When my family entered the restaurant, we immediately like the rustic country decor. We were immediately greeted by a woman who confirmed our reservations and showed us to our table. The restaurant was quickly filling up and it took a few moments for a server to come to our table. After about 15-20 minutes it seemed like the staff got it going and food was coming out to tables and customers that ordered the Mother's Day brunch were getting their food quickly. My kids ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. One with game and one with sausage. My daughter is very picky with her pancakes and ate them all. I had the brunch. I had eggs Benedict, spinach omelette, ham and cheese omelette, bacon, fresh fruit, and two croissants. The food was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to stopping by again.

Inviting atmosphere, friendly service, and the perfect breakfast to kick off a Sunday morning. The food was delicious - scrambled eggs were fluffy and cooked to perfection, the bacon tasted super fresh, and the chai tea was so tasty. Can't wait to visit again and try other menu items, including sandwiches off their lunch menu. Definitely recommend this spot! I bet it does get really busy during the summer months when people are visiting Sylvan Beach and Verona Beach.

We were placed in the back room with a large table and within 20 minutes the waitress asked if we would like to move tables to the front room because they were a bit loud and she accommodated my request for a round table. Wonderful appetizer of scallops with the best 12 year aged cheddar cream sauce I've ever had. Hen mushrooms and some relish. Then (not pictured) was the dungeonness crab corn chowder which they politely split into two bowls for us. Entrees I had the filet with adobo shrimp and they did it rare +. Bf had the aged ribeye with cippolini and we shared the pomme purée. Split a bottle of rouge medoc. Everything was wonderfully cooked. It was a steep bill but to be expected. They offer you as well amuse bouche to start and a wonderful lemon bar to go. Great great time!

My husband and I wanted to get breakfast in town before heading back to the Poconos! Looking for suggestions online we chose The Corner Diner Too as the feedback regarding service and reviews was very positive! Owner and staff take a lot of pride in their business! Make everyone feel welcome and have a great sense of humor! If you're visiting the Verona or surrounding area would highly recommend! The ceiling tiles were out of place and each wall was a different color. No one greeted us at the door for a few minutes. Once finally sat, the lady asked us the general questions. There was no " hi how are you ". She seemed like she just hated everything about her job. Once we got our order taken, we were able to give a look around. Floors were disgusting and tables sticky. The food was undercooked and had no taste whatsoever. The music blasting from the kitchen was very distracting. I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt since it was a mom and pop location...we will not be back.

So while its not fine dining or the…read moreideal atmosphere (with its funny 80's plastic table covers ), Uncle J's is a wonderful representation of the small village it resides in. I enjoyed the flatbread pizza, largely due to the flatbread itself. I have noticed a large void of good pizza crust in this area and surrounding villages, so this scratched that itch. The fried pickles were bar food at its best. A crisp, spear, rendition instead of the flimsy pickle chips found in many diners. They make their own dressings and the blue cheese dressing alone will bring me back. The fries were also good, but the margaritas could use some work. The mix tastes like gatorade, so still drinkable, but if the homemade nuance from that crave-worthy blue cheese dressing could be applied, it would be a lovely elevation and bring me back more than my budget should allow. The music on Thursday at their first strings and wings was F*#$ing fantastic!! I did not catch the performers name, but folks, come with cash for tips because this artist brought his A game. Multi-genre, great guitar skills, and a fabulous voice. We sat in the dining because the bar area is a bit small for eating, but we could hear him perfectly and it made the night. This event with the crowd spread them thin and tested the kitchen, but besides a "relaxed" pace of the food coming out, there was no impact to service and everyone was lovely. We must support these local gems if we want them in our backyard. So while I will be a thorn in their side trying to push for an upgraded cocktail experience, I will also be a devout local advocating for my community to be the same. Well done Uncle J's!

Just a few barflies sitting in the front room, so we went into the dining room which was empty. Our server/bartender was very attentive and great. Guinness was properly poured too. We ordered the steak tips main and the chicken riggies main. Each came with a salad and a small loaf of bread for the whole table to share. Salads were fresh and crunchy. Bread was fresh and soft. Portions were massive and the riggies were a bit hit. The steak was overdone, but ok. The gravy on top however was an odd color and texture without much flavor other than a slight sour tang. The dish would have been better served without the gravy. In any case, we were too full for dessert.

Food was insanely quick, i would go so far as saying fastest prime rib ive ever gotten. Mac Salad had tuna in it (not a complaint in fact i liked it more but not everyone will like that so just a heads up). Mashed and gravy was really good. Whipped and the beef gravy was so savory. The prime rib came with au jus on the side but itself was not very flavorful, the gravy and au jus helped. The service was pleasant but decently spaced out time wise for drink refills. Overall really good and would go back to try other things. $50 for 2 meals, tax, and tip. Not bad.

We should have known by the outside appearance/condition of the building that we were making a BIG mistake. The exterior is in different states of damage and disrepair, the door at the entrance with the handicap ramp only opens 2/3rds of the way, then it gets stuck on the handicap ramp. Once inside, the decor hasn't been updated since 1955 by the looks of things, especially the FILTHY and disgusting carpeting that was ripped and dirty. The bathroom floor was uneven, and stuck to your shoes. The menu is a couple of sheets of paper, with a row of staples down their edge, to hold it together. The food was sub-par, especially the french fries that were grossly under cooked. We sent the first batch of them back, and the waiter brought us a fresh batch that wasn't much better than the first ones. He said they couldn't cook them any more or they would "burn"...They were still under cooked on the inside. I had a "crispy chicken sandwich ($11.99), that was like a frozen patty. If you wanted ANY toppings, like pickles, lettuce, tomato, EACH item cost an extra .75, and there's NO sauce or ANY type of condiment that comes on or with the sandwich. Our daughter ordered the "Sampler platter", which consisted of onion rings, two small chicken tenders (first bite was nasty, couldn'teat that "tender"), and a couple mozzarella sticks. That plate came with a small dish of marinara sauce, and a small plastic cup of an unidentifiable orange colored sauce. My wife had a basic hamburger. The girls drank water, I ordered a root beer. Even the soda was tasteless when it arrived! The bill came to $54.32, before the tip. Definitely would NOT go back there when we're in that area again.
