Wanted to give this place a try based off the reviews it has. Arrived to a very small parking lot. Once inside the place gave a " unfinished " vibe. The ceiling tiles were out of place and each wall was a different color. No one greeted us at the door for a few minutes. Once finally sat, the lady asked us the general questions. There was no " hi how are you ". She seemed like she just hated everything about her job. Once we got our order taken, we were able to give a look around. Floors were disgusting and tables sticky. The food was undercooked and had no taste whatsoever. The music blasting from the kitchen was very distracting. The menu is mostly standard breakfast food but it is all prepared well, fresh and served by super nice staff. We had several "special orders" and everything came out exactly as requested. Great food and great service. We found this diamond in the rough by chance when spending the night at the track and it turned into the high point of our visit. Our server was helpful and hysterical especially when the cook came out to see how our meals were. It was almost a little comedy skit. You knew they really enjoyed working there. We were at Turning Stone for a Holiday Party on Friday night. We wanted a "diner" breakfast after a night of celebrating and this gem of a restaurant popped up on maps (3 miles away). We love finding new places... family owned... not chains! This little restaurant is small, cozy and definitely has a "lived in" appeal. The food was absolutely amazing! Portions were huge! So far this is the best diner I've been to on my diner tour of the greater Utica area. Came in on a sleepy Wednesday and got top quality service and high quality food. Ordered a giambotte and it did not disappoint. Rich in flavor and plenty and most importantly easy on the wallet. Everything was very affordable. Generally the ambiance hits the nail on the head too. Just very personal feel to the whole place and extremely good service. I could see myself coming here a lot more if I lived closer to Oneida. We wanted to find a local restaurant for breakfast and found a great place in Sherrill in the Corner Diner Too. I had an egg platter while my wife had eggs on the corn beef hash. Both dishes were great! The home fries were pretty good that was crispy and had good flavor. I prefer a little more onions in my home fries but understand not everyone likes onions in their home fries. Overall the breakfast met our expectations and the reviews in YELP certainly lived up to the reputation and helped with our decision to choose this restaurant. We had to wait about 10 minutes to get to our table, which to us was a good sign. At the end of our meal, the waitress told us the owner was buying our breakfast since we had to wait so long. The wait was not long and we tried to pay our bill. We did leave a good tip for the waitress but were surprised at the good customer satisfaction at Corner Diner Too. read more

Cute little diner that does have very large servings. We tried their Hill Billy breakfast plate with home fries and Veggie Lover omelette with hash browns. A very small breakfast diner that you probably wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it. Very cute inside however. They have an amazing 4 page breakfast/brunch menu & a small but hearty lunch menu. They even have daily specials, although it is hard to imagine something that isn't already on the menu! Portions are huge, but so good it is difficult to not stuff yourself. Do yourself a favor plan on eating 1/2 & taking half home. Add that we're early 70s, = decades of breakfasts. The Yelp reviews are excellent though I take issue with "hole in the wall." Sure, it's a bit worn but it's immaculate. Every time we drive by this place is packed, so we gave it a try today. Okay .. the physical atmosphere is a great big zero. BUT... obviously everyone in the place knew each other and they were all regulars. The staff treated us like family and we the friendliest people we have seen that have to deal with the public :-) I had french toast and crispy bacon. It was perfect. Yes - people DO screw up French Toast - -I get it too dry at places .. (eggs do not always saturate the bread) .. but this French Toast was perfect. The bacon was just as I like it .. almost burned! My wife had eggs over easy and toast. We just popped in for a fast breakfast and it was delicious. The menu looks really interesting and we are going back for a bigger meal sometime.
