The cookies were delicious. Unfortunately the employee who was there wasn't there at first. Friday 4/11/25 I had an order due for 1pm. I was 5 mins early, walked into the place and no employee anywhere to be seen! I shouted Hello, no answer! I stood there until 1:04pm and then the employee emerged from a door in the back. It was empty in the restaurant, until another person came in. I joked that today must be self service day ! They laughed. I opened my box and noticed one cookie was half missing and I asked. We were craving for some sweets and decided to come here last minute because it was one of the only stores that were open around 10pm on a Thursday night. There were quite a few people inside once we arrived but the staff menebers are super fast paced and made sure that all of us didn't have to wait long. The cookies and brownies were super warm even when we drove back home in the cold weather for 10 minutes. All the cookies were soft except for the white chocolate macadamia but it tasted the best out of all of them. My second favorite is probabaly the classic M&Ms. The cookies are on the pricier side but it's typical for a dessert place like this. read more

I haven't been in many cookie shops more than 5 miles from my house, but I've been "in some near" my house. Get it. In some near. No. Nobody. I can't get no sleep! Maybe it's because I'm not religious. But I'm happy to be Faithless. Sort of like when my cassette copy of George Michael's first solo album was stolen from me as a child. The Insomnia Cookie chain is pretty awesome, because they will serve hot gooey sexy cookies until like 3 in the morning, and they even deliver them. The ice cream is nothing to write home about. Not that you would write home about ice cream anyway. Or maybe you would. Maybe that's your thing. Who am I do judge. A lot of these Insomnia places don't have very good service. This one on the other hand has really nice employees, and it was the very first one that I ever tried. I've since been back here several times. So I would recommend everybody give it a try if you like hot cookies because I certainly do. I usually give this chain three or four stars but this particular location definitely gets 5. This one up by SU isn't the easiest location to get to if you're not on campus. Limited parking in the usually always packed Marshall St area. But the cookies are worth the pain of finding a parking spot. Service is so so, depending on who you get. I've had great service, I've had not so great service. YES! Insomnia cookies... those fresh outta the oven, please-just-don't-fall-apart-in-my-hand-on-the-way-from-the-box-to-my-mouth bits of heaven. I literally made myself buy a dozen cookies every few weeks for my office just so I could share the delight of this place with others (and because it would take me that long to decide which cookies I wanted to eat that day). Their selection is decent. The quality is consistently wonderful. My favorites were M&Ms, Snickerdoodles, and White Chocolate Macadamia, but they were all dreamy. There are some frozen yogurt options too, but the dazed-and-cookie-fused experience honestly doesn't really allow you to get that far. They also wisely limit their beverage options to a half-dozen varieties of milk... I mean, what else would you be thinking of, right? Cookies and Coca-cola??? That's just disturbing. Prices are great (most $1.25, 12 for $9.50 and such). Cookie delivery is available, which is the greatest idea since Einstein's theory of relativity. They also have specials for bulk orders going up to 300 cookies... which I think is the daily order for that corner of heaven devoted to fresh baked cookies. Mann I can't believe how many years I have been coming here and never thought to leave them an awesome review. Let's face it, Insomnia isn't overrated, is amazing, and stays open extra late to give you amazing cookies. You may ask what I mean about the first part. I get the feeling that more and more people choose not to come to amazing places because they become more popular and less underground. I won't ever stop coming here though. I have insanely fond memories of working near the hill and always coming here. My wife and I still drive up here from Liverpool just to mow down on deliciousness. There are very few things better than having them take out a warm sugar cookie that is soft, gooey, and delicious. They have so many different cookies here. You can be like me and get that warm sugar or try some of the other many types like M&M, chocolate chip, or oatmeal raisin. The prices are pretty fair, but you need to be extra careful as you may buy a ton of cookies and end up spending over 20 bucks there. With a recommendation from a friend from SU, my first visit to Syracuse ended with a fateful late night visit to Insomnia Cookies. Upon ordering four chocolate chip cookies for $1 each, I was skeptical at first. A cookie for a $1? A little over priced, but after realizing the care and heavenliness they embodied made the $4 totally worth it. They apparently have a cookie heater, not an oven where they store the cookies so when you order them, you get them HOT and they seem FRESH, right out of the OVEN.
