Hands down the best ice cream in the Syracuse area. I tried the location on McDonald road first but that was closed for the season so headed to the Valley. The fall hours in the valley are 12:00-8:00 very day. I love that they change flavors for the seasons, I got a pumpkin pie ice cream and it has bits of pie crust in the pumpkin ice cream and it was fabulous! This is why I mention it's very friendly towards kids, as you can definitely feel like a kid again eating inside. They have a wide variety of flavors here and I does seem they rotate many seasonal flavors. It looks like they have well over 30 flavors to choose from to get and make into sundaes. In addition, the menu also has shakes, slushes, smoothies, flurries, and etc. There even have some soft ice cream options and dipped ice cream (in chocolate, cherry, peanut butter, nuts). I opted to get two flavors on a cone, choosing the one scoop of Black Raspberry Truffle and Pistachio Almond on a waffle cone. Both flavors were great. The Black Raspberry Truffle was not an overwhelming flavor that I thought it could have been and I really enjoy Pistachios in general, so having almonds in there was a nice touch. All homemade ice cream is the creamiest, most delightful, delectable ice cream, and you can whip up fun and creative flavors. Two flavors are fundamental, as in you should definitely try them, because they are my favorites: Chocolate raspberry truffle and sea salt. Such a remarkable contrast too. The sea salt is reminiscent of caramel, but it's just the right amount of savory to add to such a sweet treat. Then you have the deep, but not intense, chocolate with fudge-y chocolate truffle pockets and swirls of raspberry jam. There's a picture of me lost in the magic of these flavors that I will probably be embarrassed posting, but for the sake of telling you how delicious this place is, I will. What can I say? Ice cream is a miracle. It's cold, but it melts into a luxurious cream in your mouth and it's sweet and there are an abundance of flavors. Gannon's has pretzel, coffee java chip, Charlie Brown, lemon, espresso, mint, I'm probably not even remembering the exact ones/names, but let me just tell you that they feature some exciting combinations. And if you really think about it, the ice cream is actually warmer than the Syracuse winter outside. With a ton of flavors and friendly service, Gannon's is definitely on my Syracuse bucket list whenever I visit town. I especially like the almond bark, the Charlie brown, Rocky Mountain Raspeberry, and their brownie fudge (can you tell I like chocolate?). Usually you can sample a few, but the choice will be difficult indeed! The hot apple sundae was also excellent. And don't forget their soft ice cream flavors! Everything I've had here has been super creamy and wonderful. The others just talked in the back. C) when we order pints from Gannon's ice cream, I didn't know until we opened them the it was all liquid at the top and soupy ice cream has run down the side of the containers of BOTH pints. Could you lower the temps on your freezers? This all happened around 3pm today. We hit the trifecta of you trying to sell your unfrozen product.
