Date of Visit: July 15, 2023 There is nothin' fancy about this place, but it is what you'd expect from a diner. I was in the mood for a good breakfast and Nothin' Fancy didn't disappoint. Vibe: It's a diner - don't expect more - it's down to earth and basic. I would add it was a little comical, and maybe disturbing, that there is a barn across the street with cows mooing. Maybe they were just saying hi - versus Eat More Chicken' ? Service: Uber nice staff and the customers were equally as nice. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Food: Reasonably priced - I asked for the hash browns crispy and they did not disappoint. The wheat toast was unusually delicious. My only minor complaint - I asked for my eggs over-medium and they were a little runny for me. I often find this the case with over-medium eggs. All in all - I cleared my plate. All in all - happy I found it and stopped by.

Great diner and great service. Food was great, fresh baked cinnamon roll. Modestly priced also.

This place has high reviews on yelp. It's a diner. Large and hoping, even at an odd hour. But it's a diner. The old fashioned kind with those placemats you've seen for decades. The menu could be in any diner. Tons of parking. Pleasant servers. Good pricing.

Breakfast wrap with 3 eggs, sausage and Swiss with the best hash browns!!

Went there 2 days in a row while staying at a conference at the Turning Stone. Prices very reasonable, food fresh and delicious, staff friendly. Wish we has a place like this where I live!!

I probably didn't try the right stuff-- i should have had Abe's breakfast greens! But the breakfast i had was not unlike two eggs i might forget anywhere else st all on earth ever. The decor was creepy, and not retro so much as dingy. Sorry, i wanted to love it, but couldn't.

Plenty of food and friendly staff. The Friday fish is very good as is their breakfast. Reasonable priced and quick service.

A true embarrassment to himself and his businesses. My family and I were there to celebrate a birthday. Some of us were in line to order food while the others sat at a patio table. We were approached by a waitress who told us we had to leave because we had a kid under 18 with us. We were bummed and she said the owner was there and she would talk to him about it to see if he would allow an exception. We've been there before on the patio with kids since the signs for 18 and over were only on the doors beyond the patio. She came back a short time later and said no we had to leave. While we were walking back to the table to leave, the owner made a snarky comment to us about never coming back and leaving a negative review. We approached him because what business owner does that? He proceeded to raise his voice at us and have a meltdown when we were being level headed and asking about the policy and asking him to check on the multiple other tables that had kids under 18 sitting at them. He stated that he couldn't have anyone under 18 in the building because of his license. There is no such license in New York State so that was a complete lie. He then told us to just get the f*** out. It's totally fine if he wants to run his business with that policy (the only one in the area), but the manner he handled the situation was out of line and uncalled for. As per the owners request we will be leaving negative reviews and never going to a business associated with him ever again.

Seemingly in the middle of rural upstate NY is this gem of a restaurant. The server and everyone on the staff that interacted with us were simply lovely! Kind, helpful and joyful. I ordered a turkey melt with onion rings, and my friend had a burger with fried which she claimed was one of the best she had eaten in a long time. Accompanied by "sassy sauce" our fries and onion rings were dipped in this delightful yet spicy accoutrement! My turkey melt was delicious- carved turkey- not slimy cold cuts, cheese and banana peppers were a perfect and delectable combination on lightly toasted bread- simply marvelous! For desert- and they are all lovingly homemade, I had a mixed berry pie with ice cream and my friend had a slice of Dutch apple pie! Both equally and fabulously delicious! We left stuffed to the gills and so glad that we turned the truck around to try this hidden gem! Don't pass it up- stop by- it's worth it!

The dining room was spacious and clean and bright as were the servers and the bartenders who expertly served us. They have a happy hour from 5 to 7 that varies each day so on this Thursday was half price on selected appetizers as well as $2.50 domestic select drafts. We got there about 10 after five and the bar quickly filled up, which seemed to be regulars, which was a good sign. We decided to linger a little bit over our first drinks and ordered deep fried cheese curds with a delicious margarita type tomato sauce. I had never had fried cheese curds and they were plentiful and came out steaming hot topped with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, unfortunately I did not take a picture as we were hungry and dove right in. When it was time for our second drink, I pondered over their wine list, but decided that with my Reuben and mac & cheese dinner a cold draft would suffice. My husband ordered the Philly cheesecake sandwich and onion rings. The mac & cheese and the onion rings were up charges of $2.50 and they were worth it. The cheesesteak sandwich was not shaved beef, but wonderfully thick pieces of beef on a perfectly toasted bun type with cheese and peppers. The onion rings were generous as well as crisp and not overly breaded. My Reuben was perfectly toasted on a delicious rye bread with just the right amount of sauce to not make it soggy. The star was their mac & cheese served in a steaming hot crock! It was creamy, not too cheesy, but cheesy enough to know that you were digging into a delicious bite of mac & cheese.. well done kitchen! All in all the meal was so large we could only eat half of it and brought it home for another day. We would certainly return as we enjoyed every bit of our evening. The patio looked invited and will be opening soon. They also have live entertainment to enjoy.

She came back pretty quickly and took our orders . The calamari was not a huge portion, but was beautifully crispy and seasoned nicely. The warm tomato sauce went nicely with the seasoning. Our server was excellent and checked in periodically to make sure everything was good. It was starting to get busy but she was efficiently keeping up with all the tables.
