We loved everything about walking into this place, but that's where it ended. We ordered croissants and someone not working the register went and grabbed the croissants we ordered for another customer who was on the phone. Rather than telling the person handling the phone order that the croissants were already ordered, the cashier just apologetically smiled. It's our first time here (we told the cashier that) and she tried to offer other options, but we weren't looking for cake first thing in the morning. What's weird is that the person handling the phone order was making drinks before and after so I'm not sure if this was an order for a friend or a legitimate customer. The whole thing was disappointing and soured our opinion and experience. Seven employees were working and it still took over 10 mins to get two lattes. When served, our drinks were not hot because the espresso shots had been sitting on the counter cooling off while the milk was steamed and the flavoring added. The interstellar had good flavor but was kid's temp by the time I got it. The honey saffron didn't taste like anything and was slightly warmer, but fell flat flavorwise. Overall, the experience didn't feel particularly high end as the prices would reflect, nor efficient. I'm not sure if I would return. read more

Have been to this coffee house a couple times now, and enjoy it each time. Service is friendly, the ambience is clean & inviting, and the pastries are DELICIOUS. As someone who can't get enough pistachio? These baked goods are *chef's kiss*. My only complaint about this place is honestly that it can take a bit of time to get your order. Back for a second round! I have to say that one of my favorite things about this place is that they brew their drinks to order. No premade drinks that have been sitting around all day, No loads of sugar that are forced on you. I order the Saudi coffee which was perfect and a festival cake which was heavenly. This coffee house is absolutely stunning! From the moment I entered I was in awe of the beautiful aesthetics that reflects the owners culture, simply beautiful! Overall, a nice additional to Syracuse! I rank coffee shops based, in part, on if they make their syrups or not. Zaman uses Monin, so minus a star there. It was really busy but I didn't feel I waited too long for my drink. There is a reward system that seems easy enough to accrue points. It's nice to still see some places rewarding loyalty. read more

Returned to try new items! I got their berry matcha, which was good but I, personally, prefer their traditional coffees. Last time I went, they had sold out of their baklava, so I thought I'd try again. This time, I came early enough to try their baklava. There were two different types to choose from - walnut filling and pistachio filling; I got the pistachio filling. Love this place! A unique place to grab a treat in Syracuse. They have several types of coffee, American and Jordanian. I've tried both types of Chai and a pistachio matcha. Chai is more authentic and less sweet than what many Americans are use to but has a great depth of flavor and so comforting. Pistachio matcha was great, nutty, just a bit sweet, with matcha coming through. I sampled a variety of pastries, all were delicious but the Dubai cheesecake remains my favorite. Decent amount of parking for the coffee house and Walgreens next door and lots of seating inside, all low tops. Inside is cozy and so clean. read more

It was delicious, though the coffee flavor was quite strong before stirring. Unfortunately, they were out of baklava, which seems to be a popular dessert there. This used to be a Kubal coffee shop and they did a great job transforming the inside with improved seating, signage, and gold themed Arabic-inspired decor. I really liked the ambiance. I don't like super decadent and creamy coffees so I don't see myself coming here for a daily drink, but they offer many different styles of coffee. I'll be coming back to try the unique offerings over time, or when I want a sweet treat. You can customize drinks based on sweetness and milk preference. They also offer pastries and cakes, we got the baklava. This is a newly opened shop so drink prep was slow and there was some confusion at the pickup counter as drinks were being given out. I was super excited to try out a new coffee shop and Zaman was great! They definitely had a long line and full seating area for a reason. The interior is beautiful too, well designed, nice seating, comfortable which is all appreciated. I got the iced pistachio latte with oat milk and i've never drank a coffee so fast in my life - it was SO good! The wait was not good and the employees were definitely working super hard. I also have a sesame allergy (which I know is popular among middle eastern dishes) and really appreciate when the employees know the answer to allergy items very quickly, which they did. They also have multiple bowls of small chocolates on the counter that are up for grabs which I think is very generous. My boyfriend and I each tried one and I really enjoyed both. They were both dark chocolate, one with nuts inside and another with a rich dark chocolate mousse inside. I can't wait to go here more often and try more items on their menu! Their pastries also looked delicious so I will have to go a bit hungry next time to give those a try. This is a great new addition to Syracuse! read more

Finally made it to Zaman Coffee House and it lived up to the hype. The staff is very helpful and friendly, explaining menu items and offering suggestions. It is fairly small and cozy and has beautiful decor. We loved the hot pistachio latte with chocolate drizzle and the iced Nutella lattes. Both were ready quickly and had great flavors. They have some of the best baked goods I've ever had. Not too sweet, great flavors. The majority of the time drinks are made quickly and the line moves fast. Incredibly cute little place with stylish decor. I have enjoyed anything and everything Dubai chocolate flavored--cheesecake, matcha, mousse. They have traditional drinks such as teas and coffee. I will say the place is nearly always packed, and can be a hard place to find a seat and sit in. When I have had a bigger party we have waited off to the side for awhile until something was available. Saw a tik tok on this and had to try. The vimto mojito (non alcoholic) is a sprite mixed berry type drink that's amazingly refreshing. Absolutely loved it here; this location has been open for a few weeks and is amazing. We stopped here to check out this coffee spot and try some of their drinks. I'm so glad we came here. They have an assortment of fresh drinks and desserts. There is lots of seating available inside; they also have an outdoor patio. This is Zaman's first location, and hopefully they'll open more! I had a Matcha Mango latte which was excellent, they are using very good quality products. I brought home two pastries because I couldn't decide on one. 3911 Brewerton Road on Route 11 was a Starbucks, then a Tim Horton's, and most recently a Café Kubal. When it closed several months ago, Anas Almaletti and his brothers thought it would be the perfect spot for a Middle Eastern coffee café, which they have called Zaman Coffee House. Zaman means Time or Time Long gone in Arabic, and they offer Arabica coffee, Adani and Moroccan tea, and traditional Middle Eastern pastries and desserts. The coffee beans will come from Yemen. I enjoy a sweet, flavored iced coffee every now and then, and I was initially disappointed when Café Kubal closed at this location. I prefer to support local roasters over larger commercial chains, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn that a family-owned business would be moving in--and even more intrigued by the opportunity to try coffee rooted in a different culture. At the moment, Zaman is still in its soft-opening phase, so hours are slightly limited as they work out the details. I stopped in around 1:30 p.m. on a weekday. The café was already fairly busy, but the line moved quickly, and the gentleman who took my order was warm and welcoming. Since Dubai chocolate seems to be a popular trend right now, I ordered a Dubai iced latte and picked up two slices of Dubai cake to share later with my wife. The drinks did take a little time to come out, but given the steady crowd and from watching them prepare all the drinks, they clearly take a more careful approach to preparing their offerings than other places. The latte was excellent--rich, flavorful, and a pleasant surprise in its preparation. Not only was it infused with Dubai chocolate flavor, but it also included crushed chocolate pieces that added great texture and an extra layer of indulgence. The cake was equally impressive: moist, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the coffee. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. For two slices of cake and a 16 oz specialty coffee, the total came to $28. While a bit on the higher side, it's comparable to current prices at many coffee shops. Given the quality, hospitality, and unique offerings, I'm looking forward to returning and trying more from their menu, which extends beyond just coffee - there's definitely several teas and "refreshers" that sound amazing. I'd recommend giving them a try. read more

I found this place by chance while driving from Chicago. I was looking for a coffee shop on Yelp and wanted to avoid the usual chains. Since I saw that this place was new and wasn't sure if they were open, I decided to take a chance and drive over. It turns out they were still training staff, but they kindly let me in to enjoy a Turkish coffee inside. The vibe here is great--clean, welcoming, and friendly staff. My Turkish coffee was strong and delicious, just how I like it. I also noticed the pastries, which looked amazing--though I'm on a diet, I definitely recommend giving them a try if you're here!
