We have been going to Jessicakes for a year now for every birthday and let me tell you she never disappoints. The cake is what everyone looks forward too. My granddaughter turned 3 yesterday and we did UP! themed. The cake was AMAZING! I had a vision and Jessie create a it but so much better than I could have imagined. Thankyou Jessi!! Later on after eating our dinner at Francesca's, we were craving a little sweetness for dessert. We headed on over to Jessicakes in Bville. First time here. Marge ordered the small hot fudge sundae. She loved the melted chocolate as it hardened like ganache. I had the loaded nachos. Vanilla and chocolate ice creams ( you can order your preferences ), with fresh strawberries, sprinkles, whipped topping, nuts, the works! Came with a side of caramel and waffle chips. The earlier reviewer mentioned the owners overwhelmingly positive attitude. She is right! You can just feel the love this woman has for her store and her craft. The selection is awesome. There was something for everyone. The kids got frozen custard while my wife and I opted for the giant Oreo brownie and the peanut butter cookie dipped in chocolate and covered in PB cups. They were huge! There was plenty for us to share with each other and the kids got to try them too. The prices were very reasonable as well. We will definitely be back. I posted a pic of the food we got. The clear box isn't snack size, it's a full meal size box. :)

I really want to thank the staff and owner of JessiCakes for really coming through on a really intricate, and complex cake. The cake was based on a Star Wars action figure in its original packaging. They made the cake and emulated the packaging accurately, and she even made an action figure to go inside the cake - it was amazing. The cake was a hit at the party, and was tasty to boot. I have been here a few times. The last couple times I have been there there isn't much left. They must be good selling so much. The cupcakes are solid. We have had their cakes at a party before and also good. Prices are a bit steep but not any more than any other bakery. Summertime they do ice cream and my little guys enjoys it. The ice cream is very good. It great taste and texture. We ordered 3 large cookies, funfetti, peanut butter, and chocolate chip. Funfetti was amazing, peanut butter was good, too. The chocolate chip was just okay. I wouldn't order it again. Last week we went for sundaes. I ordered the brownie sundae and my husband ordered the PB sundae. They were good, but lacked in toppings. For 6.50 we expected more pieces of cookie and brownie, hence the 3 stars. If we go back, we will opt for a cone or milkshake instead. read more

I picked up 4 cupcakes today at the window. I thought they looked frozen when they put them in the plastic container and I was right. We went to eat them tonight for an early Valentine's Day celebration and the frosting was hard and fell right off the cupcake in chunks when I cut it in half. The cake part was dry, which happens when it's been previously frozen. Very disappointed as I thought everything was made fresh daily. Won't return at $3 a cupcake for a dry dessert. read more

We are new to the area and happened upon this little shop just outside the restaurant where we had dinner. I can't begin to describe the cheerfulness of the shop owner in which would do her justice. She greeted us with a smile despite being ready to close, recommended scrumptious peanut butter cookies and served us soft serve ice cream to match the perfect weather. I wouldn't have wanted to cap off the night with any other treat. She certainly made two lifetime customers. read more

We tried to come here last Sunday. Their posted hours had them opening hours ago, but they were closed. We cried and cried, regrouped, and went to Carvel. They were open the next time we tried a few days later. It seems like a small setup and one-man operation, with a dozen or so flavors of Hershey's hard ice cream and standard soft serve. It's the last week of the season, so they were kind of winding down. I love Fall, but it's sad watching the ice cream places dwindle down once they've stopped re-ordering. And all the best flavors go first. I got a banana pudding sundae and added peanut butter sauce, because peanut butter banana. The banana pudding made a great sundae, and they put something that served as pie crust at the bottom. I wish I'd thought to slow down and see what it was, because it was incredible, but I ate it as quickly as possible. They don't seem to have a ton of selection on the regular menu (maybe they do specials when they're going full speed during the season), but I'd come back to try at least half the sundaes I saw if they're made as well as the one I had. My girlfriend got a milkshake and used banana pudding ice cream, and a scoop of peanut butter ice cream (I forget the name of it). It was an average milkshake she said, but the pb cup pieces in the ice cream and crunch coat added on top made it better. We threw in a counter cookie at the last minute. It was a lot bigger, but I'd compare the taste and consistency to a Wegman's chocolate chunk cookie. Soft and kind of chewy but with a super consistent texture. They're homemade, but have a less than homemade feel to them if that makes sense. We were extremely hungry and taking our ice creams home, so this was to keep us alive for the drive home. I'd have to see some compelling specials or be right in the area to come back here. It's better than a bare bones ice cream stand, but not enough to pull me in from the distance I drove to try it.

We ordered a regular oat milk latte, an iced matcha latte and also grabbed one of their $1 "day old cookies" they had out. My husband said the oat milk latte had a great espresso to milk ratio and the "day old" banana split cookie did not taste stale at all and was delicious. My matcha was a bit on the lighter/mild side for the matcha taste and I'd probably get something different next time as their specialty drinks looked really tasty. I'm excited to have tried Cafe Blue and will definitely visit again!

The vibe was relaxed and low-key, making it a good place to sit down and get some work done. I spent some time working while I was there and appreciated having a space where I could focus without feeling rushed. The staff was pleasant, and one of the employees was kind enough to take a picture for me when I asked, which I appreciated. The only thing that stood out to me was that there wasn't much of a greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, but it wasn't a huge issue. The seating was okay. The chair I chose wasn't the most comfortable for an extended stay, but it got the job done. There was also some rock music playing during my visit, which helped create a casual atmosphere. I didn't order any coffee or food this time around, so I can't speak to the menu yet. This visit was more about finding a place to work and unwind for a bit. Would I come back? Yes. While I'm still searching for my go-to coffee lounge in Syracuse, Recess is definitely a spot I'd visit again. I live outside the USA and wanted to surprise my daughter at Syracuse Univ. It is her first birthday away from home and she was crying in the morning. But Jessie really went above and beyond to make this first birthday away from home special. My daughter went to a restaurant with a group of friends and Jessie brought the cake directly there. Jessica made the most beautiful as well as delicious Red Velvet Cake for my great niece's 14th birthday. What was even more amazing was how quickly the cake was devoured.
