We were there for a little longer than most people because one of our friends was from out of town. She checked on us periodically yet let us have our space and watched for our drinks or whether our menus were put aside so she knew we were going to order. We Were quickly greeted and seated at 6:15 On a Monday night. The waiter was very professional and respectful the whole time. Even though we didn't order any brew, we quickly received delicious water. We Both ordered their burger--ordered them medium and they were great. The French fries that came with the burgers were delicious. We even had dessert, a vegan & gluten free banana bread cake: satisfying, not too rich and not too sweet. Just right. I had the Dancing Lights, which is by far the best Christmas Sour I have tried this season, and even better it is locally brewed! Pomegranate, cherry, white truffle, cheesecake delight! My husband and I love trying local breweries, so of course we had to give this place a try. Their beer is delicious! The key lime matcha sour was delicious. I'm not a huge beer fan either, but I would drink this one all the time! It really tasted like key lime pie! My husband had an IPA and really liked it also. Our server also brought us a little sample of a peanut butter stout, which was also delicious. The food was fine. I got a veggie burger, which wasn't very warm when it came out. My husband got a burger and also thought it was fine. Our waiter was nice and attentive. We were here around 1:30 on a Monday and it wasn't too loud. I would definitely come back here for a drink. The service is stellar. It is clean but nothing to write home about for ambiance. The food for me is hit and miss. I had the orc legs or pork short ribgs and they were quite delicious. Then I went back to try the troll fingers or chicken tenders and they were way overcooked and burnt. It is too bad because had they been cooked less they probably would have been very tasty. I ended up throwing the rest away when I got home because they were just inedible. While visiting friends in Oswego, they were adamant about coming to Bullfinch to have lunch and awesomely flavorful beer. This was a solid recommendation! Four of us arrived at noon on a Sunday, right as Bullfinch opened for the day, and were able to pick out where we wanted to sit. We chose a nice, spacious booth behind the bar. Our waitress, Raffaella, came right over with an extra beer menu and gave us some time to look it over as she grabbed waters for us all. In the meantime, one of the founders/owners of Bullfinch Brewing came over and chatted with us, telling us about Bullfinch, some stories behind the beer, including how "Underwater Donut Screams" came to be and what makes "A Date in Jötenheim" so unique - a style I had never had before I came here. All of us were so bummed they did not have it in cans when we left! Having one of the owners come over and talk to us, he even checked in on us throughout our meal, is absolutely huge in elevating the dining experience for me, it makes me feel special and shows how appreciative he was for us coming! It was just him though, our waitress Raffaella, was awesome, so much fun to talk to, gave excellent recommendations, and did a fantastic job checking in on us and making sure we were taken care of. Since it was my first time at Bullfinch, I asked her for a few recommendations and they were spot-on, demonstrating how well she knew the menu and enjoyed it herself. I ended up getting a flight of four, plus one, as I could not settle on just four! Every beer sounded so good to me, a couple I had and loved were "Peanut Butter Mind Flayer", "Underwater Donut Screams", and the new one, "A Date in Jötenheim". For lunch, I went with The Irishman burger - special blend burger topped with their beer bacon jam and Irish aged sharp cheddar cheese, though instead of their normal bun, I took Raffaella's recommendation and swapped to a pretzel bun for a small up-charge - and a side of sweet potato fries for a small up-charge. The burger was great, with a nice amount of cheese and plenty of beer bacon jam. That pretzel bun paired so well with this burger too, definitely the right call! The sweet potato fries had a brown sugar dusting over them, the right amount to know it was there but not over power the fries. The burger, sweet potato fries, and flight of five were plenty filling - I was full the rest of the day! The prices were pretty fair, maybe a little higher than some other sit-down restaurants, but still fair. In summary, I absolutely loved my experience with Bullfinch Brewing! The beer here is delicious and so flavorful, I actually wound up grabbing a four-pack of a few different beers before I left! In addition to the beer, the customer service experience here was phenomenal! The co-founder/owner taking time to talk to us and our awesome waitress, Raffaella, really made this a great experience for me! Our first time at Bull Finch was two days ago. We both liked our beers. The steak and blue flat bread was excellent. The Caesar salad with salmon was underwhelming. Given the cost of adding salmon to a salad, we thought the salmon would be a piece of salmon. Instead the salmon seemed like something from a can that was sprinkled on top of the salad. Very disappointing. We enjoyed our server, Jake, who was attentive and informative, and made us feel welcome. Will we go back? If friends wanted to meet up there, we'd go. The wait staff was absolutely outstanding, and so patient and kind with our large group including kids! In addition to the awesome food and service, they went above and beyond when my daughter left her wristlet - full of cash and gift cards - on our table. We didn't realize it was gone until we were back in Rochester. The staff kept in touch with me and mailed it to our house! And, nothing was missing when we got it. I am amazed and impressed! Super open and fun ambiance (always cool to see the beer making machinery) ordered two flights, with many sours options which is my favorite - and shared some wings & wontons (lots of sauce!) mozz wedges and a burger. My friend and I went to Bullfinch Brewery last night. It was a Friday night about 6pm. We were seated right away. A few minutes went by before our server, Christopher, greeted us apologizing he didn't know we were there. He was amazing the whole time keeping things fun and joking around while also getting us drinks and food very quickly. We both ordered a beer and we split some apps. Duck Bacon Wontons. The flavors were great. The mascarpone made it reminiscent of a crag ragoon except with a delicious bacon flavor. The sauce made was delicious and finished with just enough heat on the end. If I could change one thing it would be to get the sauce on the side so the wontons stay crispy. Fried Pickle Spears. These were the best fried pickles I've ever had. Crunchy and seasoned really well. It came with two dipping sauces but I only used the ranch. I believe the other was some sort of mustard. Mozzarella Wedges. These were fine. Pretty typical in your fried mozzarella category. Came with a marinara sauce. Prices were a little high for what the food was but it was good and we left satisfied. I think I just ordered the wrong thing. Service was super quick and staff was friendly. Sides were great. But I asked what's popular here, she said the Irishman, and I was let down, to say the very least. The actual burger had a good enough taste, but the buns were soaked in grease, making them soggy and flimsy. Very bland as a whole as well, as well as a bad cheese texture. The chicken fingers, or troll fingers as they call them, were so dark. I posted a photo but my camera made them look much lighter than they were. They tasted burnt. I really wanted to love this place. The ambience is beyond awesome and the decor is even better. Alas, my experience was just not great at all. There are a few major issues here for me. First was my burger. It was so under seasoned and (correct me if I'm wrong) I'm almost positive was frozen. You can see the inside of the meat in my photo and combine that appearance and the bounce to the chew, tells me frozen all the way. That would also explain the absolute lack of salt in pepper as if they through a frozen patty on the cook top it would lose it all. Second was the salad. My gf absolutely didn't like it at all. Not that it was a bad salad (though definitely too expensive). She just was trying out a grilled salad for the first time. She took two bites of it and that was it. The server asked at the end and we told her she really didn't like it at all. The girl said "well grilled salads are a little different and not for everyone". Didn't remove it from bill, didn't offer a substitution or anything. I had to take my gf to fast food on the way home. They also really need a dessert menu, but that's just a tip. I attended a special event a few days ago at Bullfinch Brewpub in Destiny Mall, in the old Gordon Biersch location. This is now locally owned by a top notch Brewmaster, who used to work for Gordon Biersch. This is a special menu for our event with beer pairings. Their regular menu is a nice selection of appetizers, sandwiches and salad and they have excellent wings. The owner spoke before each course to explain about the beer and then the chef spoke about each of the food pairings. The food was 1st class and the beer was very, very good. You could choose no alcohol, as I did, but I tried a few tastes and found several I would come back for, high praise from a non beer drinker. Most of the guests, more knowledgeable about beer than me, were extremely happy with the selections and quality. Each course was outstanding, from the seared scallops over arugula, to the carpaccio, melon soup, duck breast and creme brulee. Several items included beer reduction as an ingredient other courses were just created to complement the beer. Came here on a Monday evening near closing time. Very friendly service. A very small detail, but one that really stood out to me, was the music playlist. I love dessert sours and they are known for theirs. The blueberry was my favorite and the Key lime was great too. I also got the Pumpkin Mind Flayer on special and enjoyed that too. Feels too much like a rehash of Gordon. Some of the flavor they have added to the place looks great, but most of it like the bar and tables brings it down. The beer lineup was pedestrian, a typical modern selection with names that had cuteness but no relation to what is ordered. While they display skill, in the end the feel like beers you can get at any brewery in the area. Completely worth skipping and heading to Middle Ages or Red Hawk; or to Now & Later or All Who Wander if one wants to really have a great beer or explore something new. (Added since owner replied) Usually it's best when owner doesn't reply. I feel like you are making the point I stated well here, one of those awards is just for a name and not for anything else right? You're a great brewer, but those of us who want beers that aren't made for bros feel left out by your offerings. Maybe they don't sell enough for you to have a business. Can't fault anyone/you for business decisions. American consumerism devolves in to superficiality when things become popular. TL;DR: Highly recommended. Excellent beer. Would repeat ***Ambiance*** This is a brewpub, and the ambiance was modern and cozy. Lots of seating space and the dining area was clean. There was a performer playing live music which added to the overall ambiance of that place. Right after entering, I found the place to be incredibly welcoming. This was my first time visiting, and I was really hoping that the beers here were good because I really wanted to stay and enjoy the atmosphere. Thankfully, I was not disappointed. ***Staff*** Our check-in staff and server (Sparrow) was very friendly and courteous. From taking our orders to serving our food, everything was appropriately timed. ***Beer*** Beer was the real reason why I was there. I have a soft spot for local breweries, and I was really looking forward to trying out their product. They offer flights (see photo), and I went with a flight of four beers. I selected the following four NEIPAs: Simulacrum, Wild Shape, Space Hamster, Beer to the Future II (see pic). There were two things unique about the beers that made my visit memorable. First, they all tasted very different. Although they were of the same general style of New England/Hazy IPA, each of them had a very distinct flavor profile such that I could differentiate between them up in a blind line-up. Second, the description of the flavor profile of the beers in the menu was right on target. Simulacrum *was* citricy and wild shape *was* piney. In more cases than not, people write all kinds of fluff in the beer description so that it is a catchall. But in this place, it was worded very appropriately, which truly highlighted the dominant flavor profile of the beers. It gave me the impression that I am sampling beer from an extremely talented brewmaster, and it is the brewmaster and not some PR agent who wrote up the beer descriptions. All the four beers were great, but I really found the simulacrum to the most nuanced. It was not overly juicy (like sloop's juice bomb), yet it had the characteristic NEIPA profile. The balance between lightness and citric hoppiness was unique. I would take a long guess and say that it was dry-hopped with some very potent citra hops, and the right balance was achieved after many, many tries with the timing. I did put my money where my mouth was and got a 4-pack of the Sim to go (photo attached) On a side note: Someone in our group ordered gin and tonic, and the G&T came out very well. It was of the right strength. Kudos to the bartender for making it properly and not skimping on the liquor. ***Food*** We ordered some snacks to go with the beer: Nachos and chili (see pics). Both of them were served hot. Nachos came with guac and queso, and we finished everything. I would describe them as adequate. Not the best and not the worst, but they went very well with the beer. The only reason I have any recollection of the food is because I didn't drink enough beer...haha. ***Overall*** Highly recommended if you like beer. It was a wonderful experience for me, and I am definitely going there again. All I need to do now is to find a new friend who doesn't drink and convince them to be my designated driver for my next trip. read more

We stopped in for dinner and drinks on a Sunday evening. Having never been here, but hearing good things, we decided to check it out. We asked if they had a cocktail menu, but they didn't. We asked if they could make an Irish coffee. They'd never heard of it, and didn't have any Irish whiskey. They only carried local spirits, and at the same time our server said that they had a full bar and could make us whatever we wanted. Right... The music choice was odd as well, as they were mainly playing old school hip-hop ala Beastie Boys the whole time we were there. Not really what I expected for a brewpub atmosphere. Regardless, the food was very good. We had the $17 Reuben (house made) and the $15 chicken quesadilla. We had hoped for less of a typical bar menu, and lower prices, but seeing as it was in Destiny Mall, not all that surprising. I also had the orange-ginger hefeweizen, which was excellent. But all in all, $50 for two sandwiches, one beer and an iced tea means that we won't be back. read more

We loved everything we had here, the menu appears simple enough to nail everything on the menu, with enough variety to please almost everyone. Our server was wonderful and appropriately attentive. Food and drink were fairly priced and not a complaint to be had in the aforementioned. Things we noticed, we went early on a Wednesday before 5pm and the restaurant was mostly empty. For how busy it wasn't, it took an extra minute or two for someone to seat us, no big deal as we imagine at the time we are eating limited staff on hand/getting ready for a much busier dinner rush. While we were eating there was a gentleman who was at the hosts table looking at a menu. Don't know if he wanted to eat but he left before possibly anyone even noticed to greet him. A few minutes later a couple arrived and they waited a good 5 to 10 minutes without anyone seeming to see or acknowledge them. They did wait and were seated. I mention those simply because those details do matter for overall experience. And for how enjoyable our meal was and the staff were, I want to see Bullfinch succeed. Came on a Tuesday for lunch. The same nicely setup restaurant and bar is still inviting. The tempting menu has a few unusual items, plus, a short list of their own house-brewed beers. After a couple samples, I settled on the Insight Czech - a 6% pilsner - amber with enough body & flavor. For food, I had a sandwich - Fan Favorite - with its shaved marinated sirloin, red bell peppers, beer-braised onions & mushrooms(few), topped with pub cheese (not much flavor as a topping could be), on a buttered toasted hoagie - 8"? Skimpy filling (stops 1" from each end of the roll), but the meat was fat & gristle-free. It comes with house-cooked seasoned chips, hand-cut fries or sweet potato fries - which I ordered. Larger than usual, cooked soft, but with a nice thin crisp outer shell. read more
