brought me cold beans. Three of us went on busy Black Friday for lunch. We had a 20 minute wait which was to be expected. Once seated our waiter came right over and drinks and chips and salsa quickly followed. The menu is extensive so I didn't see exactly what I wanted so I asked if white cheese sauce could be added to my quesadilla and he said no problem! We sat outside so we could see passerby's and I liked the decorations that were added since the last restaurant. Food came out quickly and I really liked my lunch! We also shared a margarita sampler and it was tasty and generous 4 glasses for 18.00. My sister and niece also enjoyed their lunches. The service was great considering how busy the place was. Our server spoke Spanish and it seemed to be easier to communicate in Spanish than English. We ordered two cocktails, nachos, shrimp cocktail, and a soft beef taco. Everything was decent but didn't wow me in comparison to other local Mexican restaurants. Warm and colorful atmosphere . We stopped for a snack before our movie. Love love love the fresh warm crispy chips and perfectly spiced salsa. We went with house appetizer which comes with wings,, quesadillas, and taquitos. Taquitos crispy corn tender chicken could use more flavor. The quesadillas would be better with try Mexican cheese no American. Wings were chipotle not spicy good flavor we like ours more on the crispy side but they were very meaty. Pico D'gallo was fresh maybe salt pepper a dash of lime and more cilantro would perk it up. Excellent service which brought it up to 3 stars. Americanized Mexican but ok for what it costs. read more

Mojitos Mexican Cantina opened this week at Destiny USA on the third level. They offer a good variety of Mexican dishes, appetizers, salads, desserts, and kids meals. Lunch specials offered Mon-Fri. The bar serves up margaritas, mojitos, tequila, Mexican beers, draft beer, wine, liquor and mixed drinks. The place has an open dining concept with a modern feel and colorful dexor and faux vines. The dining areas have booths and tables and there's open seating at the full service bar. There is also a mall patio table seating area. I happened to stop at Mojitos for dinner after my evening state fair plans got rained out and I settled for indoor plans at Destiny USA instead. There's always next year for the state fair and I already have 3 other fairs to go to this month. There was a wait to be seated due to staffing, even though there were plenty of open tables. I decided to head to the bar for prompt service. I was given a complementary basket of crinchy chips and mild tomato salsa. I took a moment to decide what to order and I ultimately got the Shrimp Fajitas ($23 plus tax) served with rice and beans. It took an hour for the food to come out. The bartender was busy and kept saying the food was almost ready periodically, but food was coming out slowly. The shrimp fajitas with tender shrimp, sauteed peppers & onions on a skillet was very hot, served with 3 flour tortillas. The Mexican rice & refried beans were lukewarm next to the tomatoes, lettuce, spur cream and guacamole for the fajitas. I ended up having half the food boxed to go. Overall, the food I had was decent at a fair price. The speed of service really needs a lot of work. I would like to try out other things here, but I'm in no hurry to return. read more

I have never met a restaurant that doesn't want business as much as this one. This is the second time I've tried to go to lunch here, this time with five of my friends. The restaurant was only a quarter full. They told me it would be a half hour wait and said it in a way that they did not want any more business. Rude and unhelpful. read more

Bartender Antonio was extremely friendly, personable, and also recommended the best smoothest and best kind of tequila I've ever had. The actual restaurant was very clean and all the other staff were amazing just definitely had an exceptionally well bar experience. Will definitely be returning! read more

Beautifully decorated but doesn't meet the expectations. There were items on the menu they didn't have and what we ordered was very disappointing. The fresh guacamole appetizer should be called onions appetizer since it had a few slices of avocado-not even mashed potatoes- and tons of chopped onions. Either you need a new chef or retrained the one you have. We really need this type of restaurant at Destiny's mall so PLEASE, PLEASE do better!!! read more

My family ate at this restaurant tonight. The consensus is we will not be going back. The service was horrible. They started with chips and salsa with no plates and napkins. The guacamole was largely chopped onions with little avocados. We still did not have utensils even when they brought our meals. We ordered 2 quesadillas. It stated it came with sour cream. It was less than a teaspoon. We asked for more and it was not much much more and we were charged for it. Also the quesadillas were tiny. My husband ordered fajitas. He did have a healthy portion of meat with normal looking guacamole but it was less than a teaspoon as well. He only received 3 small flour shells. We asked for more and were charged for them as well. We did not order drinks and had 3 meals and the total cost was $80. That is crazy i am fine with paying that much if the meals were worth it. read more

I just want to start off and say that the atmosphere of this restaurant is wonderful. The food as a whole is not bad either. I am not usually one to leave reviews, but this past experience was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in a LONG time... My family and I went to Mojitos because the past two times my wife and I had been there, it was a wonderful experience. Service was on point, and the food was delivered within about 10-15 minutes after we ordered it. Usually a fantastic experience! This time we decided to bring a few first timers that we had raved about Mojito's to....and let me just say, for this terrible experience to be their first...and likely their last. I am appalled at such a terrible experience. When we first arrived, we immediately had chips and salsa for us to snack on before ordering our meals, and about 5 minutes later, our waters were delivered to the table. This was when everything went downhill. Our server, James P, started by greeting us while delivering the waters, no straws, and then proceeds to tell us that he will be back in a moment to take our order. 15-20 minutes go by, and nothing. We started looking around to see where he was...and mind you, the restaurant was not full or busy by any means...as soon as he comes over, he apologizes for the wait.. He proceeds to take our drink orders, and immediately takes our food orders. We think everything is going to go well from here on out...or rather, we were hopeful to say the least. Time passes, and probably another 15 minutes or so goes by and our drinks that we ordered are finally delivered to the table. One of the drinks was wrong, and the others were incredibly watered down...leading us to believe that the drinks had been made quickly after the order was put in, but they sat for the rest of the time before they made their way to our table (my wife had a piece of lettuce in her drink too...most likely courtesy of the wait while food passed over them to be delivered to other tables). We continue to wait for our meal, and what seems like another 20-25 minutes goes by and we haven't seen eye or tail of James...I understand when waitstaff get busy...I've done it myself...but when a server comes to a table and asks if we need anything and then bolts away after the first statement without waiting to see if anything else could be done in the mean time...that's just poor service...the dude was like the Flash! One second he's there, you can barely get a word in, and then he's gone again. When our food finally arrives, items are missing...one of our dishes was missing the rice/bean platter that comes with it, and so we request it to be delivered...but that wasn't the worst of it...the worst part was that everyone save for one person received their meal. While we were waiting for another 10 minutes, James finally comes over to see how everything is, only for us to tell him that one of us is still missing our meal....he then asks what it is that my dad had ordered...an appetizer, and a taco entree...we then have to wait another 10 minutes for the missing meal to come out. The rice/bean platter was given to the missing dish without a "hot plate" warning... that was fun.. James initially came over and apologized for the delay in the meal...and perhaps the kitchen staff was to blame for this evening...but we don't get to see/talk to the kitchen staff. Given the delay that we had, he proceeded to offer the table two desserts on the house for the delay...and then he offers to get some other refills (normally charged refills) for free. By the time everything was finally at the table and finally able to be consumed, we were ready to leave. When James comes back, he asks if we are wanting desserts, and we mentioned that we didn't want any desserts, but requested a small compensation for the wait that we had with the meals, and that we would like separate checks. He proceeds to mention half off of the dishes that were late coming out, and said he would talk to management about it. Another 15 minutes go by, and he finally comes back saying that management said no...this later proves to be a lie, or so it seems...I reluctantly said "fine...but can we please get separate checks?" James proceeds to sigh and come back after another 15 minutes to give us all our separate checks... Not long after that, right as we are prepping to pay, we look over our receipts and see that the "free refills" were in fact charged to the bill. So much for a "free refill". Right then, the manager comes over and proceeds to look over our bills with us and takes them all back. He returns and has applied a 10% discount for all of our bills (what happened to "management said no" James?) To me, this is acceptable I suppose, considering the wait...and then he proceeds to bring over 5 tequila shots on the house for the inconvenience....I have to say...for a place where you should be in and out within an hour...2 hours is unacceptable. Reviews aren't only about the food. Mojitos only opened a couple months ago and already they have dismal reviews and less then 3 stars which says a lot. The Mojito's at Destiny USA is the most INCONSIDERATE place in the mall. Today, Sunday, 11/3, they are having a party and the noise level is beyond insane to the point that after an hour of being at the mall I had to leave due to a throbbing headache. People are on top of the tables and it is like a rave and out of control. They are on the 1st floor, but the music along w a guy on a microphone who is literally yelling so loud into it- the 2nd floor above them is shaking. Several people I spoke with have complained to mall security but it just keeps getting louder to the point of deafening. I have never experienced anything like this in any mall anywhere. What a selfish way for a restaurant to behave! Where is the restaurant management??? Where is the mall management??? The mall has received numerous complaints without doing anything about it- and I am tempted to file a noise complaint w the local police. If a drunk customer falls off a table, Mojitos will hopefully get sued and be out of business! Crazy way to alienate potential customers!! read more
