Late Sunday morning while I was there a family who was a day after a reunion, some local some out of state, came for late breakfast. They called ahead. They got there any it did not matter. The manager was just plain nasty to them. Would not move tables to sit them together. Came over to the first table and told them to get on with ordering and not wait for the rest to be seated. When the out of towners visited the other tables they were told they were in the way. This woman went out of her way to make this visit miserable for them. Two members looked to be 85-90. No matter. I was embarrassed for Oneida and will never come back. After they were seated there was NO ONE ELSE that came in for 30min, and even then a party of 1 then 2. If I were them I would have gotten up and left to go elsewhere. That day, our food was good and service decent. But as an establishment they were NOT decent to people. I feel sorry for the staff and YOU KNOW there are not treated well by this women. read more

After being seated, waiting ten minutes and watching two other parties receive coffee and menus, I had to approach a waitress myself. She said they were very busy while walking away from me. Five minutes later, a different waitress gave us coffee and menus. A short time later, she rudely took our order. We were served our food 50 minutes later! No exaggeration! After eating, we put our credit card out with the receipt where it could be seen. Fifteen minutes later, the owner took our credit card, asking how much we wanted to tip. I said $5. She smiled and said okay. When we left, we were gaslighted by her bc she knew we werent happy. Very loud and pitchy, she declared, "Have a nice day! Happy holidays!" Daily breakfast specials which we both selected and enjoyed. Coffee was also good and filled often without asking. Fair price and the place was busy. This is definitely the place to come. The food was pretty decent, but our waitress Cat provided terrible service, the food was as good as you expected from your average breakfast place. my wife ordered the blueberry pancakes which she thought we're good and I ordered a veggie omelette, but I don't charge extra for cheese. mind you not extra cheese just cheese. ... besides that the hardest thing to swallow though was the waitresses attitude and attitude with an RBF that you could see a mile away. As far as being tentative. she didn't even come up to us and ask us if the meal was OK if it wasn't for the other helpers walking around I don't think I ever would've gotten a refill on coffee or water... what a shame read more

Passed through Vernon on our way home from Turning Stone. Apple Betty like every great diner had a really good breakfast sandwich on fresh bread. Hubby's special of Cinnamon Raisin French Toast was very good too. I highly recommend stopping here if you're driving through upstate NY. read more

Just a nice little quaint diner with the small town feel to it. Good homemade desserts. I saw the worker putting the icing on the cinnamon rolls but I opted for the apple betty pie with ice cream and whipped cream. It was ok. I also got the turkey sandwich with gravy and onion rings. We stopped in for breakfast and found the place to be just average. The personality of our waiters was outstanding and that extends to the other servers as well. The average opinion is for the time it took for our food to arrive after ordering (almost an hour) and for the omelettes themselves. The place was busy but not overly so, and that's why the wait time seemed excessive. read more

Cant say enough about this diner. The breakfasts are amazing, my grandkids eyes popped when they saw their waffles and pancakes topped with all sorts of goodies. I love their eggs over easy with home fries and crispy bacon. The lunches and dinners are just good plain delicious home cooking. This was my first time at apple Betty and I'm not impressed the workers had attitudes with customers and gave them dirty looks it took almost an hour for our food to come out and we only had a table of three and the food wasn't good the toast was burnt the chocolate pancakes tasted horrible and the sunny side up egg still had a lair of uncooked egg and the hash browns were wet and un seasoned so I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND read more

We love Apple Betty's and will go out of our way when visiting the area to stop in for breakfast. In fact I recommend anyone visiting Turning Stone Casino to stop in and enjoy a great home cooked breakfast. You will not be disappointed with the fresh ingredients and the accommodating staff. We had the pleasure of being served by Billie Jo and Rachel. These ladies are professional and friendly. They added to our wonderful experience. This is a charming little diner that offers delicious home style meals and has awesome hospitality. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and they were fantastic. If you look at the photo the pancakes looked like they were stuffed with blueberries. My husband said that all of the blueberries turned my tongue blue. The actual pancake was flavorful with a hint of vanilla. My husband ordered the french toast with sausage patties. The french toast was perfect. It was not soggy and was fried on the flat top griddle to a golden brown. The sausage patties was not your typical sausage patty. The seasoning was fantastic and popped with flavor. They complimented the sweetness of the french toast and was scrumptious. The owner...Westley Wendt Jr. is doing a great job providing a clean, reasonably priced diner with outstanding service to the community. I wish that we had this diner in Florida. read more

Drove by many times, but this was our first visit. We were looking for a old fashion diner for breakfast, but these seem to have mostly disappeared. We were on our way home and saw Apple Betty was open. Our waitress was nice, the place is pleasant and very clean, the food was good (we had eggs, home fries, and toast). The price, which included some fee I never saw before, was more than I expected and liked. We recommend AB's, but more as a treat than as a regular thing. To be honest we have not eaten out much since COVID, so the prices might be the norm. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE FOOD. This establishment was very busy when we arrived, but we were willing to wait. We sat at the counter to be seated more readily. Another couple was seated immediately after us. Even though they were extremely busy, there was a server behind the counter at all times who took forever to even offer us coffee. Then another waitperson passed behind the counter, took the second couple's order and ignored us. We finally got coffee from the server at the counter and sometime later they returned to take our order. We went through 3-4 coffee refills, and the other couple had already been served and left, and we still did not have our food. I spoke to a server just to make sure our order had gone in - yes it had. Then the counter server called back to the kitchen to check on our order and the kitchen replied, "it's just going on now." The server said, "What do you mean it's just going on now?" We are now 30-45 minutes into our wait. When our order did come out it was inedible. The greens omelet had cooked romaine(!) in it with no other noticeable flavors - enough said. The mushroom omelet tasted old. Both dishes had very odd tasting eggs. The home fries were very good, but we had lost our appetite and patience. When we told the manager about the omelet, she said, "No one has ever complained about our omelets before." (!) We ended up paying $33 for inedible food, a few bites of home fries, a couple bites of toast, and a wasted 1 1/2 hours. read more

For $20 a plate we had a buffet of overcooked ziti(dry with very little sauce), frozen meatballs/ sausage(plain in there own separate dish), steamed chicken(extremely dry & plain), canned potatoes & the cheapest bag salad money can buy. I started going out to apple Betty's every Friday for fish fry, until one day I saw someone with a piece of broiled fish with spinach and mozzarella cheese on it . So I started getting that one , then I saw they had broiled haddock with Asiago cheese on it and it was even better, well tonight I was the first one to sample the new broiled haddock with a cheese sauce consisting of cheddar and parmigiana cheese sauce with spinach and I have to say it was amazing the best yet , I love the waitresses read more

Decent diner food. Had breakfast here, and everything was fine. We ordered an egg/bacon and cheese sandwich, and a mushroom and cheese omlette. The sandwich had a generous portion of bacon, but it was only cooked to "chewy" which made the sandwich a challenge to eat. The omlette was pretty big, and included some very tasty homefries. However, the mushrooms tasted like they may have been from a can, and the cheese was simply a slice of american cheese torn in half and allowed to melt on the top of the omlette. The service was quick and pleasant, but then again we were sitting at the counter. Safe enough place to eat, but nothing to write home about. read more

We ate there a few days ago. The Chicken Parmesan was delicious, but I really didn't need two big pieces of chicken. The small side bowl of spaghetti was blah. The liquid had drained out of the sauce leaving a bland tomato purée that didn't stick to the pasta. The rolls were actually too hot to handle, and it was evident they were over-microwaved when they became tough to bite and chew. Went here for breakfast while staying at a Turning Stone. It's a diner-type place, bright, neat and clean, with good and friendly service. The menu offers a wide variety of options. Beware of bringing a group to Apple Betty. There were 9 at our table, 5 different families. We often dine together at various restaurants in the area. Not only does this restaurant refuse to split checks for tables of more than 4, they absolutely refuse to provide any assistance whatsoever to calculate the bill. We marked every item on the check, who was paying for what, and that wasn't enough. We had to add the items and calculate the tax, while the staff stood by twiddling her thumbs. I am truly sorry that I encouraged my friends to choose this restaurant today. Although the food was mostly OK and service at the table was reasonable, their stubborn adherence in the extreme to this customer-UNfriendly policy left a very bad taste in our mouths. read more

Stopped for lunch and it was a mistake. Wife had a bacon cheeseburger and it had to be a frozen patty that was grilled and hard to chew. I had a club sandwich which was just fair. We both had fries, they gave us a lot but less would have been fine because they weren't that good. The tea tasted more like water. There was an additional fee on the bill that I questioned and they told me was for two cups of coffee which we didn't,t have, whoops, our mistake.
