yummy strawberry sheet cake!

Safeway has the best sheet cake. It's our favorite! Be sure to ask for real strawberry slices in the filling with jam and custard. The cake is soft and fluffy with delicious whipped topping. We love it so much we buy it plain-no decorations even when there's no occasion to celebrate!

Over cooked wings from deli, where was quality control today. They're not even edible

Why do I keep ordering from this place? Not consistent prepared foods, food delivered on Sat June 29 for the last order.

I really shouldn't expect much from Safeway hot foods but we were in a hurry on the 4th when we realized the deli sandwiches was closed. We got a good order of chicken nuggets instead and potatoe wedges. Once we got to eating our meal, the nuggets were still warm but tasted dry and horrible. Not even our 5 year old ate it. Huge waste of $20. The wedges were ok but also a bit dry. Just sharing the experience to set realistic expectations for others lol.

They're selling Marzipan that expired pre-pandemic. Disappointing getting home to find it was hard as a rock :(. They get three stars for having Marin Kombucha and being open until 1AM though.

Safeway- Santa Rosa on Mendocino Avenue. Filthy restroom in POOR condition!

Safeway- Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa California Hmmmm.... Safeway. Who rates a Safeway, right? I mean, we shop and we leave. So this review is to try to HELP the management at this Safeway realize that changes must be made to improve the customer experience AND really more importantly, to improve health standards at the store! Markets- sure they are not exactly viewed on the same plane as restaurants. And yet we know many markets have in-house prepared food at a bakery, butcher, deli, etc. This particular Safeway does prepare a variety of in-house food options. Which brings me to my concern. This Safeway underwent a renovation and looked quite good inside. Clean looking and modern departments inside. So imagine when I decided to visit the facilities...and felt like I was somehow sucked into some Grimm Bros nightmare!! (As they say... pictures ARE worth a thousand words) The men's room was an absolute shock! It's as if it somehow managed to escape BEFORE it could be renovated! It was not only filthy...heck, filthy could actually happen at any time. The restroom was in total disrepair AND it was filthy!! So now I get that this is a fairly busy store. I get that there is a pretty large homeless contingent that lands here and spends large amounts of time in the store...but there is really no excuse to have such a wreck of a facility that families and children may use!! There were signs of long term neglect all around. And signs of a need for a DEEP clean and repairing and replacing of a variety of fixtures. The REAL shocker to me is that there is NO other restroom for employees. This means that we have to assume the Safeway employees and worse yet Safeway management actually uses this filthy restroom!! Wha? The store manager thinks this is okay? What about the general manager or regional manager? Don't they ever see this for themselves?? What do these photos of the Safeway restroom say about food safety and handling? After all, we not only buy most of our produce and other food from markets like Safeway, but what of the in-store bakery, the sandwiches, the sushi? What about the in store Starbucks?? Chances are the employees serving your "hot and fresh" are using this disgusting restroom to "clean up!" Ewwwww. Dear Safeway manager-please please invest some renovation money into repairing AND cleaning the Mendocino Ave Safeway restrooms in Santa Rosa California! Your customers deserve better!

New policies, new security measures.

Many many things have happened here. But today I seen a new policy in effective. And as a paying customer I felt rushed and couldn't get an experience I wanted. Plus the staffing is low especially in the deli and hot food section. Honestly, I never go here.

When I…read moredo visit, I usually get their English-style scones for afternoon tea with my friend and desserts for birthdays. I really like their tiramisu and actually came by just yesterday for their Tiramisù Friday deal. My friend loves it too, so I'm getting it again this time for her birthday. They also have frozen, ready-to-bake croissants and other pastries, which is pretty nice. I personally prefer freshly baked goods instead of just reheated ones. I didn't take any pictures, but I did check out the produce section and they have a great selection of organic vegetables with really good quality. I also like their Amazon return service--very efficient and quick. Whole Foods is definitely on the pricier side, so I don't come here often, but they do offer a nice selection with solid quality overall.

I always have a pleasant experience shopping at the Whole Foods in Coddingtown Mall…read more I went in recently, specifically looking for the Mommenpop blood orange aperitif and spritz. They have both!!! And they have two other flavors of the spritz. Their wine and spirits section is well-stocked with lots of great local options. The employee working in that section stopped his conversation with another employee to guide me to both options. He told me about his favorite drink made with those drinks, which are made in Napa. And we chatted about the non-alcoholic options that WF stocks. I continued on my way to grab other groceries. Found organic produce, Del Real dates (the best! And the only dates I'll buy), and Perfect Bars. I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Oliver's is an employee owner chain that offers a lot of locally sourced produce, cheese, wines,…read morebaked goods. They offer a 10% Senior discount on Wednesdays and have a weekly ad plus specials that last for 3 months. They have an assortment of prepared food plus a deli, fish and meat counter. Here is a funny, tongue-in-cheek Yelp review for Oliver's Market (Montecito). I've incorporated the…read morespecific details you mentioned, plus a few "insider" positives (like the meat counter and local goods) This place is basically the clown car of grocery stores: tiny on the outside, but somehow contains an infinite universe of high-end cheese and local produce on the inside. The Good: If you need an obscure local goat cheese, a loaf of bread that sings to your soul, or produce that looks like it was polished by fairies, this is your spot. The prepared foods and hot bar are dangerous--I went in for milk and came out with a three-course dinner and a mortgage on a brisket. Also, the meat and seafood counter? Legitimately awesome. It's clean, well-stocked, and feels like a true neighborhood gem. The "Eh": Ah, the service. Classic Oliver's. It's that special brand of "meh" where they aren't mean, they're just... profoundly unbothered by your existence. They are employee-owners, which I guess means they own the right to not make eye contact. The Battle: Parking is technically "decent," which is code for "fine at 10 AM on a Tuesday, but a reenactment of Mad Max at 5 PM." The lot fills up faster than my cart in the wine aisle. Verdict: I will continue to fight for a parking spot and accept the indifferent service because the bread and cheese are just that good.

I really dislike going to Trade Joe's on santa Rosa Ave…read more The people working there stocking the shelves block isles and products while talking with each other instead of working. I watched a girl stand and talk about her life while she was supposed to be working. She very slowly broke down the box while she told her life story to a girl that was supposed to be stocking the shelves, of course the girl had to stop working to listen to her coworkers story. I as the customer have to go around them and the boxes or reach over them or just not get the items I need that they are blocking. I have witnessed 2 workers put up canned beans right next to each other. The same beans . According to management they encourage this. One manager named Ken said they like work to be fun. Excuse me , but this is work and people want to get in and out of the store as quickly as possible. Not wait for store employees to wait until their coworkers finish their conversation about their weekend plans or boyfriend problems and block the isle. Work is a job . They should use brake times to chat not get in customers way. We are paying alot for groceries these days and seems like Trader Joe's is waisting money our money when employees are not working efficiently and just treating work as a place to socialize.
