I like shopping here a lot. However, all the baked goods use SOY bean oil. So sad, they cannot up their game and use a better oil as so many of us are highly allergic to SOY. Looking for the best tri tip sandwich in the area! I was recommended to try the Friday BBQ tri tip at Olivers! I received excellent customer service from Jake outside at the BBQ stand! The tri tip sandwich was huge! I will be able to have 2 meals! The meat was delicious and tender, the bread was nice and soft. I added some lettuce, white onions, and jalapeños! Oliver's Market is a Sonoma County staple. They have a lot of local options as well as many made to order areas including sushi, taqueria, deli with a wide selection of fresh items, hot bar, smoothie bar, desserts and pastries. I always know where to go when I'm in a hurry and need a quick meal... Oliver's is the answer. I love the focus on local and know when I shop at Oliver's I am also helping the community too. In addition to their made to order areas, I love the wine and cheese selection. They also have a nice gift selection and so many cards to choose from for all occasions. They also have a nice beauty area in the middle of the store. A lot of the products are natural or organic, which you can't go wrong with! The seafood and meat counter seems to be larger than your average grocery store. The butchers know their stuff too and they also have a wide selection of items. I love Oliver's Market. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly there. I enjoy the produce section and of course the bakery is amazing! The coffees and lattes are dreamy! I enjoy dropping in at times and getting pre packed meals sometimes and they have several vegan options as well as soups cold or hot. I also love the card section and the gift section they have quite the variety. Let's not forget about health and wellness either, they have lovely folks there and a wide variety of products to choose from. The deli and cheese section are very fast and efficient. Oliver's is a fabulous local market in Sonoma County. I typically shop at the newer Windsor location but had to be in Cotati today. This Cotati location is a little dated in appearance but is just as well stocked with all your grocery needs including many favorite local products: Cookie...Take A Bite cookies, Sonoma Creamery cheese crisps, local cheeses, wines, coffees... The store is clean and inviting. Oliver's prides itself on taking good care of its employees, and in return the employees are extremely friendly, kind, and helpful, taking good caring of the customers. A winning formula! read more

Deli food is great. quality is great. Only real bummer is it's very inconsistent in regards to portion sizes which makes it difficult to gauge every time you want to get lunch. Some days they'll give you a decent sized sandwich and the next they'll use a slice of each ingredient and give you the world's smallest sammy. They typically get pretty busy so if you want to get lunch, you probably want to plan at least an hour ahead of time. Deli staff is relatively chill. They have some employees that kind of have a weird attitude sometimes but hey what place doesn't. All in all get your sandwich make sure you check it because sometimes they'll wrap it with a lot of paper and napkins so it seems a lot bigger than it really is and if it happens to be one of the smaller ones supplement with a smoothie.. at least that's what I do! read more

It was a beautiful store but I got all of mix with mushrooms out of their olive bar and it just didn't taste right and also I got shepherd's pie and it was horrible. We also tried the teriyaki chicken bowl with rice and it was very awful we had to throw it away. We went up to the Russian River with food and didn't like much of the food we got. Happened to be in the area and wanted a quick lunch. Thought about the deli in this market. As we are in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, appreciate that the market assigned one person to control the capacity of the facility and assured that the shopping baskets were sanitized. The deli is just by the entrance. There are many different sandwiches to choose from and many options to customize the sandwiches. For this visit, I ordered a boar's head roast beef sandwich on a soft wheat roll and a black forest ham on a dutch crunch roll. There are many cheese, condiment, and variety of fresh item to choose from. Both sandwiches were made to perfection with fresh quality ingredients; the dutch crunch roll was especially good. First and foremost, I am not an avid Oliver's shopper, but this store lives up to their reputation hands down. I have visited this store numerous time and each time very impressed, not only by their employees, but also the amount of stock they have at relatively good prices. I can see why they give Whole Foods a run for their money. I really wish the small chain was closer to where I live as I could see myself shopping their more, but at least I have one close to my work. As for the store itself, everything is laid out in a reasonably easy fashion in terms of item placement. Falling back on the employee comment, each time I have had questions, they take their time walking me to the items that I needed (Quality customer service). I went into the bakery at 11am to order a cake for the following day at 5 pm. The clerk informed me I couldn't order a cake unless I give them 72 hours notice. They had numerous cakes in the counter, bit at no time did they offer to decorate one of those for me. In fact he said in order to get a Birthday, decorated cake, I needed to call in the morning, see what cakes were baked and get one of those. I asked, What cakes are you baking in the morning? He said, I don't know." I asked again, "how many are you baking?" He asked the person behind him(I assume his mgr.) and came back with, "I don't know." I was stunned. Really, you're going to bake, but you won't bake one for me? They had no interest in helping me at all. Maybe Oliver's is a little full of themselves. I left, and drove over to El Paso Bakery, on Ol Redwood Hwy, not more than 4 minutes away. There I found a friendly person who said, "No problem"and took my order. That's what I call service. Cause I'm giving Oliver's two stars, and the two stars are for their selection of food and wonderful produce. They would've gotten five stars but their employees are EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. This doesn't pertain to all of their employees, but on a whole every time I go there I've been bumped into you and bypassed by one of their employees without so much as an "excuse me." Instead, they stare at you blankly like you've got 10 heads! There have been a couple people that have been very polite, but on a hole I am feel wing like I walk on eggshells when I go in there, because they are not friendly and accommodating. Most of the employees act as though you were disrupting their day. It's a shame, because this place is in walking distance from my home and very convenient but I rather drive to Rhonert Park, or Petaluma to do my shopping from now on. I love this store for their Seafood, produce, and meat department. They are simply the best in every way! I don't normally leave reviews, but today I had the nicest experience with my cashier at the Cotati store. I had my infant and toddler with me and my cashier Elendrill (not sure if that's spelled right) came around to help me unload my cart and started chatting with my 6 year old about being a big brother. She was so friendly and helpful . Another employee (I didn't get his name ) then jumped in to start ringing up items and then started bagging when she came back. I can't remember the last time I've had such a nice grocery experience with my two kids. Oliver's Markets are my favorite stores to shop in Sonoma County. The atmosphere is awesome. Staff is helpful. Store is clean. The produce is some of the best around--always fresh. The cakes from their bakery are the best around. We get cakes there for every occasion in our family. People think the prices in the store are too high. You definitely get what you pay for. And Oliver's offers items on sale just like other grocery stores and a wide variety of brands to choose from. This store used to be the best place ever. I would sing its praises from the mountain tops. Since COVID, this place has gone down the toilet in a huge way. 75% of the time they don't monitor the door even though they tout they do. Social distancing is not enforced inside at all. Selling rotten meat and not caring when brought to their attention, spoiled fruit and veggies. The only thing that has increased is their prices. +20% on certain items. Prices have sky rocketed and what they offer have gone down. I would say this is Whole Food prices and FoodMax quality. I'm sick of buying meat/produce just to have it go bad within 24 hours. Edit: Oh, I also have called several times on this. They don't care. I called about moldy strawberries just before this and I got bounced between 4 wrong departments and just put on hold. A picnic lunch pre-made for a winery or the River or the beach! From wraps, salads, sammies, this is no Safeway deli, your taste buds will thank me. The best locally sourced meat, fish, oysters! I often get analysis paralysis when trying to determine where to bring or what to cook for out of towners. I almost always end up here because the food quality is amazing. Just yesterday, scored amazing bbq oysters for the beach! The best produce anywhere. So good they'll clean and cut you a sample if you'd like to try before you buy. Ranch. I will never eat ranch again as I did as a child. Hidden Valley is the name and it has no game! Oliver's makes their own bottled dressings in house, the ranch goes fast. For good reason. Absolutely the best grocery market of all time. Easily the best in Sonoma County! This is always my go to store, forget Safeway, Whole Foods, or anything else. This may seem like a fancier food store like Whole Foods to some, and while they have a lot of specialty items like Whole Foods, they do not have the same price tag. There are a few exceptions to that, but for anything too pricey we just go somewhere else. They have the greatest produce section, almost anything you could think of, they will have it. Everything is always great quality. They have a wonderful deli and prepared foods section. The hot bar always has yummy options and they have packaged options so you can take home and heat up later. Almost everything we've tried from their prepared foods is great. The salad bar is massive, literally any topping you want or could think of. Lots of different salad greens, dressings, and for a great price. The soup bar is great as well! They make killer soups, the potato leek and the white bean and kale are some of our favorites. My boyfriend and I also love the taqueria, can't go wrong with anything from there. Also if you like artisan cheeses, you'll freak. Lol I am not a huge cheese fan myself but my boyfriend and his family are so they love the cheese section. Also if you are a cheese newbie like me, they have people there to answer any question you may have. They can even cut pieces off for you to try, and change size of any block of cheese to a smaller size if you only needed a small amount. The meat department is fantastic as well, they always have great deals and the meat quality in comparison to other meat departments we have visited, is MUCH better. Also they always get fresh crabs around the season and man, you should see the lines lol! Insane! Obviously I could keep going, they pretty much got it all! A bakery, coffee and smoothie bar, a health and beauty section with a ton of lovely products, and so much more! Also they do bbq in the summer/warmer months and it's insanely good! Oliver's has always been an all time favorite of mine. Locally owned and owned by the employees themselves. I know the employees love working here because I've seen the same ones over and over again for years and years. The Cotati location has always been a favorite of mine. The Stony point location seems to have to many young employees it's hard to keep track. The Montecito location is a claustrophobic disaster and I stay away al all cost! Cotati has this cute funky vibe that I love so much. Oliver's has fresh local produce. Granted , it's a pricey store. You do get what you pay for.
