The interior of Persimmons is really nice, overall a good and comfortable vibe. The drinks were tasty, I enjoyed my "Spring Fever" cocktail and the flavors that went with that. Otherwise it was only okay. The bussers/servers left our plates piling up, and there were a lot of mixups with with food and drinks in my party. I ordered the lobster bisque and wpuld say to skip it, very little actual lobster in it, it was more just a creamy fishy tasting soup. The rack of lamb was flavorful with good sauce options, but very tough, dry in parts and hard to cut. Finally, dessert came in strong, we ordered a carrot cake slice to go and it was huge. I really enjoyed brunch at Persimmons! When we arrived, we parked in the lower parking lot (closest to the restaurant entrance) and were seated right away. I liked the way the restaurant was decorated and especially how persimmons are used throughout the decor. We ordered an appetizer, mains, and dessert and the timing of everything was very nice. The refilled our water regularly as well. The wedge salad was delicious, but the crème brûlée trio was the star of the show for me. I've been here twice for lunch. The first time was a lovely day and I sat outside with my friends. It's so pretty outside and we enjoyed the view. Our server was very attentive. 2 of us ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles were burnt and inedible and I said something to the waitress and she took the plates back and had it remade. They came back quickly and much better. The managers came over and apologized and offered us free deserts or to take something off the bill (we took desert). I love cream brûlée so ordered the trio. The flavors were lemon, vanilla and orange. That was one of the best desert I've ever had!! The second time I went with my sister and it was a rainy day so had to sit inside. The inside is also very pretty with high back booths for privacy. I ordered the Asian salad with grilled chicken. I have to say that the salad was just ok with not a lot of flavor on the chicken and the dressing was runny with little flavor. My sister had the Rueben sandwich which she said was ok but small and she has had better. We both ordered the cream brûlée for desert because I couldn't wait to have it again. It didn't disappoint. I would go again and try something else and sit on the patio on a nice day. read more

To get to Persimmon's you drive through rows of freakishly uniform condos. Unless you're one of the golf bros hanging around outside complaining that the place is too busy tonight so you can't get your smash burger, in which case you're already there. But let's get to the food, which is, in a word, bad. $32 sounds reasonable for steak frites until you are served an overcooked, deck of cards sized 'sirloin' with fries that come to the table cold. The pasta of the day, in the same price range, comes slathered in bland cream with chunks of mystery meat. Caesar salad was passable, as were cocktails. Main server was pleasant, if a little too eager to upsell you, but there were also awkward little visits by the manager and confused busboys bringing the wrong thing. Perhaps the captive golf-world denizens of this complex will be satisfied, but those of you who have visited the outside world will probably not be. read more

I wanna love this place but every time I go there either the service is bad or the food is bad. It's never good in both cases. What a shame, because I love the atmosphere. Recently went there for jazz night and the crabcakes were oily and gross and the service was poor slow, although very friendly staff. Let's get this fixed. My friends and I decided to come to Persimmon's for a ladies night dinner. We opted to sit outside since it was pretty busy inside. We were the only ones outside due to it being chilly but we dressed warm. A bit disappointing that they don't have heaters or fire pits with lounge chairs/seating on such a beautiful patio overlooking the golf course. The service was not great and it took a very long time to even get drinks. The food was disappointing as well. We got the burrata appetizer that was supposed to have cranberry compote, pistachios and served with crackers. For $16 I was certainly not expecting to be served burrata with cold jam on top and those cheap butterfly butter crackers you get from the grocery store. Think I'll just stick with getting cocktails at the bar here from now on. read more

Persimmons is located in a beautiful area and is very nicely designed inside. However the service, food and experience was very lackluster. The glassware was filthy, on our table and set throughout the restaurant. The polishing cloth left lint in the inside and there were fingerprints all over the glasses. Servers don't use trays and our server carried over my coffee, cream and sugar caddy in her hands with coffee sloshing down the sides. It was absolutely dead and no reason for sloppy, frantic service. I wouldn't even expect this at a diner so pretty shocking to experience at a "nicer" brunch. The food was okay, typical breakfast food. We had the steak and eggs and breakfast burrito. The bar drinks were good, and we shared the creme brûlée that was great. We ended up leaving a ~$19 and unfortunately noticed a few days later and our server put a $25 tip into the card. It's not a huge difference but the principle matters. When we tried to call the restaurant we could not get ahold of someone and it went to voicemail. Hope to hear back to get this resolved. All in all, I would not recommend this place. They clearly don't have a lot of direct competition in the area and will probably get by just fine but they are certainly not worth going out of your way for a visit. read more

The food was fantastic and there wasn't a huge wait. I wish I left room for dessert because they had some great options. The restaurant is beautifully designed and I can't wait to go back when the weather is nice and the outside seating is open. A big thank you to our server Paige! She took care of 4 "crazy ladies" and was so professional and friendly. I was quite early, but I appreciate that I was seated so I could get comfortable, look over the menu and order a drink. I started with the Orchard Spritz mocktail - pear, apple, lime and club soda which was very refreshing. Warm sliced bread was served with a very flavorful dipping oil. The table's food consisted of The Mussels appetizer, Asian Salad, Short Ribs, Crispy Chicken Milanese, Creamy Shrimp, sausage and Gouda Grits. We shared sides of Mashed potatoes, Macaroni and cheese and Brussel Sprouts with pancetta. The portion sizes were very nice and the food was hot and fresh. The mussels were served in garlic, shallots, white wine and butter. I could have made them my entire meal and we all kept dunking the bread in the amazing butter sauce. My shrimp and grits were creamy, smoky, spicy and each component was cooked perfectly. The short rib was so tender and the potatoes and spinach in the maple and mustard sauce were delicious. The Chicken Milanese was moist and very crispy, there wasn't a lot of seasoning but it was topped with a large salad of arugula, fennel, onions, tomatoes and lemon vinaigrette. When eaten all together, the flavor profile was fresh and complete. We had the Apple Bread Pudding, Flourless Chocolate Tortellini and Creme Brulee trio. They were all very good but I have to say the apple bread pudding was my favorite.... crispy top, not too sweet, served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We can't wait to go back. read more

A beautiful building in a quiet remote location just a few minutes from Baldwinsville. My first visit here was for a Mardi Gras show by the Soda Ash Six. They had a special menu of cocktails, apps and mains for the show. I ordered a spicy rum cocktail to start, along with the Oyster Po Boy sandwich with fries. I asked for garlic aioli instead of ketchup for no upcharge. Everything was perfectly done. I finished with a blackberry gin based cocktail for dessert. I would easily come here again. read more

Persimmons, BVille. Found this GEM on Yelp by accident and so happy I did. Taylor great service. Denise hostess also excellent. Both friendly and informative. Food, Buffalo Cheddar Cheeseburger, Black garlic aioli, crispy jalapenos, bacon, lettuce,tomato and fries or sweet potato fries. Cooked medium rare and was very juicy and delicious. One of the best burgers. Braised Beef & Cheese Panin, Havarti & cheddar cheese, wasabi ranch dressing, pickled red onions, hot banana peppers, ciabatta bread. Served with french fries or sweet potato fries. Carrot Cake, normally based on diet, do not get dessert but Taylor, said it is worth it. She was spot on. That good and better. Beautiful place! Follow the entrance road all the way to the end parking lot by the boat docks building is on the left. Gap in signage and using IMAPs was a bit confusing as to which building it was. Located in the 9th hole of the golf course we opted for outdoor seating on a breezy comfy late summer Saturday late afternoon. Lunch menu missing a few things we would have liked to try so we went with fried mozzarella bites to start which come served with Carolina BBQ drizzle...tasty and quite a few of them. I ordered the fish tacos going with one of that days options the blackened salmon. The green goddess potato salad peaked my interest and I added that. Tacos were perfect and salad very flavorful. Dining partner chose the smash burger with fries. He knows his burgers and I had to agree by the texture of it they were frozen patties. Sadly a smash burger should be juicy inside with crispy edges smashed together not dry equal in size and shape thin patties. Fries were good but Sysco makes good ones. He had a soda I had a glass of wine ($10 good size Pour) total meal came to $68 plus tip. Our server was the best, very cheerful always smiling checking immediately after a few bites and periodically to be sure we had all we needed. Her cute southern y'all had us curious where she was from and surprisingly here but close friends all southern she picked up some of their lingo. We will try dinner another time hope she is there when we go. Would have been 5 star but for the frozen burgers. Would expect better from this establishment based on everything else. read more

I'm not sure who's making the Fries but relax on the salt. Good lord this was an issue on more than one occasions. Also I love Chicken and Waffles but the brunch menu decided to add Orange Peel Zest, that's a major no no. The aftertaste was equal to orange juice after toothpaste. read more

Went for a casual brunch with family. The place is gorgeous and offers indoor and outdoor seating. Nice menu and the bloody Mary's are excellent. Service was unfortunately slow for it not being busy. I'd recommend Persimmon's for the ambience and menu selection. They're also is a mini putting green outside of the restaurant for entertainment. If you have to wait it is also a great place to snap some photos of you and your family. read more

Persimmon was an odd and disappointing experience. There are highs and lows for this visit so continue reading if interested. The place inside and out is absolutely gorgeous. It's clean, well kept and is simply beautiful. The layout is spacious and cozy with plenty of seating. We reserved a table through Resy which was super easy to do. We arrived slightly early but our table was ready for us and we were seated immediately. What we found interesting is we were near the check in and when other reservations arrived they were asked about eating inside or out. We simply weren't. Our server came right over to us and she was great the entire service. She took our order for appetizers and mains simultaneously and we were off. We got our fresh bread with butter and dipping oil which was wonderful! This got us very excited for what was to come. About 30 minutes had come and gone and there was no appetizer yet. Our server came over to inform us of the mix up and that it would be coming out with our mains. Unfortunate but not major. About 2 minutes later, everything was there. The shrimp and crab egg rolls, our appetizer, was enjoyable but nothing exciting. We ordered a side of the brown butter roasted cauliflower with roasted pistachios and it was bad. My wife found a hair and removed it, we discussed returning it but decided we wanted to move forward and just eat. The cauliflower was undercooked, cold and had little to no flavor. Our mains, I had the Cajun Style Shrimp and Grits and this was very good, I can recommend this dish. It was uneven in temperature though. My shrimp were cooked to perfection, they were fresh and hot. The andouille sausage on it was good but room temperature. My wife ordered the Beef and Orange salad and ordered chicken as an additional protein. The salad was fresh, well balanced and the orange vinaigrette, which they initially forgot to bring out, was enjoyable. The chicken though was completely dry and tough to eat. We were so excited to try Persimmon and completely underwhelmed by the whole experience. Even a small gesture by the staff where they typically say thank you, have a good night didn't happen as we walked by 3 of them to exit. When we researched the menu , when we saw the place it seemed like a spot we were ready to frequent. Instead we will probably wait awhile and try again in the future to give them another try. We waited patiently for nearly an hour and watched as two tables who arrived after us were greeted and served, while we were completely overlooked. This beautifully appointed restaurant on the Timber Banks golf course did not disappoint. We stopped by for lunch today and were amazed by the space. The dining room is set up with views of the golf course, with booths and tables of various sizes. There is a large bar area with secondary bar seating. There is also a fireplace and conversation seating. The physical space is simply gorgeous. Even the bathrooms are beautifully appointed. There is nothing in Baldwinsville that compares to this space. Service is friendly and attentive. The food...wonderful! We ordered two salads, a Cob with added shrimp and a Caesar. We also ordered a hummus platter. Everything was artfully presented, fresh and tasty. This would be a perfect place to serve afternoon tea. The upstairs has a banquet space with a wonderful view. Beautiful restaurant located on gold course. They have a large indoor seating area with a big bar. We opted to sit outside and there was plenty of seating outside and there is also a large bar outside with TVs but this was closed during our visit. Service was good. Lots of good options on the menu which was great and it made it hard to decide since everything sounded great. We both got cocktails which were good. My husband started with soup which was good. We got the Buffalo balls with blue cheese which were good. Dinner also comes with bread, the oil with it was so good. For dinner I got the chicken riggies, which were good just needed more sauce and my husband got the pesto sausage pasta and he enjoyed this. Perfect outdoor dinner options. This was a great dining experience. You wouldn't necessarily think you would get this kind of experience at a golf course restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. Waitress was awesome, chatted with us and was very attentive. Got us all our drinks very fast and always accommodated what we asked. This is my second visit with a friend and unfortunately this time the food just wasn't on point. The ambiance is lovely, though if you sit in a booth they are so high you are secluded from surroundings. My Pear Cosmo was an interesting twist I did enjoy that, I would have had a second if not driving! The Lobster Shrimp Egg rolls are delicious and the Wedge salad is plentiful, with yummy blue cheese! The Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry my friend ordered was inedible. It looks like a meal you would order from Fresh Pet and did not taste any better! It does not even resemble stir fry more of a puréed dish. The waitress did mention they have had numerous complaints on this entree and it was removed from the check. The mini short rib tacos have had a make over in toppings since our last visit. It was a bit of an overkill on the salsa and the short rib was greasy and fatty making it difficult to consume, I did like the Avocado Sour Cream. I only had one of the three mini tacos the others remain in my fridge unlikely to be ingested, I preferred the previous toppings. Service was attentive for the first half of our meal it was much slower towards the end with a bit of a wait for check and to go box and bag. Not a big deal considering my friend and I had plenty of catching up! I left the 4 Stars for ambiance and service. The food was more of a 3 this visit unfortunately. read more

Server brought it back to the kitchen when everyone else was halfway done w their meal, no one offered any kind of compensation or to remove the dishes from the bill. They have a lovely assortment of drinks and serve a nice bread with dipping oil. I started with the pork belly, this was my favorite presentation and it was delicious! This was Pork belly with a butternut squash purée, the pomegranate gave it a nice texture and beautifully garnished with sprouts. This was a highlight! They make their own homemade noodles so I had to try the short rib ravioli. I'll be honest it sounded odd, but intrigued me. I love short ribs and I've had some incredible short ribs over the years, so I have high demands for a good short rib. Having it in a ravioli was new for me and It was phenomenal! The short ribs in the ravioli were tender, the sauce was unique and surprisingly I enjoyed it, the vegetables were a nice balance to the dish. The carrots and brussel spouts gave it more flavor and balanced out the beefy entrée. My friends enjoyed the chicken riggies (she said it had some spice to it!) and the cilantro lime shrimp linguini, which looked very delicious! I had a togo smash burger for my husband, it was good. It reminded us of the flavor of a Big Mac because of the thousand island dressing, but a high quality version. The burgers were juicy, cheesy like we love with a beautiful fresh bun! You can tell everything is made fresh. Thank you for the delicious meal and fantastic ambiance, we loved Persimmons. We'll be back! Parking/entrance note: it suprised me on the location of this restaurant, so if you're wondering yes just keep driving past all the houses as it's located in the back. Then, follow the road around to the back of the pretty building as the parking and entrance is in the back. The parking and entrance confused me as there is a lovely looking door with a gable roof on the side I thought would be an entrance, but it's not. Place looks great - pricing is like the York downtown Syracuse - but not even close food wise or service wise. Been there 20 times -was good maybe twice. Management either does not care or they don't have a clue. Would love it to be good - but it's not. Can you imagine asking for a credit card before you start eating ? No Water have to ask - no silver until after food is present. No bread for dinner ? Weak drinks - food is so marginal yet priced like it's fine dining. read more
