We ended up with a pint of Southern Tier Blueberry tart I believe, topped off with lemonade making them Shandy's. This was at the bartenders recommendation. This is the first time we have ordered liters, they are so heavy you need two hands to drink. They were cold and refreshing for the first half but the heat quickly warmed and flattened the carbonation. I would recommend smaller pours if you want your beer cold. The special was a free hot dog with a liter purchase but upon inquiry they were out of hot dogs. It is a peanut bar but they do not have any other food options. $14 each for the Shandy's. Pleasant staff with a German football vibe.

The bar was out of the beer we wanted, the dart boards were so used that not one of our bullseyes would stick, and they no longer sold hot dogs or pretzels. Even the free peanuts were out of stock. That meant no food. Period. We had read on their website that Wolff's had a deal with Pavone's Pizza to deliver to the bar. When we asked the bartender about it, he didn't know a thing. So, we ended up walking to the Dinosaur BBQ for some food. We were also disappointed that there was no holiday music playing, in spite of the fact that many of the customers were wearing santa and elf hats, and Christmas sweaters. Apparently the bar changed ownership over the summer. Gone is the wall of dollar bills. Gone are the football team scarves hanging from the ceiling. Gone is a lot of the charm of what we used to enjoy about the biergarden. All in all, we were sorely disappointed. It will be a while until we return.

I was really skeptical coming here late on a Saturday evening. Although I am well over age, they…read morehad an intimidating bouncer next by the door which was off-putting. The place itself if a dingy regular bar, with many small TVs around with sports on (and a surprisingly high amount of infomercials). We tried the Yelp check in perk (was pretty difficult to do, no one knew what it was). It's a seat yourself, serve yourself sort of environment (go up to the bar to order everything). That being said, I'm giving this place a 4/5 stars for the chicken tenders alone. I was very very pleasantly surprised (I expected all bar food to be bar food). The chicken tenders were very crispy and tasty. My one qualm is that the size of the different tenders is extremely varied/not uniform. This means between the different orders in the group, some portions looked much larger than others. In addition, as a note, the eight piece tenders does not come with fries, only the four piece. All in all, I was really pleasantly surprised by the food and will likely come back for the chicken tenders again in the future.

There are 4 or 5 bar/restaurants just across the street from the Courtyard Marriott Armory Square, where I stayed. First couple were really packed, due to the World Series, and so I walked a little farther down the street. Found Clinton Street Pub, which seemed like the local hangout from the looks inside. Not too many people, which meant plenty of room at the bar, which works for me. The waitress, forget her name, was very nice. Served quickly. At first didn't think it was anything special, until more people arrived and ordered their food. I took a look at the menu, and I could see why locals would return. Ordered Sal's Special Burger with deep fried cheese curds, Sal's sassy sauce, and coleslaw on a kaiser roll. How could I go wrong with that? Well, I didn't. In fact it was fantastic. The potato wedges were fried just right, not overdone, or underdone as many establishments struggle with, and the burger was much bigger, juicier and tastier, than expected. This place reminded me of Lark Street Tavern. The food is typical bar food, but the food is not typical, instead, much better than typical. See photo.

Great space enormous indoor bar, outside patio bar, and pavilion for music and events. I met friends to see Arcade, only $5 admission plenty of space, we only wish the pavilion had fans during these hot temperatures. Wait lines for drinks were short and moved quickly. I believe the drafts I ordered were $6 each. Next event I'll have to see what other options are available. Draft beer doesn't keep well in extreme heat. Towards the end of event I went to inside bar ordered a Margarita and ordered the short rib tacos with fries on the special to go. Fries hot and nicely seasoned. I did peek at tacos which had a nice presentation even for a to go order. Upon my attempt at consuming them after returning home, I realized the meat was rare at best, undercooked for this cut of meat. The texture was of raw fatty meat that was unfit to be eaten. Sad they looked so promising other than the to rare meat. They were on the special menu I would have thought meat was prepared ahead of time, marinated and slow cook ed. The meal was $15.95 so I figured it wasn't a huge loss. Hopefully they take those of the menu or prepare differently for future orders. Fun evening, easy getting an uber out of property. Better luck next time with menu items!

I was unable to have a conversation with my boyfriend. An incredibly intoxicated man came up to me SCREAMING in my ear, while I was turned away with my finger in my ear to attempt to send a signal of disinterest and discomfort, his even more intoxicated friend then joined and encroached on my seat. When I jumped up, my skirt was stuck under him, because he was so close to me to a point that he was partially sitting on my stool. The bartender witnessed this interaction and continued pouring them drinks. While waiting for our take out order, I was so happy to have a drink in my hand. I have never "downed" a double gin and tonic faster in my life. There was no quiet corner to escape to, and my boyfriend was seething in anger and disgust the entire 20-25 minutes we waited there, as well as the 20 minute drive home. I was sorry that he didn't have a drink to take the edge off during our experience there, but he was not willing to give them a single dollar. We were greeted warmly by the bartender who was taken care of a few patrons at the bar. We grabbed menus and sat down at a separate area where the dart boards are. Sign said to go up to the bar to order. The bartender "Megan" was very friendly and made us feel at home. I ordered the smothered steak sandwich with curly fries. They had an up charge for fries over potato chips but I was in the mood for fries and it was reasonable $1.99. The sandwich was huge and I especially liked that the bun was toasted and crisp. The meat was not over cooked and the cheese was melted with the peppers and onions underneath. The fries looked pale but they were cooked and lightly salted. The cook brought the food out to us which was a nice touch. They checked on our table several times to make sure we were ok. My lunch mates had hamburgers which they really liked. Altogether a pleasant experience. This is not a fancy place but they have good reasonable food (my lunch was 15.15 total with tax and up charge for using a credit card).
