    Greek coffee
    Angela R.

This cafe is located inside a converted house in the Hawley Green neighborhood, near Laci's. I was able to find parking on the street easily. The inside is so charming, like a gorgeous living room. There are counter style seats and tables. There were also some tables on the porch, and apparently they have a back patio too. The decorations are really lovely and calming. Their menu has a variety of coffees, with some smoothies, and there are also some baked goods. I went for the Spanakopita, because hello, how could I not. They write where they source all their baked goods from and the Spanakopita came from someone at the local Greek Orthodox church, so you know it had to be good, and it was. It's served cold but it was so salty and savory. They also serve Greek coffee. Not sure if any other spots in Syracuse do. Greek coffee is a concentrated coffee, like a sludgy espresso. The staff will ask if you want sugar before they make it because you have to add it during the brewing process. I used to work at a Turkish restaurant and drank my fair share of Turkish coffee which is very similar, and can I tell you, this Greek coffee HIT. It was made absolutely perfectly. They struck the exact balance so that it was rich, not bitter, and just the right amount of sweet. They serve the coffee and baked goods in the most gorgeous and ornate cups and plates. It's worth coming to feel fancy and snap a picture of your fancy tea cups. A note about the ambiance - it is also a Christian Orthodox bookstore and run by folks who are super into the faith. There is some religious art on the walls. However, even if you're not really religious you can feel comfortable, and the vibes are welcoming. Just something to keep in mind so you're not surprised, since that might catch you off guard if you don't expect it. I will also warn that they have very lively and loud Greek music playing, so if you're coming to get some work done and that's not your jam, be sure to bring earbuds. The WiFi was strong, and reached onto the porch which was a plus. Love that inside, they had hooks under the tables for your bags. So convenient. The staff was really friendly and gave great service. A cool, cozy, special spot worth checking out!

My sister wanted to check this place out and I'm glad we went! So cozy inside and the choices of lattes were amazing. I had a hard time choosing but went for cinnamon maple latte. It was delicious I really loved the fact that it was served in a ceramic mug. I think coffee tastes better in a mug than paper container. They also have a bookstore upstairs and more seating. The barista was so friendly and I asked how long they have been in the location and he said 7 months. I will definitely be back when in the area because I love the vibe and the coffee.

They had some seasonal specials so I tried the cinnamon maple latte.

This spot has been on my radar for a long time, back when it was Peaks. It recently went through a…read morerebrand. I found myself with some work to do on a Saturday morning and decided to swing by. There's on street parking on the block it's on and surrounding blocks. There's also an abandoned store across the street with a small lot, which is where I wound up parking. The space is small but I didn't have any trouble finding a seat, though I imagine that might be a different case later in the day or during peak study time for the students. I got an ube iced coffee special with oat milk, and impulsively ordered the breakfast burrito too. I figured if they have shirts advertising the burrito, it must be good. The decor is very trendy and chic and well-curated, and you'll feel super hip hanging out here. The coffee was alright but my shot was a bit on the bitter side - assuming this was just a one-off. The breakfast burrito lived up to the hype. Fluffy eggs, perfectly crispy pressed tortilla, a flavorful aioli generously slathered all over the plate. Definitely one of the places to come (if not THE place) in Syracuse if you want a breakfast burrito. Unfortunately for me, the WiFi was down when I went, so I couldn't actually do my work and didn't stay long. Womp womp. Perhaps unavoidable, but definitely not ideal for a coffee shop. I wish I'd brought a book with me that day or had more time just to spend, because I'd say this spot is great for silent reading and unplugging more than working or socializing. Worth checking out, for the aesthetics and the tasty egg burritos.
