I also really appreciated that even though a conglomerate of people showed after us and pushed to the front of the counter, the nice staff asked around them to me to see what I wanted. That is really attentative and kind. We ordered four baked goods, with myself getting the "lobster tail" and chocolate chip cannoli. The cannoli was super tasty, great filling and not too skimpy. It was also a great price. The lobster tail to me wasn't as good, but I haven't had one before to compare to others. Although the presentation of it was beautiful, the filo dough was a little tough to chew. I don't think I would order that again but I would definitely go here again for other things. read more

Although the bakery seemed organized, the rudeness and discourteous behavior by an older lady behind the counter was extremely uncalled for. She made it seem like I was an inconvenience asking about items in the window as this was my first visit. For that reason I decided not to purchase any additional items in the window. She made me pay without even showing me the item I had ordered first. When I asked to see what it looked like, you could clearly see she she was annoyed. She could see I was disappointed with my order, stated that and said sorry we couldn't make you happy. She never asked how she could fix the problem. She never asked what she could do to make it better. She just gave me attiitude, pushed the item in front of me and walked away. Based on this, I will never return to this Bakery. Okay wow this place is awesome. They have a HUGE selection of all kinds of different pastries including cookies, cakes, donuts, cupcakes, and breads. I was very delighted with the selection. Some people may complain that there aren't enough donuts, however, this is understandable because they make quite a selection of other baked goods. They're not just a donut shop... That being said, their plain donut was perfect compared to the competition. I LOVED the Italian and butter cookies! These were probably the best cookies I've ever tasted. I also tried a piece of banana cake, cupcakes (chocolate and vanilla). I thought these were fantastic. I'm still kicking myself for not getting their famous Italian bread so don't make the same mistake I did! The service was fast and easy and the prices were very reasonable. OK, so it's a cold November afternoon here in Syracuse, the perfect day to make a beef stew! Now nothing goes better with a nice stew then some fresh baked bread, so I decided to take a ride and try this bakery which I had heard about for years. Located right on Main Street in North Syracuse it was easy to find. I went in and was greeted by a friendly young lady who asked if I had been helped yet. I told her I was not and that I wanted some fresh bread.She asked if I knew about their different selections. I replied I did not and she very nicely pointed out their different types of bread. I asked her if the Italian bread was fresh and she said everything is fresh, but these are still warm. Sold! I also perused the baked cases and there were a lot of nice little treats there. as well.I saw the cannolis and my mind was made up. Again she very Helpfully pointed out and explained the different kinds. I asked her which was her favorite, and without hesitation she recommended the Ricotta cheese. Sold again! Prices were extremely reasonable, everybody was friendly, and for 4 o'clock on a Friday afternoon it was busy which was a definite good sign. Another place that I have seen a thousand times, but never actually went there. For some reason the outside blue color didn't attract me in. I know that sounds weird, but I'm a visual person. We had a birthday we needed to get a cake for and my gf highly recommended we come here. I'm so glad I listened because they were fantastic! Right when you walk in you are greeted with an entire glorious collection of deliciousness. They have just about everything you could want and then some! We decided to go with the lemon raspberry cake and have them write a birthday message on it. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the cake didn't last ten minutes at the party. We had gotten cupcakes from another place and only half of those were touched. They were able to get the cake ready for me within two days and the price was fantastic. But last week when I stopped in to pick out a cake and have them decorate it for a 50th birthday party, they came out of the back room with a poorly decorated cake. Almond "half moon" cookies -- sweet chewy almond paste on the inside and crispy coating covered with almond slices. The raspberry version is good, tart jam balances off sweetness of the cookie. There is also the chocolate dipped, and the "original". Lobster tail -- that's the name used in New York area to describe an American version of the Sfogliatelle. If you can find a freshly made one here, it's really quite good. Cannolis with different fillings. I only eat the ricotta version and would buy again. Had regally high expectation for their spanakopita because the owners are Greek, but found it so so. Probably would be a pass for me in future. Drip coffee only, no real cream or milk, no espresso based coffee. If you are in the area, definitely a good place to go to pick up some goodies. Not really a sit-down place. read more

Always fresh bread and fantastical baked goodies. Cannolis absolutely to die for, and they're less than $2 each. The filling is so thick, sweet and wonderful and comes in a variety of flavors. I'm also pretty over the moon about the gelato shop attached to the bakery that is (sadly) only open during the summer. If you're lucky, you get to see them making the waffle cones right in front of you. Myy daughter loves watching the process. For my Mother's 100th B'day in heaven, my brother purchased a carrot cake. We love their cakes. However, beware of this one. It had four thinly sliced layers with gobs of frosting between each layer and then frosted on top and sides. I like the frosting but give me a break, like where's the cake as in where's the beef in burgers. It had way too many raisins in it as well, a little pineapple would have moisten this very dry cake. I have going to the Geddes Bakery for several years now. I love all their almond paste cookies/pastries. Their half moon cookies are also a treat, especially the chocolate ones. I have enjoyed their apple fritters. They had apple chunks in them. Their blueberry pie is flavorful with a good crust. The cheesecake was okay but nothing to write home about. I grew up in NYC and this one just wasn't as good. I think their breads are alright but you can get ones at Wegmans that are as tasty. I will say the banana cake is the best I have tasted and the rum cake is to die for. read more
