Both Nikki and I realized we didn't know each other's names until last week, when stopping in for some donuts and coffee I said "you know it's funny, I've been coming in here for over 28 years, as long as I've been married. You've watched my son grow up and given him donut holes for 20 years. We've talked about your son Dino, your husband and my wife but I just realized that we've never introduced ourselves to each other." She said "come on, we know each other". I said we do but we don't know each other's name. We looked at each other, she said "Really ? You're right, we don't, oh my gawd!!" We laughed, introduced ourselves for the first time. I picked up some wonderful artisan donuts (because they're more than just donuts) and said "See you soon" Great smells, great person, wonderful donuts. Make sure you go out of your way for these!

Unfortunately for me, I only get to go a few times a year when I visit family; but stopping there is always a must! Her donuts are so flavorful, creative, and moist. She also offers half-moons, muffins, brownies, cookies, and a delightful breakfast sandwich with a plain donut as the bun. I've never disliked anything I've tried there, even when going outside of my comfort zone. The owner, THE Heidi herself, is so kind, welcoming, and friendly. They indicated they made that bread many years ago and were up for making it again for us. We got a couple of loaves on that visit and the sandwiches were a hit. Went back in for something sweet and got some wonderful donuts. There is nothing fancy here but they make some of the best bakery items around. The family owned and operated business adds to the charm. They are warm and friendly and it was so nice to met them and try some of their baked goods. I'll be frank: they do have some things they farm themselves, but a lot of the other produce is homegrown... just not necessarily from the area. And honestly, that's a little annoying when you're stopping at a roadside farm market expecting more local stuff. That said, they have a good variety of things, and they take credit cards as well as Apple Pay/Google Pay, which is definitely a plus. Is it worth stopping? I'd say yes, especially if you're already in the area. BUT if you happen to see one of those little roadside farm stands while you're driving around, I'd stop there too -- just make sure you have cash. And yes, they have parking, so no worries there!

The back of the store is busy with guys packing and wheeling loads in and out of business vehicles. I ordered six doughnuts. I chose glazed and cinnamon and then told the clerk to finish it off. There was no drinks or coffee, other than skim milk, which I got. It was good because it was freezing cold. Doughnut places in Mass like to charge 2 or 3 dollars per doughnut. This was not the case at Harrison Bakery. After I entered, it seemed like the place got really busy. When I returned to my car, there were alot of vehicles in the lot than when I arrived. I found this place early on, and it quickly became cemented into our Saturday morning routine. These are top tier donuts I'd compare to any other revered place you've been to. I don't normally go for headlights, but here they're my first choice because the frosting is perfect. Even the simple donuts are a straight up euphoric experience. They don't do food outside of donuts and sometimes some other baked goods. Then they have a full coffee/espresso menu. This past summer they started using the location for the Afternoon Scoop, where they're not afraid to combine these donuts with soft serve or Perry's ice cream. And huge bonus points to them for staying open through the winter. It definitely gets expensive coming here. I may just be out of touch with normal prices, but it feels kind of high here, with donuts starting at $2.00 a piece. The only other drawback is that they can sell out any time.
