The storefront

It was our first time here and we almost drove right past it! There was plenty of parking but this is a to-go outfit, no place to stay and eat. We tried a strawberry and lemon/raspberry slice.... Both were great! Pricey at 6/slice but worth it for a special treat!

Cheesecake is my girlfriend's favorite thing, and it's always been hard to come by anything not just sold from a grocery store. This is one of those places I found out about way too late. Just happened to click the right Yelp page at the right time and this came up. Just in time for our anniversary though! First trip was a test run. That's the Cookie Monster and Blueberry slices I took home to see if they were legit. The Cookie Monster I saw on Yelp, it wasn't really displayed on any menu or presented as an option if I was browsing by what I saw in the store. The owner was really friendly and was happy to answer any questions I had. They were great for Mother's Day as well, they even came in on Sunday morning for last minute pick ups. I got the Sampler shown here for $35.00. You can customize the varieties, but this seemed like the most two people could handle. Here we got Raspberry White, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Coconut, and Coffee. Chocolate peanut butter was my favorite, followed closely by the raspberry. The coconut was weird, like really sour. Coffee was as expected. The texture was exactly what you want in cheesecake. Good, consistent texture all the way though, soft without giving too easily. The only thing I'd change is the graham cracker crust, it never really set on any of the things we ordered. Very crumbly and messy, especially when eating from a small paper wrapper. Absolutely delicious just the same though. I'm not familiar with too many places you could get a decent cheesecake around here, but this is definitely the best we've had.

Had to give this place a try. The cheesecake is sooo good and there are plenty of flavors to choose from. You can even build your own! I tried the Cookie Monster and cannoli. Although both were delicious, the cannoli was definitely my favorite. I had to share some with my roommate because there's no way I could've finished it myself. We both cleaned our plates. Joe, the owner, is such a sweet guy. Go check him out!

A variety platter of cheesecake slices

Ordered a variety tray of cheesecake from Big Mama's in Syracuse. Joe is a very friendly sort, works hard, comes in early and stays late to fill orders from a smaller business. I respect and appreciate that. The selections are many and the platter was filled with tasty treats. There is pickup or delivery available. So, why 4 stars? Being able to reach, connect and communicate to get the order in was up hill. Hours noted on internet and phone were different by 1 hr. Phone messages at least once, were full. After 4 calls on different days, I finally got a call back at 9pm finding Joe still working hard to fill the orders. He assured me that he'd make it right, and did make a very nice gift platter. Yet I still was not able to connect with him to prepay. As it was a gift. Thus, now, I owe the money not to the business for it but to the recipient who paid upon picking it up. When I give a gift, I expect that the person getting it does not have to lay out the money (whatever the graced adjusted cost was for the item) Seems the cheesecake and variety were fresh and tasty and an appreciated gift. So, would we go back and order again. Yes.

I have a major Sweet Tooth & after a local business in town Buck's Pizzeria started selling individual slices of B I G * M A M A ' S CHEESECAKE, I was hooked ! My daughter won't eat cake so for her second birthday we ordered a specialty CHEESECAKE and EVERYONE absolutely L O V E D it!!! Another great place that sells individual slices is The Deli @ 700. Either way I highly recommend BIG MAMA'S CHEESECAKES for Any Occasion!

The flavors we tried; everything was delicious

Absolutely incredible cheesecake and super friendly service. 10/10 recommend. This is probably, no joke, the best cheesecake I've ever had in my life. The white chocolate raspberry was our favorite, but every flavor we tried was delicious. Perfect firmness (I don't like soft cheesecake), creamy and smooth, delicious flavor and the crust was also spot on. Love that they have single slices so you can try a few different flavors in one trip, or a variety of other sizes like the mini cheesecake. We will ALWAYS go here any time we want cheesecake from now on!

All the baked goods look so delicious and the staff is soooooo nice. Jasmine or Jazmine, you are…read moresuch a sweet soul and so wonderful. She made my first experience here so amazing. Such a sweet and calm person!

I'll start with the great. The staff have always been wonderful when I've come. They always…read moreappreciate the small tip I leave them. As a Brooklyn boy I always found it odd there was no tip jar, we do things differently where I'm from. The prices for their goods is extremely good. Syracuse, take note of this and cherish your establishments. I walked out with two dozen donuts & a single danish cheese for $25. A famous national chain charges I think over $2.25 for a subpar donut. When I visit Cuse, I always stop here but this past time I feel the donuts were not as fresh as they once were, this could be very biased due to my experience and I don't go that often, the regulars will have better input in quality of the years. But what happened below is why I'm no longer stopping in. Saturday the 27th I pull into the parking lot and see a woman outside asking for change, very normal for me where I'm from. I don't say anything. I came inside to do a good deed, bring my neighbor and his children a dozen of donuts and grab a dozen for my family and an army buddy visiting from the west coast. I'm in a good mood. I never give people change, I always buy food. I decided I'll buy a cheese danish for the very thin woman outside in the cold. I add that to my order. Total $25 gave $30 and told the Wonderful Woman who took my order to keep the rest for herself. As I walk out, I offer the woman the cheese danish. She declined it. In a very rude way saying "she doesn't eat desserts". Now toots, you're in front of a damn bakery. People are more inclined to give you food as opposed to money so we don't support your clear drug habit. In Brooklyn where I'm from, the people like that still take the food, say thank you as it's still a kind gesture with good intentions and tosses it when you leave. That being said, there is no issue at this point. I say, "ok, have a good day and walk to my car". If the owner would like to review footage, it's the black 4Runner with NY disabled veteran plates. As I'm getting into my car, the same woman screams at me. Saying "bounce b-I-t-c-h" and telling me I better leave. Of course I reply with every profanity known to man and leave. The next morning I go again to take two donuts for my drive back to Brooklyn. Guess who's there? Yup the same delusional woman. Asks again for change and I tell her, "not after the way you treated me yesterday, I'll probably never give someone anything again that asks". Then she says "why does this man come here? I walk inside, order my two donuts and receive great service from the gentleman with glasses, who I gave a $1 tip to in two donuts. As I'm walking out another customer in the waking into the parking lot of course hands her a dollar. I told him my experience and he still chose too, hey it's America do what you wish. But when this broad is here every day, it's because people keep giving her money. But hey, his choice. And I'll do as I wish. I will no longer be coming to a Harrison Bakery. If they allow a delusional person to sit for hours everyday on THEIR property to accost/ harass customers, they cleary do not value us as customers to have a great peaceful experience. The donuts & Black & Whites are not that good to have to ruin my vibe. It's their property. Harrison bakery is 100% responsible of who is on their property and for what purpose. Syracuse PD will have no issue with issuing a no trespass for this person who literally stands or lays against the brick wall all day. Keep in mind. This is coming from someone who literally grew up in homeless shelters from time to time, even a bit of time at the Vera house down the road.
