Great sour dough! Always fresh and delicious. Reminds me of my younger days in San Francisco.

This bakery has THE BEST French loaves in the area! That said, don't walk in expecting your typical bakery. This is a *working* bakery and, walking inside, you stand amidst all of the equipment that goes into baking. Yes you can walk in (not too far in, it's tiny). Yes you can buy breads (& pretzels). Yes it may take a few minutes as the Bakers will walk out from baking "in the back" to assist you in your purchase. Yes they have a cowbell. Yes you may just have to "ring" it over and over. And over again. No big deal. Just get your bread because the bread is what you're there for. I've been here 3 times since I moved to the area and I love it. The employees have all been nice and accommodating and attentive (once they're out front with you). Also. If I cannot get to the bakery I have to be sure to hit up our local Whole Foods store *early* because ....1. that's where I'll find their French loaf (I love that they supply our local WF w/their breads!); 2. their breads are so good that if I go any later than 10am (11am, latest!), the store will be out of our favorites! I definitely recommend this establishment for their high-quality breads! Go. You won't be disappointed. read more

Came in a couple weeks ago right at 6am, to my dismay they did not have any fresh bread. Nothing warm. Bought a loaf and some rolls and they were great but the fact that I'm arriving when you open and you have no freshly baked bread.... a bakery your not running things right. Wanted to do a 1 star but the quality of the cold bread is slightly above average so 2 stars. If you guys ever start baking bread in the mornings like the other bakeries I'd be delighted. read more

Let's talk bread. A beloved topic among many. I like mine chewy, I like mine crunchy, I like it crusty and I like it to slap me around and buy me a drink. Opps, I've said too much... I stumbled into this bakery one Saturday on the hunt for desserts, but instead came upon a mecca of bread-a. I stood there in awe for a minute and exited without purchase. I was dumbfounded. There's no sweet treat behind their door, but there's plenty of savory good - nay, greatness there. The loaves are true works of art. These would be the showpieces on tables in movies, in houses of nobles and in dreamscapes. They are browned and beautiful and waiting for you to take them home and have your way with them. I love a good toaster bread, as I always prefer my bread hot & crispy. Their sourdough does not anywhere in the ballpark of disappoint. In comparison to their neighboring competitor, Della, I would have to say this. It is just past the line of better. I love a dense bread, don't get me wrong, but there's just something to this Penngrove Perfection that just does it for me. I don't even need that drink after all ;) You can find them directly in Penngrove, or as I did, in Oliver's in Cotati. Surely to be seen in more places as they grow their Cult. I really want to like this bakery (I like their sourdough), but after having had multiple loaves go bad (aka covered in mold) after only 2 days, I'm tired of paying $5 for a loaf to only be able to eat a few slices and then into the compost. Yeah, I could my $5 loaf into the refrigerator, but anybody who knows anything about bread will realize that destroys the crust and generally wrecks the mouth feel of the bread, so why pay a premium only to have to trash it by putting it in the fridge so you can actually eat the entire loaf. I don't know how long bread sits at their facility before being transported to my local grocery store. I know that most (all) local bakeries manage their own inventories within the store(s), so I know it isn't the grocery store's fault that old product is being sold. Sorry Full Circle...you lost me as a customer after $25 of wasted product over the past couple of months. My money is better spent on bread ingredients for the bread machine. read more

Mind you, there are other great bakers besides Full Circle. Cyrus/Healdsburg, One Market/SF, Cafe Beaujolais/Mendocino, Bouchon/Yountville - all four make absolutely magnificent breads. But the first two don't sell them, the third is a long long drive away, which leaves Bouchon but only if you're on the Napa side. We discovered Full Circle bread because we ate a couple of Yanni's Sausage Grill's sandwiches and thought the bread (pressed, generously spread with olive oil, and toasted) was simply magnificent. He directed us to Full Circle's wholesale/retail location (just down the street) and we were fortunate to get there early enough to find them open. Nobody was there although we called out, but we could tell wherever they had gone, they were away for just a few minutes. We went across to JavAmore Cafe to get some coffee, then came back in 15 min. and sure enough, someone was there to sell us some of that beautiful bread. They sell at farmers markets around the Petaluma/Santa Rosa area, and at one or two markets. Call them for information if you don't think you can make it to their bakery location before they close. If you were around to remember Specialtys of San Francisco's bread, back when they first started, they used freshly-ground grain to make their breads. It was moister and richer in flavor, truly remarkable bread. Full Circle's breads remind us of that, with an incredibly tender crumb and a good chewy crust that isn't hard or tough. Bread is all they sell - no muffins, no pastries. Just good, plain, honest bread, so incredibly fresh it begs for butter and cheese and salami and.....well, you get the idea. read more

Full Circle's breads had the potential to fill the all-organic flour niche vacated when Bennett Valley bread suddenly disappeared from Sonoma County markets. Unfortunately, Full Circle's products don't make the grade: their ultra-white baguette & spelt breads are totally bland, have poor texture and under-baked crusts, and go stale very fast, even in their paper bag (which I suspect is plastic-lined, a big mistake for maintaining freshness). I'd give this outfit only one star but for their "Multigrain," which is decent - and significantly better than a similar round loaf that Whole Foods sells under it's own label - but still very overpriced for some that's just adequate. Have to assume that all the five-start reviews come from friends of Full Circle's owner(s) or employees, or from folks who have never tried breads made by Acme Bakery (Berkeley), Tartine (SF) or Freestone Bakery (local), all of which produce really rich tasting, crusty and well-textured organic breads. These three competitors sell a far superior, less pricey alternative to any bread Full Circle makes. read more

This little bakery has become one of my regular stops when I'm in the area. Their sliced sourdough is a nice sandwich bread. Their baguette loaves (either French or Sourdough) are wonderful for dinner breads but also great for sub-sandwiches. On my last visit, I picked up a loaf of their cranberry-semolina bread. What a nice bread! Wonderful toasted but a few days later made a nice pain perdue. read more

I love their Spelt Bread, which they deliver to Olivers Markets. I eat almost no other bread because of a wheat sensitivity, but this bread is delicious and causes no issues with my digestive track. When I've stopped by there shop in Petaluma, they've always been helpful and friendly. read more

So flavorful. Good or bad this works for me. To preserve freshness for when I want a special piece of bread I freeze my fresh loaf as soon as I get it home and when the mood strikes it goes straight from the freezer to the toaster!!!!! Soooooogood. If I want a sandwich or use more slices I just take out what I need and let it thaw ahead of time in plastic bag. This way my bread lasts longer!! Great taste read more

Great bread but I don't understand why they don't use their great space in downtown Penngrove to better advantage. Their hours were very unpredictable for their first 6 mos- to one year, now their open 'till two o'clock pm. They should follow the model of Wildflower in Freestone with more variety , and maybe some pastries on the weekend. Great wholesale product, but a sad waste of a great retail space! read more

I use to like the bread but for the last couple of months the bread is burnt. Bread doesn't last long so make sure you freeze it or put it in the fridge. The bread is always sloppily put on the shelf at the store like they don't care. read more

Great local bakery! I've gone here two times already and i love it. The bread is delicious and made fresh, the staff is friendly and fun, and the sliced sourdough is the best I've had so far. But who am i kidding, about all of their different kinds of treats are awesome. I'd surely recommend it to anyone visiting Penngrove and the surrounding area. read more

They're at a couple of the local Sonoma County markets which is great, they are in the SR Farmer's Market on Wednesdays & on Saturdays. It's about $5.50 or so per bread. My favorite is the challah bread they make, which is probably the best in the county. I've had the Village Bakery one and it's not as great - - although VB is a great bakery. They also make the breads right here at this site in Penngrove, and the SR VB gets most of their breads trucked in from Petaluma. I would say that FCB's challah is fantastic and one of my favorite breads in the county - it's the best challah in the county. Our other favorite bread is the Pan Francais from Costeaux - available at SR Farmer's Market on Sat, at their bakery & at Oliver's. One thing to remember about FCB is that if you're buying goods under $10 it's either cash or check. I just verified that they accept checks there at FCB by phoning and they do accept checks. After having lived in the Bay Area for more than twelve years, there was only one thing I was missing. Bread as good as the bread they were baking back in Germany. Until I ran into a loaf of their Rosemary Ciabatta, which I bought at a supermarket in Fairfax. This bread is phantastic and before we came home half of the loaf was gone. I just wished I would know wherelse I could buy their bread. read more

Alright this is honestly some of the best bread that I have ever had....ever!! They have sprout bread here which is a wheat alternative, and ther ciabatta are also pretty amazing. If you cant get all the way up to penngrove then you can catch them at the novato farmers market and the san rafael farmers market!! If you get into the actual store they also have really amazing deli sanwhiches and if your looking for a really nice grain bread, defiently go for the Power Bread!! Dont buy too much though because youll end up wolfing it down before you realize. I do think the actual store is only open till about 1pm and opens at 6am, so get there early!! read more

I found Full Circle Baking booth at the Rohnert Park Farmer's Market this past Friday, purchased a loaf of Challah, the Jewish egg bread. The gentleman in the booth said that their Challah makes "the best French Toast" breakfast. So....I gave it a try this Sunday morning. And, he was 100% right: unbelievably delicious toast paired with fresh organic strawberries and a dusting of powdered sugar. As a New York native, I know my Challah and this guy was correct: light but buttery and flavorful. I look forward to becoming a Full Circle customer as a new Sonoma County resident. I have really enjoyed buying full circle baking's breads! Unfortunately I made a special order for 2 dozen brioche dinner rolls for a special dinner for thanksgiving. The woman I ordered from specifically said to go before 11am to pick up the rolls to be sure I could get them. I went to pick up the rolls at 9:45am and there was a sign on the door that said they would be back in 10 min and to call the number listed. I called the number and a nice man opened the door and explained that something had happened and they did not have any bread available and my special order was not there. The bakery was open since 6am and I was not notified prior to coming that I couldn't pick up my rolls. I had to really plan to get there on time like the woman had instructed and It was unfortunate and being it is a holiday I needed to find an alternative last minute. I understand things happen but I will not be special ordering from them in the future to avoid any situation like this to occur. I enjoy the products so hopefully they will fix this problem! read more

Seriously good bread from a local , Sonoma County bakery. The powerbread (sprouted wheat, raisins, walnuts, almonds) and garlic cheese are my faves. Nice, crusty, chewy bread - you can find it at the Santa Rosa Farmers Market on Saturday, some local groceries, but I think it's best fresh from their little bakery in Penngrove - especially early in the morning. read more

I bit into a ROCK in the loaf of bread I bought there. Needless to say I don't buy their bread anymore simply because of the shady manner in which the owners handled the situation. Their quality control is not what it should be. read more

I feel so lucky to live in a area where I can find such fantastic bread! This bakery deserves 10 stars. My family must have eaten at least 200 loaves of bread since I found them a couple years ago. The bread has always been fantastic and not once have we ever been disappointed. I love it that you can find their breads at Olivers and G&G markets. read more
