    Tuscan flatbread

Loved the atmosphere at Pausa! We went for a Thursday night happy hour and CNY Jazz cabaret, which was great. It is a perfect intimate setting for the cabaret. Our server was attentive and the cocktails were excellent. I especially liked the signature Still & Stirred, described as a floral gin mule. We tried the Tuscan flatbread, also excellent; very fresh with a crispy crust. Can't wait to come back for coffee and lunch.

Such a lovely time at Pausa! I have previously come in before my visit today for a wine & chocolate pairing, which was so much fun and Laura really nailed the experience! Today I came in for an espresso and sweet treat and it was great! Friendly staff greeting me when I came in, and also when ordering my macchiato, taking the time to kindly confirm that I wanted/knew that their macchiato is traditional to an Italian one (espresso with a pop of steamed milk). And with Biscottis treats it made for a great trip. Absolutely gorgeous spot to sit, enjoy, and take a "Pausa" to enjoy yourself. Can't wait to come back for their "better late than never" event!

Went for both a coffee date & early drinks and appetizers. For the evening, it was cozy, romantic and the server was attentive. The drinks were made well and tasty, when we went they had a special drink with written love letters! As for the AM, again was cozy & the latte was warm and sweet. Although we have lots of cafes around cuse, I appreciate the vibes here & its transformation from day time coffee to night time cocktails!

I dropped by the cafe this morning. The ambiance is a home run. It's really sleek and stylish inside -- almost giving me library or academic vibes. Dark blue paint, gold accents, exposed brick, artwork on the walls. The bathrooms were clean and styled and had the best smelling soap -- which seems like a weird thing to point out perhaps but it's the little details that show a lot of thought went into the design. I arrived a little after 8 on a Sunday, shortly after they opened. The first hour was sparse, with people coming in now and then to pick up to go. Around 9/9:30 it started to get buzzy, with people filling up the tables & stools (of which there are many) and getting chatty. It was a pleasant hum. I went for an americano, which was served to me in a nice big mug. The coffee was robust and pulled well. I was able to linger for a good while and not feel rushed. There was a good crowd and good energy in here. They're just opening so there were a couple of hiccups that I'm sure will be smoothed out as they get more comfortable. I was able to find a table near an outlet but it was a little tricky to locate one initially, so this may not be the best bet for laptop work when they're popping. Parking was easy to find on a Sunday morning, and my experience is that area there's usually spots within a block or two most times anyway. Coffee price was fairly standard -- everything is pricey anymore lol but I found their prices on par with other cafes. Even cooler, they turn into a bar Friday and Saturday night and serve limoncello and other European inspired spirits. I popped in just to try the new cafe, but it was so pleasant I'll for sure be back. It's so wonderful to see new businesses like this move into downtown and I wish them the best of luck!

I love spontaneously stumbling across new coffee shop. The line was out the door so I think an additional like inside would definitely help as it took 30 minutes to order but it was well worth it! I ordered a pistachio latte and it really hit the spot. It was warm and cozy and I opted for less pistachio syrup and it was just perfect. They also have pup cups for your furry friends! The inside is really cute - dark and rustic. The woman at the counter said they recently opened so I hope they can fine tune some things as I see a lot of great potential here.

I've been hearing alot of really good things about this new coffee shop that opened downtown and I was excited to check it out for myself. I came in on a Saturday morning and the place was full! I was not expecting it to be so busy but the staff were all very friendly and not a long wait even with the crowd. The inside is cozy and super cute decorated with Christmas decor. There were tables filled with groups laughing and having fun while others were set up on their laptop getting some work done, I enjoyed people watching. Our table had a deck of cards on it which is also a fun idea and nice to keep out for anyone to use. I ordered the Butternut Sage latte and got it iced and unfortunately it tasted like a cigarette. I'm not sure if that's what sage is supposed to taste like but there was no hint of butterscotch and I made no adjustments I just had it as is off the menu. I will have to try their other coffees and hope they're better but it's pretty expensive. I took a few sips and had to throw it away. A bit disappointing for a $10 latte.

    Lavender Letters + gin

Went for an evening cocktail with a friend and had a good time. Service was nice and convenient. My friend ordered the espresso martini with the "white chocolate creamy" option, but she didn't like it much. I tasted it too and it was more liquor than espresso, not the best. I got the Lavender Letters mocktail and added gin to make it a cocktail, it was good and refreshing.

Beautiful, elevated coffee shop across from Water Street Bagels. This would be a great space to work or meet friends for a drink! In the evening, the space becomes a wine bar with small plates. We will definitely be back for their evening menu!

Directly across the street from Water Street Bagel Co. My brother mentioned this place to me and I'm glad I checked it out. So cozy and mindfully decorated. There is a sitting area in the back decorated for the holidays. Each table at the restaurant has a deck of cards if that suits your fancy. There is also a chess board available for play. There is bar seating available. It is dimly lit but light enough to read or do some work. I opted for the Peppermint hot chocolate and chocolate croissant(which was warmed). I usually ask for oat or almond mik but to be offered pistachio milk was a tasty surprise. Top tier! There is also an area up front where they sell some jewelry and store specific items. Alcohol is served and is included in the dinner menu. They offer wine and chocolate tastings on certain days through Eventbrite. I also see they are offering a NYE party this year. How relaxing and fun! I plan to revisit soon!

The coffee was roasted to perfection and I enjoyed a regular cup of joe with steamed cream. The atmosphere was warm. There were areas to work and converse. The lights created a moody ambiance. At the front of the cafe there is an area to sit on the couches and there is bright light in that area. The barista and staff were all so friendly and mostly SU college students. I would totally come back. I do suggest the owner works on expanding the menu and adds pastries and gluten free options for ppl like me that cannot eat gluten.

I found myself with some work to do on a Saturday morning and decided to swing by. There's on street parking on the block it's on and surrounding blocks. There's also an abandoned store across the street with a small lot, which is where I wound up parking. The space is small but I didn't have any trouble finding a seat, though I imagine that might be a different case later in the day or during peak study time for the students. I got an ube iced coffee special with oat milk, and impulsively ordered the breakfast burrito too. I figured if they have shirts advertising the burrito, it must be good. The decor is very trendy and chic and well-curated, and you'll feel super hip hanging out here. The coffee was alright but my shot was a bit on the bitter side - assuming this was just a one-off. The breakfast burrito lived up to the hype. Fluffy eggs, perfectly crispy pressed tortilla, a flavorful aioli generously slathered all over the plate. Definitely one of the places to come (if not THE place) in Syracuse if you want a breakfast burrito. Unfortunately for me, the WiFi was down when I went, so I couldn't actually do my work and didn't stay long. Womp womp. Perhaps unavoidable, but definitely not ideal for a coffee shop. I wish I'd brought a book with me that day or had more time just to spend, because I'd say this spot is great for silent reading and unplugging more than working or socializing. Worth checking out, for the aesthetics and the tasty egg burritos.

There is always a pleasant vibe to it and often there are people chatting or working on laptops. Employees are always really nice. I really enjoy the Pandan Matcha. Its so hard to find pandan drinks in the area! I find the drinks are often really sweet and so its important to order them with no sugar or less sugar. The boba is okay although the straws they have been using lately are too small for them so they lose some of the shape and correct texture. A random thing I love about their drinks are they used a crushed ice, it makes it feel appropriately portioned to the drink itself. Although I am not a coffee person, the cafe lattes are my partner's favorite in the area and they are highly customizable. It's also nice that they offer a carrier when you have a few drinks to-go. Interestingly, the cake and desserts are the weaker part for me for Cake Bar. They are often pretty dry for my tastes. My favorite has been the potato chip cookies, but I have only seen them a few times. The chicken wing dip buns are pretty good and filling though and are worth trying! Overall its a great stop and a nice place to bring friends when they stop by or to hang out whilst doing some work.
