    Country fried steak breakfast
    Eric A.

I don't know what has happened here but they have gone downhill over the past several months. I know they have new cooks in the kitchen but the food has not gotten better. Today's visit was no exception. I ordered chicken fried steak with wavy fries and fried zucchini. The french fries and the zucchini look good and normal. Even the chicken fried steak looked good. Granted, anyone could drop chicken fried steak and french fries in a fryer and it turned out good. The kicker is the gravy. The gravy will make it or break it. In this case it broke it. As you can see in the photos, this is not what anyone I know would call gravy. White flour water. Very runny. Just a tad thicker than water. So I tasted it just to see if it did taste good, and I would eat it anyway. It was over powering with flour. Seriously. Just warm flour water. This, now makes the third time I've left hungry and not very happy. I'm sorry Denny's but I don't think I'll be returning after this

Food was insanely quick, i would go so far as saying fastest prime rib ive ever gotten. Mac Salad had tuna in it (not a complaint in fact i liked it more but not everyone will like that so just a heads up). Mashed and gravy was really good. Whipped and the beef gravy was so savory. The prime rib came with au jus on the side but itself was not very flavorful, the gravy and au jus helped. The service was pleasant but decently spaced out time wise for drink refills. Overall really good and would go back to try other things. $50 for 2 meals, tax, and tip. Not bad.

My husband and I wanted to get breakfast in town before heading back to the Poconos! Looking for suggestions online we chose The Corner Diner Too as the feedback regarding service and reviews was very positive! A small and cozy environment as we were greeted by locals and management upon entering the restaurant. My husband and I both ordered omelets that were fantastic! Owner and staff take a lot of pride in their business! Make everyone feel welcome and have a great sense of humor! If you're visiting the Verona or surrounding area would highly recommend! Food and service was great! Refreshing too see a properly ran restaurant and a friendly and organized team!! Will definitely be back in the future!!

The ceiling tiles were out of place and each wall was a different color. No one greeted us at the door for a few minutes. Once finally sat, the lady asked us the general questions. There was no " hi how are you ". She seemed like she just hated everything about her job. Once we got our order taken, we were able to give a look around. Floors were disgusting and tables sticky. The food was undercooked and had no taste whatsoever. The music blasting from the kitchen was very distracting. I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt since it was a mom and pop location...we will not be back.

After a Primavera Margarita and a Strawberry Basil Moscow Mule - both delicious - we moved on to a familiar bellwether, the French Onion Gratinée. Perfectly constructed and delightfully flavorful, we were off to an auspicious start. Our entrees were splendid! His salmon had a perfectly finished crisp and my lobster & shrimp pappardelle had a delectable sauce with copious seafood. Topping off the flavorful feast was peanut butter pie which was light and lovely. We were seated at the same table as last night (still cozy) and well-attended by Kari who knew who we were and chatted companionably with us. Dennis once again stopped by (despite serving a different section) to check in. Our experience with everyone from the front desk to the dining room to the manager was nothing shy of awesome! We look forward to returning and will make a point to do so!

Breakfast itself was very basic diner fare -- eggs, toast, and the usual staples. Nothing fancy, but it was inexpensive and filled the plate. The atmosphere gave me strong old truck-stop diner vibes. Some people may appreciate that nostalgic roadside feel, but for me the restaurant felt a bit dirty and very worn down, like it hasn't had much maintenance or updating in quite a long time. One of the people dining with me ordered a lunch special of beef and mashed potatoes, and unfortunately it was extremely greasy and didn't seem freshly made. It was bad enough that they couldn't finish it. Another downside for me was that the diner is cash-only. We rarely carry cash, so we had to use the ATM, which added extra cost to the visit. Overall, Flo's is definitely a very old-school diner experience -- cheap food, tiny coffee prices, and a truck-stop style atmosphere. I'm sure that works perfectly for some people looking for a quick, inexpensive meal, but it just wasn't the right fit for me.
