Adelita's Camillus location, which opened in November 2023, is the family-owned chain's first foray outside of the Rochester area; its other restaurants are at Eastview Mall in Victor and a shopping center in Pittsford. The restaurant serves an Americanized Tex-Mex menu of tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas and quesadillas. The restaurant itself maintains some of the interior features of the former Applebee's that it inhabits, as the main dining space surrounds a sunken bar area with a large rectangular bar. My wife, mother-in-law and I recently dined in while running errands in the area. We went in around 1PM on a Saturday and were sat right away. We liked the way it's been remodeled, it's very nice inside. Our server came over pretty much right away, got us our drinks and chips and salsa. Complimentary chips and salsa were both good. One thing we liked about them was that the menu has different offerings - most Mexican restaurants seems to have the exact same menu, but Adelita's had a couple offerings that I hadn't seen at other restaurants. My wife chose the Adelita's platter as her meal, my MIL went with fajitas and I went with the Pastor Burrito - stuffed with slow cooked pork and pineapple. Our food was brought quickly and was mostly okay - one thing I liked is they offer black beans as a bean option, as I'm not a fan of refried, but their rice had absolutely no flavor - just as bland as could be. The biggest issue I had while there was I went to use the bathroom while I was there. After doing my business, I went to flush with my foot - and as the toilet flushed down, water sprayed everywhere out of the pipe that goes up to the handle. I told an employee about it as I came out, who told me they knew about it and kinda just shrugged it off - but no sign or anything was up to warn anyone about the free shower. I loved the Adelita's in Rochester and this one is just as good. Great service, great drinks (Coronarita anyone?) and great food. I was tempted to get my favorite, the whole tilapia, but tried the shrimp fajitas instead. Expertly cooked, generous portions and $20. Warm chips and salsa arrive as soon as you sit down. After watching this restaurant be remodeled all summer long, I was thrilled once they opened this fall. Today, I finally had the chance to stop in and check out Adelita's Mexican Cocina. The remodel is very beautiful! I love the artwork that's painted on the walls, alongside the beautiful dark aesthetic and well lit bar, which gives this restaurant a very relaxed and chill vibe. The staff here are phenomenal! Our waiter was very attentive and kind. His suggestions on cocktails & menu items were very well appreciated. Now, on to the food. We ordered a couple of dishes. We had Adelita's sampler platter, which was pretty good. Surprisingly, the wings on the platter were very crispy & flavorful. We also ordered birria tacos and shrimp & bacon tacos. 3 tacos come per order, and they most certainly do not skimp on the filling! I felt the birria could have had a bit more flavor, but that's completely my personal opinion. However, the meat was very tender. My husband raved about the shrimp & bacon tacos. He stated they were some of the best tacos he's had to date! (I'm allergic to seafood, so I trust his opinion on this item) The rice & refried beans were also very flavorful. The cocktails AMAZING! The best thing about my first visit to Adelita's was the service. The server was very kind and attentive. Someone ahead of me was doing a take out order and the server offered them a drink and a booth while they waited for their food. The inside is decorated with Mexican decor and reminiscent of being on a ship with the barrel light fixtures and a large ship wheel. Very nice and clean inside. What made this review only ok was the food sadly. It was very bland for me. It also didn't take long to come out which to me was a sign that everything was premade in the back and just thrown together quickly. The chicken in the enchiladas was at least juicy but they lacked sauce and flavor. The rice did not taste fresh and the beans were standard. The chips and salsa they provide complimentary were at least warm but again the salsa was pretty bland. read more

Love the Mexican decor makes the ambiance warm and friendly. Greeted at the door and seated right away, waitress came promptly with warm homemade chips and salsa and suggested the queso, which was creamy cheesy with pieces of pickled jalapeño making it slightly zesty very good. The pico de gallo is fresh made with tomato, onion, and lots of cilantro which we love!! The chimichanga and the tamale were stuffed full with tender moist pulled chicken seasoned perfectly. Stopped in tonight for dinner and love everything about this new spot. Clean and unique decor, fast efficient and friendly service. We had three different meals, the 3 way enchiladas which were fresh and full of flavor. Shrimp and bacon tacos which had 3 large tacos loaded with fresh veggies, shrimp and bacon with a huge side of rice and beans. Stopped into this place at 6:15 on a Saturday. I was dining alone so I sat at the bar. The place was decently busy with a couple families waiting to be seated. It took the hostess about 5 minutes to acknowledge me when I entered the restaurant. Unfortunately the only seat was behind the tap station, not a lot of room to operate. Not their fault but wasn't a great experience. Took easily another 10 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. I ordered a classic margarita. It was fine. I tell him I'd like to order food. He gives me the menu. Ten more minutes. Fifteen more minutes. He finally asks if I'm ready. Yup. I order the combo platter with a chimichanga, enchilada, and tamale. Pork. Except for the tamale which has to be chicken. Time goes by and the fire alarm starts going off. Nobody moves. The alarm goes off for fifteen minutes. The bartender somehow is the guy in charge of getting it to turn off. Good job. The fire department did show up. It took an hour for my food and the hold up was not because of the fire alarm seeing as how plates were coming from the kitchen the entire time the alarm was going off. The food was mediocre. Very bland and the pork was kinda dry. The best part of my dinner was the Spanish rice and refried beans which were both very tasty to be honest. It took over a half hour after I finished my food to pay for my meal. Good grief. 2+ hours for a meal for 1. Not great for me chief. Mediocre food. Extremely slow service. I certainly will not be back and will not be recommending this place to friends. Go to Azteca it's much better. The fire alarm at least gave me something interesting to talk about. read more

The new decor is very nice and I especially like the different photos on the walls. The booths are comfy and the service was very attentive. I went to lunch today with my friend and we ordered from the lunch menu. We both did the combo of 3 things. I had the crunchy taco, enchilada and burrito. You had a choice of protein of either beef, pork or chicken. I chose the beef for all 3. While we were waiting chips and salsa was provided. The lunches came out quickly, the flavor was okay but didn't blow me away. I found it rather bland. It was a good portion of food. Today I tried adelitas, expecting to taste like all the other Mexican restaurants in the area, I was so wrong. This is true authentic Mexican food and took me back home. Prices were decent as well! Was so excited to try this restaurant but I wanted to give it some time to work out the kinks. Right off the bat the inside is very nice and if you hadn't been to this location as an Applebees you wouldn't know. When you are seating they bring out chips and salsa which were good but the salsa was very liquidy. Next we ordered some drinks and wanted to try the margarita flight but were talked out of it by our waiter who said they are very small. I got a mango margarita and it was good and went down quick. Then we ordered the guacamole which was good but had huge chunks of white onion and not a ton of flavor. Maybe needed salt or some other seasoning but was not amazing. Our table ordered an array of different dishes but I got the bacon shrimp taco which I did not love. The shrimp barely had any flavor and everything was overpowered by the bacon. The rice was the star though. I would just eat that with a protein on top. Next I ordered an azul Rita which was very strong and not as good as the mango but did the job. Overall I feel like this place has potential and with such a big menu I will def give them another try as I still think they are finding their footing. read more

The service by the waitstaff is excellent...why I give this place 3 stars is the bartenders, I have had multiple bad experiences with them. Tonight takes the cake and is why I am doing a review on them, as it seems pervasive at this restaurant that bartenders don't care about the customers...as a snow storm Was happening the place was not busy, 2 other people at the bar, I walk in...bartender on her phone for 5 minutes before acknowledging me...not acceptable from a customer service standpoint...very disappointed in bar staff, rest of place...top notch. read more

burrito and sides were good on one order, but only that, sub-par. On our child's order, quesadillas were good as well. Queso fundito was absolutely horrible. it was nothing more that cold mozzarella cheese with chorizo sausage and peppers. we had to put it in the air fryer to have it even palette-able. that is when we found out it was nothing more than mozzarella cheese. They just opened last Friday n everyone was waiting impatiently for it to happen. I walked in to what used to be Applebees. The restaurant did a great job renovating. New seats throughout with a large bar n tvs all around. The host explained no bar licenses yet but I was there for the food. I sat down n ordered a drink when the waiter started us w complimentary chips n salsa which is very nice in this day n age! The salsa was very good w tortilla chips was polished off right away. I still had salsa left so they kindly brought more when i asked! I ordered a appetizer of stuffed jalapeño chili peppers. These were grilled, filled w 3 cheeses n wrapped in bacon. It was served w a really good pineapple habanero sauce. I chose the Pastor Burrito a flour tortilla filled w pork, onions pineapple , cheese n cilantro. Most of the entrees are served w rice n refried beans. While the burrito was good it could have used an additional dipping sauce . To compensate I used the complimentary salsa for an extra zip. The rice n beans were okay. The rice was drier than I'm used to, and the beans were puréed but had a good flavor. I ended up taking half of my burrito home n then extra chips. The franchise also offers a vegetarian option n a decent kids menu too! I was too full for any dessert but they served the usual fare of Churros, Flan, Tres Leches, Deep Fried Ice Cream along w a Brownie Sundae which sounded good! All in all, it's nice to have an additional Mexican restaurant in the area n I'll be revisiting soon to try some additional options. I could really go for a good steak fajita! read more

Back in June 2024, my wife & I stopped in for the very first time for lunch. What an incredible lunch we had... Excellent service, lots of staff, food was plentiful and DELICIOUS. So much, we both brought home leftovers... yumm. On 8/23/24, we returned with our adult son to enjoy dinner. Place was spotless clean, we were greeted and seated immediately. The young service gal brought us chops & salsa, but then was gone. Looking around there were three folks up by the entrance handling the front of the house & seating customers, but only ONE waitress. This one waitress was covering the entire front of the house....8-9 tables/booths. She was overwhelmed. We sat for 15+ minutes without even a water while the front reception gals kept seating customers. I did notice the male " manager" wandering about doing what managers do... He kept looking at our table and then walked up to the lone waitress ( who was pulling her hair out with 8-9 full tables) and told her to handle our table. I politely said to the manager.." how about you"... He then went to front desk and got an order pad and actually came over and waited on our table. Within two minutes we had water, then drinks and within 10 minutes our orders were in front of us very hot. The food presentation was EXCELLENT, the food was EXCELLENT and the manager continued to wait our table and others like a pro... overall, we had an excellent experience and WILL GO BACK AGAIN. I mentioned the short staffing as a simple snafu of 2024...it will likely get better soon. Once again, our dinners were huge and delicious and we have enough for tonight's dinner at home.
