We ended up here when we saw the line for the new location for the diner at 4002 West Genesee St. There was a short wait with no one in front of us they made us sign in. Ordered a "Benny" with biscuits & gravy, corn beef hash, two eggs over easy with hash browns from the grill (with onions). I enjoy the platter and will have them add the peppers next time for color and added flavor. My wife had a cheese omelet (cheddar & feta) folded into the omelet - she would have preferred the items mixed in (next time). Was in Syracuse for the weekend and this was right up the street from where I was staying for a late Sunday breakfast. Environment was relaxing, walked in and could sit wherever we wanted and the waitress was over quickly. Some of the positives were the staff were very nice, the food came quick, pancakes were good and pricing was more than fair. Food lacked a little bit of taste for diner breakfast. This has been a great place to stop by to grab breakfast in the morning. If I'm heading out this way early in the morning, chances are I'll be passing this place anyway. In my experience the orders are always ready pretty quick, and never later than they indicate over the phone or on their website. I love that they handle the orders right on their own website (no gouging from a 3rd party service). It's a simple process, and I would can run through it before I walk out the door, knowing that by the time I get there it'll be ready and paid for. As far as the quality of the food, it's all about what you'd expect from a diner. I haven't had anything that makes them a must try place, but anything I've had was reliably good, made on time, and service has been great. They've got a pretty big menu, so even after eating here a dozen or so times there's still things I'd like to try. You get way more with your money than you would a fast food place - better quality food for about the same price. If you're eating on the go, the breakfast sandwiches are great, and you get them with a full order of tots for $7.99. Not a lot to say about the food, but it's a great alternative to fast food in quality, convenience and price. read more

I was taking here so we could have brunch the place was pretty crowded apparently this is the second location the platters are huge prices are very economical and they're quick to serve even local police stops here plenty of parking and I was happily surprised that they had a great selection for everyone to choose from I have a headache and eggs with home fries totally delicious. read more

A bit of a disappointment really. There are so many good diners to choose from that I would put this way down my list. Especially as it's next door to a much better place. When you enter, there's nothing to let you know whether or not to wait for seating so you stand there looking foolish until you just sit yourself and hope! I was served coffee fairly quickly but getting my order taken was longer. I ordered 2 eggs, over medium, bacon and fries and raisin toast. Eggs and bacon arrived but no fries so I had to wait again. When I finally tucked in, the eggs were incredibly runny and rather unpleasant in texture. Whatever bacon they're using is extremely salty and the raisin toast was thick, doughy and unappetizing. Couldn't eat much of it. Fries were good when they finally arrived. Hate giving bad write ups but unless I'm 100% honest, there's not much point in posting. I will try again though. The Betty Boop atmosphere is very pleasant. The service was excellent considering we were the first customers of the day at 6am. Breakfast sausage had the same taste as hot dogs, scrambled eggs with no flavor were the first assault of our tastebuds. The home fries were 3/4 done and soaked in oil. The bread for toast must have been toasted the night before or the bread left out on the countertop all night for it was cold and hard. I was in town from Rochester with a local friend and we had tried Little Gem Diner first, but it was unfortunately closed. Our server, Chelsea was THE ONLY good in our experience at this diner! Shortly after we were seated, 2 line cooks began to very loudly verbally argue from the kitchen. It could be heard throughout the entire restaurant and lasted until finally Chelsea had to call the manager to take action. When our food came out, the roast beef sandwich my company ordered had a bizarre taste, like a frozen Steak-Ums kind of flavor. He was unable to eat it. My patty arrived and although the Tater Tots were edible, the patty which I ordered medium rare was completely raw. We relayed all of this to Chelsea and she not only apologized for the cook's behavior, but took the patty melt off the check. We took it to go and brought it home to cook properly. I and a friend went here for the first time after always hearing rave reviews but the food was absolutely the worst! My friend ordered a bowl of oatmeal and they brought her a huge bowl that wasn't cooked. She had them take it back, which they did and gave her English muffin and a scrambled egg instead and they muffin was over toasted. I order a cheese omelet and bacon. The omelet was cold, cheese hard and stringy. The bacon was very crisp and cold and it looked like it had been around for a long long time. I didn't have time to send food back, which I really hate to do. So disappointed. I would never go there again. The only good thing was that the staff was friendly and the coffee was OK. read more

I've always enjoyed Stellas at the original location so I figured I'd give it a try. It was a Sunday every place I tried had very long wAits so we tried here. The wait was roughly 15mins. Trying to get in was challenging it's a small area where everyone waiting clogged up. Had to ask people to move to be seated. With three people working the counter they could have had people keep the way clear. Our waitress was great coffee kept warm and full. We both ordered eggs a fretta and omelette with sides of bacon. Eggs were way over cooked. My fretta actually looked like a pizza. I was a little disappointed. I may try this location again just might not order eggs read more

Stella's is a new addition to the Camillus community. It is located in the previous Pizza Hut building on West Genesee St location. It proved to be a good business move and a wonderful opportunity for a well needed diner in this area. My wife and I tried it for the first time since it opened. It was busy which is always a good sign. However, after stepping foot in the door my impression changed dramatically. We had to sign in on a piece of paper and wait for our name to be called. Within moments someone in the back began what can only be described as dressing down another employee with degrading comments loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear that continued for at least 7-8 minutes. It went on so long that even I wanted to either resign on behalf of the employee or discuss how to speak to others in a respectful manner....as nobody should be talked to that way. When we were seated the overwhelming smell of dirty rag permeated the air surrounding the Betty Boop decor. The waitress was kind and service was decent but you could feel an attitude of good enough. I am sure this was a result of the working conditions stemming from the booming voice from the kitchen putting everyone on edge. I had an omelet with Italian toast. The omelet was very good and a good size for the price. But the toast was the heal of the bread and was so hard that anyone getting up there in years would have broken their teeth or had to line up replacement dentures after taking a few bites. In summary the food was middle of the road but the attitude and general atmosphere needs ALOT of attention. Employees can make or break a business and from my first experience at Stella's, the loud, degrading voice in the kitchen left a terrible taste in my mouth that even the food couldn't overshadow. Not a place I would recommend under these conditions and until that changes I wouldn't go back. read more

Stella's just opened within the last week. Seems like a soft opening. Getting table was a little clunky. Took some time in getting our order in and food served. But nothing that shouldn't be expected as they just opened and are working through the kinks. I fully expect that to improve with time. Even though the time there was longer then I expected; they were fast on coffee refills and other drink refills for the kids. Wait staff was friendly. Having been a loyal stellas customer for years at the original location, I have been disappointed twice to my visits at their new location. The first time, the order came out incorrect, when I asked the waitress to correct it, she said that is how it comes, I asked for a menu and showed her the description, it was quickly taken of and came out correctly the 2nd time..the next visit, I was eaTing at the counter and no one took my order for about 10 minutes, they had 4 tables that were in use. I had to listen to the workers talking about their lives and the normal diner drama, while I sat at the counter waiting for service. The food here is excellent, the service needs to be worked on, something the original has down to perfection. Also had to wait for my bill, others who were here after me, paid bill and left before I received my bill. read more

I arrived at stella's and instantly was pleased with the look of the establishment. The booths were silver and sleek, the tables had a cool retro pattern and the overall look of the place was pleasing. There were a plethora of options on the menu and the food we did order, a cheeseburger and chicken melt, were cooked very well and came out very fast. Overall this place is a 4.7/5 but deserves a 5 on the app. If you have to take a woman (or man) on a first date this might be the place for you read more

After having a negative experience at Stella's in Fairmount a couple years ago we decided to give it another try today and hoped our experience would be wonderful. Unfortunately it was horrible. On the one positive side there was no wait as a hand full of tables were available which was quite a surprise for a Sunday at noon! After ordering and receiving our drinks the waitress finally came back to take our order about 15-20 minutes later. After waiting close to another 50 minutes for our food we were finally able to get the waitress's attention to ask if there was a problem with our order. We were told it was busy and there were a lot of take out orders with no apology for the long wait. When our meals finally did arrive all but one was cold. At that point we did not want to complain or ask for our food to be warmed as we didn't want to wait any longer. I boxed up almost my entire meal to bring home, the others in my party were hungry and decided to brave the possibilities. Before leaving we hit the restroom only to find the condition and cleanliness disgusting. In the future if we decide we need another Stella's fix, we will visit the Wolfe Street location which has, for many years, been a great experience! read more
