My FAVORITE place to eat when I travel to Syracuse for work!!! Food and service are top notch! The pancakes are amazing.

Beautiful diner! Bright and cheery! The food is excellent! It's a step up from the typical diner experience! Beware! Brunch on the weekends are extremely busy - there's a significant wait time, perhaps book ahead?

The Double: 2 Eggs, meat, home fries (plus pancake)

We went to The Daily Diner in North Syracuse for the first time. We had never been to the other location either. We walked in around 9:30 am. The parking lot was packed but there wasn't a wait. We were greeted immediate at the hostess stand. Everyone all around was very friendly and made it appoint to say hi and interact in some way. Our server Juliette was at our table within 30 seconds of us sitting to ask if we wanted some drinks. She was very friendly and on top of things for our entire visit. My mom got The Double. 2 eggs, bacon, home fries, and a pancake. Her eggs were cooked over medium to perfection and her bacon was very crispy without being burnt. The pancake had a crisp edge and the syrup/butter sauce was the best syrup I've ever had. I got the half Frittata (minus sausauge) with Italian toast. It was smaller than other half frittatas I've gotten but still way more food than I can eat. It was good but I was a little food envious over my mom's pancake. Lol. We saw the dessert case on the way in so we knew we had to take some stuff home to try. Carrot Cake. This was the absolute best carrot cake I've ever had. Not overloaded on spices and the frosting wasn't over sweet. The cake itself had a nice soft texture with a crunch from the nuts. Chocolate Cake. Very good. Rich and decadent. I can't wait to go back and try more things. My mom is pretty picky and doesn't like most of our local diners, so the fact that she liked everything is a win.

My family decided to try the new daily diner out for Father's Day. We went at 8am and was told about a 45min wait but ended up being only 30min (we thought this was great because we could tell they might not be fully staffed and last year we went to the daily diner out in manlius and that was a 90 min wait). Love that they have a bright and colorful theme, just puts you in a good mood. The Daily Diner has a large menu which makes it hard for me to decide but I went with the Mexicali omelette and honestly it was okay but not great. It tasted great but there just wasn't much in it and I tend to expect a loaded omelette. My favorite part is the pancake, it's the best honestly because it has a sweet fluffy taste with amazing syrup. Most pancakes are bland and thin when I try them at other places. They are super accommodating and let my dad split his 2 pancakes to 1 pancake and toast for his combo. Overall my family enjoyed their meals too and it's just a fun place to have breakfast. Penny our server was great and always checking on us. We all got coffee and there someone coming around every 10 min which was great because we got our fill. Side note I love that they don't give a small coffee mug and give a full size mug.

My dining companion and I met my Syracuse cousins at The Daily Diner on our way home from a weekend trip. Apparently, this is the new outpost of The Daily Diner in Manlius, and it's housed in an old Ponderosa restaurant. We liked the retro diner vibe. When we arrived a little after 11:30 AM on Sunday there was a wait-list, but it moved quickly. Our server was pleasant, although it took a little longer than expected to receive our meals. My cousins opted to share a short stack of pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. One cousin enjoyed what she said tasted like freshly squeezed orange juice, but the other found her coffee undrinkable. She had asked for cream but milk and those little cups of International Delight creamer were all that were offered. Neither found the bacon crispy enough, even after it had been sent back to the kitchen once. The pancakes were enormous! One cousin asked for butter, but was told that the syrup accompanying the pancakes was actually half syrup and half butter. My companion ordered the single smash burger, which comes with American cheese and pickles, along with a generous side of fries. She thought it was good. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich with gravy and fries, which I enjoyed, although I thought they went a little heavy with the salt and pepper on the fries. The turkey wasn't fresh roasted turkey but thinly sliced luncheon meat, which made the sandwich easy to cut and tasted just fine. I asked for cranberry sauce to go with, but unfortunately that wasn't offered. We didn't have dessert but cupcakes and pastry are offered, along with some pretty awesome looking milkshakes. I would definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the area and try some of their other options.

I have never been to the Manlius location but when I saw the North Syracuse location open up close by to my home I had to stop in after hearing such great things. They did not disappoint. Everyone working was really pleasant and friendly. The coffee came promptly and fresh. The servers made sure the coffee never stopped flowing. I sat at the counter and even chatted with one of the servers and had a nice breakfast. I didn't have to wait long for my food and everything I had was quite tasty. I find the food to be a bit pricier than your average diner, but this isn't your average diner and I think the portions and service more than compensate for the slightly higher pricing. I don't know what kind of syrup they use but it tastes different to me and is absolutely delicious. The server gave me an extra to take home with my food, so appreciated. The place is pretty spacious but fills up quickly as it is so popular. There are elevated booths, tables, and then counter seats. I sat at the counter and the seating was quite comfortable.

Another visit and I remembered to take more photos. The food is excellent. The diner is comfortable and brightly lit (which is a positive). The service is very good, however, if you ask for something special (like a request for different syrup) you may need to ask twice because they are busy.

I was visiting the area and a friend mentioned The Daily Diner's new location for breakfast. We got there around 9:30 on a Sunday and there was about an hour wait. We decided to sit at the counter, which was spacious! Service was also great at the counter. Their menu is fun, great traditional breakfast items but also some with a fun pizzazz! Fruity pebbles or cookies and cream pancakes? Yes, please! If your more of an eggs and toast kind of person they have some great options. I went with the french toast and requested it to be cookies and cream! Very sweet, as to be expected, but good! I would love to try some of their milkshakes.

Love the transformation from that ugly ponderosa restaurant to this bright and airy restaurant. Staff is very welcoming and we were seated right away on Saturday around 1:00. So many choices but I went with the blueberry pancakes with crisp bacon. The full stack was huge and delicious. I found them to be fluffy but with substance and a cake like taste. I think this is my favorite blueberry pancake in Syracuse. The bacon was perfectly cooked. I will not hesitate to come back when I'm in the area and get these again. Thank you for opening a quality diner in Syracuse.

I met my daughter for my birthday brunch on a Sunday at one pm and we were seated immediately with no wait in a large booth by a window. Business was still steady but we were provided with menus and water very quickly. We took our time scouring the vast menu. I ordered a sunrise mimosa which was good but lacking the color gradient red, orange , and yellow, mimicking sunrise. Which was disappointing the specialty mimosas are not part of the BOGO offer, in retrospect I would have went with the original. At the recommendation of server I went with Monte Cristo French toast. I'm a Monte Cristo girl whenever I see that on a menu, few establishments offer the dish and I love the spin of making with French toast and confectionery sugar is classic topping. It was enormous with heaping pile of ham, turkey and cheese layers in thick slices of French toast, served with maple syrup. I love it with a raspberry dipping sauce but this was very good. We shared home fries that were well seasoned and delish potato yum! My daughter ordered breakfast sandwich to order bagel with egg, and choice of cheese. That was enormous and tasty as well. Neither of us could finish, my leftovers lasted two additional snack/meal! Great service, food, in a retro diner decor.

1 - "Practice Mode" Is Not an Excuse for Serving Garbage They've got a cute little sign saying "Practice Mode" like this is a video game and not a restaurant charging $15+ for cold, flavorless food. How long exactly is this "soft opening" supposed to last? Until someone accidentally learns how to poach an egg? Worst coffee I've had in Syracuse. Full stop. It tasted like hot dishwater filtered through regret. My Benedict came with rubbery, overcooked eggs and a sauce that might've been hollandaise in another life. Everything was cold. Everything was bland. The place looks like it was designed by someone who Googled "modern diner aesthetic" and stopped at Edison bulbs and fake nostalgia. It's trying so hard to feel like a hip corporate concept, but the only thing authentic here is the disappointment. Save your time, money, and taste buds. There are better options literally within walking distance that don't serve brunch in "practice".

The diner is big and very clean and the service was great but they need to lower the prices cause some dishes are not worth 15 dollars.

Walking through the restaurant was nice as the space was very large and the decor indoor was cozy and whimsical. Our server was nice throughout the meal. However, I did get a water glass that had marks on it that looked like someone just drank out of it and a crumb on the rim. I asked them if they could get me a clean cup and they ended up bringing the same one as the same mark and crumb were still there. For food, our table ordered a few items to share. We got: -CAULIFLOWER WINGS: The chutney/salsa on top of the fried cauliflower was nice and gave the item a little sour kick. However, the cauliflower itself was not cooked fully so not as soft as I wanted it to be. -SYRACUSE POUTINE: The appearance of the poutine was not the best. However, the gravy it came with was very flavorful and tasty. The potatoes themselves were not fried and were in wedge form but went well with the gravy. The small globs of melted cheese on top were a nice complement. -CAJUN SLIDERS: The slider compliments/sauce went well together but the sliders themselves had grill marks on it which gave a bitter bite to those parts of the slider. Additionally, the fried shrimp inside of the slider still had the tail on and so it was a bit of a surprise to bite into a full tail while eating a slider. All in all, a cute spot to see people but food had some hit or miss components.

Even though the restaurant only had two large parties and wasn't particularly busy, we still waited 35 minutes to be seated. That alone didn't make sense, but things only went downhill from there. It was my daughter's birthday, and we were hoping for a fun brunch. Our server started off friendly, but that changed quickly. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time--a chai tea for me, a specialty alcoholic milkshake for my daughter, and no drink for her boyfriend, plus three entrées and a poutine. The drinks took 50 minutes to arrive. The food took over an hour and a half. During all this, the server seemed to avoid our table entirely. When my daughter's boyfriend finally managed to get her attention--very politely, even mentioning that he himself is a server--he simply asked if she had an estimate on our food. She stood there with her hand on her hip and told us the kitchen was backed up, with "three orders ahead of yours," as if that explained everything. We then asked if the poutine, our appetizer, was at least ready. She said they had to make fresh potatoes for it but that she would "rush it." Eventually, she came back with the poutine, plopped it down on the table, and walked away without a single word. No "here you go," no "do you need anything," and--most importantly--no plates. I ended up getting up and asking the hostess for plates so we could actually eat the appetizer. For a place that markets itself as a "fancy diner" with "Instagram-worthy" dishes, the service and execution were nowhere near acceptable. If you're going to lean into trendy presentation and premium pricing, you need the staff to support it. Hire more people. Train them. Do something--because this was unacceptable from start to finish. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a smooth, enjoyable dining experience. **EDIT** I would like to include the fact of the over priced, over salted, food items don't seem to cover the cost to upgrade your cracked booths so that people's bums are hurt from sitting on them. Needs to be updated and correct staffing issues so that food will be "adequate" for the price. Go anywhere on Westcott than here.

Quality of the food depends. The $18 salad was a plate of iceberg lettuce with a few scraps of cheese thrown on. The salad was the biggest disappointment. On the other hand, the classic poutine was bang on. Great ratio of gravy to fries, everything was nice, all the flavors were right. But the rest of the poutines have too much quality variation, which is unforgivable for a place advertising their 12 different kinds of poutine. None of the other flavors were nearly as good as the classic, with combos that didn't work. The burger was tasty. However, it was supposed to be medium and it was very rare. The beer cheese pretzel was also disappointing. The cheese had been cooked too long, or maybe microwaved, because it had seized and was very coarse and mealy. The amount of cheese was also not enough for the pretzel. Service was great. No complaints about any of the waitresses or hostesses. Overall, a fine place near downtown to get a classic poutine and an artisanal beer. Stay away from everything else.
