Online order
John G.

We love and try to support this local market as we live just a few blocks away. They have a premium deli and meat/fish market. With that being said, then gentleman with glasses and a ponytail who runs the deli is horrible. Today, July 12th, we placed an online order for sandwiches for our entire family at about 9:30 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. pickup. When I got to the store and asked about my order, the man looked at me like I was confused. Then, he tapped the screen behind him and said the system was "down". He did ask if he could make the sandwiches now, but he has serviced me before, and it would have taken him 30 minutes to make 4 sandwiches, if you're lucky enough to get his attention. In any event, I diverted and bought pre-made sandwiches to save time. When I checked out, I told the checker about my online order, and he mentioned that to be standard. Honestly, this is all just a shame since you have great food, but a crappy online system and a deli employee who, let's be honest, hates or appears to either hate his job or the customers. Well, till next time, which is never!

The business hours are not up to date on their website or online

Not only is it wildly overpriced, but the hours are not up to date anywhere. I live in the neighborhood and went to pick up some last minute ingredients for a dinner tonight for not to find locked doors. There was a man in a car who had the same issue and was very upset as well The last time I was here, the employees at the deli, were openly talking about the wages of the employees at the meat counter and saying how they don't do anything. I found this to be really odd, especially since I was waiting to just ask a question. All in all, I think I'm done here. Based on their prices, I'm not sure if they need my money or not but based on their service, they aren't getting it

Tri-tip dinner I bought for my wife as a treat. The cost was excellent for what was included in this prepped meal.

Dark wood paneling with leather booths and tables. It's located in a shared space with the hotel next door. Hubby & I came for breakfast around 8:30am Wednesday. Found street parking in front. Bagels and lox are house made. Both hubby & I enjoyed what we ordered. * hubby had the Routine - choice of bread. * I had the Brooklyn bagel sandwich - choice of bagel, lox, and schmear. House drip coffee was excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. Located in Santa Rosa's historic railroad district.

After our mini vacation in Sonoma, we made a detour to Santa Rosa for a quick lunch before heading home. On a Thursday we parked right in front of the restaurant around noon. Sitting outside under the umbrella on a warm day was pleasant. After indulging for three days we decided to go lighter by sharing a Reuben and a Middle Eastern salad. I ate most of the sandwich, wife ate most of the salad. Both of us were very satisfied with the food and service. Compared to several of the fancier dinners we had at Sonoma Square, I actually enjoyed this meal the most. So glad we came and we shall return when the opportunity arises

So as we were making our way home from Windsor,my buddy told me about this deli that was described…read moreby some as the most authentic deli in the area, which is saying a lot considering how close we were to "wine country" So we decided to stop and at first glance from the outside it doesn't seem like much but once you walk in,you get that feel that your meal is about to be spectacular. The place had all the feels of an authentic Italian deli-I could not wait to get my hands on one of these sandwiches. I was torn between going with my usual at any Italian deli which is just a classic Italian but for some reason,I've been on a tri-tip vibe for a while and I saw they had BBQ tri-tip on the menu so I just went with that-I added pepper jack to my sandwich.($17.94) It wasn't very busy when we ordered so the food didn't take long, maybe a 6 or 7 minute wait and our food was in front of us. This deli is interesting in that they do a lot of stuff in-house including homemade chips and we had some-so tasty-great addition to our meal. They also have a pretty extensive freezer section with homemade pastas and sauces that a customer can take home to prepare at a later date. So let's talk about the BBQ tri-tip sandwich. It's always wonderful when you run into a small business that just truly excels at their craft and I feel Canevari Deli is one of those places. They made this sandwich so well, excellent balance of meat, cheese, bread and condiments. It was a job well done. I'm having really good luck lately of finding amazing restaurants that are out of town and unfortunately Canevaris is one of those places-this is the type of place that if it was near me I would go there every week, the people who live in Santa Rosa are quite lucky to have such a great deli so close to them daily. In closing ,if you find yourself in the Santa Rosa area and you want to help support a true local business, stop by Canevaris and enjoy yourself one of their daily offerings-I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience.

Sandwiches were good, but they unfortunately ran out of the bread we were hoping for Eggs were good - wish there were more! HUGE portions, fresh ingredients, and great service!…read more We ordered sandwiches to take on a hike, and they were perfect. Favorite is the Wedding soup. The portions were so generous we easily could have shared one. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The chipotle chicken sandwich was excellent. Fresh bread, good balance of flavor, and very satisfying. You can tell they put real effort into the food. Great spot for takeout, catering, or a casual lunch outside at the tables with friendly locals and tenants, I will definitely be back.

We'd been around before, but most times ended up next door getting mediocre bagels. I'm so glad this time we ended up here! We placed our order for two gyros, and had some pastries to eat while we waited. Mine was so good, I absolutely scarfed it down. The filo crust and walnuts were really tasty and it helped stabilize my blood sugar while I waited for lunch. While waiting I needed to use the bathroom, which ended up being very weird, I needed to trek far and around, go through a secret door with another passcode and another locked door, and had to be let in by staff. Interesting. Also made me miss the retro diner that used to be in this block with amazing malts. Anyway, back to the food. Once I was back, our gyros were ready and they were gorgeous. Mine was in a wheat pita and I asked for extra hummus. His was lamb on white pita and we both tore into them. Baby had some yogurt sauce and some gyro meat and she loved it too! Hubs said it was the best gyro in the county, which is high praise because if gyro's on the menu, he gets it. He reminisces about his time in Greece and is always chasing that illusive perfect pita gyro. Now that we know gyro perfection is here, you better believe we're going to be back. Id so much rather do local business than go to Nick the Greek or some other chain. Even if it does mean having a secret handshake to get into the bathroom club...still worth it. Prices are average, quality is good, portions are generous, and parking is easy and free onsite. Only downside is the bathroom situation so better make sure you go before you leave home or work if you're headed here.
