I ordered a 5 pound Italian cookie tray for a baby shower and asked for them to add in pink cookies. It is beautiful and I know it will be devoured. Who doesn't like Italian cookies?! Service is friendly and they are conveniently located on state fair Boulevard in Lakeland. Of course, I can't just go in and pick up a cookie tray, I had to get a strawberry shortcake turnover. Went to buy some sweets saw this deal was buying a pizza tonight then decided to to try this. They told me crust was made by them so got a pre baked 1/2 sheet sauce and cheese for $12.50 if I wanted the pepperoni it was $15.00. This might not be the biggest bakery in town but so far everything I've had there has been fantastic. Finishing up refereeing a couple basketball games my partner and I stopped to check out Bella. He purchased about half a dozen different items, and I tried the sticky bun a.k.a. pecan roll, and the blueberry muffin. No doubt one of the best "sticky buns" I've ever had. The pastry was super soft, the caramel was plentiful, and the pecans were stout! The blueberry muffin also was quite fresh. Tons of blueberries and a sprinkle of sugar on top. Yum! Looking for a fantastic pastry bakery this one is worth the effort and the drive. read more

This is one of those places we occasionally drive past when we're on the far end of State Fair Blvd for whatever reason. Being close to Johnny Mac's made it easier to justify the drive. We put the miles on Johnny Mac's, and then hey since we're right here... I've only seen PBJ donuts at Harrison. While I won't remember this place for their donuts, the PBJ donut was the best. They have a variety of half moon cookies too, which are the best. Honestly, I don't really see the hype about half moon cookies in general, but they're a local thing so I always end up getting them. I like a firm texture, and they have amazing, unique flavors to keep things interesting. We still have plenty to try, but we got a decent feel for the place with our two visits. To our surprise, the donuts and Danishes were average. It's the other pastries we'd come back for. The eclairs were our favorite, and at that point we were just pointing to things, so there were a few others we'd come back for, although I couldn't tell you what they were. We accidentally left the peanut butter cookie in the box for three days, and even then it was the best cookie we've bought from a bakery. We definitely want to try the bread, the cake, muffins, and like 5 other pastries at least. Also the cannolis, which are fresh and filled to order! The lady behind the counter is very nice. Not only was she patient while we took 20 minutes figuring out how to fill our box, but she talked to us the whole time and explained everything at least once. Highly recommend coming here to try one of everything. read more

The GPS sent us first to the old location and then found the current location. Getting there after 10 am on a Sunday morning has less to choose from but there are plenty of delicious items to choose from. We picked out an apple cinnamon Danish and a buttercream chocolate long john. We took our treats down to the Strawberry Festival and picked up some coffee to enjoy with our bakery items. What a treat - plenty of apples and cinnamon in the danish and the buttercream donut had buttercream in every bite (unlike some donut places). I like the old corn shucker and apple press outside and can't wait to get back there. read more

If there's one thing Syracuse excels at, it's baked goods. This little gem is no exception! They carry a selection of a number of intriguing offerings. I opted for the horns- a light, crispy layered shell, filled with ricotta and some almond flavor, and dusted with powdered sugar. What bliss! The pastry itself has a lovely crunch- no soggy bottoms here, as Mary Berry would say. The ricotta is rich and creamy with no chunkiness, and the almond flavor really shines through. If you are looking for a delightful pastry, this is it. We also got a doughnut and some muffins, which I am very much looking forward to eating. Baking has been a way of life for the Bella family for 5 generations now. Owner John Bellas grandparents were bakers in Italy, and eventually moved to the US and opened the Brooklyn Bakery. They later moved to Syracuse and opened Bella Bakery, where John's father, Salvatore, kept their traditions alive. Bella Bakery is settled on State Fair Blvd in the Solvay/Lakeland area, and was recommended to me by my in laws who live in the area. My wife and I have been many times, and Bella is one of our favorite bakeries in CNY. Most of everything they have is great and we've tried a little of everything, from donuts to brownies and cookies. My favorite thing from them though is their strawberry turnovers, covered in delicious whipped cream. Their prices are fair and the employees are always friendly. They do tend to run out of stuff somewhat later in the morning/early afternoon like many bakeries do though, so try to get there are early as possible. I have used Bella Bakery for all our family weddings for the wedding cakes , Italian cookies, rolls and bread. Also moist and fresh cakes, cookies to die for (brought 30 pounds of cookies) and not one cookie was left and rolls delicious. I go over on weekends to get fresh donuts and Italian pastries. Fresh cannoli, filled to order, maintaining the lightly crispy shell that puts the finishing touch on this delicacy. The raspberry swirl cookie is flavorful and soft. Ordered a birthday cake from Bella recently to celebrate. Was drawn "back" to Bella as they did our wedding cake and cookies many years ago. Had such a wonderful experience with them at that time, that we would often return to get smaller cakes or pastries made from them. It had been many years since we had tried Bella, and they have since moved to a new location in Lakeland. My understanding is that they have been in this current location for less than a year. They share a building with "Liquor,Wine and Moonshine" so I suppose you could kill two birds with one stone while you are there. Bakery is very clean and welcoming, with many tantalizing pastry assortments greeting you when you walk in. I worked directly with the owner who gladly guided me through my order. Settled on a red velvet 8" cake with a rich, chocolate frosting. It had approximately three layers of red velvet, each separated by chocolate. The cake was delicious and well received by all who ate it. Prices were very reasonable. It was a good experience, supplemented by warm customer service. My wife and I were glad we chose Bella 18 years ago, and they certainly didn't disappoint us this past weekend! Cheers! read more

Ordered a cake from this bakery because it was recommended by a coworker, will never order from this establishment again. The cake was for my birthday party so it was served to over 10 people all to find out the frosting taste like pure salt as if the salt was mistaken for sugar. After we decided it wasn't just one persons tastebuds that was off, we closed the box up and had other deserts. I called Bella bakery on weds with Monday being the holiday and just slipping my mind on Tuesday. The son of the owner answered and was very understanding when I explained the situation to him, he asked me to bring in the remainder of the cake and he could either refund me the money or give me a gift card. Well that all changed the next day when I returned the cake, his father was not there as he said he would be to handle the matter and he gave me half a dozen donuts stating that's all he could do ( at this time it's 4:30pm) so half dozen old donuts. read more
