Good wifi (both WPA3 and 2G networks) & great coffee! Stopped here while visiting the area to work in-between meetings; it's the best coffee shop to do that in downtown Syracuse. They've got some basic breakfast items, service was fast, and the ambiance is casual with little nooks for 1-2 people parties to hang out. read more

Cafe Kubal - Cappuccino to go - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Syracuse, New York

The baristas are the absolute best! They were super patient and helpful with answering my questions. They let me have a taste of their Ethiopian light roast - which was delicious! Very light with subtle notes of fruit! I was in a fall mood and wanted to try something off of their fall menu but sadly they were out of cider; so instead, they offered to make a peach matcha for me. It was smooth and lightly fruity! Great experience and would definitely come back! read more

Today we were looking for a cup of cappuccino and a cup of brewed coffee. I have to tell you we ordered both cups and they were DELICIOUS! Well worth the visit. The cafe was very laid back with a relaxing atmosphere. The servers were very accommodating and made us feel like valued customers. I highly recommend this establishment for delicious coffees and a little snack. We also had a piece of chocolate chip banana bread which was moist and tasty! read more

Actually haven't been here in so long and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Christopher hot (vanilla, brown sugar latte) and absolutely loved it. If you order for here, they put it in a cute ceramic mug! It was super foamy and the flavor was wonderful. I also tried their classic breakfast sandwich for the first time and really enjoyed it... how can you not when it's on soft pastabilities stretch bread and has a chipotle mayo. Highly recommend!! read more

Cafe Kubal - Order receipt for 5:45 pickup - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Syracuse, New York

Nice coffee shop near Syracuse University. Coffee, cappuccino and tea as well as the snacks were very good. Cute vibe.

I love a coffee shop that makes their own syrups. Great service and a beautiful case of baked goods. Freshly made in house. We shared some delicious scones and took some cookies home for the family. I love the inside of this vintage building with tin ceilings and old chandeliers. My Matcha and mint latte was so nice.....such a great combination of flavors. read more

Way understaffed. Glad I got in before the others. Friendly but that's about it. Coffee is mediocre , food ? Uhhh. Not great. Ordered the breakfast wrap. Wrap is synonymous with hand held. What I got was a large cut open crisped pastry wrap filled with powdered eggs and near raw bacon smothered in cheese. Not edible. And plastic utensils could even cut through it. read more

This coffee shop provides a decent amount of offering for coffee and quick breakfast bites in the morning. I ordered an oat milk latte which tasted too sweet for what I am used to drinking with this type of milk. Would I come here again? Maybe. The place has seating options and could be a place to meet for informational meetings for networking, zero dates and quick business meetings. The service provided by the barista was good and quick. read more

We came here after a breakfast place we wanted to try was closed. The atmosphere is very relaxing. They have a good amount of seating space and they do offer food but they only had cookies and baked goods when we were there. I ordered a caramel Latte and it came out SO fast! It was also the best latte I have had! So good! The people who waited on us were nice and greeted us when we walked in. I would love to come back and try some food! I highly recommend coming here for coffee though! read more

Looks like a very typical little downtown cafe. Staff was friendly. I wasn't expecting the food to be anything to review but we had the blt bagel and I'm not sure what they put on it but it was delicious! The breakfast wrap was good too. I'd go back for that bagel. read more

Great coffee and great sandwiches! They offer substitutions when something in your sandwich isn't available. Staff is great and friendly, it's a small space, but definitely room to sit and do work or chat with a friend! Love this coffee shop! read more

Neat little coffee shop in Syracuse. Popped in on a business trip. Not a lot of options in this area for breakfast, so it was worth a shot. Server did a great job setting me up with an Ethiopian pour over that was delicious. Got the egg sandwich, which regrettably had microwaved eggs similar to what you might get at McD's, but did have a nice spicy mayo on it that made it stand out. read more

Would definitely recommend: got a hazelnut latte as well as the vegan wrap, and both of them exceeded my expectations in flavor and just a fresh delicious taste The location is great and the facility has a very unique and nice vibe just to hang out and enjoy. read more

Stopped in one morning for a quick breakfast with my husband. He had two breakfast sandwiches and a coffee while I just had a piece of banana chocolate bread. We all enjoyed our food although my husband described his sandwiches as nothing special. The stop was more about convenience. The employees provided good service. read more

Literally the worst coffee I've ever had. I ordered an iced caramel latte and got a watered down iced coffee with no caramel flavor. Barista didn't put a lid on the drink and then got offended when I asked for one. Not to mention it took 10 mins to get my coffee, and I didn't have time to wait for another one. read more

Really cute cafe downtown, perfect for studying, a coffee date, or grab and go. Staff are very friendly. Tried their upstate grinder panini and iced coffee, a dining week special. The panini was good, but would've been great if there was more maple mayo. Everything was fresh. The bread was delicious. The coffee wasn't as dark of a roast as I was hoping and a bit watered down by the ice. I'de be willing to come back and try something else on their menu. read more

I love Cafe Kubal and this is my favorite location (RIP Marshall Street Kubal). This specific location has big windows and lots of tables and booths for doing work at (unsure what procedures are for Covid because the photo was from almost two years ago). My favorite things from Kubal are their iced mochas and their bagels with flavored cream cheeses. Somewhat expensive but good quality! There are a few locations and all are excellent. Overall, one of my favorite local coffee shops in Syracuse (and there are a lot of good ones!) and I miss having one conveniently on Marshall street! read more

Fast and friendly service. Beautiful old building with this coffee house right on a downtown corner and near busstop. Coffee is delicious and oatmeal had just the right amount of syrup . Chai seeds and walnuts a sweet bonus. Simple yet good. Theory reason for a 4 not 5 is cost. A bit pricey for a cup of oatmeal and Java. Definitely will return for coffee. read more

Such a pretty building, decent parking, the staff is always nice, and the drinks are always yummy.

I took people to this Cafe Kubal on March 1 and March 7, including people who were new to Syracuse. I selected this location because it helped us have a conversation about life in downtown Syracuse. This is a great location. Sadly, the service was just okay. In both instances, the service was slow. We ordered drinks and breakfast. It seems like the location is staffed at 8:30 a.m. so that they can do one or the other, but not both. On March 7, our food order was mixed up a bit and two of the people in my party received their drinks after we had received our food. I like the food and coffee, as well as the ambiance of this location. I think, though, its needs better staffing. I can understand that management likely doesn't want to fully staff for the 8:30 rush (yes, there was a line) and then have too many people on hand for the mid-morning slow-down (this is my guess), but you are doing those who come early for coffee and breakfast a disservice, including people who may be deciding whether to invest in Syracuse. read more

Absolutely amazing... It was open clean visually enjoyable to look around while I waited... And the staff could not have been more hospitable I got a simple coffee with homemade almond milk... Yes homemade almond milk... How amazing They ground the fresh roasted beans for me there since I'm staying in a hotel up the street and don't have a grinder myself... And I got a bagel BLT with their own twist with pico de gallo... Absolutely amazing the bacon was probably some of the best bacon I've ever had And I'm in New York City girl... The inside is cute. But the pictures online are deceiving. There's not a lot of seating at all. The music was very loud. Definitely not a good study spot. The chairs outside are super uncomfortable. The coffee was good. Their food prices are definitely affordable but we didn't try any. The staff was pleasant. Overall though the vibe was off. Syracuse 2021...its half cheap vodka in a paper bag depressing (a lot of dingy vacant buildings) ...yet there is a lot of apartment development amidst the shuttered storefronts (probably to cater to the Long Island brats whose parents are funding their 4 year camp at SU...). Amidst this is Cafe Kubal....which is a fine local coffee shop. I've been to the James St. locale a few years ago, and this one is a little more charming (James St. as an Avenue is generally a basket case outside of a great bookstore and the James St. theatre..). Iced coffee is 3.50...a little high but good beans and their almond scones are quite good too. Easy hike from the Marriott in Armory Square...which at night can be a delightful boozy magnet. read more

This cafe is excellent. Everyone is friendly and the service is great, With one exception. The tall girl with a tattoo on her neck, large hoop earrings, is absolutely horrendous. Great quality food, modern recipes. Good service, lets you get receipt via email (love that/good for the environment). I had a vanilla latte that was delicious. I also had the "Benedict" (Whole Wheat Toast, poached egg, guacamole, cheddar, maple mayo and bacon- also delicious although the egg might have been a little overcooked. I later had an "Almond Joy Power Truffle" that was delicious as well.
