This was my first time here along with my sister in law's. We came to celebrate her birthday, and so happy we've picked it. The atmosphere was relaxing with each level and their own vibes. We checked out the coffee lounge first and got espresso martini and chatted. The decor was a homey feel and I can see myself coming back meeting up with friends for coffee and catching up. Then we headed to the speakeasy and had the seasonal cocktails and just ordered salads and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. The salads and fries were simple and I like my "girl dinner" lol. I was told to come back for their brunch so that's on the list. The atmosphere and vibes were cozy, a great place to unwind and catch up or like us celebrate a special occasion. Both service in the coffee lounge and speakeasy were welcoming. I see that they host tons of events so I'll definitely have to check those out. Also can't wait to check out the rooftop lounge once they warmer weather returns. I was super excited to have dinner here and it did not live up to my expectations whatsoever... we got there and the speakeasy was closed for a privated event, which is completely fine. Drinks and food was being prepared and served in the core lounge instead and it was a mess to say the least. It took 30-40 minutes for our food to come out and when the Brie board first came out of the kitchen it was sat on the counter for another 10 minutes, leaving the Brie to have a film over the top and was no longer soft. The flatbread was a disappointment, there was no sauce on the pizza and it was just way too bland for the price.... The service was extremely slow with 3 people working and all the customers in the lounge seemed to be sitting around in the same situation that I was in. Won't be coming back... read more

You cant beat the ambiance of emerald cocktail kitchen! A fun, setting of a rooftop bar. The cocktails themselves are only okay. I wasnt super impressed with my $15 drink being served in a tiny plastic cup. Flavor was decent but very watered down and mostly ice. Their food is always pretty tasty though, and something you shouldnt skip. Workers are mostly friendly and quick to greet, although sometimes it feels like youre an inconvenience when you order. I thought I'd already reviewed here, but somehow this is my first. I love this place. I've been here multiple times. Some visits have been smoother than others. There have been some bumps when they were really busy or understaffed. Regardless, I still rate it 5 stars. Firstly, the ambiance is amazing. This is the only rooftop bar in Syracuse. There are three floors -- the top is the rooftop, the middle is the restaurant, which has the most adorable cozy tea-party living room vibes, and the bottom floor is a velvety speakeasy. The drinks are tasty and aesthetic, and the mocktails are especially superb. My favorite so far has been a lavender paloma. Their food is really scrumptious, think upscale comfort food. Get the fried cauliflower -- it will blow your mind. They also do a banging brunch. Perhaps coolest of all, they host an amazing array of events with other local businesses and organizations. I've been here for rooftop yoga, silent reading mixers, foodie events -- all with different vibes but a wonderful way to enjoy the rooftop. They have other special occasions like markets, Djs, book clubs, and more. A spot worth checking out in Syracuse sometime for sure, especially in the summer! read more

*le sigh.* had high hopes for this place but it really didn't strike for me. It's in an assuming area with a cute rooftop so we were drawn. Came in on a Saturday night and was greeted by two friendly staff. They explained that they may not have seating for a party of 3 - it was a Saturday night and we assumed they'd be busy. While we waited for a table, we sat in the lounge. Really cool, aesthetically pleasing, vibe check approved but we really wanted a sit down. We were told they could accommodate us in their dining area on the second floor. We got up there and it was nearly empty! Why there was a question as to whether or not we could be seated is unknown but it was open. Our waitress, like the staff at the door was very nice too! Food was meh. We ordered the fried tomatos - I'd pass on them... thick but no flavor. We also had the smatterings for the table which I'd definitely recommend... that was good! For entree I had the catfish po boy... underwhelming and the highly recommended gnocchi ... hard pass. The gnocchi was so dry and lacked flavor. Was definitely disappointed. Vibe in the lounge was good and it was too cold to really hang at the rooftop but that could definitely be a vibe too! My biggest disappointment and change in rating/reviews is the menu. The menu has changed frequently, as well as the quantity and quality of dishes. I absolutely loved the smattering board and they could easily accommodate making it gluten free. I'll pop in for a drink now, but tend not to stay for a snack. I am so excited that this establishment has opened in Tipp Hill! The cocktail menu offers something for everyone- including mocktails. The whole place is beautifully decorated, and you can't beat a rooftop bar. They were quite busy when we went on Thursday night, which I'm sure is due to them being new, but they handled the crowd well. I drank the 1965 gin cocktail, which was good, although the second one I ordered was slightly different than the first- I'll attribute that to them being new as well. The rest of my group really enjoyed their cocktails, which were all different tequila drinks. We ordered the Brie, the Mac and cheese spring rolls, the Brussels sprouts, and the curly fries. What a beautiful place. I've been wanting to go inside since they did their remodel last year. The entrance is on Fayette Street and you can either take an elevator upstairs or the stairs to the dining room. They have beautiful lighting and a very comfortable dining room. In better weather, we would have had a drink at the rooftop bar. Food is wonderful and since wicked had just opened, there were a lot of food and drink tie-ins to the movie. I ordered one of the wicked cocktails, which was simply delicious and then started with a house salad, which was wonderful and included two different colored beats as well as goat cheese. The salad was very generous. The waitress was supposed to see whether we could get side salads, but when she brought them out, they were not sides. I also ordered shrimp and grits, which was delightful and was surrounded by a very tasty and spicy sauce sort of like a curry. My husband had the open steak sandwich, which was very good. This is the kind of place where you can sit for hours talking and there's no loud music overwhelming you. Our waitress seemed a little green, but she was pleasant and attentive, After dinner, we checked out the bar downstairs which they call a speakeasy. Eliza and Claire were so amazing. Comfortable, fun, easy paced. Just an overall great experience. I was able to get some food and order a spirit free bevy from the kind bartender downstairs, i did not catch her name. I hope emerald hosts again. The gluten free options on the menu were great for me. I have to keep to an anti inflammatory diet and live an AF lifestyle. Can't wait to go back! read more

Was denied entry based on my drivers license orientation. For context, I have a VALID PA license. Age 24. On their website, it has a whole policy about nondiscrimination "We do not discriminate based upon (but not limited to) race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, appearance, age, national origin, disability, relationship status, or sexual orientation. We are a safe space for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and bodies of all sizes." (Direct quote from website) Doesn't say anywhere about license orientation! Was really excited to meet up with some friends at this place, but was denied due to having a VALID vertical license. I am 24 years old, I offered to provide other forms of identification via photograph (due to being out of state) and was denied. Offer d nursing license, passport, even birth certificate. Spoke with a "manager" and she said "she just denies all vertical licenses to make it easier for her" (referencing to the "bouncer"). If they are so "inclusive" they should be inclusive to license orientation or at least put a disclaimer on their website! Will never recommend this place to anyone, couldn't even get a chance to try it! Will never go back, with ANY form of identification. Absolutely horrible experience. read more

Syracuse; is cooler than most places in New York can we agree? So a roof top bar even with all its charm will it overcome nature. I travel to Syracuse frequently and had to come unfortunately it was raining the out door set cushions weren't taken in. We were soaked walking to tge establishment due to the sparse neighborhood parking and I waited for 30 minutes for a couple of cocktails forgoing a meal because the place was packed and I did want to squeeze in an eat . The seats in the second floor had a street view . Upstairs was cute but soaked. Was the staff kind yes ; were the drinks good not cheap but good. I love this place. If you're looking for a unique rooftop experience in the area, I'd recommend checking out Emerald. I came here the week they opened and have been here a few times. I love how spacious Emerald is with its three level bar. The bar on the first floor is more of a typical bar. The second floor has smaller rooms with couches, where you can relax with friends. The third level is an outdoor space with multiple bars, couches and bar seating. This is a great space. It would be an incredible place for a party of gathering. I had drinks on a Friday night with a friend and we loved the vibe of the place. It wasn't too packed, despite the noise level. It felt like a classy cocktail lounge on the bottom floor. Unfortunately, the rooftop section didn't seem open and that's what we were really after when we found the place. The drinks were good, but it took a very long time to get the drinks made, and they didn't have too many options. Ordering off menu didn't seem easy with their limited alcohol supply. Same thing with their menu, it was limited and pricey, although delicious. I would recommend this place, but I do think changes should be made regarding staff, wait times, and rooftop access information, either on their website, or by the staff themselves. read more

The tap room and lounges are huge, like floors high so there's more than enough room to spread out and find a spot for you and your party. The service is alright but it really depends on how busy they are for the day. The food is great. This is a great upscale experience. The ambiance of this place is gorgeous. Almost every corner was a beautiful surprise. Except for one lamp with a plastic cup and no lampshade that gave off college vibes. The drinks were subpar. I ordered an Ouroboros which is Mezcal, coconut cream, orange juice, etc. It was heavy coconut flavor when you drank it with the smokey Mezcal aftertaste. But lacked a needed layer of flavor. The orange flavor was completely missing and would have brought a refreshing element to it. It was disappointing for $13. It also lacked garnish, which I expect for a cocktail of that price. The bar was laid out with many garnish options, so it wasn't that they didn't have any to offer. My friend ordered a gin & tonic and it didn't even have lime in it. The rooftop, which we hoped to enjoy, closed at 10. The second floor was shut down at 12 and we were asked to move to the first floor. The first floor had too loud of music like they hoped to attract dancing, but the vibes of the place and brightness would never lend to that. We all were screaming to be heard when talking. Another friend with us said she had been a week prior and the drinks were better. I'll give it another chance but the place needs to pick a lane and get things figured out. read more

Food has been decent, some interesting takes on the menu, but nothing really stands out. Service for drinks is tough to evaluate, expect to wait a bit, in an unorganized pile waiting to get to the bar. But those bartenders are hustling. If you're looking for a younger, crowded scene, this probably will hit the right notes for you. They did an amazing job remodeling it into a ECK, but it's not going to be for everyone. read more

Similar to a speakeasy type atmosphere but it gets packed and loud quickly especially on the weekends ugh. There's an upstairs that's better if you want to chat in a more quiet atmosphere. The fried pickles are the best. You can't go wrong with the cauliflower or flatbread either. I got the pumpkin beer. There's specialty cocktails right now too. We only ordered fries and had to wait 15-20 mins when we were 1 of 2 couples waiting for food. I was excited to try this new place in Syracuse. I heard it's the same owners as Brasserie in Township 5 (which I like a lot). The outside looked newly painted and very nice. When you walked in it was like you entered a speakeasy but with modern details. The main floor bar area is nice and cozy. We walked up the stairs for the main dining area. The small waterfall in the corner was so cute. Entering the dining area they had a lot of funky lights that were cool. The waitress had us sit wherever we wanted. A few tables were taken but on this Thursday afternoon we had our choice of several tables. The menu is not large but I easily found something appealing. My choice was the BLT and local Prison City beer on tap (Mass Riot) and my friend the smash burger. Both came with fries. My BLT was on a baguette roll and the bacon was very tasty my only complaint was the pickled vegetables overtook the taste of the sandwich. If I order that again I would have it without the pickled vegetables. The fries were good with a salt and pepper seasoning. The waitress was very friendly and the service was very quick. We did take the walk upstairs after we ate to see the view of downtown Syracuse. Altogether a very pleasant experience and in the evening definitely would like to have drinks on the balcony. We decided to check out brunch at emerald cocktail kitchen, a new thing! I had never been to this place but had heard such good things about the atmosphere and the cocktails! I was worried about parking, but when we arrived at 1pm, there was plenty. When you walk in, the vibe is super chill and very beautiful. The huge thing that drew us in was the Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar, with specifically a picture of a slim Jim as a topping option. We were so excited for that! First of all, the little seating area at the bar is not full service so just know that going in. We appeared to be a huge inconvenience to the bartender, which was a bit offputting. When we went up to the bar to build our drink, the mix to start with is chunky and tasty- kind of spicy on its own. There were different hot sauces, cheeses, pickles, and bacon (though really needed to be crispy, not flabby). To our disappointment, there was not a single slim Jim to be seen. The idea of stirring our drink with a slim Jim really just made us come to this place.... Disappointed. The drink itself ended up being delicious! For all 3 of us, we got 3 different types of liquors to test them. Yum! Moving onto our food, however... The menu sounds amazing! Another reason we went. However, it took a very long time for our food to come out. When it did finally arrive, the potatoes were cold on all of our plates, the poached eggs on the Benedict were literally hard boiled, the ham on 2 of the sandwiches had gone rancid and had an off-smell and they didn't finish their meals. My burger was fine and the egg perfectly custardy, but the sausage was strange on it and the burger wasn't smashed, it was a frozen patty that appeared to be cooked in a microwave. The potatoes were doused in what looked to have been Italian seasoning but had zero salt and pepper. When our food arrived, we were asked if we needed anything else... I asked for salt and pepper. Waited... Waited .. food got even more cold... we thought maybe they didn't have salt and pepper shakers. Then, the waiter started bussing other tables. Clearly he wasn't coming, so my friend got up and asked the bar. Unfortunately no amount of salt can help cold, dead potatoes. Are first time there on the top floor on a Sunday afternoon. Food options were different but we chose the burger. We ordered the burger that came with an egg on it. We had asked for no egg on the burgers but it that's how it came out regardless . It wasn't that bad. Service was slow w one girl on bar. I orderd the Aperol spritzer which was good.
