I'm undecided with a review. The omelettes were just okay (my husband ordered a meat one and I ordered a veggie). The "garbage potatoes"--home fries with a whole bunch of yum cooked with it were my favorite part. The prices were high but felt appropriate for Cazenovia. There were other places that are more memorable than here for a tasty breakfast, so not sure we will return. read more

I will start this as I always do by saying I don't give five stars unless I am really blown away. I have been coming here for eight years now and I have never had a bad experience. They always serve breakfast even at lunchtime. The portions are alway good size and the food always tastes good. The the wait staff is friendly and attentive. For a diner this is top notch good coffee good food and good atmosphere. I love breakfast for lunch. Price is always good also. They have an ice cream shop here in the summertime also. Stopped here on a Sunday late morning for lunch after my sister did a race in the area. There was a pretty short wait and lots of seating despite it being prime bunch time. While I've only had lunch a couple times, it was never stellar, although it is diner food so I wasn't expecting gourmet. Breakfast is typical diner fare with reasonable prices, quick service, and a fairly large seating area and counter space. The girls working are always very friendly and are great about whatever you need. One of the "Not so great" experiences I've had... We came here for lunch on a Monday in May. It was busy, but not overwhelmingly crazy. The waitress came approx. 10 minutes after we sad down to ask for our drink order. After another 30 minutes she finally came to take our food orders. Our drinks were now empty, but nobody asked for a refill... 1 hour in and we had to remind the staff that we still haven't gotten our food, yet. Horrible experience. Ordered the pigs in the blanket because I was craving pancakes and sausage. What I received was 4 sausage links wrapped by 4 small thin and oily tasting pancakes. I was immediately disappointed and actually had to order an extra pancake because it seemed like a kids meal and the focus was more on the sausage and not the pancakes. Waitress was pleasant but was not overly friendly really short with us and barely checked in with us. Of course when it was time to pick up the check she stepped in up a little with being more friendly. Been going here for a long time. Won't return again and come to find out this establishment is under new ownership. Hopefully they can work on improving if they want to stay in business. Drove 45 min to get to this place. Looked and tasted very good. Limited veggie selections on menu -- some, but not what I was looking for today. Fell back on two eggs, home fries, and wheat toast -- hard to go wrong there. Must've had just one cook today -- and we probably hit it at peak -- took a while for our order to come up. Hit the spot once it did, though. Bottomless iced teas... I enjoyed their play on the dish. I was even tempted into getting a ice cream sundae by the waitress which was also very delicious. Here's the deal... The food is great (but it's breakfast... not brain surgery). The service was crap. Our server was a bitter older lady who tried to exchange the fewest possible number of words necessary to take an order. I thought she was going to stab me with a fork when I asked her to repeat the cheese options available. After that we didn't hear from her again. The three of us who ordered coffee were not a single time offered a refill -- seriously?!... at a breakfast joint?!? The check was then unceremoniously plopped down on the table (by another person) in the middle of the meal. Could this have been a one-off? Yes... maybe our server was having a bad day... or maybe she's always gruff and the other staff are better... but this was my experience. My friends went to breakfast here today. They're very understanding and patient with waitstaff & restaurant workers, especially since I have worked in restaurants for years as both a server and hostess. When you work in a restaurant, it's part of your job to be polite to customers. They described a very unpleasant experience to me. The hostess was rude and unprofessional from the moment they entered the restaurant. The hostess basically ordered them to sit after telling them the wait time -- "Sit down and we'll let you know when it's ready." It's the phrasing that's important here. When they were finishing up with their meal the hostess came over and said "so you guys need to leave. we need this table. We have multiple parties waiting so you can move to the coffee shop if you want." Again, this is unprofessional and rude. As a server and a former hostess, I've never addressed customers like this or asked them to move from a table. It's the language you use when speaking to customers that is so important. If they absolutely needed that specific table even though there were 4 or more other tables that were open, she could have phrased it in a more polite and professional way. However it's still a strange request to ask a paying customer to move. Not everyone is cut out to work in the service industry and that's okay, but if that hostess is going to continue in the industry, I urge her to work on her professionalism and manners! I am 20 years old and have only worked in the industry for 3 years but I have never and would never treat a customer with that level of disrespect. The service was polite and welcoming. Food was average and priced at the higher end of expectations. Sausage looked like a microwave brown and serve product.
