I tried 4 cupcakes here: 1. thin mint 2. Boston cream pie 3. lemon raspberry 4. cinnamon roll The order I listed it was my favorite to least favorite. Most of the flavors were pretty standard and classic flavors like vanilla, peanut butter, chocolate, etc. I would have liked to see some more creative flavors. The last 2 cupcakes had a cream cheese frosting and there was a bit too much frosting for my taste. I am giving this place an extra star just for their fun Polar seltzer waters. I tried the Unicorn flavored one and loved it. I love seltzer water in general and have never seen this brand. I liked that there was both indoor and outdoor seating options. Parking is mostly street parking that was free for 1 hour. I did not see them sell any other dessert options outside of cupcakes. Good cupcakes, bad service. After my kiddos graduated their very first year of preschool, and out of excitement I wanted to take them to get a treat. Luckily I saw that this place was open and after so long of wanting to come in but find it closed we happily went in! With them closing in ten minutes we planned on being quick but we're greeted with judging looks and curt responses. They told us that half dozens were 50% off so we chose six, then they half heartedly told us something about paying, and when I asked "I'm sorry?" They said "oh you can pay there" and then walked away, and didn't even thank us for coming in, much less greet us when we came in. Honestly after wanting to come in here for so long it's disappointing to see it wasn't very family friendly, or really friendly at all. read more

Apparently my friend looked this place up when we were both craving chocolate and cake and it said that there was a cupcake happy hour, where every cupcake was $3 during the time we were planning on going. That was not the case, though. We payed full price. But we still each got three cupcakes. No regrets, however. The black tie was really good. I didn't have high expectations but it surprised me! There was a pudding-y filling and it hit the spot. Sometimes you just need to indulge. My craving was instantly satisfied. I also got a peanut butter cupcake and a lemon raspberry cupcake. I love lemon raspberry, I feel like the one I had was okay. I usually like ones with cream cheese frosting or whipped cream frosting and a light chiffon cake or some kind of cake with whipped egg whites to give it an airy, whimsical texture. I'm v into cake if you can't tell. I take it v seriously. I watch bon appetite and food network religiously. I feel like the peanut butter one was good, but kind of forgettable. Idk. I just want to be wowed. I like when places put effort and creativity into their food. Offer different types of cakes, not just other flavors. Show off the seasonal varieties. Boy what a difference a year makes! Last year I went to a bakery that was recommended, Murphy's in Manlius and ordered a German Chocolate Cake and it was terrible and my daughter was so disappointed because it was for her birthday. Then we found Mrs. Kelder's, let me just say there aren't enough adjectives to describe how delicious and beautifully decorated her cakes and cupcakes are. We are living in difficult times for our health, education and work due to Covid; That being said, Small business have taken a hit. But Covid is not the reason a small business will not always survive, However lack of customer service is. It is very disappointing that an in person inquiry, three emails and a phone call cannot render even a response, yes or no, regarding being able to bake a cake for a specific date. With the abundance of young staff to run interference with non specific generalized answers to our questions; just that "we will be contacted", May I suggest you utilize their assistance in helping you, to at least, respond to your e-mails. Everybody's time is valuable, and if I had even received just an email stating it wasn't possible, I would then have started to make other plans- Doing that now. Fellow Manlius residents would have loved to have a local business to support and turn to for their special life events. I cannot comment on the quality of the baked goods because I was not able to secure an order, however I have heard they are very good. Bad experience!!! I recently wanted to order a cake for my daughter's birthday. I asked for an appointment to design the cake and I sent in pictures 10 days in advance of the event. Plus, it was a simple design. My e-mail was not answered for over a week; then I was told that my order couldn't be filled because I was not within the required 7-day order window (even though I had contacted her 10 days prior to my event). In addition, I purchased cupcakes for my family to taste-test. Everyone said they were dry and crumbly and the icing was too sugary, compared to other local bakeries.
