Read up about it during my search for some locally made popcorn for a present for my friend who always raves about it. Thought it was going to be some sort of trendy environment from what I could find online, but in person I found out it could not be any more different. When I finished at Oliver's, I felt like I was supporting local products, getting better products for myself, and being a part of an extremely friendly community. The store had an amazing selection of everything you could ask for. Don't let its initiatives for health, environment, and locality keep you from realizing it's as well-fit for everybody as any grocery store. Come here for grocery shopping and you'll find everything you'll find at another. The best part is that most things are labeled (gluten-free, organic, local, etc.). It really helps customers find what they want and helps customers feel like they're contributing to the local economy. The prices might be a little bumped up, but the product selection is different. You won't find a collection of such diverse items from hot sauces, to imported goods, to produce, to beer, and more anywhere else. I went in on Thursday at 420 and waited in line at the taqueria. I had my forms filled out like i usually do for our burrito order. I hand my forms to the guy and he snaps at me that those are the old forms. You need the new forms. I said okay. And again he snaps and says you'll have to wait a bit those are the old forms and the prices have gone up so you'll have to wait. Such a cute place to go. I was in town and I was looking for a place to grab dessert for my friends birthday. After asking a few people this place came highly recommended. I immediately drove over to check it out and to grab some dessert. It reminded me a lot of the delis that you often see in New York and on Long Island. There was so much to choose from. I only explored the bakery area but could tell that there was a ton of fresh produce as well. Bakery has everything you could ever want. Do not attempt to shop here if you have a service dog. I saw the store manager harrassing a shopper for having a service dog in the store. The store manager in Cotati demanded proof that the dog is a service dog. The customer said that he knew his rights and could not be required to divulge that information because it would also divulge his ailment, the store manager simply said "I do not believe you". Love it here! I come all the time for random snacks or even just to walk around (pre-covid). The staff is always friendly and very helpful, and I think they continue to do a great job despite of covid. The prices aren't bad, and I think they do a good job of Serving a diverse population. read more

This is a great place to get great desserts from napoleons to princess cake, and fried chicken, taco salad they have a huge salad bar with all kinds of wonderful goodies to put on your salad, plus they will make you fresh sushi I just found that out from Giovanni thanks sandwiches and gourmet cheeses fresh fruits and vegetables and all kinds of fantastic wines and champagne and a great seafood Dept, I absolutely love going there and grabbing a few crabs and Invite a few friends over and grab a few bottles and you have a major league party and super happy happy people it's a crowd pleaser for sure! I don't know about you but I bought three premade dinners and a burrito there last week and it came to $49. If I would've bought the same thing at Safeway it would've cost $29. What you're paying for here at Olivers is the fact that you're shopping at Olivers which which is supposed to make you feel special, Because you're paying eye prices. Higher prices than normal. I guess that's the gimmick. Well the store is beautifully laid out, and it's easy to get help from an employee, friendly employee at that, it's just not worth the astronomical price tag that you're going to pay when you check out. I used to love Oliver's They have a nice selection of specialty foods and organic produce. They are very well staffed so even when it's busy you can move through lines relatively quickly. I feel like Oliver's is the locals WHole Foods now that WF is a conglomeration. It's delicious, relatively fresh, and expensive. I hate that I have to do so much of my shopping here because this was always my special occasion grocery store back in Windsor. I shopped primarily at Raley's even though I didn't love it. The Oliver's in Cotati is friendly but often has questionable fruit close to expiring. Especially watermelon towards the end of its season because it's hard to tell when they're sludge inside but I got a few of those this season. I was pregnant and eating 1 a week and boy did i get some bad ones. I know Oliver's, and most stores, will take back food if it's bad but I was pregnant and barely getting to the store as it is. The seafood/meat area smells so bad in this store, I don't know what it is but I have a VERY rough time walking by. I'll never understand why they do not make enough chorizo burritos in the morning at Oliver's. Clearly it is the most popular breakfast burrito they offer but they never seem to have any out there, just a crap ton of bacon and sausage ones that clearly nobody wants because the bacon is undercooked and the sausage chunks are huge. I was so optimistic this morning, but as per usual, they were already sold out at 7:45. I love that when people move out of Sonoma County, often what they say they miss the most is being able to shop at Olivers! This is a really nice supermarket with an incredible produce selection, A really great bulk food area, lots and lots of gourmet items, specialty items, amazing seasonal items, friendly staff, very helpful and informative. Do they cost more than other grocery stores? Yes. But I'm okay with that because I think they are doing great things for the store and for their employees. I really love their salad bar as well, and their deli makes some of the best sandwiches. They have lots of specialty natural items and a great selection for gift giving as well. They have a really extensive cheese selection and usually a devoted staff member who is happy to help you make the perfect selection and you are also able to sample some items. Honeynut squash on the west coast!?! Thank you, Oliver's! These are a creation of chef Dan Barber (Blue Hill) and Cornell seed breeder Michael Mazourek. Imagine a butternut squash with a super concentrated squash flavor. The squashiest squash you'll ever taste. They're becoming more common at farmers' markets on the east coast, but I've never been able to find them on the west coast. Until today - at Olivers! I was encouraged to go here, as locals say it is "better than Whole Foods." So I was excited. But to my disappointment, the prices are similar to Whole Foods, no cheaper and the selection is not as extensive. Nonetheless, it is an awesome grocery store that offers a variety of natural, whole and plant-based products. However, I was particularly disappointed with the pre-packaged juice selections. Another positive is the pumpkin, corn, lemongrass soup. It was in the refrigerated section and I was skeptical about the flavor, especially since I had eaten the brussel sprouts, quinoa and cranberry salad from the cooked-in-store case and was deeply craving any kind of seasoning. This is the 3rd time that we have ordered a Super Burrito from Oliver's Market in Cotati. For some reason, the sour cream seems to always be missing! This time, we paid for a large super burrito and both the sour cream and guacamole were missing!!! Sorry, but despite having to drive back from Sebastopol to Cotati, I wanted to get my $12.01 ($10.99 plus tax) back and let your employee-owned store know that you need to do a better job! They make great fried chicken, not too salty like others. Great hot to go dishes, salads, and soups. I love that they have deviled eggs! Who has the time. The grocery store has plenty to offer along with its own bakery, cheese department where someone is there to help you. This is an adorable little market in the middle of what is apparently a verizon wireless dead-zone bc I had no reception, no gps, no nothing and was forced to pull over, park, and come in to see if they have wifi. They do! This market is vibrant and fresh as heck. The fruit & veggie selection was beautiful and they carry a number of meal-inspiring specialty items. Some of those specialty or luxury items will cost you a pretty penny- like the $9 little tub of strawberries, but yeah, they're beautiful and they were washed with the stems cut off and as I heard a woman remark how ridiculous it would be to pay that, I didn't disagree... but it also made me want that tub of super model strawberries like nobody's business. The staff were great, the lines moved quickly, and the customers somehow seemed more "normal" than the customers at my local grocery store. As a local Sonoma County vegan, this is my go-to grocery store. They have some GREAT vegan and vegetarian options. I also try to do as much low-waste shopping as possible. They do have paper bags and some low-waste options in-store. Everyone there is always kind and helpful. They also have great fresh soups! The bakery with its cakes and other treats is of the best in the area. The cheese selection is incredible. The organic and non produce is all beautiful and fresh. I went here last weekend for a few quick items. Oliver's grocery store is bright and designed just about like other grocery stores. Crowded. I think it's employee owned. The Cotati/Rohnert Park was their premiere store. I really like how many aisles show off Sonoma County merchandise & sales. Keeping it local is a fav of mine. I always can pay a few cents more for local. I miss Vallarga's in Napa, which closed a few months back. It would be lovely to have an Oliver's store in Napa. Just sayin '. read more

I like Olivers market I live in Penngrove and I drive through to the Cotati one. They have a nice variety of things they have a nice deli area food to go bakery you do have to be careful with some of the produce though really check it it's normally good but sometimes I don't know if it's a rotation or what the produce department can do a little bit better I've gotten bad fruits and vegetables quite often in there but I just return it or bring my receipt and they take care of me. Just check when you're buying the fruits and vegetables. I am updating my review because I received a professional apology from an Oliver's customer service associate, as well as an informative explanation about their labeling process. I didn't take them up on a refund, though, because I'm too lazy to drive to Cotati, but it should be noted that they have a pretty easy return policy from my past experience. Apparently they put a new label on the products that go on sale and the one I received didn't reflect the original date. I'll take their word for it because mistakes happen everywhere. read more

Stopped by end of last month for the first time to try their taqueria out as I'd seen many advertisements and a $1 discount to try them out. The ingredients in their pictures looked amazing and when a very polite gentleman named Dave made my burrito he confirmed my late request of no sour cream, I appreciated that. Got home, split it with my wife and we both were taken aback at the quality of the ingredients, steak, etc. Even had leftovers for tomorrow. HIGHLY recommended Yesterday I tried their delis special, the smoke stack sandwich. The young lady who took my order apologized that they are out of the Buffalo chicken but she suggested the jerk turkey with all the normal sandwich sauces. I appreciated her suggestion and again, absolutely loved the sandwich! I tried seeing her name on her badge but felt uncomfortable trying to keep seeing it, but she had a red/white mask on and again, was excellent in her service and attitude!
