Chicken Tenders
Benny G.

The food here is absolutely fantastic! I had the spike burger and it was a home run! The chicken tenders were delicious! This is a must try! Service was perfect! Also the bar setting was very nice! All around a great place!

During our family roadtrip to Syracuse, we actually had the intention of visiting one out of two popular food establishments but to our dismay, they were first come first serve only and had too long of a wait. This actually worked out in our favor as that was the reason we stumbled upon this hidden gem! Not to mention, it was a bonus that this spot has its own free parking lot as that was also the other struggle we were facing with the more popular establishments in the downtown area. Upon entering, we walked into a completely empty dining room. No employees, no customers. You can imagine our slight confusion and fear about whether that meant this wasn't a good spot to be. We then realized that down the hall on the left, there was a bar area which was very lively and filled with people. Back to the dining area, there was an employee who had already seemingly clocked out, who asked if we had been helped yet, and when we said no, he went to the kitchen to grab the hostess. The waitress then told us we could seat ourselves wherever we liked, so we opted for some high chairs and a table near the side of the restaurant. We were quickly offered menus and drinks. As for food, we ended up ordering a bunch of dishes to share: - BANG BANG SHRIMP TACOS WITH TORTILLA CHIPS & SALSA: I was pleasantly surprised by this dish which actually might be my favorite out of everything we had. The shrimp were of good size and tender. The portions of the entire dish were really good as well. - CHICKEN TENDERS WITH SWEET POTATO FRIES: The tenders striked me as being hand battered and had a nice, light crisp to them. Their honey mustard sauce was homemade and so good that we had to ask for more! The sweet potato fries were a $2 upcharge but worth it in my opinion. I thought it was interesting that they served them with a side of maple syrup versus an aioli (which we pair it with typically in Canada). - SPIKE BURGER WITH HOMEMADE CHIPS: I requested my burger to be medium and it was exactly that with a nice light pink center. The brioche bun was soft and the meat had a really nice char to it, tasting like it came straight off a grill. The homemade chips were also such a good call, as they were so light, crispy, and not greasy at all. - PHILLY CHEESE STEAK WITH CRINKLE FRIES: If I had to pick my least favorite dish, it might be this one as some of the meat was on the drier side. I'm also not the biggest fan of crinkle fries as they're very potato-y and soft, and I definitely felt they could be crispier. This was a Wednesday special though! - CEASAR SALAD: A regular 'ol salad, I don't have much to say about it other than the fact that I wish there was a little more dressing. Service was very friendly between both the waitress and the nice gentleman (owner?) who came out to say bye to us and have a chat when he found out we were from Ontario. Our waitress came by multiple times to check up on us, gave us extra sauces without hesitation, and made sure our glasses were full. This place has a really cute vibe to it, between the decor with neat trinkets, as well as the soft music in the background. Note: there is a 0.04 cent per dollar charge for credit card payment.

The service was very friendly and attentive. This was probably the best part of my visit. They did have a nice selection of beers on tap and in cans. It was a cozy pub and typical of what you might expect for ambiance. I came here because so many people have raved about their chicken tenders. I had to try them for myself. Unfortunately, they were not good at all. They were greasy, the chicken was dry and not juicy. There was more breading than chicken. I brought them home for family to try and they said it tasted like they were fried in the same oil as fish. This might have been a one off so I won't write them off, maybe other food they have tastes better.

Food and service was very great! Not a long wait. Chicken and fries were very crispy if that's your jam! All around good vibe for food and drinks.

I don't think the pictures we have on here do it justice- it's a super quaint little place with really friendly and hardworking staff. Pretty extensive food menu except they ran out of their fish special right before we got there. Every guest at my table loved their meal (I captured a pic of all of them). The chicken on my sandwich was flaky and fresh. Everything on our table looked super fresh and well made. They only offered one dessert tonight which was fried Oreos.

So....I guess I was here in 2019. My daughter in law pointed that out! Don't remember. Fast forward 2023. Great experience! Marge ordered the prime rib with two sides. The prime rib came out medium rare as ordered. You could cut it with a butter knife. Melt in your mouth goodness. Her sides were fries and mac salad. Fries were standard crinkle cut. Mac salad was on point. Horn pasta with plenty of chunky cheeses. Nice representation of homemade pasta salad. Tasty dressing. I had the fried haddock, with Mac and cheese and coleslaw as my sides. Fried haddock pretty standard. Tartar and cocktail sauces definitely homemade. Mac and cheese was cheesy and moist. Coleslaw had a nice homemade dressing recipe taste. I appreciated that the cabbage was not all finely chopped as well. Bartender/server was friendly and attentive. Clientele was locals with a friendly vibe. We really enjoyed it. Check em out !

When we arrived, there was a mix up with the seating and their IPad, so we had to wait a couple minutes. But it was not too long of a wait before we were sat. Our waitress was over within a couple minutes to take our drink orders, and like I said we frequent Tully's, so my wife and I ordered our food right then. Being allergic to alcohol, it was nice to see they have a mocktail menu (which I had not seen before), and I ordered a sparkling strawberry lemonade. This drink had a very good flavor to it, with the combination of the lemon with strawberry along with the carbonation. This drink was so good, my wife ended up ordering one too. We ordered mozzarella sticks as a starter, which came to the table relatively fast, and were piping hot. The mozzarella sticks had a nice crunch to them with a great cheese pull. I ordered the buffalo tenders dinner, as I always do. The food was out pretty quickly. The fries were warm, salty, and crispy along with the tenders being nice and crispy. Tully's also has some of my favorite coleslaw, and the one I had with my dinner did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Asian tender dinner, and was crispy and warm like mine. The restaurant had many different games and sports on, with a plethora of college football games and horse racing to catch your attention. Husbands/Boyfriends, just be careful... my attention was on the TVs a lot, and the wife was not too keen on that (peep the attached photo). As per usual, we had a great time and great food while here and definitely will be back. The thing that kind of stunk was the fact they only have shirts that go up to XL (both in store and online), which would not work for a larger person like me.

He asked for my ID, which is fair because I just recently turned 21 a few months ago and granted I do look very young. Also, I was with my girlfriend who is from Illinois and he was extremely rude about her getting a second form of ID... like ok bro chill out please. She is getting out her passport and we are joking about how she accidentally brought it and how convenient that was. Anyways he barks some command at me in some incoherent mumble language, which I respond "what." After I say this he flips his absolute shit and tells us to get out or else. He refunds my buddy who had already got served and dumps his beer down the drain. I don't understand why this guy hates money or people who are under the age of 55 but he should really look himself in the mirror. Also the balding bartender needs to chill tf out as he genuinely looked like he was ready to fight us and he wasn't even there during the incident. DO NOT GO HERE.

I planned on trying the chicken parmesean special but was told it was sold out at 5:59pm which was kind of surprising. The decor is nice. It's located in an older house so there is unlevel flooring from room to room but they are mindful to make you aware. The food was delicious although not what you may expect. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo which was delicious but it also had blue cheese in it. Huh. The golden beet salad was very very good. In all, it was a lovely, scenic evening. I wish the staff well...
