I might be biased because I adore the owner, but Skanaeatlas has been made better with this new spot. An unassuming place that's been beautifully designed inside with a gorgeous view of the lake. The ice cream & coffee are of course delicious and homemade! If you haven't been yet, what're you doing? Head on over in the AM for a coffee or in the PM for a sweet treat -- or both!

The perfect latte or cappuccino with a lake view! Exactly what skaneateles needed. House made ice cream is delicious, and there are yummy bagels to go with your coffee. It's the perfect little spot for a nice meeting.

Their icecream is homemade and they have the best spot to enjoy coffee and enjoy food.

New Year, new coffee house! Located in the heart of Skaneatles this establishment offers great promise. Smoothe, suttle music in the background and modern decor fill the mid sized room. The service is quick. The written menu only offers tea selections at this time but espresso options are verbally offered. The food menu only offers bagels at this time but they do offer ice cream. Seating ranges from bar top to four tables to couch seating which overlooks Skaneateles lake. There are also benches along the entrance hallway is you wish to watch the passerby sidewalk traffic. This offers a good alternative to notoriously busier bakeries. A quaint startup that i plan to revisit!

Homemade Ice Cream. Home. Made. Ice cream. I stopped in the Cream and Coffee for a scoop with my daughter on Mother's Day and even with a line out the door, the owner was charming and warm. Please stop by Cream and Coffee next you're in Skaneateles. The view off the back windows were worth the wait.

This place has great vibes, a great atmosphere, and can't beat the beautiful view of the lake! The service was fast. However, I wish their menu was available online to view and I wish there were prices included on the menu in the cafe. I ordered the cookie butter latte and it was delicious. I could have sat here all day.

Doug's is a happenning place, for sure. We read the menu before entering and then I decided to go in. My wife wanted to eat somewhere else, so I ventured in alone. It is a classic New England food stop...for sure. Doug at the register and running the show! I ordered and then waited for the food to go. I got chicken tender plate. I wanted to stay away from seafood since we were far away from the ocean in upstate NY. They were advertising fried clams and scallops and I am sure they were fresh and tasty, I just couldn't get past the distance. The dining room was a busy place with customers eating their orders. I was shown the condiment area for ketchup, tartar and forks/knifes. My order was ready within time and I left to meet up with my wife. We ate in the Gazebo facing the lake....Wow, was it scenic...absolutely gorgeous! It's pretty cool, then, to see new little spots like Daisy's popping up right after the new bike and pedestrian trail built over the old trolley line opened. Coincidence? Maybe! But if you're passing through rural Rensselaer county on your bike and feeling a little peckish, then Daisy's is an excellent new breakfast and lunch option just a short distance off the trail. Daisy's is brand new, so there are still kinks to work out -- our lovely waitress was struggling with her fancy electronic ordering machine, and there was a lot of confused running around in the kitchen. The food, though, was absolutely solid. My mom was a bit skeptical about the price of her BLT before she ordered, but took it back once she received her gigantic sandwich made with perfectly fresh ingredients and served with a mound of some of the tastiest Mac salad that either of us had ever had (plus a bag of chips!). My cup of the soup of the day was hot and flavorful (if slightly over over salted). The weakest link in the whole meal was the oddly soft hard roll for my breakfast sandwich: I'd ask for it toasted next time. Daisy's also serves local Tierra Farms coffee, which is a nice touch, and there were some really nice-looking treats in the pastry case. Overall this is a super cute little place that does a pretty good job of hitting the sweet spot between an old-fashioned small-town diner and a more modern cafe (with plans to add more vegetarian/vegan options to the menu). I'll absolutely come back, and I hope that places like this continue to open up and thrive in small communities around the region.
