Came across this Vietnamese Peruvian fusion which had a very similar menu to another popular restaurant in OC, so I was curious to how this compares. I got the Lomo Saltado, Grilled chicken garlic noodles, and the Combination pho. The rice in the Lomo saltado was disappointing as it was very soggy. The meat was nice and tender, and the sauce didn't have much flavor. The rice being soggy definitely ruined the overall dish itself. The garlic noodles were good, but not too strong of a garlic flavor. I would say it's a good standard garlic noodles dish, but didn't stand out. Lastly the pho meat was good, but again, noodles were not good. The initial noodle it came with was too starchy and the refill batch were undercooked. Overall the carbs (rice and noodles) that came with the dish did not complement the proteins which is so important as they are a staple! Service was good with a good restaurant ambiance. Overall, I'd probably stick with the other more popular Vietnamese Peruvian restaurant here in the OC. read more

Started off with their cucumber salad, which was perfect for this hot weather -- super refreshing and a nice light start before the main dishes came out. Then we got the oxtail fried rice and their short rib pho, and both were solid. The fried rice had great flavor and the oxtail made it extra rich and satisfying. The short rib pho was comforting and hearty -- definitely one of those bowls you just keep going back to. For drinks we tried the Ocean Pacific (which honestly tasted like candy... and I mean that in the best way possible because I love sweet drinks) and their strawberry lemonade, which was super refreshing. Service was good and the place was packed -- like everyone and their mama was out today. But honestly that's always a good sign when a spot is busy like that. Conveniently located close to CSUF, you will find the most savory Vietnamese / Peruvian food. I've had their appetizers before and they were solid. Service: courteous and efficient. They seated my bf and I quickly and we ordered shortly after. The restaurant seemed to have more Vietnamese dishes on their menu. On my last visit, I had their lomo saltado. I was pleasantly surprised of how perfectly balanced this dish was, not too salty and not too saucy. The fries were crunchy, even with the sauce all over it and the meat was tender and dissolved quickly. I love not chewing meat for more than a minute, so I appreciate the tenderness. The shaken beef rice bowl was so good! The flavors were delicious, and I loved how the sauce soaked into the rice at the bottom...it made every bite even better. My friend and I came here after work and it was full, but we were still able to get seated right away! It was a pretty small restaurant and was fully decorated with Viet decor and I loved that you just get hit with the smell of pho the second you walk in LOL. We started with the spicy wontons, which looked very unassuming and bland, but was actually my favorite part of the meal! It was pretty spicy since they used birdseye chilis and the flavor was savory and fragrant. For the main, I got the garlic noodles with ribeye. The garlic noodles were actually a bit on the bland side because they only seemed to use dried garlic, and there wasn't any sauce on the noodles. The steak was really good though and so was the green sauce, though I wish it had a little kick to it. I tried some of my friends lomo saltado, and it was good! The service was quick, we were seated immediately with the only available table. The menu was simple, they have their best entrée and appetizers. We were in the neighborhood running an errand and chanced upon this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We ordered chicken wings with fish sauce, lomo saltado, pho with beef belly and the soft shell crab curry. First off, the chicken wings take 15-20 min to fry so we were told would not be coming out as our appetizer. We said it was fine and to just bring it out whenever it was done. Our entrees started to arrive starting with the pho. The broth was clear but a little on the sweet side. Pure Northern style pho, where pho originates from, tends to be more savory than sweet. But this one was passable at least. Noodles were abundant and there was a decent amount of thin beef belly strips. Next came the lomo saltado which was pretty traditional with its beef cubes seared on the wok with onions, bell peppers and fries. The green sauce on the side was good. The third dish was the soft shell crab curry. I would have to say this was my least favorite entree. Two fried soft shell crabs came with a scoop of rice and the curry was served on the side in a bowl. The curry was too watery and only came with a few small pieces of potatoes and a flurry of onion wedges. It definitely lacked the velvety consistency to dip or coat the crab with. It also lacked the punch of spices one would expect in a curry. I would not order this dish again. Lastly, the chicken wings came out and thankfully made up for the poor curry. They were large roaster wing sections- crispy with a very light drizzle of the caramelized fish sauce and fried garlic tidbits. A good starter had it come out sooner. Some comments about the service- we asked for a water refill and it took a while to get it. The waiter was walking around but just didn't remember to bring it to us. Finally we had to ask another server to get it. The music playlist was also purely straight Adèle the whole time, if you like Adèle... Overall I'd say our meal was fairly good. There were a few dishes I had my eye on-garlic noodles and pho oxtail. Unfortunately, they were out of the pho oxtail so I got pho short ribs. My boyfriend ordered Shaken Beef garlic noodles. This is a Vietnamese/Peruvian fusion restaurant with some interesting items on the menu. We ordered crispy eggrolls as an appetizer and I ordered the lomo saltado as my main dish. The eggrolls came out first and a few minutes later my friend's lunch came out and mine about five minutes after that. The timing was a bit off. The eggrolls were very good, filled with ground pork, mushrooms, carrots, taro, and glass noodles. My lomo saltado consisted of plentiful pieces of tender filet mignon, red onion, tomato, and french fries. It normally comes with bell peppers too but I asked not to have those added as I'm not a fan. The beef was excellent quality and the chunks of tomato were juicy and flavorful. The crinkle fries were covered in a sauce which had hardened and made them delightfully crisp. It was a unique spin on traditional lomo saltado while not straying too far from the spirit of the legendary Peruvian dish. Located in the same plaza as EOS fitness center! My boyfriend happened to spot this in the corner and was curious so after our gym session we went to check it out! Such a nice surprise to find a asian fusion restaurant! The ambiance was very cute and cozy but not so much space to dine in so expect it to get pretty busy! I think the hospitality was great. I was feeling sick when we got there and they kept asking if everything was ok. It was most likely asking about the food, but being the center of the universe I thought they were asking about me Jokes aside they gave great service but didn't really refill our waters at all. Took my grandma here for dinner on a Sunday night at 5pm. It wasn't crazy busy, we probably waited 10-15min for a table. I noticed that there were about 2-3 waiters for 14 total tables so I understood that service might be a bit slow. The food took a bit long to arrive, however the food was good (but forgettable). We ordered the garlic noodle with chicken, fried chicken wings, Thai tea, lomo saltado beef and the short rib pho. Overall the food was a solid 4/5, I thought the pho broth was slightly too salty but the flavor was good. The fries on the lomo saltado could be crispier but it doesn't take away from the taste. The Thai tea was too strong and had a bitter taste at the end, i couldn't finish it, but my husband liked it. The service is why this is a 4/5. My husband asked three times for extra noodles which was a bit odd since the noodles shouldn't take too long to just grab and go. When he has asked the 3rd time, the waiter handed him the extra noodles in less than 5min. By then, the soup had already gone cold. Again, I want to reiterate that there were only 2-3 waiters for the full 14 tables. Overall, this place is a solid 4/5. However, I probably wouldn't make the effort to come here if Sup Noodle Bar is closer to me. It's hard not to compare this to Sup Noodle Bar as there is so much overlap in the menu. To start off, the service was not the best at all with the staff barely attending our table taking our orders, they were looking at us a lot because they knew the food was taking forever. I think our food came out 45 mins-1 hours after we ordered. Worse part they came out at different times but with a huge gap. The Lomo Saltados came out way earlier than the pho. I thought the pho would easily come out quicker, isn't it prepped hours in advance? Staff was loving the full house and were taking those vids for social media but all of us were starving for food. As for the food, I got the filet mignon pho which was pretty good! We ordered more noodles because it was unlimited and the waiter didn't seem like he wanted to get it. All of us at the end of the table were like what the and then they were undercooked and hard. We didn't even finish them and our group left unsatisfied. Doesn't makes sense to be open late if the staff can't handle it they are understaffed, I just wanted to go back and help cook myself lol. The boyfriend and I came here after a concert at Honda Center on Saturday night, about 10pm. It wasn't busy, maybe 3-4 other parties were seated, but only one gentleman waiting, so we kept that in mind when waiting. It wasn't loud and we could hear our conversation, which is always a plus. Had stumbled across this place as I was looking for more places in OC to add to my "want to try' collection. After running a 2k, let alone a rainy week, me and 2 other friends decided to check this place out. While getting pho was something that would've been good, we wanted to try other things we might not normally get Here's what we ordered: Chicken Wings - on the menu it mentioned it was garlic tossed with their special house sauce which has a base of fish sauce in it. When it came to our table, it was blisteringly hot out of the fryer. I think it could stay to be tossed in the sauce a bit more or be made a bit more viscous y, maybe honey. The first piece i had; I barely noticed any sauce. The 2nd I deliberately tossed it at the bottom of the bowl. I could then take the house sauce they were talking about. It's great fried chicken regardless and I think worth the price. Lomo saltado - The first dish that came to our table and I would say it doesn't disappoint. The beef used was succulent and tender and the cilantro sauce (aji verde) was done well to meld the flavors of the ingredients together. The dish itself had a good amount of breath of wok to it, but I would say that this lomo saltado was on the tad oilier side for me compared to others. Soft shelled Crab Curry - curious about their other specialties, we settled on the crab curry and I think it was somewhat lacking in the fragrance of the curry itself. I think if we were able to impart some more crab umami into the curry and then that'll give it more of an identity. It does come with a wedge of lime; however, I would say that having it before and after that the lime should be used sparingly. The presentation is nicely done though. Ribeye garlic noodles - I would say this was likely the weakest of the dishes we ordered. While i don't recall ever having garlic noodles before, the impression i got was that it was garlic slices fried in oil, after crisping up they were taken out and the noodles were tossed in. I think the attempt was to aim for a more organic flavor profile, but I also think that the aji verde sauce that came with it also stole the show here. It honestly felt like i was just eating tallarin saltado without the peppers. Upon entering, it's a small but cozy environment all in all. The interior decoration was purposefully done, to not only set it apart from the original space, but invite a homey aesthetic where it would be a good night with friends or a date. In my head, i remembered it being having more earthy tones but I'll let the photo dictate that. Parking is readily available as it's situated in a normal plaza with plenty of parking. Might be hard to find during peak times when folks are going to the EoS gym. I would say I would have to give it to their meat vendor as the meat quality here is great. I'll need to come back another time to try out their pho offerings too. read more

I wish I lived closer because this place was really good. It's a cozy little spot and it smells so good as soon as you walk in. We were all happy with our dishes. I got the Shaken Beef noodles with a side of prawns. The noodles were so flavorful! Our table also got the Lomo Saltado, Calamari, and the Tofu spring rolls. read more

My partner and I ordered the jumbo prawn saltado and the jumbo prawn garlic noodle, and they were both delicious and warm. The fries in the saltado tasted pretty good. They gave enough shrimp for both dishes. The waiters were very welcoming, and the restaurant was very clean. I will come back when I'm in the area again! read more

What a fun place to go for a dinner out. We ordered the beef rice bowl, beef pho, the spring roll shrimp appetizer, and cucumber salad. The cucumber salad was probably my least favorite as it was obviously not marinated. The rest was so great though. Flavorful broth in the pho and flavorful meat in the rice bowl. Large servings as well. We also enjoyed the service, friendly and seated quick. Also open to giving extra plates and bowls for sharing which is nice! read more
