Wife had the chicken pita combo and a water that cost $17 and I had the Bacon Blu burger combo with tots and a milkshake at $21 pricey for a to go place but we were hungry. The burger was the thinnest I've ever had and seemed like it was boiled in water. Buried in the bun and masked by loads of sautéed onions and the blue cheese crumbles. Walked in at 8:08 to order dinner, there were 5 of us. Hours posted online say they are open til 9:00. The owner/manager very loudly made a comment to the other employees that we were coming in with 30 minutes left...loud enough for us all to hear. That, along with the glares we got made it extremely awkward to be there. We have been good customers over the years and I just thought this was very rude and uncalled for, definitely not a welcoming atmosphere. Will think twice before going back, sadly. Yesterday evening we were treated to a soundless symphony of movement as the men preparing our meal coordinated their movements to cook at the grill, restock the freezer and cheese dispenser, wipe up Humpty Dumpty while the tall young lady taking orders occasionally danced across the stage delivering trays to awaiting customers. After a golf game, was searching for a good dog in the area and wow, did Nicky deliver! Their snap coney is actually a bratwurst tucked into a folded, buttery toasted slice of bread. Both bathrooms had feces all over and it was gross. If you want an old school "everything here will clog your arteries" summer vacation sort of experience, they will certainly give it to you here. As is the case with many places in upstate NY, this is not someplace you go to for healthy food. There are a ton of options for burgers and ice cream, though! The ice cream is pretty good. I went to Nicky Doodles for the first time today and it was absolutely delicious. I had a steakburger with cheese and mushrooms and it was a 10/10 - the fries with cheese sauce were great too. It is so clean inside and you can tell the owners were making the food with pride... and it showed - they have inside tables and a ton of picnic tables... don't miss this place. Even though the food is all heart-attack inducing comfort food, with a little ice cream to top off the ol' arteries, it hits the spot when you're road-tripping (Just be sure your stomach is strong). Just as others have commented, the service was a little spotty. I asked the cashier what the "snappy (coney) dog" was. And the girl says, with a deadpan expression, "it's a white dog, it's snappy." I love New England hot dog rolls...they're so much better than ours! The onion rings were huge and came with an orange colored creamy sauce with a hint of horseradish. So tasty! I got equally odd looks from the younger server when explaining what I wanted (are deadpan expressions a NY thing?). My sundae was a whole lotta peanut butter and chocolately goodness, with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry - and it was YUGE! I could only eat the top. Hubs ate the rest. They have both soft serve and hard ice cream, with loads of flavors and toppings. Something for everyone. It's a definite must, if driving through NY! Summer Food at its finest. This place is definitely a small town gem. Burgers, Dogs, Fries and Shakes + some added extras. I had the Nicky Burger. Thought it would be a safe bet to go with what I'm assuming is their signature burger. It was a single patty with cheese and meat sauce. Hybrid between a burger and a sloppy joe. I had never eaten a burger like it prior. Seasoned well and quite flavorful. Accompanying the burger were some classic golden french fries. Crispy and delicious. I also had to grab some type of ice cream as this joint has SO MANY flavors. I'm a huge milkshake fan, so I kept it relatively simple with a chocolate/peanut butter shake. I was not disappointed. Perfect balance of flavors and super creamy. Given its location, on a hot day this establishment is hard to beat for good summer eats. read more

However, don't get any food here. I ordered a veggie burger which one I am thankful thy had it on the menu but two they cooked it on the grill with a ton of oil. It came out extremely greasy and disgusting. I also ordered a side of potato salad and I went to eat it, the potatoes weren't even cooked all the way! I had to ask for an exchange and get Mac salad. Lastly they nickel and dime for everything at the food counter. They offer ketchup and bbq sauce free but when I asked for a side of honey mustard they wanted $0.80 for it. Really? That's a ridiculous price, most other plays would at least charge only $0.25 or just give it for free. I'll be back for ice cream but won't eat your greasy uncooked food again. read more

I finally made my way to Nicky Doodles after hearing many great things about it. I was not disappointed. I ordered the famous doodle dumpster. It was very good. It featured two hot dogs, cheese, fries, burger, with macaroni salad on top. I took the two dogs out and put them in the rolls. They were delicious, they were flavorful and grilled perfectly. The burger was solid and the fries were good too. They were crispy and flavorful. The macaroni salad was delicious. It was some of the best macaroni salad I've had. The whole thing was so big and filling that I could only eat about half of the plate. Overall, Nicky Doodles was very good and I hope to be back again. read more

You can get any of a hundred different flavors, and you know it is good because it is packed from the minute they open in the late spring to the minute they close in the fall. You can get hamburgers and hot dogs inside if you want, but in my estimation, why bother when there is delicious ice cream? ? My favorite? There is a little-known Maple Syrup sundae and a "new" Ice cream Nachos. I know that one sounds weird, but it is a huge pile of soft serve ice cream with fudge, peanut butter sauce, and caramel over it served with pieces of waffle come on the side so you can dip it in the ice cream like nachos. The ice cream here is AMAZING. Seriously - soft serve, hard ice cream, sundaes - all unbelievable. The food isn't my favorite, but the ice cream is super yummy, and I stop here whenever I'm in town (in the summer). I love that they have outdoor seating, and plenty of it. The parking lot is huge, so you can always find parking, and even when the lines are long, they still have enough staff working that it's never a long wait. read more

Quality burger joint. Ordered about 5 things off the menu, all was great. Buns on all sandwiches were better quality than I expected. Sauce on the Buffalo chicken sandwich wasn't spectacular.
