    Biscoff cake

My rating is specifically for my birthday cake but I really have never had anything I didn't like from this place. My boyfriend surprised me with a Biscoff flavored cake from here. He said the staff was very accommodating for him and suggested this flavor, as the one he originally wanted is not made anymore. I have never had this cake flavor but wow was it great!! The cake was well-sized, beautifully decorated, and absolutely delicious. Even the buttercream had flavor versus just being straight sugar-tasting. I really recommend this place for a birthday cake!! I'd love to try their other flavors. Cannot comment on the price since it was a surprise.

I loved this spot ever since its humble beginnings in Salt City Market. It grew into so much more with a cute brick and mortar cafe. I always have friendly service and drinks are made to order. They have a few cases full of treats and now even offer savory options as well. I've even seen gluten free options, such as ube cheesecake. They switch up the menu seasonally and have some great offerings. I'm partial to the jasmine iced tea with mango boba. I even had a boba cake from here once and it was the most divine thing ever.

Some of the best macarons I've had! The earl grey flavored one was spot on and not super sweet which I enjoyed the most. The matcha flavored one had a vanilla base from the taste of it causing it to be a little on the sweeter side, but still delicious. The peanut butter and jelly brownie captured all the right components with the gooey inside and crisp outside, and was baked with very rich chocolate. I was at Salt City Market/Bar for trivia on Monday night and needed a sweet treat. These desserts were perfect! The service was quick and very attentive. The decorations for Valentine's Day were also an added bonus.

One of the best dessert places you can find in Syracuse! I got the banana pudding and it tasted home made! Go early though because they do sell out of some of their deserts. The worker was so friendly and it was the perfect location. It really adds to the food hall, giving it a good place for a sweet treat after dinner!

We stopped in here after trying out some of the food options in Salt City Market. I've walked by a few times, largely ignoring the display because cupcakes aren't my favorite (I know). I don't know what led me to look closer to see the tea menu but there we were. The vibe is cute - from the tip jar that asks you to help send a cat to ninja school to the mint on the drink. The person who helped us was friendly and we didn't feel at all rushed despite how busy it was in the market. Our drinks were a little sweet for my tastes but my teen thought they were amazing. They use jasmine tea in the chai, which was a first for me instead of black tea. A great stop while you're in the market!

Super great ambiance. Syracuse has limited "3rd spaces" and this one dominates for sure. Awesome space to meet up with friends, get some remote work done or read a book (there's tons of great titles to choose from)! Service is fast and prices are fair!

This was my second stop at the Cake Bar when I was in cuse on business, and it's such a nice treat to tag on to the end of lunch! Last time I went cake, so this time I went with the cookies and cream cookie and it was scrumptious!

This is a great place on West Genesee St downtown. Coffee, tea, desserts and savory baked goods. They have coffee and tea flights, parfait desserts, bars, cookies and cakes. The baked goods are beautiful and made in house. The person at the counter was wonderful helping me decide what to try. I had a slice of pistachio ricotta cake that was flavorful and so fresh. My Pandan coffee was delicious. Pandan is a leaf that has a kind of coconut, vanilla flavor It was mixed with coffee and sweetened condensed milk...it was a bit sweet but so good. The place is very cheerful and relaxing, chairs and benches, pillows and fresh flowers.

Saw some cupcakes on my way out the door and had to stop! The color and toppings on the cupcakes are hard to resist. Although the strawberry lemon cupcakes caught my eye, I ended up leaving with a cute cotton candy cupcake that was dusted with deliciousness. The cupcake was lighter than you'd think upon first viewing and the sunshine tea was in the ballpark of a mango almond palmer taste that was okay but clearly took a backseat to the cupcake!

My husband and I wanted some dessert after we finished our meal at the market and we ended up at this spot. We went for a slice of the Apple Cake. I'm not usually a huge cake person, but I really enjoyed this slice. I wanted a bit more apple filling, but it was still good.

While in Vietnam, Duyen Nguyen's mom operated a successful bakery for more than 20 years. By eighth grade, she enrolled Nguyen in baking courses but that lasted only a few months. Though she might not have been interested in baking at the time, she still loved frequenting the many cafes of Ho Chi Minh City and indulging in their drinks and desserts. While working at Roji Tea Lounge years ago, Nguyen started baking for the first time. She wanted her American friends to taste popular sweets commonly available at tea bars throughout Asia. She researched recipes and baked cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. Due to the popularity of her sweets at Roji, Nguyen was encouraged to expand their dessert and drink menus. She decided to follow in her mother's footsteps and opened Cake Bar when Salt City Market opened in 2020. I've gotten dessert at Cake Bar several times and it's always delicious. I've had several flavors, from Biscoff to Oreo to Peach Almond, and have never had a flavor I didn't enjoy. The cake is well made, sturdy, and the slices are large. Their drinks are delicious too. My favorite is the peach white tea. Employees are always attentive and friendly. If you've got a sweet tooth, I absolutely recommend Cake Bar.

I'm grateful I don't live in the apartments above the Salt City Market, because if I did I think I'd gain about 20 lbs a month treating myself to Cake Bar. "You just had a cupcake yesterday," I'd tell myself, before promptly heading downstairs and buying another. Was psyched to try the rose, but unfortunately they were out. Luckily, they had other scrumptious options. I went with a strawberry cheesecake instead. Man, was that frosting creamy. Seriously, like biting into a cloud. The cake was sweet but not overwhelmingly so, with a little bit of jam in the middle. Really lovely. I also got a s'mores for the next day, and it came with a little mini s'mores garnish on top. I would advise to eat the cupcakes same day, as they get a little dry overnight. Not a huge deal, just something to keep in mind. Will return to try more flavors, though I'll definitely have to pace myself!

There is always a pleasant vibe to it and often there are people chatting or working on laptops. Employees are always really nice. I really enjoy the Pandan Matcha. Its so hard to find pandan drinks in the area! I find the drinks are often really sweet and so its important to order them with no sugar or less sugar. The boba is okay although the straws they have been using lately are too small for them so they lose some of the shape and correct texture. A random thing I love about their drinks are they used a crushed ice, it makes it feel appropriately portioned to the drink itself. Although I am not a coffee person, the cafe lattes are my partner's favorite in the area and they are highly customizable. It's also nice that they offer a carrier when you have a few drinks to-go. Interestingly, the cake and desserts are the weaker part for me for Cake Bar. They are often pretty dry for my tastes. My favorite has been the potato chip cookies, but I have only seen them a few times. The chicken wing dip buns are pretty good and filling though and are worth trying! As a Brooklyn boy I always found it odd there was no tip jar, we do things differently where I'm from. The prices for their goods is extremely good. Syracuse, take note of this and cherish your establishments. I walked out with two dozen donuts & a single danish cheese for $25. A famous national chain charges I think over $2.25 for a subpar donut. When I visit Cuse, I always stop here but this past time I feel the donuts were not as fresh as they once were, this could be very biased due to my experience and I don't go that often, the regulars will have better input in quality of the years. But what happened below is why I'm no longer stopping in. Saturday the 27th I pull into the parking lot and see a woman outside asking for change, very normal for me where I'm from. I don't say anything. I came inside to do a good deed, bring my neighbor and his children a dozen of donuts and grab a dozen for my family and an army buddy visiting from the west coast. I'm in a good mood. I never give people change, I always buy food. I decided I'll buy a cheese danish for the very thin woman outside in the cold. I add that to my order. Total $25 gave $30 and told the Wonderful Woman who took my order to keep the rest for herself. As I walk out, I offer the woman the cheese danish. She declined it. In a very rude way saying "she doesn't eat desserts". Now toots, you're in front of a damn bakery. People are more inclined to give you food as opposed to money so we don't support your clear drug habit. In Brooklyn where I'm from, the people like that still take the food, say thank you as it's still a kind gesture with good intentions and tosses it when you leave. That being said, there is no issue at this point. I say, "ok, have a good day and walk to my car". If the owner would like to review footage, it's the black 4Runner with NY disabled veteran plates. As I'm getting into my car, the same woman screams at me. Saying "bounce b-I-t-c-h" and telling me I better leave. Of course I reply with every profanity known to man and leave. The next morning I go again to take two donuts for my drive back to Brooklyn. Guess who's there? Yup the same delusional woman. Asks again for change and I tell her, "not after the way you treated me yesterday, I'll probably never give someone anything again that asks". Then she says "why does this man come here? I walk inside, order my two donuts and receive great service from the gentleman with glasses, who I gave a $1 tip to in two donuts. As I'm walking out another customer in the waking into the parking lot of course hands her a dollar. I told him my experience and he still chose too, hey it's America do what you wish. But when this broad is here every day, it's because people keep giving her money. But hey, his choice. And I'll do as I wish. I will no longer be coming to a Harrison Bakery. If they allow a delusional person to sit for hours everyday on THEIR property to accost/ harass customers, they cleary do not value us as customers to have a great peaceful experience. The donuts & Black & Whites are not that good to have to ruin my vibe. It's their property. Harrison bakery is 100% responsible of who is on their property and for what purpose. Syracuse PD will have no issue with issuing a no trespass for this person who literally stands or lays against the brick wall all day. Keep in mind. This is coming from someone who literally grew up in homeless shelters from time to time, even a bit of time at the Vera house down the road.

It wasn't until I started following discussion threads about the best donuts in town that I started hearing Lyncourt Bakery, over and over. I finally had no choice but to drive 2 miles up Teall Ave and see for myself. It started off as a pleasant surprise for my girlfriend. Look, we have donuts! Then the excuses started getting thinner and thinner. Hey, we're driving out to Buffalo. Let's go like 8 miles out of our way and pick up some donuts from Lyncourt Bakery for the trip! All the donuts are so fresh. The filled ones actually feel heavy and ready to burst. The cake style donuts have this fresh crispness that holds up for days. What got me by surprise was the cinnamon roll. I threw one in as kind of an impulse buy, even though I'm not usually crazy about them. It turned out to be one of my favorite things to get. I'd also say they've got my favorite cannoli in town, though I'd recommend the regular over the chocolate/vanilla ones. The only thing I wasn't actually crazy about was the iced cinnamon buns, but that's only because I didn't know they had raisins. And they are absolutely packed with raisins, like more than you'd imagine they could hold without just breaking apart. Also, the bread is good, but not the best in town. Like any great bakery, you have to come early for the full selection, and anticipate that there might be a line.

This is some of the best Fried Dough I've ever had. If you're up in Da Cuse and you want some Dough, this is the place to go. It's absolutely delicious and it's enormous! Basically for $2 they give you a huge long stick of dough (way bigger than even the biggest thingy, since you asked), and it's piping hot, greasy, juicy, fresh, delicious, and absolutely covered in cane sugar. I adore it. I'm not the biggest fan of some fried doughs, but this one is right up there with the best of them. It's made in a lot of places in WNY and CNY but I don't think anyone in this region makes it as well as Kim does. I'm so glad she left Eminem and opened up this place. And it's great that, at $2, you don't need a lot of Dough to get the Dough. So in the words of Homer Simpson: Dough!
